Kicking off our top ten list of anime muscle girl, we have none other than Mikage from Durarara!! Mikage is a martial arts teacher at her father's dojo and is the youngest out of three siblings. She is often seen training the Orihara twins, and has a romantic feelings towards the main antagonist Izaya. Mikage is always in prime condition due to her strict training regimen and sheer determination. She has enough raw strength to penetrate concrete with one kick, and I'm sure if you tried to mess with her your head would suffer the same crushing defeat. Having muscles is nothing to be ashamed of even if you're a woman, because it only shows how much you love yourself enough to stay in excellent shape. While we don't get to see Mikage in action until later in the series, much can be said about her personality outside of kicking serious butt. She is seen as a tomboy primarily due to spending most of the time with her brothers, and training hard at her dojo. Mikage is pretty level headed but due to her lack of romantic encounters, she tends to get really flustered and can't truly express her feelings especially with Izaya. We encourage you to watch Durarara!! to know more about Mikage but to also relish in a very well presented anime.

Biscuit is one woman who you probably don’t want to run into on a bad day. She comes in at number nine on our top ten anime muscle girl list. At first glance you’re probably wondering why we even put her here, since she seems like a very young porcelain doll. Surprisingly enough this brute is 57 years old and when she powers up to max level, she becomes an overwhelming beast of a woman. Biscuit tends to stay in her more youthful form because it allows her to dig up important information, but more so to give off the impression of weakness towards her opponents. Once you do get on her nerves however, her true muscular form unveals itself with her fists big enough to punch a hole through your stomach. Despite which form she decides to be in, Biscuit is extremely powerful and it should also be noted that she’s a pro hunter as well. So whatever side you decide to enrage just be sure to have your insurance papers by your side, in case you wake up somewhere you didn’t expect to be. The name “Biscuit” seems very cute and it most certainly fits her youthful personality, but on the other hand it could just be a warning that if you’re not careful, Biscuit may crush you like one, leaving nothing but crumbs on the floor.

Rolling in at number eight is Yukina from the very popular Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress series. She is a crew member on board the Koutetsujou, transporting items across Hinomoto and helping Ikouma along his journey to stopping the Kabane threat. While we don't see her fight throughout the series, you can see that she is packed full of muscle and we can only assume it's due to her controlling the Koutetsujou as we see in numerous episodes. Yukina is seen with strawberry red hair, and a small physique when compared to everyone else. Despite her size in relation to the cast, her form and tone are a prime reason why she's on our list. You can see that she spends a lot of time taking care of herself, and wants to ensure the best for everyone on the train. Her compassion for others is seen throughout the series and one example is when she confronts a boy, hiding the fact about his father's fate to protect him. So not only is she incredibly intelligent and full of muscle, she has a huge heart to balance it all out.

This next heavy hitter on the list is no slouch as she comes in standing tall and full of power. Our number seven choice for muscle anime girl is Daidouji from Senran Kagura. Her staggering height is enough to scare any opponent away, while her glare can pierce through even the strongest of opponents. Daidouji's attire has some history behind it which can also explain her intimidating appearance as well. Daidouji in Japanese means “Large Temple Road” and her outfits resemble that of Japanese High School delinquents which implies that her character is meant to be frowned upon. Her ninja turnover outfit is a shredded Gakuran which in Japan is a male uniform, while invoking a Sukeban appearance meaning female delinquent in Japanese. Her towering structure is extraordinary with muscles popping out of every inch of her clothing, while her long dark hair is strikingly beautiful to create this balance of strength and attraction. She is a legendary senior student who returns to Hanzou every year during the graduation period. She was the underclassman to Rin and the two would become sparring partners in their free time. Senran Kagura is an awesome series that you should check out, especially if you want to see more of Daidouji's brute strength in action.

Big Order was part of the Spring anime lineup this year, and it was a popular series among the anime community. It revolved around Eji whose only concern was to save his sick sister. He had made a wish to a fairy named Daisy but it remained unclear as to what he wished for. Unfortunately his wish had created more catastrophic events than he'd imagined causing a great destruction, with countless people dying. He learns throughout the series that others have had their wishes come true, and they were called “Orders” who are generally hated by the public but are also out to kill Eiji for what he created. This brings us to Tairano who we managed to get a glimpse of in some of the episodes of the series, and is one of Eiji's enemies along his journey. While she doesn't play a major role in the entire story, her presence alone is quite big since she is a tall, dark, and powerful woman with a massive hammer on a long pole. Her sadistic glare along with her appearance is scary, and just looking at her physique you immediately know she is no pushover, since her muscles are so sharp and defined. Carved and sculpted to the utmost perfection, Tairano is our number six entry on our anime muscle girl and she definitely deserves the spot.

Pounding her way through the competition to take the fifth spot on our list is the burly and insanely strong Nikuma from Seiko no Qwaser. Nikuma is no slouch as she packs a punch not only in supreme strength but as the best strategist of Athos. Nicknamed “Hell's Dairy Cow” Nikuma's appearance is definitely quite large, and without question very intimidating. In episode 11 of the series, you clearly get to see Nikuma in her full form as she trains the rest of the girls on the squad. Her abs are so hard and well defined that if you tried punching her you'd probably break your wrist in doing so. Her fierce glare will have you running with your tail between your legs, while her sharp wit will chop you down tearing away at your confidence like a rabid dog. Seeing Nikuma on the street and you'd probably not want to mess with her since her biceps seem strong enough to pop your head off like a dandelion. Perhaps if you needed a bodyguard then she'd be the right one to call, since she has everything you need to feel protected. Terraformars is an ongoing popular franchise which originated from manga, then made into an anime series. The story revolves humanoid-type cockroaches who serve no purpose with man, and only seek to annihilate anyone who stands in their way. An elite team of experienced soldiers are sent to Mars to seek out more information pertaining to the roaches, but unfortunately these roaches aren't interested in casual conversation. Michelle K. Davis is one of those soldiers sent out to seek more information about the mutant species and she comes in at number four on our list. At first glace Michelle is a very beautiful woman with a strong sense of justice, and a passion to protect others. Her exterior is hidden under her clothing but when on the battlefield her hulk-like appearance flies onto the screen. She is a strong advocate of staying in shape as you'll see in various episodes where she works out and eats healthy to stay focused. When she is suited up at max level, her muscles come pouring out just waiting to pound an unsuspecting roach into the ground. Michelle generally doesn't like fighting but when it comes to ensuring the safety of her comrades, her muscles do all of the talking. Considered to be more of a tomboy than other members of the team, she tends to focus more on her own well being and has a soft spot for cute animals.

Diane is the aloof and envious giant in the Seven Deadly Sins series, who spends most of her time daydreaming about Meliodas. Despite her beautiful looks, Diane is a giant that you'd probably not want to scratch the wrong way since she can deal an enormous amount of damage with her trusted hammer. Not only that but her towering muscular appearance is a danger to those who oppose her. She wears a one piece orange suit, boots that extend up to the knees, and a metal armband. Whenever she notices Elizabeth spending time with Meliodas she grows jealous knowing that she can't do the same, due to her height. Her dream is to be small again so that she could be with him, protecting him at all times. Diane's body despite being very large is quite defined and curvaceous, which makes her very attractive in her own way. Her muscles aren't as toned as our previous girls on the list, but anyone that can wield around a big hammer like hers is sure to be packing some heat. Diane is also a little emotionally fragile as she tends to take things to heart very easily, but when confronted with a chance to save Meliodas and her team she will stop at nothing to ensure their safety.

This crazy and menacing character makes her way to number two on our list for various reasons. Zorin Blitz is a vampire with an imposing presence, and just by looking at her you'd most likely want to keep your distance. Not only that but she has a third eye in the palm of her right hand, which only opens when she uses her illusion powers. Zorin blitz is full of tattoos also which you can clearly see on her forehead, right shoulder and innumerable letters that cover the majority of her right side of the body. She also carries a large silver and dark scythe, as if her muscles and tattoo's weren't enough to begin with. Zorin is just a very scary character and we wouldn't want to be caught walking down an alleyway where she waits for an unsuspecting victim to walk right in. Her sadistic smile and frightening physical stature are enough to leave you frozen. Hellsing has always made it very clear to make their character designs stand out, and Zorin is a great example of this. Most definitely watch the Hellsing series because if you don't, Zorin will come looking for you.

Sakura is arguably the largest muscular female we have seen in most anime, and so we had no choice but to crown her as our number one pick on the top ten anime muscle girl list. We were a bit scared with Sakura so we figured if we placed her at the top, she most likely wouldn't choke hold one of our writers. Luckily for us we are safe, and so let us talk a little bit about this ogre of a character. Sakura comes from the popular Dangan Ronpa series which focuses on the more psychological aspects, following a group of students solving mysteries surrounding who the killer is within their school. If the killer is caught, then he or she will be executed while the remaining survivors must continue to take part in the grueling death match until only one person remains. Sakura is part of this whole ordeal and the characters of the series are confronted by her early on. She is an elite wrestler who also specializes in mixed martial arts. Her goal is to become the strongest person on earth, and we can definitely see that in her appearance. Her height is a staggering 192 cm (6'4), build is that of a bodybuilder, and a very deep voice. Despite all of these scary attributes, Sakura is actually generally quiet and level-headed. She only tends to lash out when she grows impatient or when her friends are in dire need of help, so it's best that you don't hurt anyone she knows otherwise you just might become another statistic.

Floating in at number ten is Shauntal who is a Master-type Ghost Trainer and a member of the Unova Elite Four. Purple is definitely the color of choice for Shauntal as most of her attire consists of dark and light hues, along with shades of pink to compliment the coordination. She is extremely kawaii due to her very nerdy look which a lot of us tend to like. Shauntal comes across as aloof but is very intelligent as she tends to be more focused on studying Pokemon than catching them. Despite her petite figure she is very curvaceous and doesn't mind showing a little skin. Shauntal is a story teller, since she really enjoys to write a lot in her notebook that she carries around with her. Shauntal's fascination with Ghost-type Pokemon are what inspire her to come up with stories to write, but also when battling with other trainers. Her favorite Pokemon Jellicent is an extremely cute Pokemon who looks like a big pink puffy toy that you could just throw around and have fun with. Shauntal and her Pokemon definitely shine in their own way and that's why we decided to place her on our top ten.

Bianca is all about coordination as you can see in her style, where she is wearing an orange jacket, green pants, orange shoes, and a green hat. Everything down to the white ribbon on her hat is just immaculate, and that is definitely worthy enough to put her down on our number nine spot. It's hard to put pieces of clothing together but Bianca just makes it look so flawless with every color just standing out in the right order. She resides in the Unova region as an aspiring Pokemon trainer, and works as an assistant Pokemon Professor in Black and White 2. Bianca makes a number of appearances throughout the anime, where she plays a friendly rival to Ash and occasional traveling companion. Despite her sharp sense of style, she doesn't seem to carry that habit over when it comes to her behavior. Bianca is known to be quite clumsy and acts in a hasty manner, but deep down she genuinely cares for all of her Pokemon as well as friends she makes on her journey. If you're into fashionable and kawaii characters then Bianca is definitely your choice for a Pokemon trainer!

Caitlin is one cute looking character because of her unique style and energy she brings to the series. She is a Master Psychic-type Trainer and member of the Unova Elite Four. She first appeared in episode 90 of the Best Wishes series, where she took part in an exhibition match in the Pokemon World Tournament Junior Cup. Caitlin's style is so angelic as her hair just flows freely and her dreamy face in battle just leaves you in awe. It reminds you of a fairy tale princess in a way, since she is so well kept and her demeanor is elegant. While Caitlin doesn't make much of an appearance throughout much of the series, she does play a major role in the games which we highly recommend you play if you haven't already. In the anime Caitlin’s hair is long and wavy which goes down almost all the way to the floor, while she wears a large fluffy, pink and pale hat. Caitlin’s eyes are a sharp vivid blue and her skirt is long with a matching pink transparent cape.

Number seven on our extremely kawaii list of Pokemon characters is Skyla. She is the gym leader at Mistralton Gym and specializes in flying-type Pokemon. Whoever can defeat her will receive the Jet Badge as their reward. Skyla shares somewhat of a similar appearance to popular character Mega Man in that they both wear a lot of blue, and very similar patterns. She made her anime debut in episode 67 of the Best Wishes series where we learn that she is a strong passion for flying and that her battles are called “Air Battles”, in which she visualizes a battle out in her mind and can decide who wins without actually battling. Quite an interesting trait for a cute lady. Skyla wears a patterned blue shirt along with a matching skirt, with blue gloves. Everything about her is pretty much blue even down to her wonderfully adorable eyes. The major selling point that makes her worth of our top ten is that she is so carefree in her life, letting nothing get in the way of her passions. Skyla’s smile and jubilant attitude just bring out the best in everyone, while her competitive spirit shines in battle especially when she faces off against Ash for the Jet Badge. Since we don't want to spoil much of the show for you, we suggest you watch the rest to find out who wins.

Flying in at number six is Master Dragon-type Trainer Iris. She is one of Opelucid Gym's leaders, and she gives out the league badge to whoever can prove their strength. Iris is really stylish and almost always seems to be decked out in some princess-type gear that truly stands out. She wears a pink and white gown with a crown shaped in the form of cat ears, but other times just a pink and beige dress. She made her appearance in the Pokemon Black and White series and was the former traveling partner of Ash in the anime. Her goal was to become a master trainer and so she set out on a journey in order to seek growth and knowledge. Iris is an extremely self reliant character who works extremely hard to ensure the best outcome for her Pokemon. In the anime she is known to swing on vines and eat berries, but is extremely fearful of ice-type Pokemon. Her quick thinking and agility get her out of tough situations as in episode three of Best Wishes, where she was able to save Ash from near death. Iris is not only cute on the outside, but is kind hearted and nurturing within.

Shauna is so lovable from the minute you glance your eyes on her, since she just enjoys battles and solving puzzles along her journey. She is close friends with both Clemont and Eureka who tend to act as support for Shauna when in trouble. We see Shauna's first appearance in episode 39 where she is joined by two other trainers at the camp, along with Ash and the crew. Shauna’s appearance is very fashionable as she wears a pink and black t-shirt, along with a short jean skirt, and pink heels. She also carries her small pink bag which holds all of her Pokemon. Much like Aria on our list, Shauna is a Pokemon performer and is a rival of Pokevision's Serena. The style in which Shauna keeps her hair is quite extraordinary since it truly defies all means of gravity, either that or she uses extra strength gel to keep her hair from falling. Her great sense of style and high energy is enough to put her down on the top five of our extremely kawaii list of Pokemon characters

Aria has made her appearance on more than one occasion in Pokemon, and we can most certainly see why. She is a famous Pokemon performer and is the current Queen of Kalos. Aria made her debut in episode 21 of the XY series, during a Pokevision video. She reappeared in episode 40 where she decided to become a full time Pokemon performer, and embark on new adventures. Aria is pretty much all over the place in the entire series, even taking on a different persona so that she could battle with other Pokemon trainers. Overall Aria is a joyful, energetic and cheerful girl who takes pride in her passion to entertain. What makes her so kawaii is that no matter what obstacle she encounters, she always manages to leave with a smile which just makes you want to hug her. Aria’s mastery of being able to inspire and motivate others is what makes her such a popular figure, and also the reason why we had to add her to the list. When she goes into battle her Pokemon are usually the type who are very pristine in their appearance such as Aromatisse, who looks like a pink princess and very similar to when Aria wears her ball gown. When you take a look at Molly's extremely kawaii face, you immediately just want to squeeze it. Her big round blue eyes with the round puffy face just make you want to gush with joy. She also tends to use Pokemon who are also very cute in their presentation such as Phanpy, and Teddiursa. Molly is the main protagonist in the feature film Spell of the Unown: Entei, where Entei was created out of her desire for companionship and served as her father figure while her real father was trapped in the Unown dimension. In the movie Molly is seen to have two forms, one in her youthful adolescent state, while the other shows her in a more teenage form. Both of her states are extremely kawaii because she still maintains her integrity and youthfulness throughout, and is cheerful when around her Pokemon. We hope that you get a chance to check out the movie because it's truly a heartwarming experience to watch, and you get to see Molly in action alongside her Pokemon.

It was hard to decide on the second kawaii character for our list, but we managed to choose Jasmine to take the silver medal. Jasmine first appears in the Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal series as the gym leader of the Olivine Gym. She specializes in steel-type Pokemon which is what her gym caters to. She generally is very shy but in a very cute and innocent way, making her very likable among many. Her style is also very kawaii as well since she sports a green and white dress while standing in the very popular Pigeon-Toed position that many girls in Japan often do. She made her anime debut in episode 208 of the Pokemon series, where Ash makes his way to the Olivine City Gym where he encounters Jasmine for the first time. Unfortunately Ash gets turned down initially by Jasmine as she decides to take care of an injured Pokemon. She truly does love Pokemon and shows a compassion for everyone around her, however she isn't the best when it comes to showing her feelings. Despite all of this, she is such a bright and adorable character and we couldn't help but shine some of the spotlight on her.

Coming in at number one for the most kawaii Pokemon character is none other then Eureka. Eureka is the younger is sister to Clemont and the two follow Ash on his journey to becoming the Pokemon master. Just by looking at her you can see why we chose to crown her as the champion, because she is so kawaii in so many ways. She is an aspiring Pokemon trainer and looks up to Ash for inspiration. She made her debut in the Pokemon XY anime series, and since then she's become a very popular character in Japan. In the most recent episode of Pokemon XY&Z Eureka is sporting a pink snow outfit and she resembles that of a small baby when she runs around in it. She is always cheerful and excited to encounter new Pokemon along her adventure. Her child-like characteristics make her such a lovable person to watch, since she almost always finds herself in a very weird yet funny situation. She tends to always show compassion to both Ash and Clemont since the two of them are mentors to her growth and maturity. In episode 59 in Pokemon XY she drew an extremely kawaii photo of the group's Pokemon which made our hearts melt with joy and awe. Eureka is such a wonderful character and a great role model for the younger audience since she almost always shows respect for everyone around her, and does her best to improve as an individual.

Counting down our top ten at the tenth spot is Lain Iwakura. This mind boggling anime series looks at how the role of technology has made an impact on modern society, and its perception on reality. Lain finds herself in an awkward scenario when she receives a strange email from classmate Chisa, who earlier had committed suicide. Uncertain is what would this all could mean, she hesitantly opens the email which then leads her into a mysterious world called Wired. The world is akin to that of our current internet infrastructure, but is flooded with a wave of mysterious cryptic messages that Lain finds herself plunged into. Lain was chosen for our tenth spot because along her crazy journey through The Wired, she starts to develop a different sense of judgment about herself and the world in which she is situated. As she dives deeper into the unknown she discovers more bizarre and darker messages pertaining to her existence, and consciousness. This leads Lain to developing two types of twisted personalities, one that exists in actual reality and one in The Wired. It most certainly is spooky to say the least, but it is a prime example of how much our media has manipulated our psyche, providing us with a different mask to wear not knowing who we truly are in this world.

Continuing on with our dark anime girl list, we've hit number nine. Kaede Fuyou grew up with childhood friend Rin in the same house after their parents died in a car accident. She is usually very down to earth, polite, and soft spoken. There are times however, when she begins to show signs of psychosis and even last out violently when a great shock upsets her. Due to this unknown trait, Rin tries not to upset her as he knows of her tendencies, and would rather not get on her bad side. Much of her relapse comes from the accident in which she believes that the reason for it all happening was on Rin. Kaede hits our number nine spot because despite all of the positive things she shares with Rin pertaining to their relationship, her mind is in a different zone filled with darkness and shrouded with uncertainty. One half of her wants to believe everything is how it should be, while the other is filled with an enormous bowl of depression and resentment towards Rin since she claims he was the reason for everything that happened. Her bipolar attitude reflects her lifestyle as she can't seem to stay entirely focused throughout school, and resorts to self-hate when something goes wrong. While this is just an dark anime girl list, we do encourage you to find time to help one another in times of distress because in the end we all need it.

Coming in at number eight on our dark anime girls list is Reina Ryuugu from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. She's a 15-year-old happy go lucky individual who is usually in high spirits most of the time. She is in love with all things cute in the world, and ensures that those around her are filled with good vibes. Despite her cheerful character, a lot of her past was filled with unfortunate events which left a terrible scar on her psyche. Rena's mother committed the act of adultery and was pregnant with the child of the man whom she had an affair with. She asked Reina to go along with her to start a new family, but Reina shunned her mother out of anger and decided to stay with her biological father who was depressed. Thinking that everything was her fault, Reina decided that cutting her wrists and neck were the solution to ridding herself of her mother's filth. Throughout the ordeal she suffered from hallucinations, thinking that maggots were coming from out of her wounds, and behaved violently towards classmates at school smashing windows in the process. This anime is full of interesting back story entertained, but this one is so chilling that we can only feel for Reina as she's been through so much in her life. It is best to stick with the cliché and never judge a book by its cover, because you just never know what it's inside.

This next one isn't so dark and dangerous as the others, but it is still something that can be quite scary if it happened to any of us. Kotoura has the ability to read the minds of others, and while this might sound really cool there are drawbacks from this. She was completely unaware that she could even perform such a feat, assuming that the voices she was hearing were just people talking out loud. Time after time people kept getting hurt while around her, so everyone decides to avoid her. This eventually led to Kotoura giving up on everyone stating to herself that she no longer wants to be hurt anymore. Many people called her names stating that her ability was that of a monster, even her best of friends leaving her behind. In the end Kotoura felt all alone in a crowded world, and it brought pain to her spirit. Now this is a touching yet dark emotional story because at some point we've all been there (not mind reading) and can truly feel how Kotoura feels. This example of abuse is still quite common in today's society, with many children and adults feeling left alone due to their differences. The truth is that we are all the same, but we just have managed to come from all different walks of life. So instead of picking on people on where they came from, embrace the truth and be comfortable where we are now.

Kurome is the youngest members out of the Jaegar Clan, and the younger sister of Akame. So what makes Kurome so dark? Despite not liking to share her candies with anyone, she shares a more twisted side when it comes to the hatred towards her sister. The resentment comes from the fact that she feels Akame betrayed her which leads her to inflict that inner pain upon her enemies in battle. She is extremely cold and ruthless in battle, cutting her opponents limb from limb leaving no survivors. The way she kills them is the dark part of it since she behaves in such a kind manner pretending to let her foes die peacefully, then before you could blink she kills them without mercy. Despite her dark past and resentment towards her sister, throughout the show she does tend to a softer side when she has her candy nearby, and when she spends time with Wave, who is the polar opposite of main character Tatsumi. We highly recommend checking out this action packed thrill ride of an anime, because you will not be disappointed!

Revy is the main protagonist of the action packed anime Black Lagoon. Not much can be said about Revy's past, although throughout the series we learn a few things about her. Revy grew up in the noisy streets of Chinatown, Manhattan, spending most of her youth as a thief and murderer. Something troubles her however as numerous flashbacks often lead to a scenario which involves her shooting and killing an unknown man while using a pillow. We don't know whether the pillow was used as noise suppression or to withhold the identity of the victim who she killed. One thing is thing is certain though, her dark past has turned her into a sadistic and merciless killer, who without much thought, will kill anyone even unarmed civilians for fun. She is one of the deadliest fighters in the series due to her superhuman like abilities to dodge bullets and put an end to just about anyone who stands in her way. Revy tends to speak the foulest out of all the characters, and really has no shame in how she takes her enemies down. She is always constantly living on the edge of life, relying solely on her power and skills to get her through to the next day.

Lucy is a very dark and disturbed individual but her insane past has everything to do with it, and so let us dive right into it. Lucy stood out from everyone else due to her physical appearance, she had horns while other's didn't. This led to a lot of bullying from those around her, causing her to become fearful of her surroundings. She thought she could trust one of her school colleagues who then broke her promise, which led to the boys who bullied her to kill her dog. Out of sheer rage from this torment and abuse, she summons this power called Diclonius, killing each boy instantly with a single blow. Nothing seems to get better for Lucy as she befriends a boy named Kouta, who she finally felt a strong connection with after all that happened. Kouta mentioned to her that he'd be going out of town to visit his friend and would be back to spend time with her. Unfortunately, it was a lie, which Lucy discovers and so decides to kill his entire family in rage. This of course is just a gist of the dark and crazy things Lucy committed to throughout the series. Her story comes from feelings of betrayal and abuse, which led to her lashing out in anger towards anyone who misused her trust. The moral of the story here is to stop bullying others because of their differences, because not only can it severely scar the lives of others, but it can also backfire on you as well.

We are coming very close to the number one spot, but before we get there let's talk a little bit about Nakamura Sawa. Sawa is a classmate of main character Kasuga who is defined as alone, isolated, and aloof. She doesn't really associate herself with anyone, and so many assume that she has no friends. One afternoon Sawa witnesses Kasuga stealing someones uniform and decides to blackmail him in order to become friends with him. Though she tends to display a saner and peaceful attitude, she has emotional outbursts towards Kasuga which throw him off. This dark and twisted turn of events leads Kasuga to believe that she is stalking him, since her only true desire is not feel alone so she targets him for that reason. The creepy part about this is that Sawa believes with all her heart that even if Kasuga chooses to stay or leave her, she will ultimately be isolated. We've all had those moments where someone who liked us just maybe liked us a bit too much, and turned us away. Perhaps not as creepy as Sawa's situation, but the show is something that many of us can relate to. Will Kasuga end up giving in to Sawa's desires? Or will he decline her only to be left with uncertain fate looming in his presence? Only one way to find out, and that's to watch the rest of the story to see how it all turns out for Kasuga.

Making her way into the number two slot is Ai Enma from Hell Girl. Her dark past is just as serious as the ones prior, so grab your popcorn and continue reading. Ai grew up in a normal rural village near the mountains. Her experience was turbulent however as strangers would bully her for being freakish in her nature. At the age of seven she was selected to be the town sacrifice, but was spared as her parents managed to hide away deep within the mountains. Sentarou was her cousin and was one of the very few who knew of her whereabouts, and would bring her food when necessary. Unfortunately, the worst had arrived as Ai was discovered and brought back to the village where not only she was the sacrifice, but her parents also. The three were buried alive with Sentarou being the first one to shovel the insect ridden mud all over them. Ai later broke out of her grave seeking revenge, which started with burning the entire village into ashes. A spider who came to her as The God of Hell was the one who had given her these powers of destruction, and told her she must sign a pact in order to become immortal. Part of this pact also is that she must act as a deliverer of people's hatred, and must remain on the shores of hell. She now becomes a cursed girl without the right to life on earth or rest in peace in hell. This deep dark story is enough to make you realize how karma can behave when you mistreat others. Hell Girl is a cruel reminder of what our world used to be like, and how grateful we should be for the lives we have now.

The history of Yuuko is most definitely the darkest out of all the girls on our list, and we're here to tell you why. Yuuko and her sister grew up in an era where a deadly plague had spread killing thousands. Each day that passed more and more innocent victims would perish to this disease. She was chosen out of all the villagers as the town sacrifice, since the village heads speculated that the shrine God was angry. She was locked in a pitch black underground base without light, warmth, or food to sustain a healthy living. Yuuko also suffered a broken leg from being pushed aggressively into the base, and through this process she slowly started to lose her sanity. Despite her desperate attempts to seek help by screaming and hitting no one came to her side, leaving her to die where she laid. 60 years later with her heart filled with extreme resentment, and memories filled with darkness, she vowed to seek out why she was killed along with the help of another past spirit. This chilling story was the very reason why we chose Yuuko as the number one filler. It shows us the life that humanity had lived prior to our modern times, having no remorse for one another openly willing to sacrifice another for the sole benefit of oneself. Tasohare x Amneisa is a brutal reminder of our dark times, and how far society has come that we no longer must resort to such barbaric and inhumane forms of human sacrifice to seek peace.

Slicing its way to our number ten spot is Jiyu Nanohara. Jiyu is your ordinary schoolgirl who doesn't place much of her focus on things of the past. That all changes when she comes face to face with a 300 year old samurai who informs her that she's the reincarnation of legendary swordsman, Yagyu Jubei. Whenever she puts on her lovely eye patch, she transforms into Yagyu giving her the ultimate fighting power to take down her foes. Her newly obtained powers come in handy because Yagyu is under attack by a rival clan out to settle a grudge, so she must put a stop to it all as soon as possible. Jiyu on the outside is just quite normal and shares a great relationship with her father. Whenever she becomes Yagyu however, it's like her original self never existed. She exhibits power and control whenever she transforms, and commands her unit like it was mere child's play. Seeing a female play a major role like this is great because we get to see two sides of the same coin, that being Jubei Yagyu. We get to see the lifestyle Yagyu had to experience through the eyes of a normal girl trapped in his soul. This is a cool way of explaining the deeper parts of Japanese culture because we can envision ourselves in Jiyu's position, acting out a role that we could never do without the anime being there as encouragement. Blade of the immortal has made its way back onto our lists once again, but this time not as an immortal. The story is mainly set around Manji and his turbulent journey to kill 1000 evil men so that he can return back to normal human form. Prior to his immortality, he killed 100 innocent men under the control of his Daimyo but was then cursed by a mysterious woman sealing his fate. Makie is one of the main casts of the series, where she and Anotsu share a romantic connection and have known each other since childhood. She was born into a samurai family but unfortunately was disowned and cast away by her father, Harukawa, along with her mother. Due to this disgrace, Makie set out to seek revenge on her father using her double-bladed three section staff as her weapon. Defeating but not killing Manji, she decides to not pursue the path of murder because she couldn't fully commit to the hateful act and so she goes into seclusion, turning her back on Anotsu. Something in her provokes her to continue after witnessing her father's death, and so she continues along her journey to seek out strength within as a true samurai.

The story of Chizuru takes place in 1860's Edo, Japan where she lives the simple life with her father who is a doctor. Her father decides to leave the household after an opportunity presents itself, and so she is left alone to take care of the home while he's gone while receiving letters from him. After those letters stopped coming in, she grew concerned about her father's condition and so she took off to Kyoto disguised as a man to find out more. Along the way she is attacked by a group of samurai and a strange inhuman looking man, out looking for trouble. Just before she is about to be taken hostage, a mysterious individual from the Shinsengumi clan comes in to save her, but is then taken back to their headquarters for interrogation. Upon hearing the truth of who her father is, the clan decide to help her along her journey, teaching her the very ways of becoming a samurai. Their intentions to find her father however, are much different than her own, and so her new journey is to uncover the secrets behind why her father is being targeted, and to build better bonds with her newly found friends. Hakuouki is a must watch for anyone who enjoys a deep story with some plot twists around it for zest.

Gintama is a popular jump franchise that follows the life of Sakata Gintoki, a young boy with the heart of a samurai who sets out to find odd jobs in order to keep his stomach full. Aliens called Amanto, have invaded Earth and have taken over feudal Japan. As a result of all of this, swords have been banned and all samurai are treated with disregard as the consequence. This makes living difficult for Gintoki as he's become somewhat of a vagabond, just wandering around with his friends to try to get by. Along the way he comes across a powerful female named Kyuubei Yagyuu who is our top seven anime samurai girl. Kyuubei Yagyuu's name derives from the legendary samurai Jubei Yagyu who was one of the most famous and romanticized of samurai's in Japan's feudal era. She is the sole heir to the Yagyuu family, and was brought up as a male to follow the strict code of the samurai. She is no slouch either, as her swordsmanship is beyond genius, surpassing even the most skilled in her rank Hijitaka Toujirou and Sakata Gintoki. Her personality when compared to others in the Gintama series is very cold, but that is due simply to her upbringing and the hardships she had to go through to obtain her rank.

Coming at number six on our list is Nobuna Oda from the series Oda Nobuna no Yabou. The historical comedy follows the life of Sagara Yoshiharu who time travels back to the Sengoku period, where all of the legendary samurai lords are now girls. One of the girls he meets is Nobuna Oda, who is the commander of the military, and the two establish a close relationship after one of her bodyguards was killed. Nobuna is the main female protagonist of the series and is the Daimyo of Owari. Her attitude towards everyone that confronts her is very tsundere, but despite that is extremely intelligent, ambitious, and plans to conquer the entire nation of Japan to make it a strong nation equal to the Europeans. Much of the European culture inspires Nobuna's ambition and so she seeks out to make sure that Japan can attain that same diversity. Sagara and Nobuna gradually form a somewhat romantic relationship, but always end up arguing with one another over very simple issues. Despite her denials about not liking him, deep down she truly admires his loyalty to her ambition to seek out power to restore Japan. Throughout the show you'll see moments where you see a very hard and cruel Nobuna especially in battle, but when she's around Sagara much of her demeanor changes to a somewhat normal behavior. Check out Nobuna on her adventure as she seeks out more, and let us know what you think!

Jyubei as you can see has played a very integral part in the popularity of Samurai culture. Samurai Girls takes place in the Tokugawa Era when the shogunate was still in power, and much of Japan was under his control. Those who play the part of legendary samurai lords are actually just erotic scantily clad ladies who attend the Buou Academic School in order to hone their battle skills. The master to all of these girls is Muneakira Yagyu, and only he has the power to take these warriors to the next level, transforming them into master samurai. He must first unlock the hidden powers within Juubei with a kiss, then set his sight on the rest of the cast for them to obtain their skills too. Together with his new group of warriors. Muneakira must now fight against the supreme student's school council, who have made it their goal to oppress students in the hectic world. Juubei is Muneakira's first master samurai, which can be identified with a contractual mark on her chest. She has the extreme power level of five million whenever she fully transforms, but as a side effect she becomes extremely sadistic in her behaviors. Her weapon in battle is an unusually colored Katana along with a Daisho set for protection. Despite that she is very respectful to those who deserve it, and while in her normal state she adorns her master Muneakira with gifts. She's also an airhead and behaves much like a child when she doesn't get what she wants, but when in battle she is extremely focused on the task at hand ensuring victory.

Sakura Taisen or Sakura Wars in the west is a popular anime turned video game franchise, which saw great success during its initial release. When the Sega Dreamcast launched back in 1999, Sakura Taisen released a year later selling thousands of copies proving its sheer popularity and great story. It follows the life of Sakura who travels to the main capital of Tokyo with aspirations of defending the city from the demonic forces of the Black Sanctum Council, much like her father did. Coming all the way from Sendai, many people thought of her as the country girl, who never really had anything going for her. Little did they know that she's the master of the Hokushin Itto Ryu Kenjutsu, a power that was bestowed upon her by her father, and the heir to the spiritual power of the Shinguji Family. Throughout her time with the Nishiki unit, she becomes much stronger than the rest of her team, aided by her spiritual powers and her trusted sword named Arataka.

Sengoku collection revolves around the many legendary samurai who are accidentally removed from a parallel universe inhabited by popular historical figures. They now find themselves in the modern city of Tokyo, where they have to get accustomed to daily life living in a society that is totally different from their norm. Masamune Date was a very famous feudal lord in the Sengoku Era, who became a nation sensation when he was able to claim victory over his rivals. In this story however, Date is played by an attractive female who often finds herself in trouble. One example is when she arrived to the modern world, she was tricked by the Yakuza into swindling money, but was later arrested for that conduct. Her mission now is to seek out Kojuro to find out more information, but to seek revenge on the Yakuza who got her into trouble. The anime is a wonderful way to really get a feel for Japanese history but in a more warm hearted manner. Not much violence take place within the series, so you get to see these famous samurai play a softer role in the body of a female. We highly recommend watching this one, but also checking out the Sengoku Basara series if you want to get a real glimpse of how the feudal era really looked like.

In a time where having a voluptuous body was seen as having wealth, power, and respect the story of Manyuu Hiken Chou revolves around the Edo Era of Japan where warriors were given a powerful magic skill. The clan was known as the Manyuu, and the skill was the ability to execute a sword strike that could potentially shrink the size of a women's breasts. Chifusa has become disgusted by how disgraceful things have become, and so many have showed great concern with regards to her credibility. She decides to abandon the Manyuu clan, taking with her the sacred scroll that details their techniques to growing and detaching breasts. Her fellow comrade Kaede feels the same way towards the new rule as Chifusa, and so the two head on a dangerous journey to undo the damage that many of their clan members have done to their land. Along her arduous journey Chifusa comes to realize that she harbors a power that goes far beyond that of her training, and one that could potentially help bring equality to this unbalanced land. Chifusa is seen as a tomboy within the series, covering up much of her body with samurai styled clothing but hides her true power underneath. Many of her encounters have told her that her breasts are huge and fear her extreme power, but due to her inability to control the breast flow technique, she finds it hard to defeat her well-endowed enemies. She battles her enemies much like any samurai would, with her trusted sword and Kaede's assistance. To grow stronger however, it becomes her new mission to master the technique so that she can ensure all women in Japan can have a decent cup size.

Tsukikage Ran has sliced her way through the competition and made her way to the number one spot. The story of Kazemakase takes place in the 1600's where Ran, a wandering female samurai, is joined by a Chinese martial artist named Lady Meow of The Iron Cat Fist. The two set out on an adventure to seek out truth and to know more about each other through their experiences. Ran is extremely skilled with her Katana and is unbeatable in serious battle. The only thing that can put a stop to her is a bottle of sake, which she loves whole heartedly. Much of her past is shrouded in mystery, but a lot of her skills were learned from a samurai named Junzaburo Shiina, whom she had a close relationship with before he disappeared. We chose Ran for the number one spot because she truly plays the part of a samurai very well. Unlike the other shows where there's a little bit of exaggeration in terms of power and spells, Ran is just as real as you can get for a hardcore samurai. What's great is that in the feudal times of Japan, women were prohibited to engage in the way of the samurai, so seeing Ran portray it with such realism is entertaining. If you haven't had an opportunity to watch this samurai anime classic, be sure to check it out and be amazed at the wonderful short stories it provides, while giving you a better glimpse of a true samurai lifestyle.

Coming in at number ten on our list of anime smiles is Edward Wong from the very popular series Cowboy Bebop. Don't let the tomboy appearance fool you, as Edward is all woman and isn't afraid to speak her mind. Whenever Edward comes up with a clever plan, her face lights up like a bulb waiting to test it out. Not only is Edward very crafty but she's also very fun loving and outgoing, which you'll most definitely see throughout the show. She isn't very strong by any means, but as we've stated before your strength should never always be reliant on external tools. Edward keeps her crew alive and well by just throwing out her smile every now then, making sure that her energy gets shared among everyone. Have you ever had that one friend who would always walk into a room and immediately the energy just revs up to maximum? Well that's basically Edward in a nutshell. She's a mover and shaker, always on the go to come up with new ideas. If there's a friend that you ever need to bring a smile back to your face on a rainy day, be sure to give Edward a call because she'll be waiting.

Nothing will ever defeat the cat-like facial expression paired with a smile, and Pino has it down to a science. Children have this way of transforming our days from dark and dull to simply outstanding just from their cute chuckle, and Pino demonstrates this exceptionally well throughout Ergo Proxy. Her smile is truly infectious, and we wouldn't mind taking that infection with us anywhere we go. If her smile was in the form of a candy, we'd surely be hooked on it's sweet and tender core. Pino's eyes always have a gleam of hope within them to let the viewers know that life is pure and magical, as long as you take the right steps to achieve your life purpose. It's almost as if fear doesn't exist in her vocabulary, and what truly matters is staying positive while moving in the right direction. It's amazing how despite the darkness that surrounds the story in Ergo Proxy, Pino can somehow ignore it all and still maintain a carefree disposition to it all. That is truly something remarkable and perhaps a clue to living a stress free life.

Smiles can come in various forms such as the grin, the snicker, and the chuckle just to name a few. Our next candidate shows off so many style of smiles you'd think she was an innovator of it all. Haruko at first glance might look like a typical crazy woman, but in fact she is so full of spunk that it's hard not to look away when watching. Her insane and quirky attitude bring life to the screen and once she starts to show off those various forms of smiling, you start to see why so many love her character. There is truly nothing a smile can't cure because it has every antidode known to man infused within its extraordinary form, and all we can do is give into its hypnotic energy. Haruko deserves her spot on our top ten because she brings something new to the table, while still maintaining our own form of originality. The uniqueness of her character coated with the charisma she brings to every episode just draw you in, and have you wishing to see more of her. Haruko would be the type of friend you'd love to be around with because her smile shows no boundaries, and her energy keeps you coming back for more.

Smiles can truly change the life of anyone especially when you're feeling blue. Lucy has this aura that just resonates with the viewer so well, that when you see her you're just enamored by everything she does. She's not only a loyal member of the Fairy Tail Guild, but she's extremely beautiful and well kept. Nothing speaks attraction like a great smile and the moment you're confronted by her, your heartstrings start to pull and you feel a sense of calm within your soul. While many of us think of power coming from superhuman abilities like throwing big boulders at enemies, or controlling the elements without much thought, the greatest form of power comes in stretching a few muscles in your face. You may not be able to stop a boulder from hitting you, but you just might be able to tame that enemy's heart with a mind blowing grin which is why Lucy deserves the number seven spot on our list.

Nothing speaks innocence more than a genuine smile. It's that gleam of hope we all need when the dark clouds just don't seem to want to move. Coming in at number six is Inoue from the popular series Bleach. Inoue is one of the main protagonists of the series where she and Ichigo team up together to put a stop to the evil Hollows that have been terrorizing their city, and bring peace back to the soul society. While Inoue's powers don't come in the form of Bankai's or sword trickery, her greatest ability is to cheer everyone up in times of adversity. Her main power is to heal wounds in battle, but heals a wound greater than a smile? There is no other drug in this world that could surpass the supreme power of a gracious gesture, and that's why Inoue shines so much throughout the series. In the earlier parts of the series we tend to see Inoue in her more natural form, which is cheerful and full of spunk. That isn't to say that she stopped being happy once Hollow's attacked, but she definitely felt safer in a comfortable environment which is obvious. That being said, Inoue is always there to help others when the situation grants it and she never backs down from a fight even if she knows deep down she's being overpowered. If there's anything that Inoue has taught us through watching, is that you can never be out of energy so long as you have an aura of happiness flowing through your soul. You can chop a man down with a sword but you can never remove a smile from the face of a beautiful woman like Inoue.

Just because you're considered to be an evil person doesn't mean that you truly are. Our perceptions will always be subjective, and so this brings us to number five on our list which is Shiro. While we don't know much about Shiro initially, our assumption from what you see is that she's on the wrong side of the fence. Once you get to know more about her, you start to realize just how joyous she is about everything. Shiro is a unique character because she plays several roles, and we're not too sure what to expect. One thing we can expect however is her extremely beautiful and cheerful smile. Despite the anime having dark undertones, Shiro breathes life back into the series with her glowing grin and playful attitude. When it comes to food there's nobody in this world who would ever frown at the succulent dish that lies in front of them. Shiro is a lover of food and the minute she encounters something sweet, that Colgate smirk just pops right out making us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. A smile can truly turn any situation around and Shiro is an excellent example of someone who can still hold her head high despite all the ups and downs.

Gender never plays a role in the action of a smile, and Mitsukuni proves that to everyone on our number four spot. A smile can travel a thousand miles in a single step, and the moment you're greeted with Mitsukuni's super strong smile you're taken captive by it all. Your body cannot move as you've been locked up behind the bars of serenity, while your heart pounds at the very rhythm that his smile provides. Mitsukuni is very young but youthfulness carries its own form of strength in that people don't tend to take you seriously. When in battle Mitsukuni takes care of business and comes out of it with his angelic smile and personality. You'd think you were a chocolate because of how quickly you melt when the heat resonating from the rays of his smile hit you directly, leaving you in awe. We could go on for days about how cute Mitsukuni's character is, but for anyone who would like to see his powerful smile in action.

Pokemon had released in 1996 along with various other fantastic titles such as Evangelion reaching global success, and Card Captor Sakura made it's debut. Sakura comes in at a well deserved third position on our list because just looking at her cute appearance, you're bound to smile almost instantly. While she might be more powerful than her peers in the series, her adorable smile is the greatest weapon that anyone could wield. Her innocence really helps the smile to become more meaningful because we know how genuine she is. Her big round green eyes just glow with energy as she looks directly at you and throws out a subtle grin. Love can make anyone stronger than the mightiest of men, and Sakura's love for those around her truly resonate within your heart. The adventures she embarks on throughout the series are full of excitement, and with her very cute mascot Keroberos by her side, happiness is always with her. We definitely suggest checking out this fantastic series because not only will it make you smile, but it will change your life.

Anne Happy is one of the newer anime that just released this past spring season, and we thought it would be nice to share a bright example of what a smile truly looks like. An is your typical happy go lucky girl who just wants to enjoy her life with friends. The story somewhat follows a negative trail since An's school is filled with students who have bad karma, or have suffered some misfortune, especially for poor An. Her smile is where things all change because the minute you glance over to see her glowing red eyes and open arms, you feel the urge to run towards her. Bad days and unfortunate moments in our lives will always occur at times we may not enjoy, but these are the very moments that help to build our character. An has been through a lot and with her friends around her going through their own ordeals, it's good to find solace in a smile. We've discussed how powerful a smile can be, and An's can turn any scenario into a fruitful one because she has such a great way of relating to people. Relationships play an important role not just in this series, but in life itself. Our greatest mentors are the ones we smile with the most because they're the ones who see the potential in us to strive ahead, and to appreciate the wonderful gift that the present moment provides. An is like that very same mentor, and you can see that she tries her best to erase suffering and recreate satisfaction which is something we all need more of in our lives.

Slice of life will always serve you a big piece of truth that you were never prepared for, and Barakamon most definitely provides in every way. Naru is a first grader who resides on the Goto Islands along with her grandfather, and frequently spends time at Handa's house. We've decided that she belongs on our number one spot because quite frankly nothing will ever beat the smile of a child. Whenever you run into a baby at the store, or perhaps one of your younger siblings, you can't help but smile when you come face to face with them. There is just something so euphoric about the face of a very young child because there's nothing but purity that resonates from it. Naru is just so cheerful and hyper which is a reminder that for us to truly live a happy life, it's best that we let loose and be carefree about everything. We all take life for granted sometimes when all we seem to care about is money or some form of mindless entertainment, but when you seat yourself in front of a child with an innocent mind it transforms you. Every worry from your body seems to evaporate and your soul cleansed of all uncertainty, simply because of a smile. Naru is a fantastic example of us because when you watch her on screen it reminds you just how beautiful and rewarding our lives can be if we just choose to let go of it all, even if it's just for a brief moment.

Typically on this list, you’re going to see females from the main cast of characters, but for this particular case, we’re going to give you a desirable supporting character. To that point, we’re going to present you with a mature doll face from the anime Date A Live. Reine Murasame has blue eyes and unkempt pale blue hair that is typically tied into a right-sided ponytail. She has a voluptuous body to support that alluring mind of hers. On top of all that she is logical, reasonable and considerate, what more could you ask for? Reine is simply gorgeous both in terms of physical traits and personality. She is an incredible intellectual having earned the right to call herself a Fraxinus Analysis Officer and a high school physics teacher. One of her distinct features is the bags underneath her eyes from the lack of sleep she receives. Those bags don’t hinder her appearance, though, oh no, in fact, we think that it’s a bigger turn on because she is so devoted to her jobs. Don’t let anyone tell you that devotion in a woman is a bad thing.

Up next on our list is a self-proclaimed tsundere from the anime Bakemonogatari. Hitagi Senjougahara is a peculiar individual. She very much lives up to the term tsundere. When she speaks to other people she is very blunt and most times has trouble keeping contact with others, due to the words that come out of her mouth. Although that’s not always welcomed, we think that’s part of her charm. She is able to be completely sincere with people and tell a person like it is. To be perfectly honest it’s an honorable trait. Hitagi has a glamorous body with a well-rounded bust that is very reminiscent of a fashion model. In addition to that, she goes from having long to then short purple hair. Hitagi has angelic blue eyes that you could easily get lost in if she gave you the time of day to stare into them. She’s not always easy to talk to, but if you’re able to woo her, she can be as charming as anyone on this list. Her potential bi-curious nature further cements her on this list following that scene with Tsubasa, where Hitagi gropes her breast and then proceeds to have pillow talk afterwards.

What we have next is a 961-year-old demigoddess from the anime Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri. She is widely known for the name Rory the Reaper, and not someone you want to tick off. I mean, it’s dating 101, don’t upset your date. In this case, those words cannot be clearer, as this demigoddess wields a giant halberd. Fortunately, her sadistic side is usually reserved for bad people. What’s unique about this petite girl is that she gets sexually aroused when people die around her. So if you’re lucky enough to be alive around her, you may get more than a just date. What makes Rory cute is that she takes on the appearance of a younger female sporting a black ribbon hair ornament, which almost makes it look like she has fox ears. Furthermore, she dresses as a gothic Lolita with a black dress and red frills. Her lower half consists of black stockings supported by garters and red boots. Rory is not your typical adorable female; however her innocence, when she's not fighting mixed with that euphoric reaction she gets from death, is enough to warrant a date or two.

Our number seven selection goes to another younger female by the name of Mumei. She is from the action and fantasy anime known as Koutetsujou no Kabaneri. She is a Kabaneri which is essentially a human and zombie hybrid. She has short brown hair and reddish-brown eyes that really stand out on her small frame. Mumei is seen wearing an indigo ribbon wrapped tightly around her neck, to suppress the Kabane virus. An attractive quality about Mumei is that she is able to kick some butt with the best of the world. Although small, she is more than capable of handling herself. Mumei turns killing zombies into a game and often shows her youthfulness. In regards to that, she is also self-aware of her situations and is more than ready to enforce some strength when required. Mumei also has an apparent soft spot for children. That in its own right is something we can respect. It’s commendable to see such a young female grasp some of what it takes to be a woman. Despite her flaws, she has mass appeal due to having enhanced abilities. Without a doubt, she has exceptionally warmed our hearts.

Continuing on with our list is a dreamy and cheerful high school student from the ever popular anime, Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru.. Yui Yuigahama becomes the first customer of the “Service Club.” She follows that up by officially becoming the third member of said club. Her looks alone get her a spot on this list. Her peach eyes and shoulder length coral hair seems like it fits her personality well. It’s vibrant and colorful. Yui wouldn’t be considered book smart but she has a real knack for understanding social situations and adapting to them efficiently. Yui is a very outgoing individual. What makes her stand out from some of the other girls is that no matter how dire the situation is, she always seems to have a smile on her face. She would be considered the glue of any friendship or relationship. Her positivity is infectious and it’s something that most guys would come to appreciate. If you were ever feeling down, she would always be there to support you. Whatever astonishing trait captivated you the most, it’s fair to say that she is a keeper.

We’re now at the medial portion of this list and already we’ve had some great selections thus far. It’s time to continue on, with a genius girl from the grossly successful anime, Steins;Gate. Kurisu Makise shares something in common with several girls on this list, what you ask? She is a tsundere, regardless of how she feels about that. Her fashion sense is somewhat unusual but we consider that a bonus since she is truly unique. With reddish waist-length hair and a slender body, she could elicit attention from most guys without even saying a word. If science is interesting to you, she would be a prime choice to date.

We’re steadily rolling on with our next choice of anime girls men would like to date. Number four brings us another petite goddess to this countdown. This time from the anime Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka or DanMachi for some. Hestia has dazzling roundish blue eyes and light black hair tied into two twin tails. Hestia has a small frame just like Rory Mercury; however Hestia has an ample bust size. She is often seen wearing a white mini dress with blue ribbons wrapped around her neck and just below her breasts, to only further emphasize her majestic endowment. Beyond her seductive appearance, she is portrayed to be energetic and kind-hearted. When she is happy, her smile makes everyone’s heart skip a beat. I’m sure a lot of us wished that we were Bell when they enjoyed crepes with each other on their date. Hestia is such a bubbly person that practically everything she does is so cute. Another attractive quality about Hestia is her hard work and determination at maintaining two jobs to help support Bell while he is away. She may be small but she is arguably a total package.

As we get closer to that number one spot, things are really going to start to heat up. If you’re familiar with the anime Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry then you should know that Stella Vermillion deserves a spot on this list. The Crimson Princess as she is known as is a succulent A rank Apprentice Knight. As you can image she sports long crimson hair tied into twin tails and crimson eyes. Stella has a sensual body, complete with large breasts and legs that are emphasized by her black stockings and garter. Stella in a lot of people’s minds is perfection; it’s like looking at a painting of a sexual goddess. Impulsive and sometimes feisty, Stella can really bring out the emotions in guys. Her perverted side is perhaps her best quality. Whether she is straddling Ikki while he is sleeping or washing his back with her voluptuous breasts, it’s hard not to be envious of Ikki. That’s right, if you don’t know she is from the 2016 anime, Musaigen no Phantom World. Distinctively, Mai Kawakami has two beauty marks under both her eyes. We feel it adds to her fresh youthful face, as it gives off a sort of wholesome look to her. Mai may not be as mischievous as our last pick but she more than makes up for it with her very active and caring personality. It appears that there’s a theme of busty ladies on this list, Mai is no exception. Nonetheless, there is much more to her than that, including her sandy-blonde hair and vibrant purple eyes. Her appearance is merely the cherry on top for her, however. What really makes Mai dating material is the fact that she is fit, strong and can handle taking down phantoms without weapons most of the time. Combine that with her exuberant behavior and elevated maturity level and you got a breathtaking catch on your hands. It would be hard to pass up such a determined girl, who would be sweet and possess the strength to protect everyone around her.

At last, we’ve reached our number one spot! We will say, if you’ve made it this far without passing out due to the blood loss coming out your nose, kudos to you. Our number one choice goes to the sultry Akeno Himejima from High School DxD. You simply cannot go wrong with this list, but we felt Akeno deserves the number one spot for several reasons, let us explain. For starter let’s take a moment and get lost in her lustful eyes. Are you good? Now let’s continue. Akeno is tremendously elegant and gentle when she wants to be. Take her date with Issei as an example when she is dressed in a stunning, virtuous dress. However, she can quickly flip the switch and do a complete 180 and become a seductive masochist. That’s one of the greatest aspects about her; you can go out on a date and get the best of both worlds. She has the ability to adapt to one’s personality. She has an appearance of a well-developed young woman, who can simply overwhelm you with desires; Issei knows that all too well. We’ve gone this far without a mention of her chest. Let’s just say if you’re an oppai man, there is more than enough to handle. Take one last good look into Akeno’s eyes and tell me she doesn’t have waifu material written all over her.

In Mahoroba village, where time seems to crawl, two girls have fallen in love, passionate about being together at all costs. These girls are very different, but that doesn’t stop them. Himeko can be timid and hesitant. Chikane is a girl with courage and grace. One day, as the girls celebrate their shared birthday, a friend is corrupted into attacking the girls, waking the priestess' powers within Chikane and Himeko. Now, they fight evil to save themselves. Chikane is a complete kuudere miko who is passionate when it comes to love. While Himeko may be more hesitant, Chikane is always willing to take action, especially in the name of love. While Chikane may seem cold and heartless, she has a heart of gold and will protect the ones she cares about at all costs, even if she herself is unhappy in the end. Chikane is a self-sacrificing yet passionate anime miko character that shan’t be forgotten!

Lucky Star is an anime all about the lives of Konata, Kagami, Tsubasa and Miyuki, who are all school friends and high school girls. Together, they’ll do homework, attend classes, go to Comiket, and sit around the kotatsu for some laughs and good times. This is not a story about action and adventure; it is the ultimate slice of life anime for all! When you think of Lucky Star, you do not think about anime miko characters but in fact, there are two! Kagami and Tsubasa are twin sisters who are miko at their family shrine. The two can be seen in their miko clothes for important events at the shrine, to which Konata will always say something. Kagami and Tsubasa are great because although they are miko, they don’t fall into what most people think miko are. Tsubasa is an airhead who loses herself doing absolutely nothing while Kagami is tsundere-esque and enjoys playing video games. Do either of those sound like your typical miko?

Satonaka Ikkou, at the ripe age of 16, was sent to Saienji Buddhist Temple by his parents with the sole intention of having Ikkou be trained by his grandmother who also happens to be the Saienji Priestess. However, the temple seems to be a haven for voluptuous priestesses-in-training! At the same time, Ikkou discovers that his monk powers become strong when he sees a naked girl. Now, Ikkou is the perfect candidate for performing amazing exorcisms. Now we have our dear Amanogawa Haruka, the big breasted ditz of the Amaenaide yo!! bunch, but is she really? Haruka likes to incite trouble and is not quite as she appears. When Haruka flirts with our main character Ikkou, it is usually to get one of the girls angry at him and well, watch the rest unfold. Haruka may seem like a ditz, but she’s no dummy.

It has been ten years since then and Eiji does not remember what he wished for but he has an “order” which began manifesting in people since the Great Destruction. However, many people are after Eiji’s life since the Great Destruction. Will he be able to survive? Now an anime from the Spring anime season 2016, Big Order revealed to us one of our favorite anime miko characters: Iyo! Iyo is a miko with great power, but her father gave her one warning: do not ever touch a boy or else your powers will vanish! Well, regardless of what happens, Iyo does not hesitate to touch our main character, Eiji, to protect him for his own good, whether he likes it or not. This shy miko who knows nothing about men is going to through you for a loop. Never underestimate an anime miko character!

Kisaragi Saya lives a double life as a high school student and a monster slayer. All seems to be going smoothly as Saya protects humans from monsters, but things are about to change. Saya heard that there is a broken covenant. Now, Saya is going to see that things are not as they appear, but first, she has to figure out who she is! Saya lives quite the busy life as a high school student, miko, and monster slayer. She has her hands full! When she’s not studying or cleaning the shrine, Saya makes sure to keep the peace between humans and monsters. Despite all the excessive bloodshed and gruesome fights, Saya remains unphased by her work. It is quite a lot to deal with for a high school girl, though! Regardless, Saya does her role as an anime miko character quite well and who can deny that she belongs on our list?

Maebara Keiichi is the newest resident of Hinamizawa Village, where life seems to be simple and fun. He has made new friends and everything seems great. Until one day, Keiichi hears there have been murders and people are disappearing, all of which are associated with the annual festival. Now, Keiichi is suspicious of all, including his new friends who seem to be hiding something from him. Ah, Rika is our darling number 6th anime miko character! She seems like an adorable young girl, but much like the others in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Rika doesn’t stay adorable for too long. Rika is the “Queen Carrier,” so without her, the residents in Hinamizawa Village will lose their minds. Not only does her death spark the villager’s insanity but she herself has gone insane in a few arcs in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Let’s just say, if you are squeamish, don’t be stupid enough to watch. Anyway, because of Rika’s importance in Hinamizawa Village as well as the part she plays in the anime, is it no surprise that Rika is on our list of top 10 anime miko characters?

Okabe Rintarou calls himself a mad scientist as he spends his time in his “lab” in Akihabara inventing odd gadgets with friends and lab mates Shiina Mayuri and Itaru Hashida. One day, the three of them create a gadget that morphs bananas into some odd slime. Using this new invention dubbed the “Phone Microwave,” the three of them set off on a journey through time. If you don’t like Ruka, get out! Ruka is the beautiful and graceful anime miko who will steal your heart. Or break it once you realize that Ruka is most definitely a boy. Or is he? Either way, Ruka knows what he wants and knows just how to go for it: whether he wants to be born a girl or go out on a date with Rintarou. Despite being somewhat ruthless in pursuing his wishes, Ruka is a very gentle soul and a great friend to Rintarou. All of his great traits combine to make Ruka one awesome anime miko character! Who says you have to be female to be a miko character? (Well…)

Machi is a shrine maiden who has spent her life living in a rural village in the mountains. Machi is in charge of taking care of the shrine alongside her bear guardian, Natsu. However, things are going to change now that Machi is getting older. Machi wants to go to the big city and go to school! Can this country girl actually go to the big city? Is Machi ready for life in the big city? Number 3 on our list is an anime miko character from this spring 2016 anime season. Machi is an adorable young miko who’s guardian happens to be a bear. Machi dreams big of going to the city for a chance to be a city girl, but with all of her social anxiety and inferiority complex as well as self-consciousness, Machi can barely make it out in a shopping complex. Poor Machi. Still, she tries and usually ends up forcing herself into very freaky situations, but at least Machi gives them a chance! Machi may not always succeed at what she wants or see what is truly happening, but let’s give her an A (E?) for effort! Plus, who could deny her when Machi dons her miko clothes? She’s adorable! Worthy of being the village mascot!

Higurashi Kagome finds that her life takes a huge turn one day when she is dragged into a cursed well by a demon. Kagome finds herself in the Sengoku period over 500 years in the past, where she is being pursued by demons because she contains the Shikon Jewel that is said to grant wishes. The jewel breaks but Kagome teams up with a demi-human, Inuyasha to find the pieces of the sacred jewel to keep it out of the hands of evil-doers. Now, Kagome is opting to stay in the past to save the world from demons who will use the jewel for nefarious purposes. How many of us can forget our beloved Kikyo? Kikyo is the vengeful miko character who is always after Inuyasha’s skin. Kikyo is an amazing miko character because of her skill. She is a master archer, but let’s not forget her skills as a miko! Kikyo was entrusted with the duty of killing demons and protecting the Shikon Jewel for a reason. Of course, Kikyo is also quite tenacious as she never deters from her goals, even if that means attempting to kill Inuyasha. Kikyo is a woman of many merits that you just don’t find in most anime and on top of it all, she’s a miko!

Tsukino Usagi is a crybaby and extremely clumsy. She isn’t good at anything nor does she do well in school. One day, Usagi’s life changes when she comes across Luna, a purple cat who can speak and has a crescent moon on her forehead. Luna grants Usagi a brooch that gives Usagi magical powers so she can transform into Sailor Moon and protect the world from the forces of evil. Luna gives Usagi the important task of finding the Silver Crystal, the other Sailor Guardians, and the princess of the Moon Kingdom. Is Usagi up for the job? Well, does she have a choice? How can anyone deny that Hino Rei deserves number 1 on our list of top 10 anime miko characters? Not only is she a skilled miko at her shrine, Rei has shown just how skilled she can be in combat. Hell, Rei is always trying to knock sense into Usagi when others don’t. We can’t all be so sympathetic, you know. Rei is the friend that Usagi needs. And as a skilled Sailor Guardian, Rei will not let you down!

Canaan follows the story of Ōsawa Maria, a Japanese photographer working in Shanghai. Strange things happen while she covers the events at a festival and due to her curious nature, Maria investigates, only to find herself caught in a battle between a group of masked men and a snow-haired young woman. It turns out that the woman is Maria’s childhood friend, Canaan. With Canaan’s help, Maria manages to escape the chaos of that night, but her curiosity has opened the door to something far greater, far more sinister and far more newsworthy than she could ever ask for. Number 10 on our list is none other than leader of the Snake Terrorist Group, Alphard Alshua-sama from Canaan. With olive skin, piercing grey eyes and shoulder-length black hair, it’s no surprise that she’s one of sexiest villains out there. Alshua normally sports a black tube top, exposing her navel (one of her most attractive features), tight black pants and a dark trench coat, a fashion sense reminiscent of Kusanagi Motoko from the Ghost in the Shell franchise. Alshua’s cold personality and absolute lack of remorse for any of her actions makes her one of the more dangerous villains on this list, but not only that, she is very intelligent. Keeping her body in tip-top shape is imperative for when she engages in combat, but it seems to be having an unprecedented effect: Alshua rocks her slender frame better than any other villain out there. She normally has a fairly cold, neutral expression, but she does smirk on occasion, a tiny change in her expression capable of making anyone experience the strangest form of ambivalence: we don’t know whether we’re scared or attracted, maybe a bit of both, but we don’t care – we enjoy looking at her every turn we get.

Next on our list is Black Lady from the very popular Sailor Moon franchise, which follows the adventures of Tsukino Usagi, a 14-year-old girl who, upon being introduced to a talking cat, is granted special powers to fight evils from another realm. Black Lady is an evil grown up version of Usagi’s daughter, Chibiusa and tries very hard to kill all of Chibiusa’s friends. Black Lady is a tall, slender and elegant woman who normally wears an all-black dress which features a very sensual side split, exposing much of her long legs. She carries herself much like a princess, which makes it all the more impossible to leave her out of this list. From her glassy eyes, to black dress, Black Lady really knows how to bring an audience in, leaving almost everything to the imagination.

In the land of Fiore, magic and wizardry are commonplace. So commonplace that people have formed alliances, or guilds, where wizards can come together and perform various jobs for clients. The infamous Fairy Tail is one such guild and Lucy has come to Magnolia to locate and join this legendary guild. When she unexpectedly runs into a legendary member of the guild, the Salamander, all she can think about are the various adventures that await! Our next sexy female villain is the Angel of the Oracion Seis. Deciding to give some of her life energy in order to become more beautiful, her appearance on this list is proof that her beauty hurts, but it’s worth it. Angel’s appearance is like that of a conventional angel, as she wears a beautiful dress made up of white feathers, angel wings on her back. Later, the dress splits up and exposes a heavenly amount of cleavage, also exposing her navel. Where it splits, rows of feathers line up and collect at her shoulders where they form feathery shoulder pads. Angel also sports two angel wing tattoos on her collarbone. Her snow white hair is cut to a short bob. Due to the fact that Angel appears in two different time periods, her appearance changes slightly, but her sky-high sexiness does not. Who said angels can’t be elegant and sexy?

Hyodo Issei is one of the most perverted teenagers of all time and spends his time doing things that perverts do. Which is why it was very surprising when a beautiful girl from another school, Yuuma, asked him to be her boyfriend. His lonely virgin life was coming to a close. However, while the sun set on the day of their first date, Yuuma transformed into a scantily clad woman with black angel wings and armed with a spear, she killed him. It turns out that she was the fallen angel Raynare and that he has a secret power within him. Before Issei could draw his dying breath, a demon forms a contract with him, saving his life, but forever changing it in the process. Raynare is probably one of the reason many people have trust issues. As Yuuma, she seemed like the sweetest girl, but as Raynare, she is a sadistic and cruel entity. It’s also sadistic and cruel that she’s sadistic, cruel and very well endowed. Her fallen angel form sports a very revealing black leather-like getup which covers only some of her chest and abdomen. She wears black thigh-length boots and her look is rounded off by her long, black hair and feathery black wings. With an outfit like that, how could Raynare not be one of the sexiest villains? After killing Issei, Raynare absolutely killed viewers with her look that has everyone asking the age-old question: “Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?”

Alchemy is the understanding of matter and the ability to change it. All of alchemy rests on one all-important law: equivalent exchange. In order for something to be gained, something of equal value must be given up. When Edward Elric and his brother Alphonse decide to commit a taboo and attempt to use alchemy to resurrect their dead mother, the repercussions are severe. Edward loses an arm and a leg while Alphonse loses his entire body. Armed with the scars from that fateful incident, they have now become State Alchemists, sold seeking to find a way to return their bodies to the way they used to be. Lust is a homunculus, an artificially-created human being and our next sexy villainess on this list. Like her name suggests, Lust is named after one of the Seven Deadly Sins, which is appropriate: that level of sexiness is life-ending. Lust normally wears a black dress which exposes her shoulders, collarbone and cleavage, long gloves which come up to her elbows like sleeves and she wears her long black hair down. Lust is able to use her beauty to her advantage and is a fan favourite for cosplaying – it is no surprise, if anyone could be half as sexy as Lust, they would be twice as sexy as anyone else.

Passed down through the ages is the most powerful weapon in all existence, the Witchblade. Wielded solely by women, it selects its host, granting her unparalleled power. Six years after a massive earthquake which destroyed most of Tokyo, Amaha Masane and her daughter Rihoko are in Tokyo, in pursuit of a better life. That is until a series of events put Masane behind bars and with the appearance of a strange biological weapon in the cell next to hers, the Witchblade finally displays the power of its new host. The Witchblade - Righteous Sword of God, or Hand of the Devil himself? Our number 5 is the biologically modified Maria from Witchblade. Maria is a Cloneblade bearer and one of the main antagonists of the show. But that’s beside the point. There’s a reason why she’s on this list. On a normal day, Maria sports a blue and a red pair of ponytails with a blonde fringe, an interesting top that looks quite similar to a corset with ample cleavage, incredibly short shorts and black thigh-length boots with a red streak down the middle to match her top, which has slits on both sides, baring her waist. There is quite a lot to see on such a petite character. Bearing a Cloneblade means that Maria has access to an all-powerful, somewhat scary yet very sexy transformation which turns her ponytails into sharp, clear blades, her skin turns a shade of violet and unlike the Witchblade and other Cloneblades, she has almost no armour protecting her apart from on her shoulders, covering her other parts are just mere streaks of red going down both sides of her chest, her arms and in her hair blades. It’s a bit too early to be drooling so much.

14-year-old Renton Thurston has always dreamed about joining the most infamous rebel group, Gekkostate. Bored with his current life in the city of Bellforest and frustrated with the prospects he faces in the future, he believes that his life sucks. However, when a giant mecha, or LFO (Light Finding Operation), crash lands into his garage and the beautiful pilot, Eureka, requests a tune-up for her Nirvash Type Zero, Renton can taste the excitement. It only gets better for him when the mysterious pilot of the LFO identifies herself as a member of Gekkostate. Finally, his life in the tired old town of Bellforest can come to an end. Anemone is Eureka’s lookalike and polar opposite at the same time. She is a complete sadist and one of more insane characters of the show. But we all know that the best villains are the crazy, sexy ones and Anemone definitely fits the bill. Being an LFO pilot herself, Anemone is mostly seen wearing a black skin-tight bodysuit that caresses her body while she completely obliterates everything, from the cockpit of her LFO. When she’s not piloting, Anemone’s often seen rocking a short orange and white dress which shows off her awesome legs. From her slender yet beautiful frame, her sultry purple eyes and her dizzyingly attractive yet terrifying demeanour, Anemone has definitely booked her place as one of the sexiest villains of all time.

Fifteen students are accepted into Hope’s Peak Academy, each with their own unique talents which become their identities at the school. One of these students is the painfully normal Naegi Makoto, given the title “Ultimate Lucky Student”. Everything seemed normal until Makoto passed out seconds after walking through the school gates. He and his new classmates are held captive by their headmaster, Monokuma. The only way they can leave is by successfully murdering one another without being caught. Can Naegi and his new classmates find a way out? This brings us to our next sexy female villain. Enoshima Junko is the true mastermind behind the evils of Hope’s Peak but some viewers tend to believe that all can be forgiven, even her conniving, murderous impulses and unpredictable personality. And who can blame them, Enoshima Junko is serious eye candy. Junko’s so good looking that when she was killed off for being caught for murder, the story was spun in such a way that she’d still be alive! Okay, no, in actuality, she has a twin sister, but that’s not what matters right now. Junko has an hourglass figure, done justice by her sense of fashion. She is normally seen wearing a black cardigan over a white shirt, an undone necktie which brings attention to her cleavage, a red bow tie on the left side of her chest, a short red skirt and mid-sized boots. Her hair is strawberry blonde and done up into two ponytails and she wears quite a bit of makeup, baby blue eyeshadow being the most notable.

In a certain faraway country, the bearer of the title of queen is decided through a tournament and every few years, a new queen is enthroned. Our #2 beauty is Melona, the strongest (and the sexiest) minion of the Swamp Queen. Melona is a slime and completely able to change her form to whatever she desires. Melona has two defining physical characteristics: her sky blue eyes and her pink hue. She is normally seen wearing very little, sporting only a translucent pink jacket with short sleeves, as well as a short, tight matching skirt and pink boots. Melona’s hair is long and pink, featuring a pair of bunny ears and two long locks of hair drape over her exposed chest, forming hands which form very limited cover, leaving almost nothing to the imagination. Anyone fancy a few licks of this flavour of Melona on a hot summer day, perhaps? With an outfit which offers about as much cover as a newspaper during a nuclear war, it is of no surprise that Melona is on this list. Her ability to change her form gives her unlimited possibilities and with unlimited possibilities, come various forms of pink sexiness that only she can provide. What she normally does with her ability is already too sexy for human comprehension. Imagine what she could do if she really set her mind to it.

Akame ga KILL! follows the activities of the assassination group of the Revolutionary Army, Night Raid and their rebellion against the Empire, which has long been corrupt and caused the people to suffer. Tatsumi initially visits the imperial capital with the intention of joining the military and earning enough money to send to his home village, but after experiencing first-hand the darkness that runs through the empire, he decides to join Night Raid, after a chance encounter he has with them. At the very top of our list of the sexiest female villains is none other than General Esdeath. Esdeath is the most powerful soldier on the empire’s books and her bloodlust and love for battle make her a very formidable general. Military things aside, with her long blue hair, thick blue eyelashes, glorious bust and porcelain skin, she was always meant to be on this list. Esdeath’s almost always seen wearing the standard general uniform but she keeps her top buttons undone, exposing a generous amount of cleavage and a strange mark in the middle of her chest, drawing our attention more often than not.

She is the leading member of the super famous idol group Cham! when she decides that the next step on her career should be quitting music and become an actress. From that point on, Mima is stalked by the people who believe her career shouldn’t have such a radical switch. Her professional life also suffers all sorts of strange incidents which will drive her to the verge of madness. This jewel by late director Satoshi Kon offers us a contrast of the often sugar coated life of music idols with a horror thriller. The leading character (Mima) is a talented young woman struggling to find the correct path by herself, which is far than easy on the professional and demanding world of idols. Her songs with Cham! are the perfect j-pop upbeat of the nineties and our Mima really enjoys her performances. She totally deserved a spot on our Top Ten!

Cyan is the perfect example of the shy but talented musician who dreams to become a star. Lucky for Cyan that she found the Strawberry heart item that lets her travel to Midi City, a place where music rules! In Midi City, Cyan will use her talents to save the world and become an authentic star with her all girl band Plasmagica. It also helps that the whole band is super cute and also plays happy go lucky rock. So, here we have a girl who does not only sings, but also plays the guitar. The combination of happy rock and Cyan’s cute high-pitched voice works so well, that it will brighten up even your bluest day. Cyan is also a great example of not giving up our dreams. All her energy will hit you in every Plasmagica’s song!

The premise of this anime is simple and fun: Miss monochrome is an android with dreams of becoming a star. This first season tells her adventures while trying to keep herself charged. The anime has been so successful that it received 3 seasons, following Miss monochrome in her struggles to become a famous idol. She even helps her fans out! That’s what we call a true anime idol. What is most curious about Miss Monochrome is that her creator and voice is the seiyuu and singer Yui Horie. She used the Vocaloid technology to create a cute character with a defined personality like Miss Monochrome. Of course, being a direct creation of a talented singer, Miss Monochrome is an awesome anime idol!

Meet Yui Hirasawa, a carefree girl who one fateful day, signed up for her school’s music club. It didn’t matter that she didn’t know a single thing about music. Fellow club members take the time to teach Yui to play the guitar, and off Yui goes on a musical journey! Now she has a loyal group of friends on the After School Tea Time band, and a way to canalize all her good vibes! Yui’s cool attitude towards life helps her whenever she is in a stage. Although she is not particularly gifted at anything at first, she can be very persistent when she wants too. Therefore, Yui becomes an accomplished member of After School Tea Time. Her high-pitched voice is full of energy, which is awesomely combined with her groove at the guitar.

D.Gray-man is a story about the war between two factions. The Earl of the Millenium and his army of Akuma aim to conquer the world, while the Exorcists are trying to save humanity. The protagonist, Allen Walker, has a special cursed eye that can see through the Akumas’ disguise. His tragic past will pursue him as Allen tries to find out how to defeat the Earl and how to survive the war. Yes, this show is not essentially about music, but you guys won’t deny that the songs are superb. Given the dark tones of the topics involved, the story of Lala and her voice stand out. Although her presence was rather short, this anime idol had her big moment when she sang for her master as he was dying. Lala would be capable of moving a stone with her vocals, I tell you!

Touya Fujii is a regular college student with a part time job who has the immense luck of dating an idol. Or perhaps it is not that much of luck, because Yuki Morikawa’s professional life is highly competitive. Despite of being successful, rivals who don’t lack in talent and beauty surround her, so she makes great efforts to keep herself on top. This restrains her relationship with Touya in more than one way. Will our pair of lovebirds be able to manage the perfect life-work balance? You will have to watch White album to find out. In the meantime, we can tell you that Yuki’s sweet voice and well balanced songs will leave you with a good impression of jpop. Her dance moves and enthusiasm in the stage, plus the feelings her voice expresses, would make of you a fan, just like her boyfriend Touya! Personal stories aside, Yuki has some of the best natural performances in our Top Ten (with natural we mean without too much special effects). That is an asset that creates a contrast with today ’s idol world full of virtual displays.

It is the year 2059. Humanity is in an exodus, moving through the galaxy in seek of new horizons. The story takes place on a giant flying colony, precisely called Macross Frontier. Humans and their former enemies, the Zentraedi, live in harmony there. Nevertheless, during the visit of the idol singer Sheryl Nome, a new menace called Vajra attacks the colony. A fellow pilot apprentices called Alto Saotome and an aspiring idol girl called Ranka Lee get involved in the attack… and that is just the beginning of a new war and a new love triangle in the better Macross style. With the direction of Shoji Kawamori and the music of Yoko Kanno, nothing can seriously go wrong in an anime, right? Especially if such anime is closely tied to music and songs. If Sheryl and Ranka are good on their own, just wait until you listen to their duos! Their relationship of friendship and rivalry is complex, but no matter what, they will always be there to cheer Alto with their vocals.

Full moon wo Sagashite is the story of Mitsuki Koyama. Here we have a girl who dreams to become a professional singer despite battling with throat cancer. To make things worse, a pair of shinigami inform her that she only has one year of life left. Thus, Mitsuki decides to pursue her dream and make the best of her last year on Earth with the help of these two shinigami. Setting her sad backstory aside, Mitsuki really has talent for singing. Her voice, in great contrast with most of the heroines of anime, is deep. This suits much better the adult themes of the anime and of her songs. You won’t be able to watch this anime without shedding a tear or two when Mitsuki sings.

This time, the Macross Universe takes us to the year 2040, to a planet called Eden. Isamu Dyson and Guld Bowman, once childhood friends, are pilots competing to win the Supernova project. Sharon Apple, the most advanced virtual idol in the universe, visits the planet to hold a concert. Her manager and supplier of emotions is Myung Fang Long, who was once friends with Isamu and Guld. The appearance of Myung and Sharon will cause more than one problem in the planet, especially when a controversial software is installed on the virtual idol. Once more, Shoji Kawamori and Yoko Kanno strike with a well balanced story full of music. We could say that Sharon is artificial, but let’s not forget that her emotions come from a real human and she eventually internalize such emotions… even if they end up being dark. Her voice is quiet unique and the style of her music is eclectic and full of reverb. Yoko Kanno conferred on an interview that she has never composed songs on this way again, as they tended to “hypnotize” people.

Two girls sharing the same first name meet on a train bound for Tokyo. Nana Komatsu is pursuing to keep her relationship with her boyfriend, who is an art student in the capital. Nana Osaki is determined to become a star after her boyfriend leaves their former band (the Blackstones) and herself behind. The two Nanas end up living together, the Blackstones reform and the girls friendship grows as they pursue their life dreams and suffer live’s counterbacks. Nana Osaki has a strong personality and determination. She was taught guitar by her boyfriend Ren and found her vocation through punk music. Plus, she has the aset of being voiced by Anna Tsuchiya, who has a unique and powerful voice. This suits Nana’s singing style perfectly, as punk music relies in more than being a pretty face. For her determination and the raw passion of her voice, she is the number one in our Top Ten.

【 Blue Winter Dress 】 Something great about Fairy Tail is that the characters periodically change their outfits. One of the girls with the classiest dresses is Juvia Lockser. This particular one is a winter outfit. It’s a simple blue princess line dress (in what I imagine is a wool-cashmere blend) with long sleeves and furry trim. Notice the high slit. You don’t have to sacrifice sex-appeal just because it’s cold! The accessories are important to complete the look. The short cape in a darker tone and fur trim makes the dress; and you must have the over-the-knee boots. The belt adds a nice accent and the hat is totally optional. As long as it’s cold, you could wear this anywhere! Juvia wears this outfit during the second half of the Grand Magic Games, but she always has conservative, yet sexy and stylish outfits! 【 Little Black Dress 】 Here’s one that you could definitely rock on a night out. Utau might be a pop idol, but this little number could be worn by anybody! First of all, we all need a LBD and skater dresses like this one are flattering to every body type so it’s a perfect combo. The crisscross panel on the sides is playful and sexy as is the crisscross halter tie. Add some cute black heels and you’re set for a night out! Utau wears this dress several times during her performances throughout the series, along with a plethora of other cute, sexy and badass outfits, so if you want to see more, check out Shugo Chara!

【 Black and White Gown 】 Asuramaru has a great sense of style for a demon that’s trapped inside a sword. Asuramaru wears a black and white long princess line dress with a halter top and a very high slit. The halter cut accentuates the shoulders and clavicles and the high cut skirt is sexy without being too revealing. This outfit is elegant enough to be worn to a formal event. And though Asuramaru doesn’t wear shoes with it, the accessories are perfect too! A headband is perfect day or night and you can keep the gloves for a classy night-time event or keep your arms bare for a mid-day shindig! Definitely, wear shoes, though…

【 Purple High Collar Gown 】 Boa Hancock has a very sexy style that doesn’t let you forget she’s a powerful, confident woman. But out of all of her dresses, this has to be my favorite. The purple is beautiful, and the single, large Kuja pirates’ design makes it stylish without going overboard. The high Chinese-inspired collar is flattering to everyone and even without Boa’s attributes, any woman would look sensual and classy at the same time. And once again, we have a very high slit on the bottom that shows a lot without really showing anything. This is definitely a dress to stand out in. It’s regal, sexy and stays classy at the same time. But no matter where you wear it, wear it with confidence! That’s a key part of the look. Boa wears this in the 15th Anniversary Special One Piece 3D2Y if you want to see it in action.

【 Pink Gothic Lolita Dress 】 Chii has a sweet, innocent look that was made for pink or white Lolita dresses. If you’re into the frilly Harajuku doll look, this pink Lolita dress has to be one of the best ones in anime. The hi-low skirt accentuates its frills making it cute, flirty and extremely feminine. The corset waistline is very detailed and delicate as are the sleeves and bust. The innocent flirtiness continues with the bare shoulders and a daring décolletage. And that huge bow in the back is just icing on the cake! This beautiful dress is perfect on its own, as you can see on Chii, but if you wanted to go all out, you could add all sorts of accessories to it! And if you’re into this style, you could really wear it anywhere. Chii wears this dress when she gets it from Ms. Hibiya in episode 17.

【 Black and Red Gothic Lolita Dress 】 The gothic Lolita look will never go out of style. You simply like it, or you don’t. Rory goes for the Lolita look, but not the sweet, innocent defenseless one, her look is sexier and dark, while still looking as cute as can be. Rory’s dress has a defined waistline and a short but full, frilly skirt mostly in black with red ruffles that peek out at the bottom and the front. The square neckline keeps your cleavage covered and the giant red bow in the back adds color and cuteness. And while you can add all the accessories like Rory, you could also easily pair this dress with some simple heels, knee-high boots or other add-ons of your choice to make it more versatile and wearable for different events or seasons!

【 Long White Empire Line Dress 】 This is one of those classics I couldn’t leave out. Princess Serenity’s dress is a perfect combination of femininity, simplicity and elegance. The empire cut at the bust makes this dress flattering to all body types and the little cap sleeves give it an air of romantic innocence, as does the bow in the back. The double tier skirt makes the dress look ethereal and light and perfect for gliding in. This would make (and has for some!) a lovely wedding, sweet sixteen or quinceanera dress. Any event where you wish to look like a pure, innocent princess, Serenity’s got you covered! Serenity was first shown in her beautiful gown in episode 34 of the original Sailor Moon series. But you probably already knew that.

【 White Plunge Bodycon Dress 】 In Kill la Kill there is an abundance of cool, sexy and out-of-this-world outfits. But if there is someone who is at the top of fashion in that universe, it’s Ragyou Kiryuuin. This is just her standard dress, mind you, and it is certainly not for shy girls. This red-carpet worthy gown is made to be the center of attention with a neckline that leaves little to the imagination, fabric that hugs every curve and a metallic cincher at the waist. The feathers at the bottom are a great touch and while you could wear the dress without it, they go really well with the feather stole! This is certainly not a dress to wear just anywhere, maybe for a giant birthday bash, to host an event or something like that. I can definitely see celebrities wearing this down the red carpet, though. If you want to see more of Ragyou’s amazing sense of style, check out Kill la Kill! She wears this dress in several episodes, but you can see it in episode 11.

【 Purple Geisha Kimono 】 Show by Rock has a lot of cute and cool outfits, but one that really stuck with me was the stylized Geisha look worn by Daru Dayu from the group Tsurezure Naru Ayatsuri Mugenan. While a kimono is its own type of clothing, I chose it because it is one piece and open at the bottom, like a dress! This heavy-looking purple kimono with momiji leaf print has extra-long sleeves that reach the ground and pink lining. As with all kimonos, Daru wears an obi but tied at the front in a big bow shape. The best part of this outfit is the way she wears it. Her shoulders and most of her back are exposed, as well as her legs, which is normally not acceptable while in a kimono. And of course, she wears platform style Japanese sandals. Perfect! I really don’t know what you’d wear this to, but I really want to wear it! Maybe a Japanese-themed party… Though she’s usually hiding her gorgeous self inside a giant daruma-cat, you can see her sexy outfit in episode 4!

【 Blue Princess Ball Gown 】 Even though Mercedes was once a commoner, she is now a Countess and dresses like one too. This gorgeous blue gown is most certainly unique. Not only is it a color that will make you pop, but the intricate (embroidered?) designs, which are different in the bottom layers than in the top, add more elegance and depth to it. More of a typical ball gown, it is modest and keeps you covered with delicate long sleeves. The pointy shoulders and detail in the back add even more to its already unique design. The only thing about this dress is, unless you’re literally attending a ball, I don’t see where else you‘d wear it. But it’s still one of the most unique and elegant dresses I could think of. She wears it in episode 4 of Gankutsuou. One of the things that makes this anime dress unique is that it was designed by a real fashion designer!. Most of the outfits were designed with the collabotation of top fashion designer, Anna Sui. Anna drew herself all the patterns and the fabric prints of the outfits, and they were animated as a collage, that is why the characters move but the prints of their outfits remain still.

From the shadows she comes, death itself, to release you from something, chuunibyou. Lala is the headless Dullahan with an imagination that adamantly refuses to stop. We say headless, really it's just detachable, like an electric toothbrush. A toothbrush that's come to reap your soul. But seriously now, although Lala doesn't get much screen time in the series she's quite adorable when not trying to act like a badass, and is very easy to tease. The fact that Lala's head and body can be in different places at once leads to her numerous ecchi experiences, largely involving bondage and webs. Is it weird? Yes. Is it sexy? We think so. Watching her chuunibyou facade quickly dissipate and her cute red-faced side take over is adorable and sexy, with it quickly becoming obvious that she really lacks any control over her surroundings.

Gung-ho and completely without shame, Zombina is a zombie sewn together from various different parts, though they fit together surprisingly well. Her lack of life has ironically made her one of the liveliest of the bunch, becoming very easily bored when idle, and being pretty chatty even with her enemies. She's also a fan of using her zombie status to freak people out, such as taking her body apart as if it were lego, and being seemingly unable to stay dead. You know, dead dead. Taking Lala's detachable head to another level, Zombina has a detachable everything, which could be...interesting? As the more tomboyish member of the cast, as well as one of the most brazen girls, Zombina has an appeal different to that of the other shyer and innocent girls. With her aggressive personality added to her overall good looks, with a slim waist and sizable chest, Zombina is the perfect fit for anyone who fancies being pranked by a pretty girl.

A dark skinned babe with white hair, Doppel somehow manages to stand out even amongst a cast of monsters. As a doppelganger, Doppel doesn't actually look like that at all, but if she wants to take on the appearance of a naked loli then we're not gonna argue with her. It's a toss up as to whether Doppel is mature or just plain lazy, as she avoids taking part in the rest of Smith's squad's antics, preferring to lurk in the shadows. Ah yes, she's a lurker. Being able to change her shape at will, Doppel can actually be any one of the sexy girls on this list, though that does feel like she's cheating a bit. As she more often uses her powers to play tricks on people instead, though, her main appeal lies in her regular, petite form. Her complete lack of clothing is an obvious plus as mentioned, with only thin locks of hair covering her more delicate regions. Doppel is the transforming tease that can always suit your tastes, whether it's lolis or big chests.

Meroune's obsession with tragedy is on a level you don't often see, even wanting to live it herself and be part of some unusual NTR relationship. This freaky mermaid doesn't mind turning into sea foam as long as it makes for a good story, though we can safely say we'd prefer it if she didn't melt away. Apart from all that though she's a lovely girl, incredibly polite, and clearly from a high-class background, with even the respectable Cerea looking up to her. Mero's gothic lolita style adds to her refined look, even when only wearing a bikini. Often seen in her swimsuit, there's never a time when she doesn't look good, especially considering mermaids are one of the prettiest monster girls out there. Her pink hair and tail are a cute contrast to her masochistic personality, giving her the appeal of an innocent maiden gone bad. Along with her being partial to Rachnera's bondage antics and desire to be a mistress rather than a wife, it's Mero naughty and twisted personality that really makes her sexy.

Kii is here to demonstrate how plants can be sexy too. Yes, that's right, but don't go down the park just yet. Kii is a Dryad who isn't too pleased with humans after a crazy illegal waste incident turned her into a giant deranged tree. With some intense leafy hair and bark in the place of clothes, when she's not on a crazed rampage Kii is a lot more attractive than she realises. With only leaves covering the important parts, Kii is one of the more exposed girls, though she doesn't seem to care. Considering how large her chest is in her adult form, the leaves don't do a particularly good job of covering her up anyway, as well her bark leaving her shoulders, thighs and tummy, exposed for all to see. When she's not had much nutrients she reverts to her cute loli form as well, so that's two for the price of one.

The imouto of Monster Musume, Suu is the dopey, squidgy little sister, often just doing whatever she feels like at the time. Considering she gets on well with Papi, this can often lead to her doing some unusual and pretty stupid stuff at times, though she's always adorable while doing so. With her size and intellect directly linked to how much fluid she's taken in, it's always a surprise to see just how smart and mature Suu becomes when she's had plenty to drink, though unfortunately, she's always quick to go back to her daft, flat chested self. Suu might be the most innocent girl of the show, but she still somehow manages to commit most of the ecchiest acts, if only by accident. With her being a slime, Suu can quite literally be anything you want her to be, whether that's a tall, big boobed woman, a different person altogether, or a convenient blob to carry around in a bucket. Regardless of her form, she always manages to 'escape' from any clothing she happens to be wearing as well, but then that's to be expected of someone so slippery.

Red Bull in flapping female form, Papi is the feathery ball of energy we all need in our lives, though preferably in short bursts. Taking feather-brained all too literally, Papi is seriously slow witted for someone whose mind is otherwise going at mach speed, though her cute nature and constant smile seem to be enough to keep her out of any real trouble. Although she does do a great job of half killing Kimihito at times. Who likes short shorts? We like short shorts! Besides her wings, Papi's main identifying feature is her skimpy clothing, wearing only a tube top and the smallest pair of denim shorts you've ever seen, which aren't even zipped up. Despite her loli appearance, this get-up, along with her naive and excitable nature, gives her an appeal that the other, more physically mature girls don't have. Certainly one for the flat-chest lovers, there's definitely something alluring about Papi's soft, feathery embrace.

Centorea's honorable and pure personality makes her stick out like a sore thumb amidst the ultra ecchi Monster Musume household. Very easily embarrassed, Cerea's large horse lower half only adds to her awkwardness as she struggles to fit through doors and her obscenely large bust gets in the way of just about everything. Frequently various liquids. Despite her constant shame, Cerea considers herself Kimihito's knight, and is ready to defend him and everyone else should disaster strike. With a chest the likes of which can barely be measured, Cerea's best asset is so high level it's almost unfair. Add to that the 'centaur tradition' of not wearing a bra and she becomes subject to some of the ecchiest scenes of the series. Her innocence adds a lot as well, with her getting very easily flustered at anything and everything of a perverse nature. Who doesn't love a blushing red face? Just some food for thought: you can literally ride her.

The main girl of the series, although you wouldn't think so with the attention the others get, Miia is the big chested lamia of the group. Quick to anger and relentlessly clingy, her love for her master is terrifyingly strong, especially for someone that can easily crush squishy humans, or monsters, by accident. Though if she really wanted to get rid of her rivals she could just cook them something, it's amazing how one can make almost any food turn out purple. As the first girl of the series, Miia gets plenty of screen time and ecchi scenes, especially during the beginning of the show. Although very sure of herself, Miia remains constantly embarrassed by just about everything relating to her Darling which is erotically cute. She's also rocking some pretty great proportions, with a slim waist and large chest. Just perhaps not the best route if you're a leg person.

The group's perverted onee-san, Rachnera is the most mature out of the girls, although she often just uses this to assert her dominance over them with her bondage fetish. Although very much in love with her master, Rachnera is by far the most logical out of the girls, with her frequently having to knock sense into the others or sort things out when Miia and Centorea are being overly clingy. Alternatively, she just wraps whoever is causing trouble up in her silky webs and has some fun with them. Rachnera's maturity is what makes her the sexiest girl out of the bunch, giving off the older sister vibe while the others all appear cute by comparison. She's also by far the most forward out of all the girls, very openly telling Kimihito what she wants to do with him, and appearing to have no shame regarding her enjoyment of bondage. Despite Centorea beating her in the chest department, Rachnera's skimpy clothing is much better at emphasising her assets, with her also having the benefit of having a human butt despite her lower spider half. Unless of course, you'd have preferred a spider butt.

The introduction of our first individual to this list is a rather unique one. She gave us a slightly different impression due to her creation, by that we mean she is not fully human. Starting off the list is an adorable android by the name of Mei Mei. She first appeared in episode one of the anime and is Charlotte’s cheerful assistant. She’s almost always in an upbeat mood for an automaton who serves Charlotte and the rest of the Little Garden crew. In a crisis, she has strongly displayed some human emotions of admiration and safety, specifically towards Sakura, Karen and the trio of “hunters.” Mei Mei has grey hair and a long ponytail that twists all the way down her back. She is seen dressed in a fairly traditional black and white maids outfit with some modifications. The most notable mod would be the ears on top of her head that resemble a cat. In addition to the ears, she sports a black tail to give off a more feline approach to a maid. Mei Mei is a high-spirited android who is very pleasing to be around and is always eager to lend a helping hand when requested.

Our next irresistible choice is the younger sister of the main protagonist Hayato Kisaragi. Karen is first seen in a hospital during the first episode. The reason for her being there is she has become ill. When she does take some time to enjoy the weather, she is often getting assistance from Miharu, because she is not able to walk like a normal human being. With her best interest in mind, Hayato decides to become a Slayer in order for her to receive first-class treatment. During her spare time, she uses Tarot cards for pleasure. One could say she is a little bit of a clairvoyant. Apart from her difficulties, she is a vibrant young lady who tries her best to stay positive in a dire situation. She has long black hair and a cute little headband that adds to her innocence. Her hundred is called “Divine Card” and when she activates it, she is able to stand and sing like a goddess. Karen is a truly inspirational character who only wants the best for her brother, friends and everyone who’s going through a tough time. If her looks don’t do it for you, her personality more than makes up for any deficiencies she may have. Her positivity is infectious!

Continuing on we have Erica Candle, who serves as one of the Vice Presidents of the student council. Erica has short brown hair and glasses. She is generally seen as a more conservative dresser, so between the glasses and mannerisms she gives off an immense nerd vibe. She is very loyal to the Little Garden and is seen as a battle strategist. Erica is always giving her best expertise and advice for the fellow newcomers prior to and during battles. Her ability to relay intelligence is hard to come by. Erica’s loyalty to the Little Garden is not the only set of well-placed emotions she carries. It’s shown that she has a strong admiration to the “Queen” Claire Harvey. It’s almost to the point where many could argue that she has a crush on her. One example is where she is seen pushing and shoving her way into Liddy so she can apply sunscreen on Claire. Although quite reserved, Erica has a certain charm that can’t be duplicated in this series. She has a fine figure and the smarts to boot. It’s no wonder she has landed at number eight!

Continuing on with our list is the only male character from this anime that we’ve included. It was a tough choice for us, because we felt Hayato could have easily been included as well. Ultimately there were too many other female characters to include, so Hayato got left out. Judal Harvey is the charming older brother to Liza and Claire. He also happens to be the president of the Warslran Research Facility. He’s a slim guy that sports the similar long blonde hair as his sister, except he lets his flow down his back. He has exquisite sapphire eyes that could make many people swoon from just a single glance. It’s not always fun and games for people that associate themselves with Judal. Oh no, because he works as the president of the Warslran Research Facility he is known to be overly professional and unsympathetic at times. He has a large business man’s mentality, despite his ‘pretty boy’ looks. Judal displays his rather apathetic behavior towards his former employee and girlfriend Vitaly Tinyanof, who she claims he “used and discarded her.” Depending on how you look at his personal choices, he could be a make or break character, but his looks will get him by just fine on this list.

Speaking of the aforementioned Vitaly Tinyanof, she’s become our number six choice for the most irresistible Hundred characters. She serves as the primary antagonist in this anime. Vitaly is a former scientist at the Warslran Research Facility. Vitaly was once infatuated with Judal Harvey; they went as far as dating. Later on, after Judal dumped her, she felt betrayed and her only means of revenge was to shoot Liza, Judal’s younger sister and sink the Little Garden. Now that’s what we say raising the bar to the extreme! The fiery redhead's hair color seems to embody her emotions perfectly. She’s one of the more mature ladies in this show and it’s expressed by her voluptuous curves. Vitaly is a menacing femme fatale that should not be taken lightly. If she went that far over a breakup, imagine what she is capable of if she is provoked even further. Had Judal not dumped her, she would have made a fine girlfriend. She has the talent to develop Savage-like monsters, the smarts to sneak into the Little Garden and finally the looks of a spiteful, but sexy deviant. Learn from Judal’s mistake and you’ll be fine.

We’ve made it the halfway point of this list and things are only going to get better from here on out. What if we were to say our choice for the number five selection would have something to do with “torpedoes?” Does that ring a bell or are you still scratching your head on that one? If you happen to be one of the latter, let us explain. Miharu Kashiwagi’s first appearance was a shocking one for Hayato. As Miharu walked into the room the first thing that Hayato noticed were her ample breasts bouncing. Hayato was so far taken back all he could muster was the word “torpedoes.” Miharu is a nurse at the hospital and has been in charge of taking care of Karen. Nearly everywhere Karen goes, Miharu is right there with her. After all, it’s her job description to take care of patients, but you can genuinely sense that she is a kind and caring girl. Her most memorable moment comes at the beach wearing a small white bikini, only accentuating her matured chest even more. What everyone notices about Miharu is her sex appeal. The director clearly doesn’t hide that fact, and nor should we.

This next character went through a series of names before finally revealing why she had such an identity crisis. Emile Crossfode is the name that most of the cast know her as initially. What’s striking is that it’s not even the most peculiar thing about her. It’s the fact that she poses as a guy through the majority of the series and only a select few know about her true identity, Charlotte being one of them. She told Hayato that her name is Emilia Hermit. Towards the end, everyone finds out (thanks to Claudia) that she is not only a female but a princess of Gudenburg. We find it rather startling that her true gender would go unnoticed for so long. Apart from her secrecy, Emilia is your typical jealous female who loves Hayato very much. It’s quite apparent when she is often asking questions or trying to separate him from the likes of Claire and Sakura. Emilia is a variant, just like Hayato and it brings her immense power that isn’t often matched. What really makes her shine is her commitment to protecting the Little Garden and her overly cute face. She has long silver hair and these captivating green eyes. In the land of large oppai, she happens to stand out quite nicely.

Number three sees the other student council Vice President, Liddy Steinberg join the list. Just like Erica, she is extremely loyal to Claire and is often seen by her side. Liddy is in charge of enforcement, and enforcing she does. It’s clearly demonstrated that she has no problem administering school rules and regulations should anyone slip up. For all that portrayal of being an enforcer; she does have a softer side, especially when it comes to the highest-ranked slayer in the Little Garden, Claire. We believe Liddy easily fits in the irresistible club amongst all these other beauties. First off she has a tremendous mindset for goals and structure. She could be considered a little over the top at times, but her heart is in the right place. The most attractive aspect about Liddy is that she is a sexy authority figure who shows just enough skin but generally maintains her ethics. Liddy’s green eyes contrast terrifically with her tanned skin. Finally, her beautiful locks of hair tied up into a ponytail make us weak at the knees. Liddy’s tall figure and well-proportioned body are certainly waifu material.

Nearing the completion of this list we bring you our number two pick, Sakura Kirishima. She is a pop idol who is adored by many, including Karen. She and Karen became close friends after realizing that they met many years ago at a shelter. Sakura was a huge influence on Karen and it shows with her singing. They later practice and perform together as one dashing duet with their Hundreds activated. Sakura has the ability to captivate everyone in the audience with her voice and presentation, which includes flying around. Her long pink twin-tails and pink eyes are something that gives her a sensitive but more defining look for her fans. Sakura has a style similar to a lot of idols. She’s not used to others rejecting her ideas. She came to meet Hayato after seeing that he defeated the Trenta Savage in the Zwei Island. He later gets assigned to be her bodyguard, and from then on her feelings towards him further escalate. Sakura just has a way of manipulating everyone around her for many reasons, including her voice, charm, style, and appearance. She’s given a superb body and is nearly flawless, she’s well deserving of this spot.

We have come to our number one choice and as always it’s a tough act to follow. Claire Harvey is one of the centerpieces of this anime. Her bodacious assets have been plastered everywhere. It’s hard to not find a picture or a mention of her when anyone brings up or searches Hundred. She is known as the “Queen” of the Little Garden and is the highest-ranked Slayer. She commands this unparalleled Dragoon type hundred that she can manipulate into multiple cannons or transform it into one giant rifle. She has everything going for her, from essentially being the commander of the Little Garden, to unmatched strength and finally one of the finest figures in this series. Claire is a natural leader and can balance love and work. Her lengthy blonde hair is frequently seen in the unique twin drills hairstyle. Claire is one of the more curvy females in this anime and it’s no wonder that she gets a lot of screen time. With that said, she has been through a lot, including having her breasts exposed to Hayato on several occasions, having her breasts fondled, being kissed unnaturally and finally ending up in many compromising situations. She is the forerunner of the fan service in this anime and we feel it’s justified.

The word ‘sexy’ has no meaning in the face of anime lingerie and angled rear ends. Words simply lack the effectiveness against such beauty that transcends our feeble imagination. With that being said, kicking off our Top 10 Anime Girls in Lingerie list is none other than Shiho Shishido from Actually, I Am. When Asahi Kuromine finds out his crush Youko Shiragami is, in fact, a vampire, his world turns upside down as one by one more beings of the supernatural welcome themselves into his life. Including that of Youko’s childhood friend; man transformed into a perverted, busty female at the sight of the moon, Shiho Shishido. The real challenge, however, is whether or not Asahi can keep his mouth tight-lipped long enough for his own sake as well as everyone else’s. Shiho Shishido is, simply put, gorgeous. Every angle is the right angle when Shiho is the subject to capture, and let’s be honest, her magnificent figure will make every man discover a stiff posture, and even have our lovely ladies taking a dive into their own waterfalls. When donned in her kitty lingerie in episode seven, a true sexual attraction is birthed anew.

One button at a time, and voila! Our next inclusion on the list, straight from Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry, is the inescapable Stella Vermillion. In a world riddled with the common use of sorcery, nothing is unattainable. However, for Ikki Kurogane, arguably the worst student in his class, things are the exact opposite. That is, until he mistakenly walks in on Stella Vermillion while in a state of undress. With her short fuse and violent nature, Stella comes off as distant as ever, but when this unlikely pair learns to aid one another, limitations may be nothing more than a figment of their past. Hotter than a fresh baked apple pie, and steamier than a red bean dumpling, Stella has manifested the true experience of seduction. Good things come to those who wait, and with a scene like this kicking in at episode 9, the wait is well worth it. While the action is short-lived, a second truly lasts a lifetime when paired with the sweet virtue that is Stella. And this is barely just the tip of the iceberg. Rakudai Kishi is packed like a subway at peak hour with hot scenes just like this one, so if you’re salivating over more Stella Vermillion, then I suggest you get your sights on Rakudai Kishi sooner than later.

There’s always a pleasure in pulling the seal thread by thread, but Sword Art Online shows us that the undressing of the future— when a few clicks of a button can make it all come off— all but loses its tenacity. Virtual reality is the only reality in the world of Sword Art Online; and when Kazuto Kirigaya (nicknamed “Kirito”) logs on to the medieval world of “Aincrad” without a means of logging out, he is left with nothing but to push forward in his new found digital reality. Together with his comrades, including Asuna Yuuki leader of the guild Knights of the Blood, they fight for their survival and fight to make their way through all 100 levels of the game unscathed, for if they die in SAO, they die in the real world also. Asuna is perfection. Bigger isn’t always better, and Asuna is my exhibit ‘A’. Giving us more of the petite side of things— despite being extremely pretty— Asuna may not have the greatest sex appeal at first glance; but in truth, this little lady will hoot your horn like none other. Simplicity is the key here as all the fancy ornaments play no part in this delicacy. Exposing her gentle body at episode ten strapped in mere white lingerie will have you just begging for more. So if you’re looking to dip your finger in Asuna’s cake, I suggest you get going with Sword Art Online right away.

What’s the difference between lingerie and a bikini? Is this a question that needs an answer? Probably not, because either way the view is pristine and the message is clear. The message that Mage from Bikini Warriors is one hell of a girl that knows how to rock a two-piece. Pitted against ultimate evil, these four girls; Fighter, Mage, Paladin, and Darkelf, don their incredibly revealing bikini armor and set out to save their world from the unrelenting forces of the malevolent. Too bad they can’t seem to get anything right. Constantly outmatched and lacking in sheer warrior mentality, these four ladies have got a long hill to climb ahead of them. Let’s just be happy that the picture is worth every shot. Especially when you’ve got your sights on Mage. She spends all day in a bikini, but squirms like a shy little jellyfish when exposed in lingerie. The logic here might seem confused, but as an admirer, it’s better to ask less and watch more. Right from episode one, the view is as attractive as watching the last moment of a sunset while perusing in the soothing steam of a hot spring. Mage and her gang of busty ladies make for some of the most lustful scenes that are sure to make you drool.

When High school student Issei Hyoudou is killed after being tricked by a fallen angel, he is soon revived by Rias Gremory —a top of the class devil—as her servant and member of the school’s Occult Research club. Fighting amongst angels and demons alike in the name of survival, Rias and Issei will take you on an action packed, comedy filled, romantic ride through the world of High School DxD. This series isn’t quite for the feeble minded, as it knows how to head straight to the point. But amongst all the overtness, it still manages from time to time to allow us to bask in true beauty. The beauty that is anime lingerie; and Rias Gremory for one, is both stunning without it, and scrumptiously good with it. With her perfectly sculpted body frame, and to die for good looks, it would have been a sin to pass her over for our Top 10 Anime Lingerie list. She is captivating, to say the least, and will have you binge watching High School DxD simply out of obsession. So get watching right away, because I’m sure Rias is just waiting to see you.

With her childlike naivety and innocent character, LaLa Satalin Deviluke is the type of girl that makes you just want to pinch her cheeks. Or better yet, palm them entirely. Are we thinking about the same cheeks here? A story about an alien girl named Lala Satalin Deviluke who crash lands completely naked in the bath of Rito Yuuki. Only to later declare him her true love and set her sights on making him her husband. Tasked with helping Lala conform to human life on earth, as well as defending off alien opposition angered at the news of the two’s misunderstood engagement, both Lala and Rito are spiraled into a world of mischief, harem, and comical entertainment. To Love-Ru is a magnificent series per se, and provides many ladies capable of making this list without question, but Lala, in particular, is truly a work of magic. Topped with luscious pink bubblegum hair, this chewy delicacy is dripping sweet love sap from head to toe. Gravity is a blessing in disguise the way how her figure bounces around throughout each passing episode. Lingerie was designed for girls like Lala, and boy oh boy, do they know how to get along well. Lala Deviluke and anime lingerie; a match made in heaven.

Yuki Nonaka— does it get any better? Strapped up in a presentation to make you slobber, this blue-haired love potion will have your legs weak in seconds. Time after time this feisty little lady will turn you inside out with her hills and canyons; especially, when they’re blanketed over by her savory lingerie. Having a new sister suddenly slapped on to your life may seem out of this world as is, but could you imagine if there were two of them? For high school student Toujo Basara, that imaginative thought is nothing short of the real world as he is paired with two younger sisters, Mio Naruse and Maria Naruse, whom may not actually be what they seem. When his childhood friend Yuki gets involved in the mix, things begin to boil in an interesting and rather ‘ecchi’ way. There are a lot of candidates coming out of Shinmai Maou no Testament that could step up to the plate of best anime lingerie; but let’s face it, Yuki tickles that soft spot like none other. Just wait until she shows off her figure in different angles. Trigonometry has never tasted so good.

Yukiteru Amano, your typical high school student, spends the majority of his days writing in his cell phone diary, conversing with two friends by the name of Murmur and Deus Ex Machina. When Deus bestows upon him a “Random Diary” capable of telling him the future, Yukiteru is forced into a battle royal where he must fight against contestants wielding the same diary until he is the last man standing. Paired with the impulsive and clingy Yuno Gasai, can these two overcome the nightmare that is Future Diary? Yuno Gasai; this mixed bag of bolts is a cup of sweet poison just yearning for someone to take a sip. While she may seem like your model student, lurking behind that beautiful and smart girl façade is an obsessive, murderous, loose cannon. However, pain is certainly a pleasure, because seeing her in a state of undress will make you flip. With a slim cut figure, her lingerie fits right where it needs to be. Resembling something of a Victoria’s Secret model. However, the real challenge is finding out how long you can last in bed with her. Alive, that is.

When Simon and Kamina come across an ancient artifact of war, far off in their underground village of Jeeha, a surprise attack from those of the “surface” force these two to learn how to defend themselves in mere moments. Luckily for them, not only did they have this newly found weapon, but also, the unexpected help of the redhead Yoko Littner. Together, the three of them head to the world above in search of what has been made of humanity on the surface. Maybe, however, what they come to find isn’t quite what they’d expected. A girl who’s got it all. From pin-point accuracy to magnificent looks, and a hot-blooded demeanor. The way her body just… flows is likened to a calming creek rifting through a beautiful garden in mid-spring. After watching episode 6 uncut, there’s certainly no way Yoko would have missed this list of Top 10 Anime Girls in Lingerie, for when she’s exposed in her undergarments, the term anime lingerie sets a new standard. A barely clothed beauty in a mecha, sci-fi adventure laced with action. There’s an essence to this girl that just can’t be spoken upon, but once you catch wind of it, you’ll know what we’re talking about for sure.

After Japan falls to what is known as the “Apocalypse Virus”, and become subject to the rule of the GHQ, Shu Ouma, a member of the opposition group Funeral Parlor, fights to help take back what was lost. After obtaining an ability known as the “Power of Kings”, granting him the capability of drawing out an individual’s “void”, Shu works to rid Japan of the GHQ, as well as unveil the many secrets that surround both it and the dreaded event known as “Lost Christmas”; but can he handle the repercussion of his actions? A friend of Shu, Hare Menjou is one hell of a beauty; and when she shows off her sweet frame, the room falls silent. You can only truly admire her work of art when surrounded by serenity and calmness. With her soft character and delicate appearance, Hare will make you fall in love over and over again. Staring down her magnificent frame, fitted in a pair of panties and a thin bra, will make you think nothing short of copulating. Not to mention the fact that she has the heart of a warrior till the very end. Who wouldn’t consider that the perfect gal? Hare Menjou, you’re the real MVP.

With so much chaos spreading throughout the world, it's become a lot harder to find a safe haven in which we can rest our spirits. Miko help to dispel that evil by casting spells on the enemy, turning their once ghastly hearts into a more pure, and free flowing one. When you're confronted with a spirit you just can't seem to shake off, you turn to the maiden to create a forcefield that will protect you from being possessed or carried away. These historical superheros played an extremely major role in Japan, and as such, perform a similar role in anime. In the very popular classic anime Sailor Moon, Rei Hino, or Sailor Mars as we know her, plays the part of a miko in her civilian form using various spells to dispel evil with an Ofuda to protect those around her. Ofuda can be found in various shrines along with households all across Japan and are mainly used for protection against evil spirits.

Many anime aficionado may already know (and probably memorized) of the popular Sailor Moon series, but for those who are still unfamiliar with the series we'll let you in on what it's all about. Tsukino Usagi is a 14-year-old ditzy, and whiny girl who currently attends junior high. She's not really a child prodigy, often failing her tests, and is often reprimanded by her family for her abysmal results. All of this changes however, after a day of unfortunate events, Usagi is startled when she encounters a black cat that can speak the native tongue. The cool cat, Luna, grants Usagi the power to transform into the powerful Sailor Moon, a fighter who is to protect the citizens of the world against the Dark Kingdom and its devilish ruler, Queen Beryl. As aforementioned, Sailor Mars plays the role of a miko in her normal form, performing sacred acts using Ofuda to cast away evil from the world. Rei attaches the talisman to the enemy, which summons both fire and a phoenix as part of the enchantment. Before sending them off to the next dimension Rei screams out “Aku Ryo Tai San!”, which translates to begone evil spirits! This powerful ability becomes a staple in the Sailor Moon series, as you get to see quite a lot of it being used. Rei demonstrates the cultural behavior of a miko very well, as their task is to preserve life and bring happiness to mankind.

The wonderful story of InuYasha follows Kagome Higurashi, a fifteen-year-old girl whose typical ordinary life ends when a demon lures her into a cursed well on the grounds of her family's sacred Shinto shrine. Instead of falling to her death by hitting the bottom of the well, Kagome ends up being transported 500 years in the past during Japan's violent Sengoku era, with the demon's true target, a wish-granting jewel called the Shikon Jewel, encased inside of her. After an arduous battle with a revived demon accidentally causes the Shikon Jewel to smash into pieces, Kagome looks toward Inuyasha to help her collect the shards and prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. Together, the two must set aside their differences and work alongside one another to find the power granting shards spread across feudal Japan and deal with the evil threats that about to attack. Kikyo played an integral role in the Inuyasha series despite some very troubling events that put her life in danger. Kikyo played the role as a miko, and held the responsibility to guard and purify the Shikon Jewel as requested by the Taijiya Clan. She had fallen in love with InuYasha prior to these events transpiring and promised to turn InuYasha back into human form so that the two could be together. Without spoiling much of the plot, Kagome is now the modern version of Kikyo who now holds the sacred jewel, and so InuYasha must protect her at all costs.

Earlier in our article we mentioned how the role of a miko is to cast away evil spirits, and protect those who enter the shrine. They also have role of ensuring that humanity is protected and that the world is purified. Their goal is to make sure happiness is spread throughout society, and to remove any evil energy that resonates inside our souls. Mikos were seen as an extremely important social figure early in history, and were associated with the ruling class of Japan. Their presence meant a lot to the community, as they would perform sacred ceremonies to ensure that those in charge would be guaranteed a humble passing into the spiritual world. With history changing however, so too did the responsibilities of the miko and their reputation, but that didn't stop them from leaving behind a powerful legacy in Japanese culture that lives on today.

When They Cry follows the life of Keiichi Maebara, who has just moved to the quiet little village of Hinamizawa. He assimilates himself quite well and quickly becomes very close friends with schoolmates Rena , Mion , Satoko, and Rika Furude. However, behind all of the light that shines in their new found friendship, a lingering darkness lurks underneath the seemingly picturesque life they lead.As the village prepares for its popular yearly matsuri, Keiichi learns about the local legends that play a major role surrounding the event. To his surprise, he discovers that there have been a large number of murders and disappearances in the village in the recent years, and that they all seem to be tied to the festival and the village's partisan god, Oyashiro. Keiichi tries to ask his new friends about these incidents, but they are awkwardly silent and refuse to reveal any information. As more and more bizarre events occur, Keiichi wonders just what else his friends might be keeping from him, and if he can place his trust in them at all. Rika is one of the main protagonists of the series, and tries her best to ensure that those around her are safe. She is the heir to the local shrine named Oyashiro-Sama and is revered by many in the local town as the miko to go to for help. Rika's appearance is very cute and her happy-go-lucky attitude is what brings a lot of charm to the series. Rika plays a very important role later in the series, and must use her miko techniques to protect the livelihood of the community. We can't dabble much further into what type of techniques she uses, as it would spoil a huge part of the story's arc, so if you want to see her miko powers in action be sure to watch the entire series.

At tenth place, we have the silent but deadly guardian of the granddaughter of Mahora Academy’s Dean, Konoka. Armed with her katana with wooden hilt, she swiftly dispatches any threats to Konoka’s life. Setsuna’s silent and somewhat dismissive demeanour hides her true feelings: Setsuna really loves her childhood friend, Konoka, and would lay down her life to protect her, despite their lack of communication in the beginning of the Negima! series. Setsuna’s swordsmanship is the best the academy has to offer and, given the nature of the Negima! series, it is an added bonus that she is as good in combat as she is beautiful and her enigmatic personality makes her a memorable katana-wielding, magic-thwarting, granddaughter-protecting female anime character. Careful around her though, Setsuna does NOT hold back and she will hit you where it hurts. Ask Negi, he’ll tell you.

Everyone likes cats. Even people who don’t like cats like cats. And those who are reading this must like female anime characters who arm themselves with katana. Himari is both – a catwoman who skilfully dispatches other supernatural creatures with her trusty blade. Due to one of her ancestors being spared by the protagonist’s, Yuuto Amakawa’s family of demon slayers, Himari is loyal to the Amakawa House and acts as a bodyguard, protecting Yuuto from danger. Himari’s catlike nature, her somewhat alluring demeanour and her excellent fighting ability with her katana in tow make her one of our favourites. Himari cares deeply for her master, Yuuto, and, like many other characters who engage in combat, she is subject to intense fits of rage, making her a formidable opponent. Who says house cats can’t be guard dogs?

Extremely childish and adorable, yet a keen fighter wielding the infamous Reiki, Aya Natsume makes her appearance at 8th on this list. Having had her first blade broken in a fight, Aya decided to borrow one of her sister’s swords. This blade, as fate would have it, was the evil katana which supposedly drove her brother, Shin, to insanity, the Reiki. The sheer length of the blade, technically classifying it as a nodachi, and its ominous dark purple glow gives the adorable Natsume Aya an intimidating aura. Handed down through the generations of the Natsume family, Aya’s Reiki was intended to be wielded by her sister, Maya. Irrespective of who it was actually meant for, Aya is one of our favourites due to her elite swordsmanship and of course, her beauty. Long, flowing brown hair coupled with a sword longer than life itself, Aya Natsume is a long-term female katana-wielding legend and has found her place on this list faster than she could find a long-term replacement for her broken katana.

In a family restaurant, you expect good food and company, and in some cases, a great place to work with friendly service. However, at Wagnaria, you are greeted by a plethora of eccentric servers and one really friendly waitress with a katana strapped to her waist. Wait, what?! That brings us to our 7th katana-slinger, but in this case, “slinger” is not the correct word. Todoroki Yachiyo is a waitress and Chief-of-Staff at Wagnaria Family Restaurant. Todoroki is known for her katana which is always sheathed at her side. This clashes with her personality: Todoroki is a kind and caring person, a mother figure to some of her colleagues, obsessed with Wagnaria’s manager, Shirafuji Kyouko, and an airhead. An adorable airhead. Despite these qualities, the katana sheathed at Todoroki’s side intimidates her colleagues and customers; however, she only ever draws the blade in extreme cases where she feels that the manager is being taken away from her. Completely oblivious to the feelings of the intimidated masses, Todoroki continues to serve them with a smile every day. How could you not love her?

Captain of the Kendo Club. With long black hair and an old-fashioned yet stylish approach to her school skirts and a knack for utterly pulverising the undead, we bring to you Busujima Saeko. Being the captain of the Kendo Club gave this katana girl a great advantage when the world was overrun by zombies. Busujima’s swordsmanship is beautiful and it is mesmerising watching her dispatching “them” with ease. Perhaps the main reason why Busujima Saeko is on this list is because of that scene. The scene where she defied all the laws of physics and let a bullet find a small but adequate space between her breasts to firmly lodge itself in the brain of one of “them”. Busujima’s movements are beautiful. Her demeanour is badass. Her swordsmanship allows her to defy physics itself and Busujima is the best at giving the undead a mouthful of steel. Busujima Saeko, there is no risk of friendly fire when she’s around!

With a personality so cool she could’ve been Erza’s understudy during casting, we have our next katana girl, Kagura. Bearing one of the biggest grudges and roughest exteriors in the Fairy Tail universe, Kagura is without fail, one of our favourites. Her expert swordsmanship and tough lady personality make her instantly likable, but she has a softer side we love as well. Living her life to avenge the death of her brother, Simon, Kagura has honed her fighting ability and gone from a helpless child to a capable and dependable fighter. Having pledged allegiance to the Mermaid Heel guild, Kagura and her trusty blade have made their mark in Fiore. Fighting isn’t all she’s about; however. Kagura is human just like everyone else and shed tears upon hearing Erza’s explanation about the conditions surrounding her brother’s death. Kagura’s tragic backstory, determination and loyalty to her friends make her a katana girl worth remembering.

Armed with the task of obtaining all of Shikizaki Kiki’s legendary swords is our fourth katana-toting dame, from the story all about katana, white-haired Togame. NisioIsin really did a number on us when he came up with this story and a character as entertaining, as frustrating and as likable as Togame. Featuring so high up on a list filled with katana-bearing ladies, it would be just to assume that she is competent in combat. She really isn’t. However, coming into contact with several katana made by a legendary sword maker makes her worthy of the “katana girl” title. Togame is a shrewd and intelligent yet somewhat innocent and goofy character whose silliness and interactions with her environment make her more than memorable. She’s a complicated character hidden under layers of simplicity. She also threatened to give everyone at Honey’s a “cheerio!” if we didn’t put her on this list.

Eyes and hair a bright crimson and blade alight, presented with the task of defeating the Crimson Denizens is our number 3, the Flame Haze, Shana. At first, ironically, she is cold and dismissive, but as she begins to show more of herself, as Shana begins to learn more about humans through the protagonist, Yuuji. Shana is one of our favourite katana girls and on this list because she is the ultimate tsundere – completely going against her very title and the very flames which envelop her during combat, Shana goes from hot to cold in an instant! Her appearance during combat is one of the most beautiful works of animation and her hot-headed tendencies make her fighting a spectacle. Shana cares deeply for the friends she makes and as the series progresses, she experiences romantic love. Shana is adorable and makes our hearts burn with every swing of her sword and every denizen slain. And stain this sky red…

Another red-eyed heroine features at second place on our list and she is nothing to scoff at. Akame is an assassin of the Revolutionary Army and one of Night Raid’s most skilled killers. Her Imperial Arm, Murasame, is a katana worthy of being called a demonic sword. Murasame’s ability allows Akame the ability to kill with only one strike – contact with the blade invokes a curse which kills its victim. So, stay far away and avoid the blade and everything will be fine, right? Wrong. Akame is a trained assassin and one of the most formidable fighters the Empire has ever produced. Agile with sharp senses and an unbreakable resolve, Akame is one of the most terrifying opponents and a very comforting ally. She appears aloof but cares deeply for her friends and every death tests her very resolve. She also likes meat, a trait which contrasts her very serious and battle-oriented profile. With a terrifying blade and insane movements in combat, Akame is a staple ingredient in any list of this nature. Any list which does not feature Akame, she will gladly “eliminate”. Any last words?

Topping this list of katana girls is the heroine who started it all for Kurosaki Ichigo, Kuchiki Rukia. As a Shinigami in each, Rukia has the incredible abilities of her Zanpakutou or Soul Slayer at her disposal. Her sword, Sode no Shirayuki or Sleeve of White Snow is said to be the most beautiful in the entire series. Rukia is an expert swordsman and master of the Kidou or Demon Magic, she is incredibly fast and boasts a keen intellect. Her personality is calm and collected, despite this; however, she has a cute side, being completely obsessed with anything rabbit themed. Rukia is terrible at drawing and she has been told several times. She is a very closed-off individual and keeps to herself, deeming it better to suffer in silence than to let others suffer along with her. Rukia is a selfless character, sacrificing herself to save Ichigo when she barely knew him, allowing him to use her powers to defeat the hollow which threatened his family. Her humble beginnings keep her level-headed despite her adoption into nobility. Rukia carries herself with an air of confidence. Rukia is the first Bleach character ever conceived and one of the most popular characters of the series. Her cool personality and secret concern she has for the people around her give her great dimension as a character and thus, she is the number one katana anime girl. Her name is Rukia. Kuchiki Rukia.

Most often when we do these countdowns we like to kick things off with a bang. This number 10 selection fits that bill to a tee. There’s no need to blink or rub your eyes, you are indeed reading that title correctly. If you’re familiar with this series you know that god made an appearance in episode four. Hane initiated contact with him at the side of the road. God has made several appearances throughout this anime but we felt his appearance in the final episode was his best. In an episode featuring many absurd events, the one we want to highlight has the motorcycle club looking for magazines in “Tatsuya Book & CD.” Hane finds God at the checkout and notices that he’s buying the “VIBE” magazine. She thought VIBE was for females because there are generally women on the cover. Little does the naïve one know that it’s a sexy magazine with naked females straddling bikes. She takes a look through it and to her astonishment finds a pinup model and twice mentions that she sees her pubic hair. God simply slaps her around a few times and pays for his smut. Once you get past the initial shock, laughter quickly takes over this moment.

During episode eight Hijiri is happy because her birthday is coming up and soon she will be able to ride a motorbike on her own. She shocked the club by announcing that she already has a motorcycle license. She was able to obtain one by simply using her wealth to purchase one in a foreign country. All she had to do was take a rewrite in Japan and she got it reissued to her. Realizing that she didn’t know what a yellow traffic light meant, Onsa cut up her license right before her very eyes. Hayakawa bought her a Honda Super Cub from Onsa’s father. It was said to be easier than riding a bicycle but that didn’t improve Hijiri’s confidence any. Sadly, she wasn’t able to ride a bicycle either, at that time. Hijiri with little confidence wiped out several times trying to ride the bike, including a failed attempt at getting on the Super Cub. Finally, she put some gas to it and she flew down a flight of steps only to flip the bike and land head-first on the ground. Frustration clearly at a boiling point, she got up with a look of malice on her face and proceeded to take a sledgehammer to the bike! To her surprise, the bike still worked after the beating it received.

After a fun-filled adventure exploring the roads with their bikes, the girls spotted a hot spring connected to the ocean. Onsa and Rin had their reservations about the whole idea, due to it being visible from the outside but also because it was a mixed gender spring. Despite their hesitant nature, the girls got in after seeing Raimu, Hane and Hijiri take the plunge. It never felt so liberating being a delinquent some of them urged. The scene really starts to pick up after Rin moves to the ocean side and bends over at the side of the spring. Rin, the curviest female of the group certainly becomes the stand-out of this scene, much to her dismay. While she’s bent over enjoying the situation, Hane points out that she has something on her left butt cheek. It turns out to be a Suzuki logo, naturally. The group was under the impression that it was there purposely, but oh no, Rin tells a tale of how she received it. Episode four delivers a fun story about Rin and her father riding a bike and they get into an accident that sends a young Rin comically flying in the air and landing on a steaming hot Suzuki hood logo on a car, thus permanently branding her.

This next quirky selection is from episode nine towards the end of the show. The motorcycle club has returned for another year of school and they’re eager as ever to convince new students to join the club. They quickly realize it’s not an easy task to get students who don’t know anything about motorbikes to join a club with them. The club, after all, is a little daunting for newcomers because they should have some knowledge of bikes. In addition to that, have a license so they can ride together and do group activities. The motorcycle club devises a plan to perform an awe-inspiring showcase of everything that is great about riding motorbikes. Orientation comes along and the pressure is on for these girls. What they come up with is one of the silliest (but hilarious) moments from the entire series. The four girls walk on stage with bike handlebars and proceed to sing and dance while explaining how to ride a bike. Needless to say, the majority of the audience laughs at their spirited performance, with Rin getting the most pleasure out of it. Chisame tries to redeem the club, but even her serious explanation of bikes on stage fails miserably. All in all, this was a great scene.

In the debut episode of this series it follows one of the main characters Hane, riding her bike to school up a tremendously steep hill. After seeing others riding their motorbikes, Hane later meets up with Raimu. Raimu gives Hane a test ride and she quickly falls in love with the experience. She then decides that it’s in her best interest to get her own bike and license. This is where our next great moment comes to us at. The first major test for Hane is to stand up the fallen bike to its normal position. At first, she fails, but she tries again and accomplishes this by receiving helpful tips from, get this, the motorbike itself. The bike comes installed with a trainer voice named Baita, who assists newcomers. Baita is a female and helps aid Hane in the most curious of ways. She often tells stories about giving her body up to men or having their crotches in her face. She even explains to Hane, to treat her bike the way she would treat a man. She’s a unique and amusing personality that eventually becomes one of the catalysts for Hane passing her test.

Let’s keep going on this wonderful ride as we come to episode five. For motorbike owners out there, have you ever had the urge to wear your swimwear and cover yourself in soap, only then to rub your body on your bike? I’m willing to bet a lot of you would answer with an emphatic no. Well, this is exactly what happened during episode five. The girls are proud owners of their bikes and rightfully so, but some felt that your typical bucket and cloth wasn’t enough to do it justice. After a long and hectic adventure to Hokkaido the girls made it back in one piece, so what better time than to clean the dirt off the motorbikes. Onsa elects to take a more traditional route, whereas Hane gets this “brilliant” idea to use her body for more coverage. Naturally, Rin catches a glimpse of it and her competitive nature sparks up and she finds herself equaling Hane’s effort to clean. This scene provides us with more than enough fan service and it’s sure to get some hearts racing by the end of it. Raimu is the last to finish up on her bike and immediately after doing so, it rains. That concludes a witty ending to an eye-catching scene.

Back to episode eight we go with another fantastic moment from Bakuon!! This time, the moment takes place during the second half of the episode, where they focus more on the Christmas holiday. The motorcycle club has a Christmas get together which includes the usual, such as, food, decorations and gift giving. Onsa receives a rather narcissistic gift from Rin. It turns out to be a handmade doll of Rin riding her Suzuki GSX400S Katana much to Onsa’s disappointment. During Onsa’s tirade over how self-absorbed Rin is, she drops the present destroying the doll. More specifically, the head falls off! The thoughtful but often dim-witted Hane lends a helping hand and fixes the problem by gluing the head back on and reinforcing it with tape. Everyone around is skeptical about the repair done by Hane, most notably Onsa, who seems to think it’s a rather ominous look with that tape around the dolls neck. Hane catches up with Rin who was out delivering pizza and hands her a gift, since she missed the gift exchange. Rin opens it to find that it’s a lovely pink scarf. Rin puts it on and as Hane bikes away she realizes the irony of the taped up doll and said scarf. It leads Hane to wonder if it’s a bad omen. It turns out it was great luck for Rin and terrible luck for Hane.

Just like the previous selection, we’re going back to yet another episode we have touched up on. That would be episode five, the one that delivers the most fan service in the entire series. This scandalous scene took place prior to the bike wash during their stay in Hokkaido. The girls met up with Saruko Saruyama unknowingly. She is a teacher from their school. Saruko was deeply gazing off into the sea, when all of a sudden she disappears briefly only to reappear on a bike trying to bike-dive off Cape Soya. Ultimately the teacher failed and she received assistance from the motorcycle club. Saruko was very much distressed and the girls could sense it. They all stayed together at the “Shimizu Inn.” During this time Saruko confessed she had been dumped recently by her thirteenth boyfriend and love was getting her nowhere. Obviously, she was emotional and drank enough alcohol to get her in a frisky mood. Once Hane passes out from the smell of Saruko’s alcohol, she tries to take advantage of Hane. Saruko lifts up her shirt to nearly expose her breasts and when the club tries to stop her, she turns her attention onto them. She pounces on Onsa taking her shirt off and follows that up by offering to lick Hijiri’s feet. Finally, she gets to Rin and takes her shirt off and tugs at her pants. This prompts Hane to say that alcohol is a scary thing. In this case, it sure was.

We’re down to our number two selection from this list. It comes by way of episode seven of this fun anime. The motorcycle club was to provide an optimal experience and showcase their very own bike race. This included several laps around the school. As the race is about to start, we’re introduced to the MC, “The Evil Queen Veda, Hijirian.” Hijiri didn’t take part in the race but was instrumental in creating the track and more specifically the “Panel That Somehow Cools Your Engine When You Go Over It.” Right out of the gates Raimu takes a nasty spill and she falls to the ground and is knocked out of commission for a good chunk of the race. This provides the other three, Onsa, Hane and Rin to finish before her. However, Raimu eventually gets back up and her skill and experience get her back in the race. She effortless gains all the ground she lost while she was down and it becomes a tight race. This is where that panel finally comes into play. Throughout the race, the girls avoided using it, much to the dismay of Hijiri. During the final stretch, Raimu goes over it and it freezes her engine sending her flying in the air once again. She gets blasted with such force that she almost won the race! It was a hilarious moment in the series and you almost have to feel bad for Raimu.

We’ve come up with a spectacular list that has now brought us to our number one character moment in Bakuon!! This comes courtesy of episode eleven. The girls are introduced to a hardcore cyclist that claims that bicycles are better than motorbikes. He’s determined more than ever to prove it to them. Long story short, he wipes out and ends up on the back of Hijiri’s family owned limousine. The next day Rin and Onsa head to school via the train because it’s raining and it’s not ideal for their bikes to be out in that kind of weather. While on the train both Rin and Onsa pass out and during this, Rin drools and drops some of her saliva on Onsa’s hand. This provides a wake-up call for Onsa who ends up licking the saliva off her hand, thinking it was her own. This causes Onsa to feel sick and misses school due to her newly diagnosed “Suzukiphilia.” Rin visits her at her house and she catches her about to lick a motorbike. This radical behavior also included Onsa becoming obsessed with Suzuki, just like Rin. Onsa’s family eventually got her back to normal by using the “death by praise” idea. It was a bittersweet moment for Rin, who wasn’t exactly sure how to take it all in.

Now, now, the principal isn’t part of µ's, but she is the mother of µ's member Minami Kotori and contributed a lot to the school idol project, and heck, she helped the girls go to America in the movie. She’s no idol, but she’s part of what made µ's as it is today. Principal Minami was never seen in casual clothing, and most of the time she’s in school with her suit. But despite that, she is a very sharp dresser with a suit matching her overall appearance. Her long dull gray hair goes perfectly well with her white and gray colored suit, that literally defines color uniformity. Nothing in her appearance stand out of place and with that snappy look, you can be confident that this woman can get any job done thrown at her.

Good at sports and often seen as a tomboy at first, Rin had undergone a major transformation over the course of the series… in terms of fashion sense. You see, back when she was young, kids see her as this tomboy who loves sports and doesn’t wear any skirt like any other girl her age, and they teased her appearance at lot. Around high school and a member of µ's, we see her more of her feminine side coming out, and there’s even an episode dedicated to her transformation. Ever since Rin wears skirts with matching clothes and oftentimes her clothes have cat-themed designs on them. Rin can’t “Nyan~” without cats, don’t you agree?

If you put Honoka on a cute-to-mature scale, Honoka is around the middle part of the cute spectrum—cute, but not overly cute. Honoka isn’t the stylish type and doesn’t have any noticeable preference in clothing other than preferring the color orange and sometimes pink, but any casual clothes look good on her. And that to her cheery, optimist and determined personality plus orange-brown hair, blue eyes, and that side ponytail hairstyle, anything she wears gives off that cute aura.

Shy and sometimes quiet (outside her enthusiastic self when doing idol stuff), Hanayo is that perfect high school sweetheart that will take care of you when you’re sick and is more than happy to cook for you. Outside for being an idol and wearing either cute dresses to ridiculously designed ones, Hanayo is very modest with the clothes she wears favoring normal length skirts (anime standard kind of short), pants and the typically patterned sweater. Though her choices are nothing to drool about, it goes well with her high school sweetheart look and her modestly sized breasts. It must be the white rice she loves to eat every day… All the time.

Aside from her typical casual clothes modern Japanese girls wear, Nozomi wears shrine garbs because she has shrine duties, and is often seen as a traditional Japanese girl like Umi. But unlike Umi, she is more open, playful, and mischievous, especially towards her friends. If Umi is the traditional and well-reserved Yamato Nadeshiko, Nozomi is the free-spirited type who loves to play around. And it’s kinda silly knowing she follows Japanese shrine traditions while reading fortunes with Tarot cards.

Umi is a conservative type who is conscious on what she wears. She avoids cute styled dresses and if you force her to wear one, chances are she’ll die of embarrassment within seconds (unless you compliment her that she’s cute). She also prefers wearing full tracksuits during training when running through town or around a school. Eventually, she got used to wearing short skirts and while she still avoids the frilly types, her choice of clothes are often mature and oftentimes unspectacular. However, this goes well with her tall height, long bluish hair, and almost droopy eyes, making her one of the most well dressed and mature-looking girl in the group. A natural Yamato Nadeshiko.

If you take Eli’s picture in her casual clothing and edit her in magazine covers about fashion, you can easily convince people that Eli is the actual cover girl. Eli is a tall young girl with well-shaped proportions, has blue piercing eyes and has blonde hair, often tied in a ponytail. Plus she’s partly of Russian descent so she’s a natural-born supermodel. Aside from the frilly style clothes µ's use, Eli commonly wears Western-styled clothes like buttoned shirts, preferring jeans with matching boots. Eli’s style of clothing is nothing spectacular, her height and Russian blood makes her one of the mature-looking girl in the group. She does wear a skirt sometimes, but jeans naturally look better on her.

Nico, despite her, well, “colorful” personality, she prefers frilly clothes or anything that gives off a cute vibe. You see this in her casual wear, choice of clothes when at home, and the clothes she wears when practicing. Even without the NicoNico personality, frilly clothes goes well with her small build, black hair and her twin tails hairstyle. And let’s not forget the fact that Nico is interested in fashion and she’s µ's costume designer. If you want some of the most stylish of clothes, Nico is the right girl to ask. And for now let’s ignore the fact Nico’s look and personality were retconned in the anime—OH MY GOD WHY DID YOU DO IT SUNRISE?! LADY NICO WAS PERFECT!!! ;_;

Kotori is no stranger to fashion and like Nico, she is also the costume designer for µ's. She knows how to make the group stand out and let’s not forget that part of the appeal of an idol group is how they look. For the most part, Kotori shares the same style of clothes with Nico, Eli and Maki like wearing coats, buttoned shirts, with patterned scarfs (depending on weather), cotton or linen shorts paired with knee socks, or sometimes jeans. But ultimately, Kotori has natural beauty with long grayish-brown hair, amber eyes topped it off with her pleasing personality and voice that makes any casual clothes look fantastic on her. Remember, she is once known in Akihabara as the “Legendary Maid” due to her combined looks, a personality that goes will with those stylish maid outfits. Oh and a bit of a trivia, according to the Love Live! Diaries, Kotori used to wear longer skirts because she had a defective leg. None of the girls knew this besides Umi. Eventually, Kotori had undergone surgery and started wearing shorter skirts after the marks were gone.

What makes Maki number one? The simplest answer would be: She looks good with everything. LITERALLY everything. Yeah, that’s it. Some of the girls are good at one or two things like Rin looks good in cute clothes, and nothing much else, while Umi and Eli prefer mature-looking clothes. In Maki’s case, she looks good at everything from frilly clothes, kimonos, suits, and even casual wear. Give her a few clothes and chances are Maki will look good in them. Why is this? It’s the combination of her looks and personality: She has reddish hair, striking purple eyes, with modest height and body sizes. At first glance, she looks very mature and very unapproachable, but once you get to know her, she has the qualities of a tsundere who is unsure of her feelings. She can be very stubborn at times but often shows off her cute side by blushing at silly mishaps, or getting all embarrassed when her friends found out she still believes in Santa Claus. This kind of reasoning won’t give you that definite solid answer, but physical looks and personality is a big contributor when looking good and any plain clothes will look spectacular or stylish if they’re worn by the right person. Maki is arguably the most beautiful girl in the anime and the most versatile when it comes to looking good.
