Top 10 Anime Demon Girls [Updated]

The world of dating can feel like heaven or hell. We’ve all had some relationships where our significant other could easily be described as a b*tch from hell. The fortunate thing about anime is that even demon girls can be heavenly sweet. A population of devilishly darling girls ranging from high school succubi to ditzy demons, regal vampire queens, and DD demon lords live out their lives, some in simple slice-of-life and others in epic story arcs that give Bram Stoker a run for his money. We now count down ten of the cutest creatures of the night in anime. This is an update to an older list so be sure to check out the original below too!
10. Kurumu Korono from Rosario + Vampire

Kurumu Korono is a demon girl with the heart of an angel. She is a student at Yokai Academy and is deeply in love with Tsukune Ano. She’s also a succubus. You’d imagine that it would be easy for her to ensnare Tsukune with her aphrodisiac powers, but he makes the decision that getting him to love her through magic is wrong. She wants him to love her because of who she is, not because of a spell. She is one of the most honest characters in the series and one of the most dependable ones, too. Kurumu is always the first to throw herself in front of danger to protect her friends. She cute and sexy all rolled up into one. She has a killer body yet wears a baggy sweater and loose-fitting socks that gather around the ankles. Kurumu even wears a blue ribbon that matches her blue hair. You combine her cute appearance, sexy body, loving personality and the fact she can bake you all the muffins and pastries you want and you get a succubus that doesn’t need any special powers to entice your devotion.
9. Ai Enma from Hell Girl

Ai Enma is very different than most of the girls on this list. She is, in fact, an actual demon spirit and a servant of Hell in the way most of us think of Hell as a place of punishment. Ai, which ironically can mean love, is a quiet girl with long black hair and red eyes. She is often seen wearing a black seifuku, or sailor uniform. Her work as a servant of Hell is a form of atonement; Ai was sacrificed to a mountain god centuries earlier by her village, but she dug herself out of her grave and burned all the villagers alive. She is now summoned by those who think they’ve been done wrong. In exchange for their souls when they die (naturally), she’ll drag the other party to Hell immediately. Her personality seems a little detached but the more you watch her story she seems like she still has feelings and is looking for excuses, or just hoping that people will choose not to contract with her. Her fate of being punished for exacting a just revenge is tragic and leaves you hoping that there’s some way she can find happiness.
8. Elucia De Lute aka Elsie from The World God Only Knows

Elsie has a similar job as Ai from Hell Girl in that she sends spirits escaped from Hell back, but she’s a complete 180 personality-wise. She is a bubbly, earnest and sweet girl. Elsie teams up with Keima, a high school student and dating sim master, in order to expel spirits from teenage girls by filling the holes in their hearts with love. In many ways she is a go-getter, working her way up from janitor in Hell to soul-catcher, though it did take her 298 years. Elsie has a good heart, despite causing problems for the people around her. An example of that is she tells Keima’s mother that she an illegitimate child of her husband’s in order to stay with Keima in the role as his little sister. Keima’s mother accepts Elsie right away, then goes off to beat the Hell out of her traveling businessman husband. Despite being a bit of a dork, Elsie is good at her job. Elsie and Keima collect loose soul after loose soul and she looks adorable doing it.
7. Lilith Asami from Trinity Seven

Lilith Asami is a teacher at the top-secret magic school Royal Biblia Academy. The academy’s job is to train mages to stop what is known as the break down phenomena, a magical plague that dissolves organic matter and had spread over the world. Her job, as a teacher of course, is to guide and train Arata, an immature, sex-obsessed mage. Lilith’s main goal is to prevent Arata from becoming a demon lord by teaching him to control his potential power. She doesn’t sound like a demon, does she? Yet, it is revealed that she is in fact Lilith Azazel, the daughter of a demon lord who had her memories erased. Hence, qualifying to be on this list as a demon. Lilith is an amazing mage, one of the most powerful in existence. She’s also a knockout with a PhD in L-U-S-T. No, we’re serious. Her thema, or cource of study, is the magic pertaining to the sin of lust. Lilith is rather prudish for a mage that studies lust and makes a great foil for the sex-obsessed Arata. She on this list for her beauty, brains, and overwhelming power as a mage.
6. Vignette April Tsukinose from Gabriel Drop Out

Horns, check; spade tail, check; bat-like wings, check; malicious intent, nope; bad to the bone, not even close; Vignette April Tsukinose may be a demon by birth but she’s an absolute angel of a girl. She is the demon next door and best friend to the protagonist Gabriel, a foul-mouthed slob and MMORG-obsessed angel. Vignette does her absolute best to take care of the wayward angel by getting her out of the house and to school as often as she can. She is genuinely adorable as a demon; she doesn’t lie, cheat, or litter and is the first person to offer help if you need it. Vignette is a demon girl goody-two-shoes and we sometimes wonder what she’d be like if she let her little hellion out. I’m sure she’d do something bad like not wash the dishes right away. She is a full-blooded demon but seems absolutely divine.
[ad_middle]
5. Mina Tepes from Dance of the Vampire Bund

Mina Tepes is the ruler of all vampires and dragged the entire species out of the coffin and into the light of day, figuratively speaking. She has arranged in a deal with the government of Japan to establish a “Bund,” an autonomous region within a state, on an island off Tokyo as a homeland for vampires. Mina is a shrewd leader. She has to be a cunning leader to assemble political power and economic might. The vampire queen has to fight factions from within the vampire world and from the human world to defend her dream of an island nation. She has several faces she shows to the world: the queen, the warrior, and the girl. We are never sure which is the real Mina. We’d like to think the real Mina is the one we see when she is with her bodyguard and lover Akira Kaburagi. She’s a smart girl who enjoys teasing the boy she loves and has a heart full of love for him and her people.
4. Satanichia McDowell Kurumizawa from Gabriel Drop Out

Satanichia is an arch-demon bent on conquering Hell and Heaven. She will hone her skills by not doing her homework, teasing angels, and not separating her recycling. She is truly a demon, one descendent from a long line, and ready to leave her mark on the world. The reality of Satanichia is a little different. She’s an idiot. She thinks she’s truly being evil by leaving the cap on the bottle when she recycles it. The dimwitted demon is also the perfect mark for Raphael, an angel that has a better chance of becoming a demon lord than most demons. Raphael truly enjoys toying with extremely gullible Satanichia. She’s like the redheaded dorky little sister you’ve always wanted. We even feel bad for the girl, she’s continually taken advantage of. We know she is a kind girl who’s always willing to help those in need. She may be a demon but she’s also just a dork worth mentioning in this top 10.
3. Mio Naruse from The Testament of Sister New Devil

Mio is a beautiful teenage girl with long red hair and a fiery personality. She tends to have a bit of a short temper, but that’s understandable considering that she watched the people she thought were her parents get killed and then finds out that she is the heir to the deposed demon lord. Along with her body guard Maria, a succubus, she devises a plan to dupe a widower and his son into taking them in. They don’t realize that their marks are immune to their spells. Instead of kicking them to the curb, the father and son decide to take them in and protect them. Convinced by Maria, Mio forms a magical contract with their new step-brother Basara, a contract that will alert him if she’s ever in danger and also makes her his servant. If she disobeys him or thinks bad thoughts about him the magical contract makes her very horny. The lustful punishment is a great contrast to her conservative demeanor. Mio is most of all just a teenage girl trying to figure out who she is in this magical world recently revealed to her. We like Mio because her character develops from a scared girl putting up a front of toughness to a girl with power and the knowledge of how to use it.
2. Rais Gremory from High School DxD

Rais Gremory is the youngest sister of Lucifer, which gives her more than enough street cred to appear near the top of this list. She lives her life as an everyday high school student and the president of the Occult Research Club, a club filled with other demons. She is, as a lot of demon girls we come across, a red-head with a killer body. She does her best to take care of her friends and balance the demands of her station as a devil elite. The demons that follow her as members of the club normally have to go out when summoned by someone and do their best to grant their wishes, mostly mundane stuff like keeping someone company. We like Rais not because of her power or her aforementioned rocking body, but because of the gentleness and humbleness she shows as she wields that power. She is arguably one of the most powerful demons in the story yet cares for others and doesn’t rule like a tyrant. She treats the members of the club like a family and will do anything to protect them. Rais earns our respect, our devotion and love as an elite that understands the idea of noblesse oblige.
1. Satou Sakie from Interviews with Monster Girls

We’ve all had that one high school teacher we end up having a crush on and Satou Sakie is no exception. Even though she does everything she can to make herself less attractive to avoid the attention. Satou lives alone in the country; she takes the first and least-crowded train to work in the morning and home at night. She even wears a track suit, no makeup and keeps her hair in a ponytail -- all to seem less attractive. The trouble she goes through to be less appealing almost works. You see she is a succubus and emits pheromones that arouse most men and even some girls. We can’t help but like her, pheromones or not. She adorable, too. We love watching her deal with her conflicting feelings in regards to her crush and fellow teacher Takahashi Tetsuo. She is an honest and caring teacher, though she may keep her students at arm’s length for their own protection. She knows that standing too close or god forbid actual physical contact can bring on a dangerous amorous reaction in people. We love her for her self-sacrifice and living a rather lonely life all to protect us from ourselves. It’s a sacrifice that puts her at number one on this list.
Final Thoughts
The life of a demon girl never seems easy. You always have one crisis or another to take care of. You, if you’re fortunate to be the male protagonist in one of the stories, will often have some trial of your own. You just need think of Tsukune Aono from Rosario + Vampire and his multiple near-death experiences. You don’t need to convince us it’s worth dating a demon girl; we know it is, because what’s a little life and death for the devotion of your demonic dear?
[en]Original Article Below[/en][es]Versión anterior[/es]

Like moths to a flame, human beings seem to have an innate fascination with the dark side. A few hundred years ago, during the height of literary Romanticism, the genre of Gothicism emerged, entrancing people from all walks of life to the nooks and crannies that lurk within the darkest shadows. This fascination never really left man, it seems, since people to this day remain drawn to things that are dark and gothic. This is prominent in a lot of things, including anime, which features storylines and characters that lie very close to the darkness. In fact, characters of the dark have become quite endearing in anime, with a good number of them being deconstructions of their usual depictions. Thus, anime is rife with demon girls who have good hearts, and girls of the dark that look for nothing but the pureness of love. In this list, we will be exploring ten of anime’s most notable demon girls. Here goes the Top 10 Demon Girls in anime.
10. Rias Gremory from High School DxD
[imageCharacterWithAnime character='
' anime='
']
[Information episodes=" 12 " aired=" January 2012 - March 2012 "]

One cannot think of demon girls in anime and miss Rias Gremory of High School DxD. The red-haired, busty beauty of this ecchi, harem anime not only has killer looks, she has killer powers as well. Born into the prestigious House of Gremory, Rias is imbued with the Powers of Destruction, a rare ability that disintegrates matter, both living and inanimate. Despite her great power however, she still retains a soft spot for her perverted love, Issei, and she never hesitates when it comes to going to great lengths to protect him. A demon through and through, Rias is the first girl in our list.

9. Yura, the Hair Demon from Inuyasha
[imageCharacterWithAnime character='
' anime='
']
[Information episodes=" 167 " aired=" October 2000 - September 2004 "]

Yura is a hair demon that challenged Inuyasha during the first episodes of the anime series. She reveres hair, to the point of her practically worshipping it. In fact, she is so enamored with Inuyasha’s hair that she desired to kill him for it. She uses her hair in a variety of ways, from weapons to tools of manipulation. Eventually, it took both Inuyasha and Kagome’s combined efforts to fully bring her down. Though Yura appeared very briefly on the show, she was nonetheless very notable among fans due to the fact that she was the first real threat to Inuyasha and Kagome. She is also the first enemy that was so powerful, the anime’s main pair had to work together to defeat her.

8. Mirajane Strauss from Fairy Tail
[imageCharacterWithAnime character='
' anime='
']
[Information episodes=" 175 " aired=" October 2009 - March 2013 "]

Mirajane is one of the sweetest girls you’ll ever be introduced to in Fairy Tail. Apart from her extremely sweet persona, she is also very pretty, as proven by the fact that she has posed for Sorcerer’s Magazine multiple times as the guild’s poster girl. Though her outward persona is that of a petite, harmless girl, Mirajane hides immense power inside her. In fact, during her past, she was even the rival of Erza, one of Fairy Tail’s most powerful mages. Eventually, during the battle between Freed and Elfman, Mirajane finally snaps, unleashing the immense power inside her. As it turns out, her true power, called Take Over: Satan Soul, is one of the most powerful in the guild. She easily overwhelms Freed, who, despite using his demon powers himself, can simply not hold a candle against this innocent-looking, gentle, demoness.

7. Nerine from Shuffle!
[imageCharacterWithAnime character='
' anime='
']
[Information episodes=" 24 " aired=" July 2005 - January 2006 "]

Nerine, or Rin, is the only daughter of the King of the Devils. However, her demeanor and disposition is completely the opposite of her family background. Behind her bloodline and dark magic, which she does unleash at times, lies a sweet, good-natured girl who likes nothing more than to love and be loved. Personality-wise, Rin is demure, speaking in a formal manner most of the time. She is also very shy, especially in relation to her beautiful voice, which is so beautiful that it is dubbed as “Angel’s Bell.”

6. Youko Shiragami from Jitsu wa Watashi wa
[imageCharacterWithAnime character='
' anime='
']
[Information episodes=" 13 " aired=" July 2015 - September 2015 "]

This perky, memorable girl from the hit anime Jitsu wa Watashi wa holds the 6th place in our list today. Though she’s technically a half-vampire, she nonetheless possesses a number of characteristics of the conventional anime demon girl. Born to a vampire father and human mother, Youko goes to a school under the condition that her vampirism must be kept secret. It was a pretty fair arrangement for the pretty half-vampire, but when her secret gets discovered by Kuromine Asahi, who just happens to uncover her secret as he is about to confess his love to hear, things get very very interesting.

5. Miia from Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou
[imageCharacterWithAnime character='
' anime='
']
[Information episodes=" 12 " aired=" July 2015 - September 2015 "]

Among the girls in this list, Miia is probably the one who actually looks very inhuman by default. Born as a Lamia, a half-human, half-snake subspecies, she is one of the first nonhumans that was assimilated into the human world. Assigned as the first ward of Kurusu Kimihito, a hapless volunteer of the Cultural Exchange Between Species program, she aims to integrate herself to human society as effectively as she can. Everything’s not that simple though, as her arrival essentially turns her ward’s life upside down. Despite her nonhuman appearance though, Miia is extremely sweet, naive and carefree. She also has a knack of being very clingy when she sleeps. Eventually, Kurusu starts getting attracted to the buxom and pretty Miia, but there’s only one problem - the law on interbreeding between humans and nonhumans is extremely strict.

4. Yuka Kamitsuki from Kemonozume
[imageCharacterWithAnime character='
' anime='
']
[Information episodes=" 13 " aired=" August 2006 - November 2006 "]

From this gritty, unique anime comes one of the best star-crossed lovers story aime has offered in the last decade. Yuka Kamitsuki is one of the Shokujinki, a race of flesh-eating demonic monsters that can assume human form. While working as a skydiving instructor, she falls in love with Toshihiko Momota, a man who has trained all his life to slay those of her kind. After the truth is revealed, Yuka and Toshihiko decide that love is more important in their lives than the factions that divide them. Among all the girls in this list, Yuka is probably the one that can definitely be nightmare fuel, as her appearance as a Shokujinki is nothing even remotely close to looking human.

3. Mukuro from Yu Yu Hakusho
[imageCharacterWithAnime character='
' anime='
']
[Information episodes=" 112 " aired=" October 1992 to January 1995 "]

Among all the girls in this list, Mukuro is probably the most intimidating due to the sheer amount of power she holds within her. Classified as a Superior S Class Demon, she is one of the Three Kings of the Demon World, and is said to be the second most powerful among the Three Kings during her prime. In the manga, it was stated that the only one who holds more power than her is Raizen in his prime. She was closely related to one of the main characters in the series, Hiei, whom she fought in the final tournament of Yu Yu Hakusho’s plot. However, it was stated that she actually hold back her power during the tournament, in order to give her competitors a fair fight. Ruthless, powerful, and somehow even beautiful, Mukuro is arguably one of the strongest demons in anime.

2. Priscilla from Claymore
[imageCharacterWithAnime character='
' anime='
']
[Information episodes=" 26 " aired=" April 2007 - September 2007 "]

Among the ridiculously powerful awakened beings in the Claymore universe, Priscilla is the one that arguably holds the most notoriety. It is said that she is one of the most powerful Claymores that the organization ever created, to the point that she immediately shot up to Number 2 after becoming a full Claymore. She crossed swords with the series’ most powerful, Teresa, in a deathmatch where Priscilla eventually awakened. Her power was so immense that once she awakened, she becomes the most powerful awakened being, even exceeding that of the three former Number Ones that awakened. She is, however, the ultimate target of the series’ main character, Clare, whom she considers insignificant. Imposing, overpowered, and, just like Mukuro, strangely beautiful, Priscilla is this list’s Number 2.

1. Enma Ai from Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl)
[imageCharacterWithAnime character='
' anime='
']
[Information episodes=" 26 " aired=" October 2005 - April 2006 "]

At the top of our list is a girl that works under the Master of Hell himself, Enma Ai. After a painful experience of betrayal in her past and after exacting revenge upon those who betrayed and gave her pain, Ai attracts the attention of the Master of Hell, who persuades her to work for him as the Hell Girl, a messenger of vengeance for people with a strong hatred in their hearts. Through the centuries, she has worked for Hell’s master, exacting revenge and sending souls to the Underworld. Personality-wise, Ai is very reserved, and due to her painful past, she rarely shows any emotion. However, she does show traces of her humanity from time to time, especially when she gets bound to send an innocent person’s soul to Hell. An otherworldly spectre that ferries people’s souls to Hell itself, while retaining the appearance of the eponymous anime girl, Enma Ai is our list’s Number 1.

Of course, I’m pretty sure I just scratched the surface of anime demon girls with this list. Thus, if there are any notable characters that you would like to add to our list of female demonic fatales, feel free to mention them in the comments below!

Top 10 Yandere Girls in Manga

There’s an old saying in the world of romance, love hurts. In the world of the yandere girls, this statement fits all too perfectly. While yanderes may show you undying love and devotion, they tend to be a little scary—or extremely scary—if their love is threatened or if they are crossed. However, regardless of this scary love, we here at Honey’s Anime can’t get enough of the yandere ladies out there. That’s why we decided to show our love—and fear—of yanderes in a list titled Top 10 Yandere Girls in Manga. This deadly list of yandere girls in manga must be explained first to those who may want to judge us right away. While there are tons of yandere girls out there, we wanted to show some love to most of the manga only girls. These are yandere girls in manga who haven’t been given the love they deserve and we here at Honey’s Anime want to correct that. Now then, if you’re ready to meet some of the more deadly vixens out there let us begin this yandere girls in manga list without any more delay.
[ad_top2 class="mt40 mb40"]10. Noeda Kanade from Hiai Mousou

School teacher Kadomae Kazuma is about to run into a troubled student named Noedaa Kanade. While at first glance Noeda just seems shy and quiet, the horror of her true personality begins to unleash as Kazuma gets to know her better. You see Noeda has a lot of love for our teacher. However, while it may sound cute, Kazuma begins to see that Noeda’s love for him is excessive. How will Kazuma handle a crush that begins to become terrifying? Teachers have it kind of rough. Usually they must maintain law and order in their classrooms despite the sometimes-troubled students that occupy their roster of kids, but we don’t think many have run into the issue that teacher Kazuma has with Noeda. While still young and naïve, Noeda makes our list of Top 10 Yandere Girls in Manga thanks to her love being anything but normal. If you want a girl who will give you gifts that aren’t apples, then we recommend the very yandere Noeda Kanade from Hiai Mousou.
9. Saedano Minami from Cock Robin wo Korosu no wa

School yard games should be fun for most students. Unfortunately for Hidaka Kishi, his soon to be school game will be far from the word fun. While enroute to class with a friend, Kishi hears an old song play called Who Killed Cock Robin on a radio. Shortly after the song begins, a strange killing game starts at Kishi’s school with him as the primary target. Luckily a fellow female student named Saedano Minami seems to want to watch his back. Kishi wonders why doesn’t Saedano want the prize of getting her wish fulfilled and instead, wants to protect him? Almost any game is easier to play when you have someone watching your back. Though when you have Saedano Minami watching your back, you may have to be a bit weary of her ulterior motives. Nevertheless, even if Saedano may be a bit overprotective, having a cute yandere like her wouldn’t be such a bad thing. That’s why if you’re about to enter a killing game—which we hope doesn’t happen to you and doubt it will—then we suggest teaming up with the cute and smart Saedano Minami. Is it just us or is school a breeding ground for yandere girls in manga like Saedano Minami?
8. Rio Miyaichi from Ana Satsujin
For Etsurou Kurosu, his failings in life have finally become too much for him to handle. Deciding to end his life, Kurosu decides to hang himself. However, during the process Kurosu panics and ends up surviving all while breaking a hole in his wall. When Kurosu looks through the new hole, he sees his beautiful neighbor Rio Miyaichi and decides to make her his new lease on life. Though as Kurosu soon learns, Rio has a rather dark hobby…she loves taking lives of men who enter her domain. Rio then see Kurosu and offers him an ultimatum; he can survive but he has to love her and accept everything about her even the murder aspect of her… One thing any good romance expert will tell you is that you must accept your significant other, even the worse side of them. However, for yandere Rio Miyachi from Ana Satsujin, this means accepting a murderer as your significant other. Sure Rio is cute, but could you handle a girl who literally loves to murder for fun? We here at Honey’s Anime won’t say our answer to this but we will say if you want a cute yandere who loves and kills in equal strides, Rio will be the perfect companion for you.
7. Remina “The Strange Lolita” Kanbe from Ibitsu

In the middle of the night, an innocent chore became a catalyst for something horrible. Itou Kazuki ended up seeing a strange girl just watching him. Even when Itou returned to his room, the eerily strange girl continued to gaze at him from afar. What Itou will soon learn is that this girl is anything but normal and is someone who will become a part of his life. However, is this new element to Itou’s life a good thing or a horrible nightmare waiting to become real? Strange people should be avoided. This is something most would tell you if you so happen to meet one. However, if you want a strange girl to end up working her way into your life, you’ll be hard pressed to find any better girl then Remina Kanbe. With stalker qualities and a desire to be part of your world, Remina is a yandere through and through. Just be warned, accepting Remina into your life means you’re going to maybe have some interesting and dark events befall you…
6. Tsubasa Tooka from Abnormal-kei Joshi

Shiina Shinya’s perception of the girls around him is pretty harsh. However, most could understand why Shiina believes this. That’s because most of the girls who seem to surround Shiina are all very strange and odd. Can Shiina deal with all the girls who seem to love him in their own creepy way? Find out in this horrific manga known as Abnormal-kei Joshi. Picking a girl from Abnormal-kei Joshi isn’t an easy task. 5. Mai Mashiro from Dead Tube

The internet is known for housing various video websites but none are as infamous as Dead Tube. On Dead Tube, people post videos of morbid and overly graphic videos that are ranked based on views. While Tomohiro Machiya would rather continue his filming for his Film Research Club, he ends up having to film for the site once he encounters a psychopathic girl named Mai Mashiro. Now, Tomohiro must continue filming various horrible acts or else he will face fatal consequences. A lot of women and girls hate overly violent movies and videos. Though there are obviously some who are obsessed with the darkness that you can find in some video content. That line definitely applies to Mai Mashiro from Dead Tube who not only loves disturbing videos but loves being the star of them. Mai has always apparently loved Tomohiro after seeing a video he did when she was younger but her love comes at the price of working with her in some horrible and grisly acts. If you’re not afraid of a wild girl with a desire for the spotlight, you’re probably going to love the yandere known as Mai Mashiro.
4. Yuno Kirishima from Uwakoi

Yukiteru’s world is about turned upside down when he gets involved in a terrible love triangle. On one hand, Yukiteru has his childhood friend who loves and admiration is borderline on psychotic. Then a new girl by the name of Saotome Rena ends up falling for Yukiteru when he learns of a secret she has. Both girls are beautiful as Yukiteru would agree, too, however, behind their beauty each girl is filled with darkness and troubled minds. Have you ever wanted a girl to carve her name in your stomach? If your answer for some reason is yes, we direct you to our number 4 yandere Yuno Kirishima. Yuno might be a cute childhood friend on the outside but inside her there is a dire need to be loved and recognized over other girls. Yuno Kirishima is a girl you don’t want to cross but equally if you love her she will probably not hurt you or anyone else. Seriously though, we could do without the carving her name in our stomach thing…just saying.
3. Ayaka Tachibana from Re:Birth- The Lunatic Taker

Reiji Tachibana has found his hometown to be the center of an odd event as of late. A mass amount of suicides have been taking place around town and most think it’s due to a legend surrounding odd artifacts known as death accessories. Reiji thinks this can’t be the case and his very protective sister Ayaka agrees. Though when Reiji finds and picks up an odd bracelet on the street, he learns that the so-called death accessories are very much real. Now Reiji and his sister are about to become part of a death game where blood will be shed… Family is very important to us here at Honey’s Anime. Though maybe having a sister like Ayaka Tachibana might be a bit much. Ayaka and her brother are forced to undergo a strange metamorphosis and in the process, Ayaka becomes imbued with power which she in turn uses to protect her brother who she loves maybe a bit too much. Though thankfully we’re not related to Ayaka, we love her dark yandere side even if she’s a legit killer. If you want a strong girl who has killer moves and looks then you’re going to want to choose Ayaka Tachibana.
2. Misa Amane from Death Note

Imagine for a moment you could control the fate of a man with just their name? Light Yagami, who was a normal high school student, is about to gain that power thanks to a special book called the Death Note. Dropped from a place unknown to man, Light picks up the Death Note and learns he can literally write the name of someone he’s seen and kill them via the Death Note. Even when Light learns from the Shinigami that dropped the book—named Ryuk—that he is destined to go to neither heaven or hell when he dies, Light continues to use his new power to remove the criminals from the world. However, when Light’s non-stop killings begins to get noticed, he begins to become hunted by those who don’t like his vigilante justice. One-part idol and one-part die-hard Kira fan, Misa Amane takes the second spot on our list of Top 10 Yandere Girls in Manga. Misa doesn’t just act like a killer girlfriend like some yandere girls in manga on our list, she actually uses her own Death Note to kill for her man Light. Misa is the type of girl who once she falls in love with you—in this case Light—she will literally show you how much she’s willing to do. Misa was a must for our yandere girls in manga list and we know a lot of you are breathing a sigh of relief that we included her. Honestly, we wouldn’t mind having a girl like Misa but we would probably tell her to not kill anyone…
1. Yuno Gasai from Mirai Nikki

Amano Yukiteru is a young man who has lived most of his life being a social outcast. Amano’s only friend comes in what seems to be a made of being named Deus who happens to be the Lord of Time & Space. Though one day Amano learns that in reality, Deus is in fact a god and has asked Yukiteru alongside several others to participate in a very strange game using their cellphones. Each phone user must try to eliminate one another till only one remains and their reward for being the last man standing is to gain the power of the now dying god Deus. Whether or not Yukiteru wants to participate or not is out of his hands and if he wants to survive he will have to rely on his phone that can predict the future. Coming in on our top spot is the infamous Yuno Gasai from Mirai Nikki. If you want what many—including us here at Honey’s Anime—consider the ultimate yandere, then all you need to do is look for Yuno and her obsessive and overprotective personality. Yuno single handedly is the one who keeps Yukiteru alive for most of Mirai Nikki but also is quick to do very odd things to him as well. Yuno is a girl that once she locks in on your love, it may be impossible to stop her from being with you 24/7. While this does intrigue us it also terrifies us, which is why Yuno takes our top spot on our Top 10 Yandere Girls in Manga without any competition.
Final Thoughts
Yanderes may be scary but there’s just something we love about them. The idea of a girl showing her love in some of the most eccentric ways probably is why most are enticed by the yandere arch type in manga. At the end of the day whether you love these yandere girls in manga or not, once they have decided to be yours there’s no escaping their love. Now then with our list done let us know have we satisfied your taste of yanderes? Drop a comment down below to tell us and if you loved this list we have hundreds more for you to read here at Honey’s Anime.

The GM announces that he purposely did not make a ‘logout’ button to test players’ strengths and abilities. Moreover, as the virtual world affects them wholly, harm inflicted would take effect in the real world. Many are frightened by this circumstance, but emerging from the ranks, Kazuto “Kirito” Kirigaya takes the lead, having knowledge of gameplay as a beta tester. Here, we watch Kirito face various challenges, meet new players, and gain levels and experience. Asuna Yuuki, in the beginning, had her head in the game, totally focused, and absolutely fearless. As we watch this close Master and Butler relationship, we will regret seeing the day Sebastian reaps Ciel’s soul as part of the deal. Sebastian Michaelis is one hell of a butler! Ciel and Sebastian have great chemistry and watching the two of them interact with one another is incredibly entertaining. With abilities that surpass the average house butler, Sebastian demonstrates the highest regard for loyalty and service; ensuring that the household runs smoothly and that all of Ciel’s needs are met. Acting with the utmost courtesy and looking so fresh and clean, remember that if crossed the wrong way, Sebastian will show you his dark side!

Fairy Tail tells the journey of Lucy and her guild-mates on a myriad of adventures. In Lucy’s pilgrimage towards becoming a strong mage, Mirajane Strauss, one of Lucy’s guild-mates, as well as a mage, is very present. The dynamic of each member of the Fairy Tail guild provides positive attitudes and energies to stimulate personal growth in this world of magical competition. Mirajane is a popular favorite in the anime community, as she is one that exhibits both brains and beauty. When she was younger, Mirajane was not always known as the girl she is recognized as now among her guild-mates, but as someone who was aggressive, hot-tempered, and all around sporting a bad attitude. After a series of tragic events lead to her magical skills disabling, Mirajane blossomed, for the best, into a loving and caring individual, treating both friends and strangers with kindness. Acting as a maternal figure for the guild, she is very protective of her guild family, rarely showing any hostilities unless provoked.

Call her the girl version of Sherlock Holmes, Victorique displays her classy ways with intellect, showing off her impressive investigative, strategic, analytical, and reasoning skills. Victorique can also be described as charismatic, fluent in the art of persuasion in order to manipulate others into doing whatever she wants easily. Holding herself on a higher level than the average human, she has every right to hold her chin high, leaving us speechless with her extraordinary abilities.
3. Emilia from Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Re:ZERO –Starting Life in Another World-)

Enthralled by this damsel in distress, Subaru comes to her aid and assists her in her quest. When they finally determine where the thief has taken her item, they unfortunately are killed in the vicinity. However, moments before this tragedy occurs, Subaru reaches out to her only to find that he has appeared in a familiar surrounding. How is it that history is repeating itself? Watch and see to find out! Emilia is a gorgeous silver-haired half-elf girl who is warm-hearted, good-natured, and puts the needs of others before her own. Emilia is a candidate to become the next ruler in the upcoming royal election, but can only qualify once she recovers the stolen insignia stolen by Felt. As she is dedicated to becoming a representative for the people, Emilia’s diligence makes her classy, labeling her as a leader that everyone can rely on.
2. Sukeroku “Shin” Yuurakutei from Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu

Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu is a distinctively riveting anime chronicling the traditional Japanese form of comedic storytelling, Rakugo, which means, “fallen words.” The story occurs between the past and present, as it spotlights various artists who strive to keep this form of entertainment alive. Moreover, we get to experience the dynamic and unique forms of Rakugo demonstrated by Yakumo “Kikuhiko” Yuurakutei, Sukerouku “Shin” Yuurakutei, Konatsu, and newcomer, Yotarou. As viewers observe the artists’ dedication and audience engagement, we are shown the very many trials and tribulations each of these men and a woman encounter in order to do what they’re truly passionate about. Apprenticed under Yakumo Yuurakutei (VII), Shin differs as a performer from Kikuhiko because his style and form of storytelling is more charismatic, personable, and very avant-garde in comparison to the traditional style that has been passed on for generations. With a number of reasons to share why artists love to perform, Shin endlessly reveals to viewers that Rakugo is life because of the audience’s overall reaction to his storytelling. Even though he is a single act, his performances from start to finish create a booming presence.
1. Kaori Miyazono from Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April)

Your Lie in April follows the life of Kousei Arima, a piano prodigy and notably known as the “human metronome”. After the death of his mother, who played a significant part in his piano career, Kousei begins to suffer from an ailment, rendering him unable to hear the sound of his music. Because of this condition, Kousei stops playing the piano. As some time has gone by, Kousei then has a different outlook on being a pianist when he meets Kaori Miyazono, a lively and effervescent violinist. With her help, Kousei rediscovers his true passion for piano and the feeling he gets from doing what he loves. In this anime, we observe characters that are really intense and animated, driving viewers to root for this duo’s success. Kaori is a stunning individual who became a shining beacon during Kousei’s grave situation. Free-spirited, brave, and encouraging, Kaori’s constant optimism beamed rays of hope to those around her even though her own life was slowly deteriorating. As she saw Kousei as an inspiring and talented musician to collaborate with, Kaori’s classiness resonates elegance, support, and passion unparalleled by the other artists surrounding her. With that being said, Kaori ranks number one on our classy anime characters list, as she stands in a class of her own.

Top 7 Princess Principal Characters with the Most Tragic Story

Warning: this article contains some spoilers. If you haven’t watched Princess Principal yet, we recommend you to do before reading the article. Knowing how and when to lie, being prepared to rush or attack… the five heroines of Princess Principal gave us a few lessons on how to be a rocking spy in the middle of enemy territory. However, despite their artful deception ways, the show slowly revealed us what is behind their facades. A story of the war between two factions fighting for the control of a country was ultimately complemented by the tragic stories of the people who were suffering the consequences of that war. Do you want to revive the most tragic stories in Princess Principal with us? Let’s go!
7. Eric
This scientist was working under the Kingdom of Albion. However, he desires to cross the wall that divides the country towards the Commonwealth territory. Thus, the mission for the Shirohato spies (our girls) is to bring him to safety. The puzzling part is that Eric suddenly requests to bring his sister Amy, too. That and plus his odd behavior. The mission that opens Princess Principal could not be more impactful. A brilliant guy who is in danger requests protection from the Commonwealth and is subject of a persecution together with Shirohato. The details about his sister and the revelation of a painful truth about both is what makes of Eric a tragic character. And well, the ending of the episode was too shocking to tell.
6. Prefect
This lady spy appeared in one of the last missions of the first season of Princess Principal. With the look of a frail but capable secretary, Prefect turns out to be one of the most efficient agents of the Commonwealth. She is only second to Ange! However, Prefect’s role in assisting Shirohato in one of their missions will prove to be more relevant than it is evident at first. We really don’t think too much about other members of the Commonwealth faction, as most of the story of Princess Principal is focused on our five Shirohato spies. That is why the introduction of Prefect is such a breath of fresh air. Nevertheless, what starts as a casual spying mission ends up in one of the most tragic twists in the story. We really have to add points for the rivalry between Prefect and Ange, while Dorothy remains an interesting contrast to Prefect.

5. Beatrice
Our lovable “Beth” might appear like a crybaby at first glance. She is the youngest of our spies, with a cute high-pitched voice. If we compare her to the other Shirohato members, we notice this girl always wears elegant clothes, covering most of her body. However, Beatrice’s story is more complicated than what it seems. We meet her as Princess’ helping hand, a noble on her own accord. Always suspicious of Ange, Beatrice is the personification of loyalty. The only reason why she became a spy was to make sure that Princess was going to be safe after all! Nevertheless, when Beatrice gets altered, her voice starts to change? It turns out that a series of experiments gave her the ability to imitate voices, as long as she has heard them once. This would not be much disturbing or tragic if not for the fact that her own father experimented on her. Yes, that’s the stuff of nightmares. No wonder Beatrice does not trust others easily.
4. Chise
Where do you usually meet your mates or your friends? At the school? At the office? At parties? When you are a spy, you can meet them anywhere, even think they are enemies. That was the case for the introduction of Chise, a bodyguard for Lord Horikawa, who is member of a Japanese delegation in Albion. Chise looks like a frail and short Japanese girl in traditional clothes who is clueless about the culture in Albion. Chise’s tragic story was presented in a compact but impactful way under a single chapter. She is considered as the best warrior among the Japanese delegation, but one could seriously doubt it if we just see her cute interactions with a kid in the railway. Calm, composed and a bit distant, Chise confesses to Ange that she is seeking revenge of the assassin Toudou, who killed her father. What is revealed by the end of the chapter and the solitude we can see in that image of her figure by the sunset make of her one of the most tragic characters in Princess Principal.
3. Dorothy
To be fair, we don’t see much of Dorothy in the first chapter of Princess Principal. It turns out that she is the head of Shirohato, and her personality is masterfully uncovered in the following episodes. Seductive? Yes. Thoughtful and reflexive? Oh, yes. Coldly efficient when required? Sure! Who could say this beautiful and deadly spy who enjoys the rush of the missions and a good bottle of wine after them has a tragic story? We should learn that appearances are deceiving. In the mission at the Morgue, it is revealed that Dorothy ran away from an abusive father and poverty to become able to stand for herself. That is the main reason why she became a spy, as it might be dangerous but pays well. During the mission, Dorothy fights and even hits her father, only to be reconciled near the end. The reason is that there are always two sides of the story (meaning that his father wasn’t originally abusive). But oh, the tragedy… better watch it by yourself with a pack of tissues.
2. Ange

It was time that we introduced the de-facto protagonist of Princess Principal. Ange is the most capable spy at the Commonwealth School, but is lead by Dorothy, who is older and more experienced in life. Ange is a master not only of disguise, but also at lying, knowing when other people are lying as well. When she was sent to Queen’s Mayfair School, Ange usually acted as a shy and well-mannered student. The tragic part of Ange’s story starts with her past. It turns out that she is the real Princess Charlotte, but due to an invasion to the castle, she was left in the streets with the clothes of her beggar friend. Thus, the little girl had to survive as best as she could (it is implied that her ability to lie was enhanced by the incident). Ange’s true personality is quite cold and untrusting, always alert to avoid her true intentions being discovered. Actually, when someone is close to revealing Ange’s authentic human self (like her caring side), she shrugs it away to talk about the “Black Lizard Planet”. However, probably the most tragic thing about her is when Ange is betrayed by the person she least imagined. Nope, we are not going to say who ;)
1. Princess

Princess Charlotte, nicknamed Princess, is the most diplomatic and gracious lady you could imagine. Even when she becomes part of Shirohato, her calm demeanor and generous personality has saved the situation more than once. Many people love Princess because she always thinks of everyone else. Her dream is to become Queen so that she can destroy the wall dividing the Kingdom and the Commonwealth. Ange herself said once that the most tragic among them was Princess. Once a poor little girl named Ange, she befriended the real Princess and was stuck in the palace after the revolution that divided the country. Panicked at the possibility that anyone would discover that she was a normal citizen, Princess studied day and night. From barely knowing how to read and write, she eventually mastered many languages. Palace etiquette, history, dancing… Princess was always scrupulously about monitoring her own behavior and knowledge. By the time she was a member of Shirohato, Princess already was a true royal, putting her own life at risk in order to achieve her dreams… which might sound heroic, but is also a magnet for tragedy.
Final Thoughts
Ultimately, what we can see about the characters of Princess Principal is that, not matter how hard life might be, you can always find a companion. Yes, even in the middle of a revolution and chaos, you can find your team! So, which was your favorite character of the show? Would you like a second season? Don’t forget to comment! See you soon.

Top 10 Tsundere Girls in Manga

Tsundere, the concept every man and woman knows if they read manga or watch anime. Though most could name some of the more popular tsundere girls in anime, very few can name all of the manga orientated tsundere girls. Though that isn’t the case with us here at Honey’s Anime. We love any tsundere girl and we want to let you all know about the manga tsunderes that don’t get enough love. That’s why we welcome you to our Top 10 Tsundere Girls in Manga list. Now, we won’t say every girl on this list is obscure. A few of our entries will be popular tsundere girls thanks to their anime counterparts and manga lineage. However, we wanted to show our love to tsundere girls who are from mostly manga only sources and thus we scoured through hundreds of manga to craft this tsundere girls in manga list. By the end of our Top 10 Tsundere Girls in Manga list, you’re going to have some new waifus that’s for sure. Now the, let us venture forth into a world of beautiful but tough girls who just don’t know how to show their cuter sides easily.
[ad_top2 class="mt40 mb40"]10. Jin Gouhara from Ane Pani
Changing one’s own image can be quite tough. Just ask Jin Gouhara, she can tell you the struggle. While Jin is trying to show her twin brother Konoe that she can be cute and kind, it’s not fully possible to hide the other side. You see Jin is someone who is quick to get angry and lash back at anyone who rubs her the wrong way. Jin’s quest to prove she can be normal begins during her high school year… Starting our Top 10 Tsundere Girls in Manga list is Jin Gouhara from Ane Pani. Let’s be honest folks, the appeal of tsundere girls is that they are soft on the inside and tough on the outside, which we mean their personalities mind you. However, Jin isn’t just tough outside but also inside as well. Jin may try to hide her foul mouth and cruel demeanor behind a cute act but it usually falls apart in this one-shot manga. Nevertheless, Jin is still a cute girl that we love for at least trying to mind her manners and be cute. Sounds like a great tsundere if we do say so ourselves.
9. Saya “Anego, Angelica, Angie” Ikushima from Onidere

Tadashi is a guy you could consider pretty kind and laid back. At school, Tadashi isn’t part of a sports club or athletic club but instead a member of the handicraft club. Tadashi’s main skill is knitting and he finds incredible enjoyment doing so. Meanwhile, alongside him is Saya who is the polar opposite of Tadashi and also his girlfriend. Though if Tadashi should ever let it slip that the so called strongest girl of the area who is also the leader of the gang known as Onigarashi is his girlfriend, she will kill him. Saya could be used as a checklist for the tsundere application form. Tough, strong and quick to swoon over her man—which she wouldn’t admit to Tadashi—Saya is a tsundere through and through. Tadashi, indeed, has it rough with Saya but in the long run, he should be pretty happy to have a girl like her. Thus, Saya has been deemed all too perfect for our list and we’re sure you’ll agree from our description alone. Though we do have to worry a little bit about falling in love with a girl who threatens murder just because she’s too embarrassed to show her true side.
8. Yukio Kuroki from Kyou no Yukio-san

Girlfriends can be a handful at times. You may have a partner now by your side but depending on the girl, they could be filled with headaches at times. This is something Tomoya Tadano knows all too well. Tomoya’s girlfriend by the name of Yukio Kuroki is cute and he loves her something fierce but Yukio is also a tsundere which makes her love a bit hard. Journey alongside Tomoya and Yukio’s daily lives and how being a couple for them isn’t the easiest thing in the world. Yukio Kuroki from Kyou no Yukio-san might be what some could consider a great girlfriend but you have to realize she’s a tsundere. As we see in Kyou no Yukio-san, Yukio’s tsundere habits make her a tough girlfriend to have. Quick to lose her cool, Yukio will bite your head off if she feels annoyed or agitated. Though we still love Yukio and like Tomoya we see past that tsundere shell she has. Hopefully you will agree with us once you check out Kyou no Yukio-san if you haven’t already.
7. Tomoko “Chiiko” Akiyama from Sekitou Elegy

Satoshi Yanagawa has it rough. Satoshi seems to have found a cute girl that seems to be right up his alley. However, this cute girl known as Tomoko “Chiiko” Akiyama isn’t the kindness girl around. Tomoko’s rough personality make her hard to approach and Satoshi finds himself trying to somehow get on her good side. Can Satoshi melt the heart of his dream girl or will his attempts end in failure? We here at Honey’s Anime respect any working girl. That’s why Tomoko—nicknamed Chiiko—Akiyama is perfect for our list. Not only is she cute, hardworking and self-motivated but she is a tsundere and that makes her love even more. Tomoko might be oblivious to romance but as we see in Sekitou Elegy she comes around slowly. If you want a working class tsundere then your best bet lies in Tomoko.
6. Haru Jigokumeguri from Ojojojo

Wealth and fame may get you a lot in life but it won’t get you everything. A prime example for this comes in the form of Haru Jigokumeguri. Drifting from school to school, Haru has never found herself feeling wanted or making friends. Though in one of her newest schools a transfer student named Kawayanagi Tsurezure has somehow find a way to befriend Haru. Watch as these two very different people end up as friends and possibly even lovers. Rich girls seem to be another theme for most tsundere girls. That is very noticeable in Haru Jigokumeguri from Ojojojo. Ruthless, quick to belittle those under her and spoiled, Haru might turn away most from loving her. However, we here at Honey’s Anime love all tsundere girls equally and we understand that Haru’s harsher side is more so because of a lonely existence than just being a cruel person. That’s why, if you can find it in your heart to see past the rich demeanor of Haru, you’ll find out she’s a manga tsundere worth falling for.
[ad_middle]
5. Tomo Aizawa from Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko!

Junnichirou Kubota and Tomo Aizawa have been friends for quite some time. Though for Tomo this friendship isn’t enough. With love in her heart Tomo decides to bite the bullet and confess to Junnichirou. However, Tomo is shocked and dismayed by her crush’s rejection. What makes it sting worse is Junnichirou’s rejection is due to a long-time belief that Tomo was actually a dude, not a girl. Now, Tomo must somehow take her damaged her and prove to Junnichirou she’s a worthy girl for him! Tomboys aren’t rare in the manga world. Often, a lot of our favorite tsundere girls in manga usually are tomboys in nature and we’re completely fine with it. Tomo Aizawa from Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko thus enters our list and we’re glad to have here. We find it amazingly cute that Tomo is both tough and cute in equal measures and isn’t afraid to fight for what she loves. Tomo Aizawa deserves our hearts and hopefully by having her on our Top 10 Tsundere Girls in Manga list we’ve shown how much we care about Tomo.
4. Mao Motomiya from Taiyou no Ie

Mao Motomiya has become very depressed as of late. Thanks to her mother’s abandonment and her father’s new marriage, Mao feels alone and unwanted. Sulking and trying to hide, Mao goes to a shrine to eat some convenience store food. While Mao eat her longtime friend named Hiro Nakamura realizes Mao’s plight and offers his home as a means of escaping her current situation. Mao reluctantly takes Hiro’s offer but soon finds that this new set up isn’t so bad. What now lies in store for Mao when her feelings for Hiro begin to deepen and her family situation begins to change is something you will have to see for yourself in Taiyou no Ie. Sometimes life can make any girl into a tsundere. Mao stands as a perfect example for this. Thanks to her current family situation and temperament, Mao fits the tsundere mold pretty strongly. Though we love Mao as her tsundere personality doesn’t feel like a generic one and feels like a genuine girl trying to hide her emotions behind a protective shield. Shout out in the comments down below if you agree with us here at Honey’s Anime and if you also love Mao Motomiya and her tsundere personality.
3. Sakura Matsumoto from Kirai

Hanada Shintarou is what many would call both a lady’s man and a playboy. Hanada knows he looks good and can make most women swoon over him in a flash. Though this has given Hanada a bad reputation at his school for being someone who is great for one-night stands and dumping innocent girls after using them. Hanada seems like a person who will never change his ways. Then one-day Hanada ends up falling in love with a girl who is persuaded by his charm and looks, in fact this girl finds Hanada utter scum… Sakura Matsumoto from Kirai is probably one of our all-time favorite tsunderes. While she might have a cute side hidden behind that all too known tough exterior, Sakura is more so a girl who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to state it. This is why guys like Hanada who are so accustomed to getting what they want fall in front of her might. Sakura literally spends the majority of Kirai changing Hanada from a jerk to a likeable guy. That’s why Sakura deserves our third spot on our Top 10 Tsundere Girls in Manga list.
2. Naru Narusegawa from Love Hina

Keitarou has tried his best to get into the university of his dreams but has found failure non-stop. With no other options, Keitarou decides to isolate himself and study his hardest to get in. Deciding on taking over his grandmother’s hotel, Keitarou believes maybe now he can find a place to study in peace. However, Keitarou quickly learns that his grandmother’s hotel is now an all-girls dorm and the female residents aren’t too happy a man has infiltrated their domain. Ken Akamatsu isn’t a stranger to creating tons of girls for his various manga creations. Though we here at Honey’s Anime love one of his best tsundere in the form of Naru Narsusegawa from Love Hina. Naru is easily one of the greatest and oldest tsunderes out there quick to punch men like Keitarou across the world and then blush when shown a little affection. If you decide on Naru—which we wouldn’t blame you—as your ultimate tsundere girl in manga then just be prepared to have a first aid kit ready. Now then let us see who takes the number one spot on our list of Top 10 Tsundere Girls in Manga.
1. Chitoge Kirisaki from Nisekoi

Raku Ichijou’s oldest memory is a promise he made with some girl who held a key to his locket. Their promise was eventually one day they would get married. Unfortunately, as time fades Raku’s memory continues to fade and while the promise is still there in his heart, the girl he promised has become unknown to him. Though Raku realizes he must move on from that memory and get ready for his new school life at Bonyari High School all while dealing with his yakuza family. However, Raku’s destiny will have him ending up in a fake relationship with an opposing Yakuza family’s daughter—Chitoge Kirisaki—and several girls that seem to possibly be from Raku’s past. This was a tough one, folks. With so many tsundere girls available choosing who would get first place took us an incredible amount of time here at Honey’s Anime. Though we feel that Chitoge Kirisaki should take first thanks to not only her cute looks and spirited attitude but that great tsundere persona that she does so well. It shouldn’t be a surprise Chitoge is a tsundere, one just has to look at her family’s background of being tough yakuza to realize this was a destined personality for Chitoge. Nisekoi’s 25 volumes prove time and time again that Chitoge deserves our number one spot on our Top 10 Female Tsundere Girls in Manga and we know many of you out there already are agreeing with us.
Final Thoughts
Love them or hate them, tsundere girls are an ever growing theme in manga and anime. Top 10 Funniest Working!! (Wagnaria!!) Characters

Working a part-time job at a local restaurant can be frustrating, boring, and exhausting. Three adjectives nobody would ever use to describe the slice-of-life anime, Working!!. The three seasons and spin-off center around the everyday lives of the staff working at Wagnaria, a family restaurant which inexplicably attracts the weirdest waitresses and cooks in the business. Working!! and WWW.Working!! are slice-of-life comedy anime based on a four-panel comic strip manga created by Harino Takatsu. The former throws in a fair amount of romance, although it is mostly kept for the final season. The entire cast is well developed and given their moment to shine, creating a genuinely consistent and memorable series. Each episode includes at least one laugh-out-loud moment, with a few chuckles sprinkled throughout. Today, we will be counting down our top 10 picks for the funniest Working!! characters.
10. Yuuta Shindou

While the original series kept the financial circumstances of the main cast relatively tension free, WWW.Working!! introduces a character who works several different jobs to try to get his family out of debt. Such a real-world problem might not seem like an ideal source of comedy, but Shindou ends up being one of the funniest parts in the spin-off series. This entry could almost be a double act with Shiho Kamakura, a rich staff member and the daughter of the man Shindou’s father owes money to. The duo has been together since childhood, with Shiho using her position and deep pockets to get revenge on Shindou for rejecting her. Shindou is one of the nicest guys in the anime, as he tries to remain optimistic despite the less-than-ideal turn his life has taken. After a while, it does get a bit disheartening seeing this teenager constantly trampled upon by Shiho. Still, Shindou proves to be a source of many laughs, especially when he reacts with unbridled joy to even the smallest acts of kindness. The series also loves to juxtapose the pair’s current relationship with their childhood interactions, often showing a complete reversal of power.
9. Popura Taneshima

This short 17-year-old high-school student is the main reason that Working!! got started. Souta – the protagonist of the original series – loves tiny things, and only takes the job due to Taneshima’s adorable appearance. Despite being on the verge of adulthood, she could easily pass for an elementary school girl, something which the rest of the cast loves to point out. Taneshima is not really a funny character on her own but tends to be the butt of some of the best jokes. She spends the majority of her time trying to figure out new and exciting ways to force herself to grow taller, but is otherwise one of the more sane members working at Wagnaria!!. Due to her energetic and positive personality, this pint-sized high-school student is lovable and a constant source of comedy. Her funniest scenes tend to arise from the way she passive-aggressively tries to get back at Souta for treating her like a child. More often than not, this backfires and makes the protagonist fall in love with her tiny appearance all over again.
8. Sayuri Muranushi

Sayuri comes from a family of exorcists and is capable of interacting with youkai, despite not personally believing in their existence. One of her regular customers is an old man who nobody else can see, which terrifies her co-workers, and confuses the hell out of Sayuri. She is a quiet girl, who rarely shows any emotions and tends to react with disinterest towards any given situation. As most of the other characters tend to be rather loud, her dry delivery is a welcome change of pace and leads to some hilarious interactions. The few times Sayuri actually smiles result in expected reactions from people who happen to witness it, with the cook Masahiro Adachi practically being changed forever after his experience. Despite her sixth sense, Sayuri is one of the hardest workers at Wagnaria, even if not all of her customers are of this world.
7. Daisuke Higashida

The main protagonist in WWW.Working!!, Higashida is forced to get a job at Wagnaria!! to pay for his own expenses after his father files for bankruptcy. He is a hard-working student, who is easily annoyed by the antics of his co-workers and family. Throughout most of the series, Higashida serves as the voice of reason, while managing to deliver a handful of witty lines. His toxic relationship with the powerful but rather slow Hana Miyakoshi often lands Higashida in a world of pain. Role reversals are prevalent throughout the spin-off, with the girls portrayed as the dominant characters. Higashida is the only male staff member who has a backbone, as he tries and fails to bring a touch of normality to this wacky family restaurant. A running gag is the way he reacts to Miyakoshi’s terrible cooking, which is capable of sending Higashida temporarily to heaven.
6. Kirio Yamada
One of only two people on this list who do not work at Wagnaria!!, Kirio is Aoi Yamada’s brother and a potential love interest for Mahiru Inami. Energetic to a fault, this 17-year-old high school student has spent the last few months frantically searching for his runaway sister, although he often gets distracted by any girl that happens to pass by. As captain of the karate club, Kirio quickly strikes up a friendship with the man-fearing Inami, as he is capable of blocking her punches. Kirio is brutally honest and kind of dumb. He could easily have served as a romantic foil for Souta, but instead tries to push the protagonist and Inami together. While his attempts are often not appreciated, there is a good heart hidden underneath his loud and annoying exterior. The karate captain is also the main reason Yamada ran away from home, as he ate her natto without asking. Unsurprisingly, Kirio is oblivious to this fact and goes to great lengths to try and reconnect with his younger sister.
[ad_middle]
5. Souta Takanashi

Souta is far from your typical slice-of-life protagonist. Despite the overabundance of quirky characters on Wagnaria!!, this 16-year-old high-school freshman is arguably the weirdest of the bunch. Due to having three older sisters, a younger Souta used to wear their hand-me-downs, leading to a history of unintentional crossdressing. He also takes after his older sister and absolutely adores small and cute things. This is not limited to just Taneshima, as Souta cannot help but hug any animal he might come across. More importantly, he is unashamed and unwilling to change this aspect of his personality. This obsession can put him in hot water, as it includes small children. On his very first day on the job, Souta is punched squarely in the face by Inami, due to her fear of men. Afterward, it is explained that she did not mean any harm by it, Souta takes on the role of helping Inami overcome her irrational phobia. This leads to a lot of bloody noses and black eyes for Working!!’s protagonist.
4. Miri Yanagiba
If there is one criticism we can throw towards the spin-off series, it would be that there is not enough Yanagiba. After forgetting to wear a scarf for the first day of high-school, she ends up getting pneumonia and spends the rest of the day in the nurse's office. As she missed her opportunity to make friends, Yanagiba uses this as an excuse to never attend class. Do not let her sickly appearance fool you, as Yanagiba is the funniest character in the entire show. Initially introduced as a customer who Higashida believes might be a ghost – due to wearing winter clothes in summer – this lovable delinquent is attracted to people who happen to be weird. As Wagnaria!! is a goldmine of strange characters, she spends most of her free time at the restaurant.
3. Hiroomi Souma

At first glance, Wagnaria’s assistant chef seems like a perfectly nice and polite 20-year-old man. Often with a friendly smile on his face, Souma offers Souta a helping hand during his first few days and appears to get on well with the rest of the staff. In reality, this is all a front and Souma is the most sadistic and scariest member of the entire crew. He arrogantly declares himself to be a genius and spends most of his time trying to learn everyone’s secrets. While this information is occasionally used to get out of doing some of his work, Souma really just loves seeing what happens after a secret is revealed. This status-quo is rocked with the introduction of Yamada, who learns that nobody knows anything about Souma and makes it her mission to develop a sibling relationship with the chef. He also goes out of his way to avoid Inami, although they eventually form a friendship by speaking over a phone.
2. Jun Satou

The main chef of the restaurant, Satou is a cool and helpful character who is desperately in love with the oblivious Yachiyo Todoroki. As he is forced to listen to stories about the manager of Wagnaria, who is Todoroki’s idol, Satou lets out his frustration by making fun of Taneshima’s height. The mean-spirited and wryly nature of his jokes are made all that more hilarious as they completely contradict Satou’s typical behavior. As Souma is the only one aware of Satou’s crush, the chefs are presented as a comedy double-act, as they try to make the other’s life as difficult as humanly possible. The 20-year-old cook is a genuinely hard worker and tends to get annoyed whenever the others waste food or time. Like every guy working at Wagnaria!!, he is terrified of Inami and tries his absolute best to avoid being in a situation where he might be alone with her. Due to his calm persona, Satou pretends to not be scared, despite visibly shaking in his boots.
1. Aoi Yamada
Yamada never fails to be hilarious. After running away from home, she is picked up by Hyougo Otoo, the head of the restaurant, and starts working at Wagnaria!!. Despite claiming to be 16 years-old, Yamada acts like a spoiled elementary school girl, who causes more than a little bit of trouble for her coworkers. When not goofing off or eating natto, she is either annoying Souma or accidentally breaking plates. Yamada yearns for a family of her own, even going as far as to get adoption papers for Otoo to sign. Referencing herself in the third person, as Yamada is not actually her name, this troublemaker shows an almost admirable amount of self-confidence in her own ability. Souta acts as somewhat of a mentor to Yamada, although his complaints and suggestions tend to go over her head. In a franchise filled with hilarious characters, Yamada stands out as the best of the bunch. She is unpredictable, lacks any self-awareness, and never fails to be a delight.
Final Thoughts
Working!! was a fun ride while it lasted, and we would love nothing more than to spend even more time with the dysfunctional staff of Wagnaria. It is rare to discover a cast as consistent or relatable as those found in A1 Pictures’ comedy series. For those looking for a new slice-of-life anime to watch, one filled with hilarious moments and characters, you cannot go wrong with this franchise. Which character never failed to make you giggle? Please let us know in the comment section below.

Top 10 Bishoujo in D. Gray Man

We’ve talked before about the horrible world where D.Gray-man happens. A world where the best you can hope for is for a quick death where your loved ones don’t end up making a deal with the devil to bring you back as a monster at the service of the Millennium Earl, a being who wants to destroy all humanity. We’ve also talked about the gorgeous men who work for the Black Church, and the few ones we can find among the Noah, because the world may be horrible but at least we have eye candy. And since we already talked about the top ten bishounen in D.Gray-man, it’s only fair that now we give the same attention to the beautiful ladies in the series, who are much more than just fanservice.
10. Sachiko (Chomesuke)
While her actual form is a golden fish with feet and hands, and an orb for a face, she can turn into her original human form, a sweet lady with red hair and eyes wearing a pink kimono. Chomesuke is a type 2 Akuma, a dangerous kind that can retake human form, and are far more intelligent than the type 1 Akuma because they have killed enough people to evolve. She also lives in Edo, Japan, a place that has been uninhabitable for humans for a long time, as the Millennium Earl took it over. Still, she’s different from her kind because she was once sent to trap Cross Marian, and he instead modified her so she could go against the Earl and help humans to fight the Noah. But what makes her really cute is that she still acts like a human when she’s not in battle. She collects cute things, and blushes when she’s told she’s beautiful. She seems to have a crush on both Lavi and Cross Marian (Not that we blame her) and she’s really regretful of the things she has done as an Akuma. The longer we see her, the more we want to see her overcome her instincts and become a permanent ally of the Black Church. And because of this, she earns the tenth place on our list.
9. Lulu Bell

Blond, tall, and deadly. Those three words describe the Noah of Lust, Lulu Bell, perfectly. She looks intimidating at all times, cold and emotionless. Her long hair is tied in a professional ponytail, and is one of the few Noah who, even as a human, looks intimidating; although that also may be due to the suits she wears and the fact that she never takes off her dark glasses in human form. When she turns into her Noah form, her hair becomes pitch black and the glasses come off to reveal golden eyes, which make her look even more beautiful and terrifying. She’s young, no older than 24, and is a recent addition to the Noah family, as the former Noah of Lust was killed by Nea D. Campbell, so in many ways, she’s still proving her worth to the Millennium Earl. That contrast of a very professional woman, who at the same time craves the approval of her father figure like a teenager, make her a very interesting character. And thus, Lulu Bell is the ninth choice on our list.
8. Eliade

Eliade is the first type 2 Akuma we met in the series, and it’s easy to see why her kind is so dangerous, as there is absolutely nothing that marks her as an Akuma, not even to Allen’s eye. She’s also beautiful and she knows it, as when she evolved into a type 2 she did everything in her power not to turn into her Akuma form, even when hunting, and to make herself even more beautiful. In that sense, she could be said to embody the sin of Vanity, because for a long time, the only thing she cared about was keeping her newfound beauty pristine. She also became obsessed with the idea of love, and thus, she was the first and only Akuma to put her desires above the orders given by the Noah family. She was sent to investigate Krory, but when she realized that his innocence would help him to survive even if she was around, she decided to stay and keep him as isolated and emotionally weak as she could, in order to make him dependent on her. What she didn’t expect, was that she fell in love with him and so, soon was acting to hide him from both the Church and the Earl, just to have a bit longer with him. Because of her physical beauty, and the way she loves Krory (and how much he loves her) she earns the eighth place on our list.
7. Lenny Epstein

As one of the American members of the Black Church, Lenny Epstein is very dedicated to her job. Unfortunately, her job was to work on the Second Exorcist Program, which ended in tragedy, but she was one of the few to survive the Alma Karma incident, and since then, she has worked in different experiments to help the Church’s fight. She’s tall, muscular, and wears her hair short since becoming a Branch Chief and leader of the Akuma Egg investigation. While she’s not a traditional beauty like other women on the list, mostly due to the fact that after the Alma Karma incident she decided to become stronger and exercised and trained until she was more intimidating than any of the other scientist and most Exorcists. And yet, she’s still vulnerable. She still remembers what she did and the consequences that had both on her family and on the Church. And it’s that vulnerability and her ethics, even when challenged and when she has to find loopholes in her own actions, what earns her the seventh place on our list.
6. Klaud Nine
Among the Exorcists of the Black Church, the highest-ranking ones are the Generals. To reach said rank, one has to be incredibly talented and very, very lucky given the threat of the Akuma and the Noah. Klaud Nine is the only female General in the Black Order, and that alone makes her stand out among her colleagues. Of course, her attractiveness also helps to make her noticeable: She’s tall, slim and fit, blonde and purple eyed. That makes you want to look at her as soon as she enters a room, and then be shocked at the scar on her face. A scar she doesn’t hide, because she is proud of all her scars, as they prove she has survived. Besides her stunning beauty, Klaud is also memorable because of her unique innocence: a parasitic type that takes the form of an intelligent monkey. She calls him Lau Shimin, and he’s both her innocence and her companion, a reminder of her former job as a Beast Master before she took the job as an Exorcist. She’s fearless, she’s merciless, and she never gives up. And because of all that, she’s the sixth choice on our list.
[ad_middle]
5. Fo
Fo is a very strange being. She is humanoid, and identifies as a female, but she is not human. She is actually an A.I. created with a very difficult combination of technology and magic, which acts as the Guardian Deity of the Asian Branch of the Black Church. She has absolute control over the appearance of her body, but usually looks like a young girl wearing a purple hat and purple clothes. Her arms seem to be covered by huge gloves that she can control and turn into weapons if needed. This shows that she’s not just a hologram, as when she wishes, she can be solid and attack like a normal exorcist. She is very loyal to the Black Church, but her true allegiance is to Bak Chang, who can summon her to his side by using a summoning stone on his hat. This may be in part because his great-grandfather created her, but there are clues that show that she may also love him more than the rest of the Chang family. She also has a very interesting personality, as she is far more aggressive toward the people she likes than toward the people she dislikes. Because of that contrast in personality, and her usual beautiful appearance, Fo earns the fifth place on our list.
4. Anita
As the owner of one of China’s largest brothels, it’s no surprise that Anita is a beautiful woman. Tall, young, and with long, silky hair that she keeps in an exotic bob with ponytail combination, she can conquer any man’s heart with just a look and a smile. But she is not just a delicate lady. When it comes to helping the Black Church, she shows that she is ruthless and capable of fighting almost as well as any exorcist. Her family has a long story with the other exorcists, and in particular with Cross Marian. Her mother was in love with him, as Anita revealed, claiming that it meant that she was a good woman, but simple minded. However, this is a bit ironic, as later we learn that she was also very close to Cross, and his opinion of her mattered a lot in her life. It is important to note, though, that their support for the Church wasn’t dependent on their love and admiration for Cross Marian. They had lost many people to the akuma and truly believed in the Church’s mission. Her beauty only pales in comparison to her amazing strength of will and dignity, and that is why she has the fourth place on our list.
3. Miranda Lotto

Miranda Lotto is a very strange woman. The Black Church first meets her when she is living in a town that can’t be contacted and where time rewinds itself every day. It takes a while for Allen and Lenalee to figure out Miranda’s clock is innocence, and she’s unknowingly causing the time loop. Once that is solved, they invite her to join the Church, and she does, happy to be useful to someone for once. But the thing is, during that first appearance, it would be hard to believe she’d be on a bishoujo list, much less in such a high place: She was pale, had dark circles under her eyes due to lack of sleep, had her hair up in a bun and an old maid dress, one could believe she was very old and very, very ugly. But once she started working with the Church and started gaining self confidence, she let her hair down, started eating properly and changed her maid dresses for the exorcist uniform, which revealed that she was very beautiful. She has long, brown hair, and her eyes are very expressive. But what makes her even more beautiful is that she will not give up on her friends, no matter what. Even if it means hurting herself, she will keep her time loops up to keep them safe and sound. That determination is more important than her appearance, and it’s what puts her in the third place on our list.
2. Road Kamelot

The Ninth Noah, representing the Dreams of Noah. Interestingly, she is the youngest-looking of all the Noah, while in fact, she is one of the oldest as she was the only one besides the Earl to survive Nea’s betrayal. Because of that, while she looks no older than thirteen, she is at the very least fifty years old. This makes her take the role of Sheril Kamelot’s daughter, and thus, Tyki Mikk’s niece, and is easy to think that she is just a defenseless girl that has been taken in by the craziness of the Earl. We rarely see her in human form, but she has blue hair and dark eyes. As a Noah, she has black hair and golden eyes, and that is how she appears most of the time. Road also prefers to wear gothic Lolita-style clothing and hair, which makes her stand out even more. But what makes her even more interesting to everyone is that, unlike the other Noah who just hate Allen and Nea, she is quite enamored with Allen, to the point that the Earl has had to reprimand her over her actions towards the exorcist. All these reasons are why Road wins our hearts, and the second place on our list.
1. Lenalee Lee

One of the most popular exorcists in the European Black Church, she’s easily dismissed at first as just a pretty face. After all, as the younger sister of Komui Lee, the Chief Officer, and one of the very few female exorcists, she turned heads very easily (to the eternal dismay of Komui, whose worst nightmare is to see Lenalee marrying someone whom he deems unfit for her). But once we see her in a mission, it is obvious that she is as deadly towards the Akuma as every other Exorcist, and that she will not stop until they all are gone. Now, Lenalee is beautiful. Young, thin, fit, and with a beautiful silky black hair that unfortunately got cut short during a mission against the Earl. Also, unlike other exorcists, her uniform is usually composed of short skirts and shorts, because without her legs free, she can’t use her innocence that is on her boots. Because of this, her fighting style is very agile, like a ballerina. And of course, this makes her look even more beautiful, and, together with her popularity, both in and out of their universe, is what makes her win the first place on our list.
Final Thoughts
D.Grey Man is a long-running series, and so it has a lot of characters. And while there are far more male characters than females, it doesn’t mean that the ones we’re listing are the only women in the world. And of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What one person may think is very attractive; another may believe is just average. With that in mind, we need to ask, who is the most beautiful girl in D.Gray-man in your opinion? We’d love to hear your reasoning in the comments below.

Ann Takamaki Bio
Seiyuu Name: Nana Mizuki (Erika Harlacher) Ann Takamaki, at first glance, might fool people into thinking she’s just another high school girl with good looks and cliché themes, but behind her incredible looks lies a true Persona User. Ann is quick to help her friends who need her and is usually very composed when things go south. While inside of people’s hearts, Ann become Panther, a Phantom Thief who wears a tight red catsuit and is equipped with a cat-like mask. Ann’s weapons of choice are a whip and Submachine Gun all while using the Persona known as Carmen. With quick movements and cat-like reflexes, Ann is the more agile female member of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. As most of the people who know Ann would say, if you mess with her, be prepared to face some harsh punishments.
Ann Takamaki Highlights
1. Cute but deadly
It’s important to note with girls like Ann Takamaki, cute looks can be deceiving. Sure, when Ann isn’t in combat, she can be as cute as a button and be willing to hang out just like any other high school girl. Ann can take jokes and dish them back out as she typically does with her friends like Ryuji Sakamoto. However, if you hurt Ann’s friends or attempt to hurt her, you’re in for a rude awakening. Ann Takamaki is a panther through and through and we have the evidence to prove it. There are several moments in Persona 5 that Ann shows her tougher self. One of the most important is when Ann learns that her friend—Shiho—fell victim to Suguru Kamoshida’s sexual attacks, Ann was quick to get angry and this was even before she had the power of Persona. In terms of her cuter side, Ann’s confidant events show a girl who is suffering from failing Shiho and all the while is trying to regain confidence in herself. This is when we see Ann removing her mask of strength and showing she’s just another cute girl who wishes to prevail in the world with her own strength. Ann might be deadly but as long as you don’t overstep your boundaries, you’ll see she’s a cute girl and not scary at all.
2. Risk Taker

While we aren’t models here at Honey’s Anime, we understand the tough challenges being a model presents. Not only must you show off your body to strangers but you must also take risks to show off to others. Ann Takamaki faces this dilemma several times in the story of Persona 5. While some come off as funny, others come off as risqué. Early in the game, we are introduced to a future Persona user by the name of Yusuke Kitagawa a painter with a lack of a muse. Intoxicated by Ann, Yusuke begs for her to pose for his future painting. However, the catch here is Yusuke wants Ann to pose nude. While the Phantom Thieves know Yusuke’s friendship and approval will help them get into a corrupted heart, Ann is hesitant, but willing to take one for the team, she does this by wearing layers of clothes and ends up just acting as a decoy for the team to slip into the studio. Needless to say, Ann is willing to take some risks, though she isn’t foolish about how to handle the various risks when they arise.
3. Battle Ready

The Phantom Thieves all have their signature weapons in combat. The main protagonist uses daggers, Yusuke uses swords and Ryuji relies on bats. Though for Ann, she uses Whips and Submachine Guns. Ironically enough Ann’s first primary Persona—Carmen—uses a Whip, as well. It’s important to note these weapons aren’t just for appearance but are handled by Ann with deadly efficiency. When players first take control of Ann, they will notice that her speed makes her a deadly asset in battle. Typically, Ann’s stats for agility are higher than her comrades—at first—making her hard to hit and usually able to land critical hits on tougher enemies. With Carmen, Ann also acts as the first major healer of the group and that makes her good for not just attacking but providing some much-needed restoration during the first few Palaces players will transverse. Ann might join the battle later than her friend Ryuji, Morgana and the main character but she comes into battle all too ready to kick some butt.
4. Trendy and fashionable
As we mentioned earlier, Ann is trying to be a model. That’s why it’s not surprising that Ann Takamaki’s wardrobe is both cute but fashionable. This doesn’t just apply to her normal school attire but everything from her hang out clothes to the clothes Ann wears in combat. Let us examine Ann’s clothes a bit more closely. Though we swear this is for research purposes and nothing more. Outside of the normal school attire, Ann usually rocks her long red tights, brown boots and a white variety hoodie. In battle, Ann gains a red form fitting catsuit, red panther-like mask and dark red boots. It’s easy to see that Ann’s inner self wishes to keep her looks both fashion orientated but battle accessible. To sum it all up, Ann knows just the right attire to make her look gorgeous and we’re sure we’re not the only ones who believe this here at Honey’s Anime.
5. Can hang with the boys

Most girls like Ann, if we’re being honest, wouldn’t want to damage their looks by hanging out with the guys in their daily activities. However, this doesn’t apply to our girl Ann Takamaki. Quick to chill with the boys in whatever they are doing currently, Ann is quite flexible in how she relaxes. We feel that some of you other may be doubting us a bit here at Honey’s Anime and that’s okay. As always let us prove that Ann Takamaki can hang with the boys no matter what. There are several events that show Ann’s more relaxed side despite her model-like appearance. One of the funniest but important pieces of evidence comes in the form of Ryuji’s confidant events which has him and the protagonist working out at the gym. Ann, at one point, gets invited to join and shows off that she’s quite strong despite her looks. Another example comes in the form of the writers for Ann talking about her likes and dislikes. The writers of Ann Takamaki state that Ann loves to watch TV and is often found playing video games. While in this day and age, there are a growing number of girls who play video games, it still is a male dominated space and thus it’s cool to see Ann appreciate playing a video game or two. What this all boils down to is that Ann isn’t afraid to show a more tomboyish appearance around her friends and loved ones. This really makes us happy here at Honey’s Anime and we’re pretty sure a lot of people reading this are now even more in love with Ann, which we can’t blame you for in the slightest.
Final Thoughts
Persona 5 has numerous female leads but very few can touch Ann Takamaki. Not only does Ann look incredible but her skills with leave you breathless. Ann’s job is to steal the hearts of those corrupted but she stole our kind hearts here at Honey’s Anime. Now that we have spent some time talking about Ann Takamaki we open the floor to you in the comments below. Is Ann one of your favorite girls of Persona 5 or does your heart belong to another? If you loved our article, our site here at Honey’s Anime has even more for you to read and enjoy on your own time.

Princess Principal Preview (No Spoilers)
We have talked about this series before, but in case you have not watched it, here is a quick review: Princess Principal follows the adventures of five female spies in a steampunk version of England called Albion. A few years before, a revolution divided the country in two halves: the Kingdom of Albion and the Commonwealth. Even the city of London is cut in half due to a wall in the middle. Anyway, the spies from the Commonwealth infiltrate the Kingdom posing as students at the prestigious Queen’s Mayfair School. From their elegant operation base, they will solve criminal cases, follow suspicious people and collect information. However, their ultimate objective is to aid the efforts of the Commonwealth to achieve Operation Chandelier! Ange Le Carre’s Bio
Ange le Carré Bio
Voice actress: Ayaka Imamura Ange Le Carre is the main protagonist of Princess Principal. She is a 17 year old master spy who was trained in “The Farm”, an elite spy school administered by the Commonwealth. As their best agent, Ange is one of the selected members to cross over to the Kingdom of Albion in order to prepare Operation Chandelier. However, throughout the secondary missions assigned to her group, we get to know Ange much better. Here are the reasons why we think Ange Le Carre is a great character!
Ange le Carré Highlights
1. An inhabitant of the Black Lizard Planet
We meet Ange in a whirlwind of car persecutions in the very first minutes of Princess Principal. As we only see the girls in action, we can not be sure of what their characters are like. That is until the second episode, where we catch a glimpse of Ange’s first days at school. So yes, Ange Le Carre is basically a humble, clever, slightly clumsy and bespeckled girl. She is said to have won a scholarship. Ange would not have been admitted into the exclusive Queen’s Mayfair School otherwise, as she is a commoner... Anyway, we hear Ange’s usual catchphrase in episode 2 as well. She introduces herself timidly as “Ange Le Carre. I come from the Black Lizard Planet”. Since that moment, every time there is something odd about Ange’s personality or if she is asked too much questions, she simply replies with something related to the Black Lizard Planet. This might pass as jokes by an eccentric nerd, but there is much more behind it than it seems. It is hinted in the Ripper Dipper episode that Ange might use the Black Lizard Planet to hide her vulnerable human side.
2. A master spy
Ange might pretend to be a harmless and intelligent student at Queen’s Mayfair, but just wait until she has to soil her hands. She was known as the best student at the Commonwealth’s Farm for a reason. Wearing the best lolita fashion for an active girl (complete with cape and top hat), Ange becomes the de-facto leader of her spying unit at every mission. Let’s remember that the official leader of the Shirohato girls is Dorothy, who is the oldest of them all. However, Ange’s superlative abilities take the center stage when things get serious. The most obvious skills our protagonist has are her abilities to lie and catch lies. Next come Ange’s acting skills, making her a great improviser on the spot. Just remember the ball in episode 2 where she impersonated Princess! We also should mention that the nerdy figure Ange cultivates at school is not only acting. When the missions run out of hand, she is always capable of coming up with an effective plan B. Yeap, the five spies in Shirohato have not been defeated so far thanks in great part to Ange!
3. Her usage of tools to complete her missions
Although the Shirohato girls are skillful in using whatever is on hand to achieve their missions, they also have a secret arsenal in their “Club” room at Queen’s Mayfair School. In the case of Ange, her firearm of choice is an automatic revolver known as Webley-Fosberry. She also has used exploding bombs and gas bombs perfectly well hidden in her clothes (we even see her placing them in her crinoline in the episode “Humble Double”). Ange has made use of chemical substances as well. These girls sure are at the top of their profession! Those of you who are familiar with Princess Principal might be already screaming: how about Ange’s C-ball?! We are not forgetting it, I assure you. Many opponents of Shirohato gap in awe everytime they see Ange flying and throwing away heavy objects after all. What they don’t see is that she is holding the C-ball, a stolen prototype of cavorite (a mineral of Albion) that manipulates gravity. Therefore, Ange can float and move whatever is on her way. With her C-ball, she is practically invincible!
4. Ange’s relationship with Princess
This is a part of Ange’s story that is not very clear at the beginning. It is evident that these two know each other from the past. Should we remember how they coordinate so well in Dancy Conspiracy despite being “the first time” they meet? Or how about Bullet & Blade’s Ballad, where Ange and Princess stop two trains from colliding? These two could be considered to be close, and it is even more confirmed in a subtle scene in the Loudly Laundry episode, where we see that Princess is going to help the other members of Shirohato to catch the assassin, but Ange quickly takes her out of harm’s way. So, what’s exactly going on between Princess and her? In the Ripper Dipper episode, Ange befriends a beggar girl and tells her a story “from the Black Lizard Planet”. It turns out that a very little Princess Charlotte felt trapped at the palace. The very day she decides to disappear from the world, she meets a beggar girl called Ange. The two quickly become friends, but when the Princess switches clothes with Ange to catch a glimpse of the outside world, the revolution barrens them from meeting again. Thus, Ange is the true Princess Charlotte! To leave someone in your place for so long is something that calls for strong ties, don’t you think?
5. Her distrust which hides her true personality
It is natural for spies to distrust people in general. If we think carefully, neither the Commonwealth nor the Kingdom of Albion can be deemed as entirely well intentioned. The Commonwealth even played a dangerous double game in the last episodes of Princess Principal! So, despite the fact that Ange was trained in the Commonwealth and has obeyed their orders, she has her own agenda under her sleeve (which involves Princess and a refugee in Casablanca). Therefore, she can not trust anyone, not even her comrades. That is why Ange is so cold in the missions too. Some of the few moments when we catch glimpses of our protagonist’s true personality are when she is alone with Princess. We bet that more than one gasped when she was so vulnerable by the end of the episode of Humble Double! However, it is such moments that remind us the “perfect” Ange is human. As Princess says in the Fall of the Wall episode, Ange should learn to open her heart more and trust the other Shirohato girls, who have proven their loyalty. Those few moments when we see Ange startled or caring for other people are some of the best in Princess Principal. Our icy, cool spy has the heart of a great girl, so it would be better if she would distrust less :)
Final Thoughts
Princess Principal has one remarkable characteristic that sets it apart from most of recent anime shows. It is not only that is centered in female characters, but that it is centered in their friendship and loyalty. Yes, finally no romance! We wonder how many shows will follow this lead? Also, the five girls of Shirohato stand up perfectly well on their own. Among them, Ange rises as the perfect, intelligent, courageous leader. Which are your favorite scenes with Ange? Would you like to have more adventures with Shirohato? Don’t forget to leave a comment! See you soon at the other side of the wall :)

[Honey's Crush Wednesday] 5 Rise Highlights - Persona 4

I don't know who the real me is!
Introduction
- Episodes: PS Vita, PS3, PS2
- Genre: RPG, Adventure
- Airing Date: July 10, 2008
- Producers: Atlus
Persona 4 Preview (No Spoilers)
Persona returns, this time to the town of Inaba, a rural town where little to no excitement occurs. Our protagonist was transferred here from the city to attend school here. Shortly after he arrives, a string of mysterious murders started to take place around town. As mystifying as it is, there was no conclusion to the investigation. As the protagonist quickly settled into his foster home of the Dojimas and starts to make new friends, the TV World appears just as suddenly as the murders. Seeing a connection between this parallel world and the murders, the protagonist, along with his new friends investigate the nature of the world the truth behind these deaths and murders.
Rise Bio
Seiyuu Name: Rie Kugimiya Rise Kujikawa is a popular idol that is well-known even in the rural town of Inaba. On camera, she is portrayed as bubbly, friendly and extremely energetic. However, the real Rise questions if that is her true self. One of the biggest fears Rise has is her sense of individualism and whether the media had degraded her already broken the perception of herself. Confused, Rise even turned to escapism as a solution only to once again be left disappointed and unsatisfied. It wasn't until the arrival of the protagonist and his friends did Rise finally accept and assimilate all her false selves as facets of her true and original personality, once and for all ending her dilemma.
Rise Highlights
1. Rise Kujikawa’s Boldness

After getting to know the protagonist and his friends, Rise becomes more cheerful and outgoing. Her demeanor is unlike when they just met her - quiet, reserved and aloof. As she is included in the inner circle of the group and is more comfortable with the group, Rise is more outspoken, talkative and even risqué sometimes. It gets so out of hand sometimes that Chie Satonaka commented that she may downright be dangerous. A couple of times now, she has teased fellow team members, jeered at the insecurities of fellow female members and is shown to be very competitive. Perhaps the most obvious of all would be her open declaration of love towards the protagonist. There are numerous instances of her making advances towards the protagonist. That would be fine and all if it weren't done openly in full view of the group. Asides from being direct with her words, she can openly flirt with the protagonist as well to the discomfort of the group. Rise can even be so direct to the point that the group questions if she is actually serious about it or not. One thing's for sure though, her boldness is certainly a unique trait that stands out amongst the rest of the group.
2. Rise Kujikawa is a loyal and supportive friend

Despite her feisty attitude as mentioned, there are much more instances in which Rise Kujikawa proved to be a loyal and valuable ally and a friend than just a femme fatale. Characteristically, whenever the group faces a dilemma, it was always Rise who will lighten the mood. Despite having a playful and sassy side, Rise can be a great comforter when it is really needed. On an individual level, Rise had been shown to be a great listener as well, often listening to the problems of her peers and offering advice to them when they needed it the most. On the battlefield, this aspect is much more evident. Rise is the overall navigator of the group after Teddie. With the addition of her, on-field intelligence is so much more detailed, allowing the group to make better-informed decisions. Rise is able to identify enemies weakness, interfere with the flow of battle to increase party stats and even heal them. In the Shadow World, she can even detect things that sometimes Teddie himself is unable to. This reflects how passionate Rise is for her friends and the length that she will go in order for them to remain safe. Although she may not be an active combatant, Rise Kujikawa plays the role of the loyal and supportive friend on the backend.
3. Rise Kujikawa is an idol

Before moving back to Inaba, Rise Kujikawa was actually a famous idol. Deciding that she needs a break, Rise insisted on moving back to her hometown to live with her grandmother. It was here that everyone gathered at the tofu shop that her grandmother owned in order to catch a glimpse of her. To everyone, this was a once in a lifetime chance for a mega idol to be in the rural and boring town of Inaba. For the first time ever, the tofu shop in Inaba was packed with people. Rise being an idol is certainly a bonus for the group. Not only is she attractive, which will make the boys go woozy, she also has numerous connections which allowed the group some perks during their adventure together. Further, the life of an idol is an interesting one so just having one in your presence is sure to make you go into awe. Due to her, the group became much more noticeable in public places as well which makes it easy for them to conduct interrogations or procure information. Talk about using your profession to your advantage!
4. Rise Kujikawa remains true to herself

As mentioned, Rise Kujikawa decided to take a break in Inaba from her idol life. Not many know of her sudden departure and the reason for her hiatus. The truth can be seen when the public saw her in Inaba. What they saw was an image that is different from her TV personality. She was more reserved and quiet, very unlike her usual bubbly and cheerful self. The image of Rise Kujikawa was so different that even the group's idol fanatic, Yosuke mistook her for someone related to her. The truth was that Rise was actually running away from her other persona as she was starting to question her identity. During her time in Inaba, Rise never once displayed any action that is noteworthy, hinting that her idol persona and her real self is very different indeed to the extent that other people can confuse themselves with the same person. Granted that it would have been so much easier for her to act as an idol in order to get social standing in her small town, she chose to maintain her true self and chose her real personality instead of her idol persona.
5. Rise Kujikawa is full of resolve

After experiencing the Shadow World and gaining the knowledge of Shadows and different selves, it becomes evident to Rise that she is suffering from an identity crisis. Before this, Rise loathes the fact that people are recognizing her on the street as Risette the idol, not Rise Kujikawa. Now, she questions whether her media personality had caused her real self to degrade away and that she no longer has a real self to her. Due to it, Rise says her character’s symbolic phrase: "I don't know who the real me is". This was the biggest problem that she faced in the series. Having an identity crisis is not an uncommon phase in life. What sets Rise apart, however, is that instead of letting it go as it is, Rise developed the strength to assimilate all of the facets of her personality as her one true personality. Even those that were considered fake to her were eventually accepted by her. It takes a lot of self-resolve in order to look beyond our fake selves to see our true selves amidst the different faces that we present to people on a daily basis. Not only that, Rise confronted the problem head-on by going back into show business in order to show to her fans the other traits of her personality. Through this decision, Rise had finally come to terms with her individuality.
Final Thoughts
That is our take on Rise Kujikawa. In summary, we can only say that looks can be deceiving and that you can never judge a book by its cover. Rise Kujikawa is a perfect figure to represent this. On the surface, she looks like she is contented with her life as an idol and living the glamorous life. However, as we explored her personal life, we realized that there is a much more complex person beyond the TV persona. It is here that we finally saw the true Rise, just as human as the next person. This just means that everyone has a side to them that they do not show to the world. It’s just part of being human after all. Was Rise Kujikawa one of your favorite characters in the Persona series? If so, why is she such a memorable character to you? Can you sympathize with her struggle to find her true self? What are some of the traits that make Rise endearing to you? Do share with us your take on Rise Kujikawa and we will see you next time!

Top 10 Creepy Anime Girls [Updated]

Halloween’s coming up and it’s time to get creepy and spooky. This is that time of year when we can combine darkness, sheer horror and everything evil in this world with lots of candy and TV specials. Of course, this also applies to the world of anime. Anime can also be dark and scary enough to have its well-deserved place on Halloween, especially considering how many creepy anime characters we can find out there. For that reason, today we’re going to take a look at some of the creepiest girls in anime. You know, those who can be as disturbing as Sadako (just google image her out if you’re not sure who she is). We’ve already done this in the past, so you’ll find that the following list is a reworked selection of our original Top 10 creepiest anime girls. If you wish to check out the previous selection just keep scrolling down. Now, sit back and enjoy our Frankentastic list of creepy beauties!
10. Kaede Fuyou from Shuffle!

Kaede Fuyou is that sweet girl who just loves cooking for you and taking care of you. She’s so nice and caring that she makes the perfect roommate. Or so it seems… Deep down, Kaede is actually one of the craziest yandere girls ever. Don’t let any other woman come anywhere near you in her presence or you’ll both fear the consequences. Kaede is Rin Tsuchimi’s childhood friend and she’s been living with him ever since their parents died in a car crash. Kaede is not really evil or a deceitful witch like many of the other girls on our list. In fact, she’s a total cutie pie most of the time. The thing is, Kaede is so obsessively in love with Rin that she may experience psychotic breakdowns with violent outbursts whenever other girls are around him. Although, however dangerous she may be, the creepiest thing about her is the psycho face she makes when she’s about to snap. That look with her eyes wide open is your queue to run like hell.
9. Rize Kamishiro from Tokyo Ghoul

Everyone knows Rize Kamishiro as the sexy she-ghoul who died trying to eat Kaneki and ended up becoming his organ donor. Rize is actually much more than just that (although we don’t underestimate the importance of donating organs). Seriously, Rize is one of the most wicked and vicious ghouls out there, and that’s saying something. Rize is so creepy that she’s not satisfied by just eating people alive. This sexy ghoul needs to psychologically torture her prey like she did with Kaneki, making him fall for her before biting off a piece of his shoulder. Rize doesn’t just feast on your flesh; she also feeds from your fear and she loves watching you try to run for your life while she prepares to taste your insides.
8. Miyu Yamano from Kyuuketsuhime Miyu / Vampire Princess Miyu

If we’re talking about creepy girls then we definitely need at least one vampire girl on our list. Vampire Princess Miyu, also known as Miyu Yamano, is a creepy little vampire who looks like an innocent 13 year old girl but who’s actually much older. Despite being a vampire, Miyu isn’t really evil as one would expect. As a matter of fact, it’s her job to hunt down evil demons known as Shinma. However, Miyu is no saint herself either. She can be quite dark and sinister; after all she’s still a bloodsucking demon. Although Miyu has mainly good intentions and she chooses her human victims very carefully, from time to time she enjoys playing with human lives. Being an immortal demon, Miyu has no empathy for humans and she may even let people die in front of her. Do not let her good girl image fool you; this vampire lady can get quite scary.
7. Shion Sonozaki from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni / When They Cry

Shion Sonozaki is one of our favorite psycho killer girls. She’s Mion Sonozaki’s identical twin, which is already quite creepy. Sometimes these two girls switch places and it can get rather disturbing not knowing whether you’re talking to the fun and cheerful twin or to the one that may kidnap and stab you to death. That’s right, Shion Sonozaki can get a little berserk sometimes. Whenever she gets extremely upset, she may experience psychotic episodes that drive her to kill people in the most wicked and horrifying ways. And as if the killing part wasn’t scary enough, Shion also laughs like a total creep while she’s at it.
6. Misaki Mei from Another

Misaki Mei is by far the sweetest and most adorable girl on our list, although that doesn’t change the fact that she’s creepy as hell. She’s been scaring the hell out of everyone at school since day one; it’s no wonder why the rest of the students refuse to talk to her. The first girl to die on Another (in that epic death scene at the stairs) actually died after being freaked out by Misaki’s mere presence. But how can this cute and seemingly harmless young girl be so scary? We don’t want to spoil anything in case you still haven’t watched this awesome show, but the reason why Misaki Mei is so creepy is because we can’t tell whether she’s dead or alive for most of the show. Weird things happen, no one but the main character can talk to her at first, she sits on an old deteriorated desk and she wears an eye patch for some mysterious reason. Everything about her makes us think she might be a ghost and that she brings death to everyone around her, although we keep constantly questioning that idea, which is also why this show is so great.
5. Palm Siberia from Hunter x Hunter (2011)

This is where it starts to get really creepy. Since we’ve mentioned Sadako (the girl from The Ring; “Samara” in the American version), the next particular anime girl comes right to our mind. Palm Siberia is a hunter with a particularly unsettling look. She has long scruffy dark hair, very pale skin and she’s usually seen wearing a long pink dress. Besides, she emanates a dark and frightening aura caused by stress. Despite her very disturbing look that makes us think she’ll pop out of the TV and take our soul when we least expect it, Palm is actually a nice woman with warm feelings towards Gon. Of course, as her super creepy appearance also implies, she’s not exactly the sanest girl ever. Palm has a rather volatile temper and can even experience violent and psychotic outbursts. Yeah, other than that, she’s pretty normal…
4. Yuno Gasai from Mirai Nikki / The Future Diary

And since we’re talking about temperament (no, we’re not bringing Trump up. That’d be way too creepy) and violent psychotic outbursts, we obviously have to talk about the yandere queen, Yuno Gasai. Yuno is by far one of the creepiest and most frightening girls in anime, mainly because she’s totally unpredictable. Just when you think you’ve seen her craziest and most psychotic side, you find another skeleton in her closet (sometimes literally). Yuno is capable of absolutely anything in order to be with the target of her sick obsession, her lovely Yuki. She would go as far as drugging him and kidnapping him; hell, she would even kill him if that allowed her to be with him. But still, Yuno’s creepiness goes even further than that. What makes her truly creepy is her bipolarity and how she changes from a sweet loving girl to a psychopathic serial killer. That and her crazy eyes; those can really freak you out!
3. Ai Enma from Jigoku Shoujo / Hell Girl

And now we enter the realm of the really spooky. Ai Enma is a creepy little girl who dwells in a world of twilight. She is known as Hell Girl because her job consists on taking the souls of her victims directly to Hell. It is said that you can reach her on a website at midnight (what are they doing next, Youtuber demons?) and type the name of the person you hate so that Hell Girl comes to take their soul. The story may sound a bit like a cliché, but Ai Enma is an awesome and really creepy character. She has been delivering people’s vengeance for over 400 years already. That is Ai’s punishment for unleashing her own hatred against the people who killed her and burned their entire village to cinders. Seriously, how can so much hatred fit in such a little girl?

2. Megumi Shimizu from Shiki

Of course, one vampire girl is not enough to make a good list of creepy anime characters. That’s why we also have the sexy yet startling Megumi Shimizu. She’s one of the creepiest and most vicious Shikis around. Megumi is a bloodthirsty demon capable of such monstrous acts as killing her friend’s father. Megumi hates the villagers so much for not accepting her eccentricity in life that she enjoys killing them and making them suffer. Although she enjoys creeping into boys’ rooms much more. Megumi is still a girl after all, and as such she is attracted to hot young guys like Natsuno, whom she loves to stalk. Megumi is the kind of vampire girl who can come out from under your bed when you least expect it to give you a surprise you’ll never forget…

1. Sachiko Shinozaki from Corpse Party: Tortured Souls

And finally we have the creepiest ghost girl in the history of anime. Sachiko Shinozaki is the run-for-your-freaking-life kind of girl. She was murdered by the school principal in such brutal way that she cursed the school, and even after several generations her ghost still haunts everyone in it. For a 7-year-old girl, Sachiko is a tiny bit more sadistic and gruesome than you’d expect. She enjoys watching people suffer both physically and psychologically, and she can get really creative with the ways in which she tortures, mutilates, and murders her victims. Sachiko loves hanging people as much as she loves slicing, slashing, and eviscerating them, although quite often she will just settle for poking her victims’ eyes out with her weapon of choice, a pair of scissors. Yup, Sachiko is indeed scary as hell, and you need to have guts to face her (literally).

Conclusion

Kyouko is a sweet, teenage girl who dreams of being a princess and believes in fairy tail endings, which is why she followed her childhood friend, Shou, to Tokyo to help him follow his dreams. While in Tokyo, Kyouko has been working hard every day to support their lifestyle while she waits for Shou's career to pick up. One day, she overhears Shou bad mouthing her and calling her a boring wallflower despite all that she did to support him, so Kyouko swears vengeance and enters the entertainment world to accomplish her goals. Yes, the #10 creepy anime girl is Mogami Kyouko, who shines bright with talent and innocence. Why? Once Shou breaks Kyouko's innocent young female heart, we get to see Kyouko's inner demons swarm out with a desire for vengeance. Not only that but Kyouko develops a routine of cursing Shou, muttering to herself openly, and plaguing the public with her inner demons. It's a riot to see how Kyouko gets herself into trouble with her dark wrath and hatred, especially when she's the type who wants to be a princess. Maybe she can be a princess of darkness?

9. Motoba Kirie (Himouto! Umaru-chan)

Doma Umaru is perfect in every way from her grades, athletic ability, beauty, and personality, but when she gets home, she's a hamster loving otaku with a love for junk food, video games, anime, TV, and cola! Her older brother Taihei always ends up stuck with all the chores. Umaru's camouflage is perfect, however, so when others see her in her "himouto" mode, they don't even know it's her. Motoba Kirie is a creepy anime girl who is often misunderstood as being a bad person, which often leaves her alone. Why is she creepy? Well, even if Kirie is technically kind at heart, she has been known to stalk Umaru home, worship chibi Umaru, and stare in silence for long periods of time, which could make anyone uncomfortable.

8. Kosame (Girls Bravo: First Season)

Due to his small size, Yukinari has always been terrorized by girls which resulted in his developing an allergy to girls that causes him to break out in hives if he is near a girl or touched by a girl. One day Yukinari is transported to Seiren, a city that orbits the Earth and is female dominated. Yukinari is terrified of the girls who chase him in Seiren, but there is one special girl, Miharu, whose touch does not give him hives. Kosame is one scary girl to do combat against, but watch out, if you beat her, she's the obsessive type. Throughout Girls Bravo, she’s constantly stalking Kirie, spying on her, and if she gets a chance, Kosame goes for the grab! Whether it's just an obsessive girl crush or full on shoujo ai, Kosame does not do things lightly, but it's her creepy antics that make Girls Bravo a fun anime to catch when you need a few laughs.

7. Katsura Kotonoha (School Days)

Itou Makoto falls in love with Katsura Kotonoha, a girl who rides the same train as he does. His new classmate, Saionji Sekai finds out about his crush and offers to help him. Although Sekai is successful in getting Makoto and Kotonoha together, deep down, she also has feelings for Makoto. When Makoto laments on how to repay Sekai for her kindness, she claims a kiss as her compensation and leaves him dumbfounded in time for his date with Kotonoha. Katsura Kotonoha ranks pretty high on the list of creepy ex-girlfriends which earned her a rightful place as a top 10 creepy anime girl. With her imaginary boyfriend Makoto, obsessive and psychotic behavior, and bloody solutions, Kotonoha is definitely one creepy anime girl that you should not mess with. Well, it's also thanks to her psychoticism that we have the beautiful ending that can only be School Days.

6. Kuroki Tomoko (Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui! [WataMote: No Matter How I Look At It, It’s you Guys’ Fault I’m Unpopular!])

Tomoko's got decades of experience with boys but only in otome games. In reality, she's a teenage shut in who matches the definition of a "mojo" or gloomy girl. Tomoko thought that everything would change for her when she went to high school. She thought she'd make friends, be popular, and get a boyfriend, but once she graduated into high school, Tomoko found that nothing has changed. Now that she's in high school, it's time to take a look at herself in the mirror and fix the problem, but mirrors don't lie and what Tomoko sees isn't what she expected. Kuroki Tomoko is probably what ignorant people think of when they first imagine "female otaku". You'll find yourself constantly switching between sympathy and creeped out when you watch WataMote. Maybe it's her misconception about beauty, erotic dreams in school, or the way she giggles as she is verbally abused by a recording from her favorite seiyuu that makes Tomoko one of the creepiest anime girls, but it's what makes WataMote worthwhile to watch.

5. Nakahara Sunako (Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge[The Seven Metamorphoses of Yamato nadeshiko])

Kyouhei, Ranmaru, Takenaga and Yuki are living in a mansion for free, but what does this paradise cost them? They have to turn the landlady's niece into a perfect lady, except unbeknownst to them, Sunako is a gore loving, gloomy girl who lurks in the shadows. While they try to get her to come out of her shell, Sunako is blinded by their brightness and constantly faints with a nosebleed. Is Sunako going to become a lady first or is she going to die from blood loss? Sunako skulks the halls bringing gloom and terror to classmates and her roommates. Sunako is the type to seek refuge in the science laboratory with animals preserved in mysterious fluids and anatomical skeletons. She's the creepy anime girl whose best friends are anatomical figures and skeletons that she keeps hidden away in her dark bedroom! If that doesn't make Sunako creepy enough, Sunako cooks like she's in a slasher film and moves like Sadako. However, with all these traits, Sunako makes Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge a hilarious anime to watch. There are not many shoujo heroines out there that would choose a chainsaw as their weapon of choice.

4. Sadatsuka Nao (Shokugeki no Soma[Food Wars])

Yukihara Soma has been working at his family's restaurant since he was little with the dream that he would be able to inherit the restaurant and cook better than his father, but one day, his father decides to close up shop to cook around the world. Soma is told to enroll into Totsuki Culinary Academy, a school with a 10% graduation rate, to hone his skills. Soma isn't expecting much, but when he arrives, he is surprised by what he discovers when he attends Totsuki, a school famous for its showdowns called the Shokugeki. The Shokugeki pits students against each other in a gamble to test their skills. Soma soon discovers he's not the only one with a talent for cooking and perhaps cooking school isn't as boring as he thought it was. There is no way you missed Nao in Shokugeki no Soma. She stalks Erina in the trees and secretly curses Erina's best friend and aide, Hisako. It's not just her stalking ability that makes her such a creepy anime girl, it's how she brings her personality out in her cooking. No one could concoct a foul smelling, black sludge and call it curry but Nao. You've never know if she was nourishing you or poisoning you!

3. Priscilla (Claymore)

Yoma wander the earth feasting on human entrails and then camouflaging into society by changing into a human form. To defend humans against Yoma, half-yoma half-human warriors known as Claymores for the swords that they wield or "Silver-eyed Witches" for their silver eyes are sent out by an organization to fight the Yoma. While humans need the Claymores to survive, they hate them and shun them from society. Raki, a young boy, loses everything to the Yoma and is saved by a Claymore, Clare. With no one willing to care for him, Raki runs off with Clare to join her on her journey and learn about the existence of Claymores, beings who are so hated by society but keep society alive. What makes Priscilla a creepy anime girl, and actually all awakened beings, is the fact that she can seem so coherent and sweet at one moment, and then murderously slay you the next. Combined with Priscilla's control of youki and skill, Priscilla is not a predator you want stalking you. It's truly her innocent demeanor that should really creep you out the most because it lures you in before turning into a monster that will be your demise, but that's also what makes her one creepy anime girl to love because she makes a worthy antagonist.

2. Shimizu Megumi (Shiki)

Megumi dreams of living it up big in the city in contrast to her quiet village life in Sotoba, where she looks forward to nothing but seeing the boy she has a crush on, Yuuki Natsuno. Things take a turn for the worst when Megumi dies in what is deemed a village epidemic, and Natsuno finds himself haunted by Megumi after her death. Meanwhile, Ozaki Toshio, the local doctor, questions the nature of the disease plaguing the village. Between Toshio and Natsuno, they attempt to save Sotoba from the evil lurking in the shadows. Aside from the fact that she's dead yet wandering the earth, Shimizu Megumi makes a name for herself as a creepy anime girl. She's barely even spoken with Natsuno, but after her death, Megumi becomes obsessive and deluded, believing that only she has the right to turn Natsuno into a vampire. Megumi watches Natsuno from the shadows with a fiery possessiveness and haunts him in his dreams. Make sure that when you visit Sotoba, you aren't crushed my Megumi's "crush".

1. Gasai Yuno (Mirai Nikki)

Amano Yukiteru is a teenage boy who is timid and has a habit of communicating with imaginary friends on his cell phone diary. Somehow, Gasai Yuno falls in love with him and they are thrown into a game of survival involving the future and their cell phone diaries, all led by the God of time, an imaginary friend that Yukiteru thought he made up. In this game, only one can survive and become God. Gasai Yuno makes it as the top on our list of creepy anime girls! While her yandere traits add to her creepiness, it's her obsession, blind devotion, ability to kill without remorse, and twisted sense of justice that makes Yuno one of the creepiest anime girls. It's such a contrast to her cute appearance! Even her own future diary is a reflection of her personality: obsessive stalker, but she makes up for everything that Yukiteru lacks. You can't have Mirai Nikki without Yuno.

Top 10 Anime Introverts [Updated]

Before reading this article, know that this is an update of the one we previously published. Be sure to scroll down and check that out as well when you are done with this one! As far as we know, introverts are those people who prefer spending time alone, in order to energize their inner being. Introverts can be found in their homes, sitting in quiet parks reading books, or enjoying the silence of a library. We need to point it out: an introvert is not always a synonymous for shy. In fact, introverts enjoy spending time with friends, or family, or even strangers, but they just find it draining interacting with people for a long period. That's why they need some time alone, afterwards, in order to recharge their energy. The world of anime is full of these kinds of characters: in this ranking we'll talk about ten introverts in ten popular anime and their amazingly interesting personalities!
10. Urara Shirahishi from Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo (Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches)

Ryuu Yamada entered the Suzaku High, in order to start a brand-new life, where no one would know about his bad reputation. After one boring year, though, he decided to revert to his old ways: always starting fights, while his grades gradually dropped. Urara Shirahishi is a beautiful honor student, and the exact opposite of Ryuu. One day, she encounters Ryuu and a misstep makes them both fall down the stairs. Accidentally kissing while falling, the two magically switch bodies! That's how Ryuu's life turns even more troublesome. Urara Shirahishi is a brilliant student, and she comes across as cold and antisocial. Of course, that's just a facade she built, after a past where she was bullied for being beautiful and intelligent. She is an introvert, always focusing of what's most important for her: taking her studies seriously. It takes a person like Ryuu to discover how much this introverted girl is actually very gentle, and open to spend time with the people she likes. But she sticks to her true personality: she keeps preferring soliloquies more than speaking out loud!
9. Sawako Kuronuma from Kimi ni Todoke (From Me To You)

Sawako Kuronuma, with her long, black hair and her resemblance with the protagonist of a horror movie, is frequently misunderstood by her classmates. Her intentions come across as malicious, but actually she is just shy and unable to amend what's been misunderstood. She has just one wish: to make friends and spend her teenage years happily. When she manages to befriend the person she looks up to, Shouta Kazehaya, her school life immediately changes for the better! Sawako Kuronuma is actually shy, but she is a full-fledged introvert, too. After being constantly misunderstood, she developed the habit to be extremely conscious of her actions. Even after finally making friends who truly love her just like she is, she keeps thinking about what she should do to be a better friend, and how to improve her social skills. As a true introvert, though, she is very comfortable around her friends, and this starts to make her more sociable even when she is among strangers.
8. Kou Mabuchi from Ao Haru Ride (Blue Spring Ride)

Futaba Yoshioka tried her best to reset her image during high school, after being bullied for being too cute during junior high. Now a tomboy, she eats a lot, stomps instead of walking, and doesn't use make-up. When she bumps into Tanaka-kun – now Mabuchi – who was her first love during junior high, but who disappeared after summer break, and he states that he liked Futaba back then, it feels like destiny. Except for the fact that right after, he adds that they're not meant to be anymore. How will Futaba react, still harboring feelings toward Tanaka-kun? After his mother's death, and the issues he went through during the three years away from Tokyo, Kou Mabuchi turned into a very introverted boy. He gradually closed his heart, and started preferring being alone, rather than being with other people. Kou shows another trait characterizing introverts: the inability to rely on others. When Futaba breaks through the walls Kou built around himself, though, he eventually shows himself to be pretty comfortable with his small group of friends; not only that, his kind personality expands to its fullest!
7. Anna Kobayakawa from Nijiiro Days (Rainbow Days)
Natsuki Hashiba has been dumped by his girlfriend on Christmas Eve. Lonely and brokenhearted, he bursts into tears in the middle of the road, right in front of a karaoke where Anna Kobayakawa works part-time in. In a Santa Claus suit, Anna sees Natsuki crying and offers him some tissues. For Natsuki it's love at first sight, but what about Anna? Their teenage love journey is about to begin! Anna Kobayakawa is a very quiet girl, and as an introvert, she may come across as a bit gloomy at times. The truth is that she just does things at her own pace, leaving out what may hinder her peace. Anna has a crush on Natsuki, but she is unable to say it out loud, not even to her close friends. When Natsuki reveals to her that he has someone he likes, she begins her soliloquies on her own, disappointed that she's not the one. Anna doesn't know that Natsuki was talking about her, yet she doesn't bother her friends with her complaints; she whines to herself.
6. Majime Mitsuya from Fune wo Amu (The Great Passage)

Before retiring, Kouhei Araki – editor of the dictionary editorial division at Genbu Publishing – needs to find a substitute for his last project, a dictionary called “The Great Passage”. Araki doesn't seem to find a suitable person, at least until Majime Mitsuya, who works for the sales division, catches his attention. Thanks to his enthusiasm with words, Mitsuya may be the one to carry on Araki's project. There's just a little problem, Mitsuya lacks social skills altogether! Just as you can imagine by the premises, Majime Mitsuya is our introvert man unable to read the mood. Clumsy, awkward, and with a talent for saying things when they shouldn't be said, Mitsuya tends to hole himself up surrounded by books, and that's why he caught Araki's attention. He demonstrates to be comfortable with a small group of people, like his colleagues of the dictionary editorial division, together with whom he will achieve a great success. If you want to witness Mitsuya's soliloquies, give Fune wo Amu a shot!

5. Yakumo Yuurakutei from Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu (Descending Stories: Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju)

During his long, boring days in prison, Yotarou spent his time listening to Yakumo's performances of Rakugo, a form of comedic Japanese story telling. Fresh out of the prison, Yotarou starts begging Yakumo Yuurakutei to become his apprentice. Yakumo refuses to take him as an apprentice, but when Yotarou's pleas don't seem to stop, what's left for Yakumo is to surrender. Yotarou becomes Yakumo's first apprentice, and that will become a chance for Yakumo to revisit his past and remember his dear friend, Sukeroku Yuurakutei. Throughout the entire series, Yakumo shows his introversion in all respects. As we follow his growth, from childhood to adulthood, we realize how much of an introvert he is. Yakumo suffered his entire life, for one reason or the other, but not even once did he rely on others, nor complained to his friends. He carried his burdens all by himself and focused only on how to improve his Rakugo performances: only that mattered to him. Even as an old man, he sticks to his introverted personality, trying to sort things out all by himself. An incorrigible introvert, he’s a perfect fit for this ranking.
4. Ami Mizuno from Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Crystal (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal)

Usagi Tsukino is your typical middle-school student, who hates studying and loves eating and playing video games. One day she saves a kitty that was being bullied by some kids and to Usagi's surprise, that kitty is a talking cat named Luna. Luna gives Usagi a magical brooch enabling her power to become Sailor Moon. This clumsy little girl has now a mission way bigger than her: to save Earth from the forces of evil, to find the other Sailor Soldiers, and to find their princess Serenity and the Silver Crystal, which is craved by the evil ones. Will she be able to carry out the mission? Ami Mizuno is one of the Sailor Soldiers as Sailor Mercury. Ami is a very insecure girl, in spite of being very clever, and an honors student. As an introvert, she likes reading and spending time alone in libraries, but she is very kind and shows the sweet side of her when she meets Usagi. Throughout the series, we see her introverted personality change. Ami surrounds herself with a small group of friends – the other Sailor Soldiers – and demonstrates that she is comfortable while spending time with them. Let's not forget she remains an introvert, though: inner thoughts, soliloquies, and detailed rationalizations will characterize her until the end!
3. Naho Takamiya from Orange

Naho Takamiya is a 16-year-old high school girl when she receives a strange letter. It seems that letter was sent by herself from ten years in the future. At first, Naho thinks it's just a prank letter from some of her friends, but she is shocked when day after day, what's written on that letter actually happens. Naho from the future has a request for the 16-year-old Naho. According to the letter, Kakeru, the new transfer student who immediately became Naho's friend, won't be with them in the future. Naho from the future asks herself to change that regretful past! Naho Takamiya is a shy girl, and a true introvert. Throughout the series, she comes across as a passive girl, accepting whatever happens to her, without talking back. Actually, she talks to herself and expresses to herself her preferences and delusions. Yet, she is unable to speak loudly about how she feels, because she is afraid of hurting others. Naho keeps thinking about what she could do to improve her social skills, and what she could do to save Kakeru, but she does it all on her own. Her small group of friends will remind Naho that she's not alone, and Kakeru will teach her how to express her preferences and speak her mind!
2. Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul

His weakness towards intellectual girls, cost Ken Kaneki – a university student – a drastic change in his life. He meets Rize, a seemingly intellectual girl, who turns out to be a ghoul, a creature that eats humans. One night she assaults Kaneki, who manages to survive; after going through a surgery, Ken life is saved, but there's a problem: he is now half-ghoul and half-human being, due to the fact that Rize's kagune has been used in place of a new kidney. Will Ken be able to adapt to his new self? Ken Kaneki is an introvert in all respects: he likes holing himself up into the library, all alone, instead of spending time hanging out with his only friend – Hide. It's exactly his being an introvert that resulted in him being turned into half a ghoul. If before the accident, Kaneki was quiet, and taciturn, after becoming a ghoul, he turns even more introverted. He manages to create bonds with other ghouls, who become like his new family, but in order to keep them safe he decides to act all on his own and put his own life at stake.
1. Rei Kiriyama from 3-gatsu no Lion (March Comes in Like a Lion)

Rei Kiriyama is a 17-year-old professional Shogi player, with a difficult past. His parents and little sister died in a car accident, leaving him all alone. Soon after, a friend of Rei's father – Kouda – took Rei in, but out of jealousy, Kouda's kids never accepted him as a foster brother. With the tension building up in his adoptive family, Rei decided to move out and live on his own. In the darkest moment of Rei's life, the fated meeting with the Kawamoto sisters – Rei's neighbors – will turn the tables. Thanks to them, Rei will eventually experience once again the warm feeling of a loving family. Rei Kiriyama is probably the epitome of the introverted character. Thanks to flashbacks we see throughout the story, we realize that he was a loner since he was a little child, frequently bullied by his classmates, so much so that he developed the tendency to rely only on himself. Growing up, Rei's exclusion got even worse: after all the things he went through, he began to spend even more time alone. If it wasn't for Shogi, he wouldn't even bother to meet other people. The fated meeting with the three Kawamoto sisters, three girls who have lost everything just like him, will be Rei's starting point turning him from a lonely introvert to a sociable one. If you wish to see for yourself Rei Kiriyama's deeds, give 3-gatsu no Lion a chance. You'll understand why we gave Rei our first position.

On a broad scale, introversion is defined as any individual who relies on their internal feelings and moods rather than actively seek out external pleasures. That is not to say that they are socially inept, while they may not participate in group activities, they are still perfectly comfortable within smaller groups and perhaps their closest peers. The only thing that makes an introvert interesting is their expansive inner world. There, their thoughts flow freely and is what truly defines their character. Today, we will explore 10 different characters from popular series who are introverts and we will explore just how fascinating their introspection and soliloquies can be!
10. Hyouka - Oreki Houtarou

Minimalistic, simple and somewhat boring would be the words to describe Oreki. He truly believes in doing things only when it is absolutely necessary. When requested to join the Classics club by his sister, he cannot reject her. Oreki meets Chitanda, an inquisitive girl whose curiosity is perhaps the only thing that can get Oreki to act. Together with her and the Classics Club, they solve the little mysteries that occur at their school. His minimalism extends to that of social interactions as well. Oreki is a true introvert who always turns inwards and focuses on conserving his energy than seeking outward stimulation. As a passive individual, he is also shown to be highly aware of his surroundings. This heightened awareness is also one of the reasons as to why he has a keen mind and adept at solving mysteries. Although not vocal in class, once Oreki is in the Classics Club, he becomes more vocal and expresses more of his thoughts to them.
9. Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. - Hikigaya Hachiman

Hikigaya's jaded views on society made him believe in acting alone. Somewhat nihilistic, he rejects social conventions by passing social niceties as a mere farce to keep up one's image. While Hikigaya is somewhat correct, his teacher does not see it. She forced him to join the Service Club in the hopes that volunteer work will improve his perception. As ironic as it is, his pessimistic views and methods helped to solve more than just a few problems during his service. Hikigaya has been shown to be tuning inwards to his own feelings all the time. He perceives society as detrimental and contradictory, and chose to rely solely on himself. Hikigaya’s inner monologues raises a few controversial questions on society that really makes you reflect on your own standards of society. It goes without saying that many introverts that have watched this anime found similarities between Hikigaya and themselves. If you believe yourself to be an introvert, you will be sympathetic to Hikigaya and his views. Don't believe us? Try this anime out for yourself! He is a bona fide introvert whose only mistake is proclaiming the poisons of society tactlessly.
8. Bakemonogatari - Koyomi Araragi

Perhaps the king of soliloquies, the Monogatari series employs the avant-garde technique of inner monologue to convey a story. Many people have questioned why an anime where most of the content consists of either dialogues or monologues can be so popular. The Monogatari series is the best form to explain the beauty of an introvert's mind. The notion of continuous dialogue may bore most. However, the ideas and quality of the conversations in the anime is what defines it and sets it apart from simple chatting. The focus of the series is mainly on its MC, Araragi. The whole anime is based on the perspective of Araragi himself. Instead of painting an environment for us, the creators had allowed us to exist within the mind of Araragi. Here, we are able to see that he is an individual who clearly reflects on the day to day occurrence of his life. But the clincher that convinces us why Araragi has got to be an introvert - we see him speaking inside his mind than actually speaking out loud.
7. Death Note - L.L

In the world of Death Note, no one holds a candle to L when it comes to logic and reasoning. Even in his field, he is enigmatic and largely unknown and only the most baffling of cases are assigned to him. His uncanny understanding of the reactions of humans has allowed him to be one step ahead of his foe. As amazing as he is, he is not without his quirks - an extreme sweet tooth and an inclination to working alone. Other than the fact that he is a genius detective, nothing else is known about him. L.L introversion is best seen when he doesn't actively show his face in public. He is known by many aliases and only contacted by the police for the most problematic case. He mostly kept to himself where his sleuthing skills are at the peak. Even in the anime, no one is able to comprehend his sophisticated thinking and logic. He trusts nobody with the exception of Watari, which highlights his independence from the external world.
6. Angel Beats - Kanade Tachibana

Tachibana first appeared as an antagonist: Tenshi, as she was known then was the regulator of the new world who suppresses the goals of the SSS. Not much is known about her as she rarely speaks. Until the later half of the episode, Tenshi usually eats and works alone. Her lack of expression also raises some issues on whether she was sentient or not. It wasn't until Otonashi started talking to her that she started revealing her personality. The bulk of Tachibana's introversion is due to the role that she has been assigned. She did not have any opportunity to communicate with the opposing team. Even after talking to Otonashi, she still enjoys solitary activities such as gardening. Even then, she does not speak much. Her soft spoken nature and delicate behavior also pinpoints her as a true introvert.
5. ReLIFE - Hishiro Chizuru

In her high school life, Hishiro never truly really had any friends and she has no problems with it. She is no doubt very smart, scoring high in every test. However, what she has in intelligence, she compensates for her social awareness. She is oblivious to other's feelings and can be blunt with her words. Not only that, she is unable to smile properly and can only manage a devilish smirk. Most of the time before she had friends, Hishiro can be seen reading. Hishiro places little importance in others and is only devoted to studying and improving her grades. She takes no active role in engaging conversations. As an introvert, she only spends her time studying most, if not all the time. With Kaizaki's help however, Hishiro starts to converse with her school mates in an effort to make friends. It is evident however that she is not the kind to initiate activities and can even be awkward when introducing herself. Like any introvert, she also shows that she can be independent alone and does need the company of others.
4. Welcome to the NHK - Tatsuhiro Satou

Tatsuhiro has been a hikikomori for years now. He refused to step out of his apartment as he believes in the existence of a secret organization known as the NHK spreading the growth of the hikikomori culture. As delusional as he is, Tatsuhiro eventually did step out of his home one day and happened to meet Misaki. She tries to change him by undergoing therapy but it is not easy. Will this duo eventually overcome their respective problems? It's quite certain that traits of introversion can be found in a hikikomori. They shut themselves from society and prefer not to engage in social interactions. If anything, they are the most extreme form of introversion. What makes Tatsuhiro interesting however is the change that he is undergoing to fit in back to society again. There we can see that not all introverts are dysfunctional and unsociable. Through Tatsuhiro, we learn that he has his own viewpoints on certain issues. No doubt the premise being a bit ridiculous, the conclusion however, is highly logical.
3. Nagato Yuki chan no Shoushitsu - Yuki

Nagato undergoes a drastic change in personality in her very own spin off. A high school girl now, it features her with her high school friends going about their daily school lives. A side story would be her interest in Kyou as well which is also explored in the series. She still retains some of her traits from the original Nagato such as her love of books. The new Nagato is a much more expressive individual with much more emotions! Nagato in this spin off appears more sociable than her aloof counterpart in the original Haruhi series. Still quiet as ever, it is only due to her introversion and her shyness. She also appears to have more feelings as she now shows interest in Kyou but is too shy to express it. Most of the time, she can be seen thinking to herself and reflecting. And of course, her most introverted trait would still be her love of books and solitary activities.

2. Kimi Ni Todoke - Kuronuma Sawako

Due to her frightening experience, Sawako is often misunderstood and is often shunned away at school. Her appearance is similar to the ghost character from popular horror film, 'The Ring' to which her nickname is also Sadako. But really, she is just a shy girl who wants friends. During summer break, she happened to meet the popular and good looking Kazehaya. He was the first friend she makes as he was able to see beyond her scary appearance. It wasn't long before Sawako eventually starts developing feelings for him... Sawako has no friends since middle school during a flashback. This made her socially inept and she often reflects on her actions and engages in soliloquy on how to better make friends. Even after she made friends, she usually thinks about how to better improve her relationship with them and is very thoughtful for their feelings. Sawako usually hangs out around the same group of people as she feels more comfortable around them. Due to that, she is more sociable with the people she is close with, a common introvert trait.

1. Naruto - Hinata Hyuuga

Hinata is the daughter of the reputable Hyuuga clan. Due to the clan's hierarchy and her position as the head's daughter, she has been pressured to do her best such that she may continue taking over the family one day. Meek and timid, she tries her best but always falls short of her father's expectation. She also has a crush on Naruto but dares not openly admit it. As such, most of the time she gets embarrassed when Naruto is close to her. When the story arcs get focused on her alone, you can really tell that Hinata has been an introvert all her life due to her family background. She chooses not to express her views on most matters and instead chose to accept it as it is whichever the circumstances. She does have her views on important issues to which Hinata carefully considers and ponders over them instead of acting upon it. It is not that does not have many friends either; it's just that she has a select few of close friends that she can really rely on in her time of need. Beyond all that, her soft spoken nature is all that is needed to show that Hinata does not prefer the activities of a large group too.

Conclusion
And thus, we end our list of the introverts in anime! Do you count yourself as an introvert or an extrovert? How would you describe yourself as an introvert? Did any of the characters on the list strike off as being very similar to you? Which character do you love most? Leave a comment below and we will see you next time!

Top 10 Princess Anime [Updated Best Recommendations]

“Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown.” The world of a princess usually entails head over heels romance and magical surprises leading to a happy ending, but princess anime proves that this is not always the case. Princess anime presents to viewers the enormous responsibilities of being born royalty, juggling everyday experiences such as romance, friendships, challenges, and success. While anime containing a strong princess lead can often be intertwined with other elements such as fantasy, drama, history, and the like, many on this list are very simplistic, essentially viewing their ordinary daily lives. With that said, in the following anime, we present ten recommendations for the best princess series. We know there are many more shows that capture the day in the life of royalty, so here’s what we’ve gathered so far! Enjoy!
10. Princess Princess

Princess Princess follows Tooru Kouno's trials and tribulations at the start of his time at an elite all-boys school. Transferring to a school without girls is difficult enough, but his stunning image unwillingly draws attention. Things begin to look brighter when he runs into a lovely pink-haired girl on campus. His classmate Yuujirou Shihoudani gives him the tour and shows him to his door. He soon meets Mikoto Yutaka, a student who looks strangely similar to the girl he just saw. Shockingly, Tooru realizes Mikoto is the girl, and Yuujirou reveals that he and Mikoto cross-dress as part of a school tradition in which attractive first years are hand-picked as idols called "Princesses" to boost the morale of the students. Tooru realizes he is a recruit. Not exactly an image of what we would typically perceive as a princess, but an interesting one! Tooru was shocked by this concept but later grows excited about the opportunity because the Princesses get all the swag. Tragedy and hardship struck Tooru early in his life and uses being a Princess as a distraction as well as having a familial bond with his peers. No one said a princess has to be a girl and we see that here in this anime.
9. Dog Days

Dog Days follows Cinque Izumi, a typical middle school student from Earth who gets sucked into a magical portal, taking him into a parallel universe. As Cinque agrees to become a representative of Biscotti and the dog-people, he defends the Republic from the feline Galette Leo Knights. With no idea how to return home, Cinque must remain and fight as scientists research his worrisome predicament. Dog Days takes place in an attractive fantasy setting. A funny and enjoyable anime, Dog Days also offers a touch of fan service. Dog Days has cute and playful characters and also a dark and serious side. In particular, as our characters deal with a lot of drama, bouts of emotional outbursts are likely to follow. Before the conflict, the discovery of a hypergate on the moon allowed humans to settle there, eventually revealing advanced technology called Aldnoah. Once established, this discovery led to the founding of the Vers Empire of Mars and a declaration of war against the "Terrans," those who stayed behind on Earth. The battle of “Heaven’s Fall” destroyed the hypergate and the moon, leading Earth and Mars to call a ceasefire. Fifteen years later, in attempts to repair relations, Princess Asseylum Vers Allusia was assassinated, thus ending the truce. War is declared once again between the Terrans and Martians. Aldnoah. Zero depicts the long-waged war from both sides. The Princess of the Vers Empire, Asseylum Vers Allusia, believes that no one group of people is better than the other, treating Terrans and Martians as equals. The two have become desperate as Amagi has less than three months to become a happening place or else the park will be closed for good. Seiya agrees because he becomes aware that Amagi is no ordinary amusement park, employing magical beings that are nourished by the energy created by people having fun. Good vibes ya’ll! Princess Latifa is a cheerful, caring and passionate person who takes pride in the health and well being of her employees and establishment. She doesn’t want to lose the park to greedy land developers. Thus, it is crucial that Amagi stays open to spread peace, love, and happiness around in a world that seems to forget to do so. 1. Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke)

Alongside battling his demon, Ashitaka must aid the opponents toward a proper solution, balancing and distributing power where it rightfully belongs. Princess Mononoke brings to the foreground the impacting issue of a changing world and how humanity has influenced its evolution. Hayao Miyazaki utilizes demons both figuratively and literally in this film as a spotlight on humankind’s tumultuous relationship with nature. Miyazaki displays how people have forgotten the need to worship and care for the land, expressing this powerful sentiment through Princess San. In a distant future where the humans living in the earth and the ones that colonize space are at war, the Mobile Suit Gundams are the ultimate weapons that will decide the weight of war for one side or the other. Piloted by very young and talented warriors Heero Yuy, Duo Maxwell, Trowa Barton, Quatre Raberba Winner and Wufei Chang, Gundams became a symbol of freedom confronting powerful enemies like the mysterious Zechs Marquise. Like a light in the darkness Princess Relena Peacecraft is one of the charismatic characters that will stand through this series as the incarnation of diplomacy. By getting in the heart of one of the best Gundam pilots Heero Yuy, this princess stands proud and fearless confronting the violence with an unyielding call to conciliation. She appeals to the leaders of opposite sides to abandon hostilities so all human beings can get to live in peace. This version named Crystal, surprises us with the psychological deepness of the drama where even the bad guys have a background story to support its actions, and the good guys have their moments of weakness to overcome. Sailor Moon Crystal depicts the growth of their characters, who besides to be Sailor Scouts, are the Princesses of their respective planet kingdoms. Top 10 Shoujo-Ai Anime [Updated Best Recommendations]

While the term shoujo-ai isn’t considered a term for a sub-genre of lesbian manga and anime in Japan, as it’s been adopted in the West, it’s pretty commonly recognized amongst Western anime fans. It usually denotes anime and manga with lesbian romance or at least the insinuation of lesbian desires without a fulfillment of serious physicality. The lack of graphic physical relationships is what separates it from yuri in our minds. Of course, shoujo-ai anime isn’t always just a lukewarm relationship between girls. Themes range from hilarious comedies with girls perving after other girls like in “Teekyuu” or as more dramatic, action-based anime with throbbing hearts like in Kannazuki no Miko. Whether love is realized or not, these 10 shoujo-ai anime will fill your need for lovely girls loving girls.
10. Maria†Holic

Despite Ame no Kisaki being a Catholic School, Kanako thinks the all-girls academy will be the place she’ll find her true love. She’s learned that boys make her break out in hives so she’s confused when a beautiful student touches her and Kanako suffers the same reaction. All becomes clear, however, when the student in question -Mariya- turns out to be a crossdressing guy who is a total sadist under his sweet, girlish exterior. Threatening to make Kanako’s life hell and moving into her room, Kanako will have to try to find love while fending off Mariya’s malice. Maria†Holic is hilarious and plays up the opposite natures of the main characters. Outwardly, Kanako hides her intentions of trying to see her friends naked and scoring herself a girlfriend, while Mariya cares more about proving herself to be a responsible person and often thwarts Kanako’s thirsty attempts. There are a number of cute girls in the cast and they often end up having moments where you wonder if Kanako’s wish will finally come true, but something funny always interrupts. If you want a main girl who is unashamedly after every cutie she sees, this is a fun show.
9. Sasameki Koto (Whispered Words)

Sumika and Ushio have been friends for a long time and Sumika has often been the shoulder for Ushio to cry on when her crushes on girls end up bringing her sadness. She doesn’t know, however, that Sumika harbors feelings for her best friend. Ushio only likes cute and girly girls, so the tall karate prodigy sees no point in confessing her feelings. While the two have always stuck together, new trials and new relationships will test the strength of their friendship. This show is as much about friendship as it is about love, and it’s nice that a shoujo-ai focuses on a potential couple that has already come to terms with their attraction to girls as opposed to wondering what their increased heart rate means every single time they become flustered. Ushio and Sumika develop meaningful friendships with characters who serve as more than romantic rivals and learn a lot about themselves and what is important to them. It’s more introspective than a lot of shoujo ai even though it’s from 2009.
8. Yuru Yuri (Yuru Yuri: Happy Go Lily)

Yuru Yuri follows the antics of 3 best friends who want nothing more than to spend their middle school years doing only what they like. The good-natured but forgettable Akari, the lazy but talented Kyouko, and the level-headed and dependable Yui form the ‘Amusement Club’ so they can slack off together after school, but various circumstances cause their circle to grow. With all of the girls having crushes on each other but having such drastically different personalities, emotions are always high! This anime has a number of cute, excitable girls going about their rather normal middle school lives. Everyone seems to be the constant victim of unrequited love and unwanted affection except for supposed main character Akari who lacks presence even in her own show! If you want something with lots of characters to love and laugh at, Yuru Yuri fits the bill.
7. Sakura Trick

Haruka and Yuu are best friends that are excited to start their highschool lives together in the same class, but Haruka starts to feel their relationship is threatened when Yuu makes a number of friends easily on the first day. The two decide to do something only the two of them will share so as to solidify their unique bond and settle on kissing. The two find themselves wanting to kiss more and more often, but with a suspicious student council president and nosy older sister, they’re only moments away from getting caught! This is another anime where a childhood friend turns lover, but there’s a WHOLE lot of kissing before the two really understand what they’re feeling is romantic love. They can admit to liking to kiss each other but find their growing feelings embarrassing. There are other lesbian couples in the show and those who would stand in Haruka and Yuu’s way, but theirs is a relationship that can’t be stopped! This is a feel-good anime with lots of kissing and doting on each other which makes it both sweet and exciting!

While being so different, these two are immediately drawn to each other by having the traits the other admires. Inugami immediately makes her affection known while Nekoyama slowly warms up to the dog-like girl. Along with their other animal-like schoolmates, the two spend their days getting to know each other better. Each episode is only about 4 minutes long but they sure manage to pack a lot of cuteness into each episode. While Nekoyama and Inugami are the obvious main pair of the show; sometimes, their attention shifts to other cute girls causing irritation to the other. All of the girls have a resemblance to some animal and are all quite adorable. If you’re not looking for a lot of story but just wanting some funny, cute, girl-love, you’ll enjoy Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san.

5. Hidan no Aria AA (Aria the Scarlett Ammo)

Schoolgirls that are skilled fighters known as butei are ranked by their abilities and are authorized to carry weapons and take on anything from minor public disturbances to terrorist attacks. Akari is the lowest ranked, yet yearns to become the partner of S-ranked Aria, a legend among butei. Despite a severe gap in their abilities, Aria grants Akari the chance to prove herself. Along with their friends, they’ll work to keep Japan safe and protect the ones they love. This is a spin-off series of Hidan no Aria, but with a predominantly female cast and yuri undertones. While most of the shoujo-ai is implied or unrealized, there’s enough to keep fans’ interest while also weaving a violent tale of intrigue. It’s hard to tell if Akari’s love for Aria is idol-worship, friendship, or something more, but it’s clear they mean the world to each other. Other characters have a more obvious infatuation with each other, such as Kirin’s obsession with Raika or a number of the girls towards Akari, so there’s plenty of fuel for the imagination.
4. Yuri Kuma Arashi

Bears and humans once existed in harmony until a strange meteor shower caused the bears to become violent and hungry for human flesh. Most everyone is assumedly gay which makes sense when almost everyone is a girl. Humans are all excellent marksmen and the bears have an advanced society. The plot is both mythical and confusing and also really violent. Characters are eaten and shot all while trying to fall in love.
3. Citrus

Yuzu is a stylish girl who likes to stand out and have a good time. When she’s forced into a strict all-girl high school and forced to tone down her looks, she’s not happy. It only gets worse when she finds out her mother married the father of the student council president who got Yuzu in trouble on her first day! Forced to cohabitate with the meanest person Yuzu has ever come across, she tries to figure out what her new step-sister Mei is really like. Despite a rocky start, the two find themselves growing closer and closer. Yuzu and Mei are totally different; Yuzu being all about fashion and fun and Mei caring about almost nothing and just trying to get through life without upsetting her family (aside from Yuzu). It’s pretty much a typical ‘two people meet and don’t get along, it must be love!’ scenario but it’s absolutely beautiful. Especially with Harumin and Yuzu’s sense of fashion and glam that helps them stand out. If you’re just looking for a full-length series that has drama and girls being physical while figuring out their feelings, you’ll enjoy Citrus.

2. Tachibanakan Triangle (Love to Lie Angle)
Natsuno Hanabi is excited to return to her hometown after so many years, hoping for the familiarity of happy days. Unfortunately for her, the old days are gone and her new home, Tachibanakan, is full of odd characters. She can’t even recognize her former best friend! Overwhelmed at how lewd most of the other residents are, it’ll be hard for Hanabi to live out her high school days in peace. Tachibanakan is like Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san in that all the girls are gay and the episodes are really short. It does feature some older women with some more mature themes so it stands out in its own way. It’s very funny and chock-full of innuendos and romantic notions between ladies.
1. Asagao to Kase-san
Kase and Yamada are just starting their relationship together and the two couldn’t be happier. They seem completely different, with Kase being a track star and incredibly popular and Yamada spending her time tending to the school’s plants and keeping mostly to herself, but they admire each other greatly. As they go about their lives, they’ll have to try to overcome their differences and misconceptions and see where their love will take them. At only an hour long, this OVA manages to weave a beautiful story where you get to see Kase and Yamada’s relationship change over the course of a year. There is some drama but it’s not like the usual entirely avoidable scenarios in romance anime and instead feels natural. It’s incredibly cute and the animation is beautiful while the embarrassed faces of our heroines will have you busting out laughing.
Final Thoughts
While we don’t want to pigeonhole anything, there are certain aspects of what we know as shoujo-ai we don’t get as much in other anime. Seeing love through the eyes of girls with other girls who share the same experiences, yet live different lives, is special. With anime girls being so aesthetically pleasing as well, it sure doesn’t hurt to have a beautiful couple or multiple cuties vying for each other’s attention!
[en]Original Article Below[/en][es]Versión anterior[/es]

Now, now, a lot of you silly know-it-alls just raised your eyebrows after reading the title of this article, but bear with us with for a moment here. The term “Shoujo-Ai” is never used in Japan as a type of category of anime. “Yuri” is the only category. But in the West, it categorizes anime that tells non-sexual relationships between girls, or simply used to categorize anime with girls love, be it subtext or not. Overall, the definition of “Shoujo-Ai” is pretty vague and it’s sometimes hard to differentiate itself to “Yuri.” But we’re not here to debate over the word! And since we’re Western fans, we should at least recognize that Shoujo-Ai is a category that is used throughout everywhere. To make this list differentiate itself from our Top 10 Yuri anime, we’re going to list anime that has some lezzy vibes that never develop into full-blown romantic relationships, or at least the girls have yet to confess and get accepted by their partner. So here we go!
10. Morita-san wa Mukuchi. (Miss Morita is Taciturn)

High school girl, Morita Mayu, is a bit more reserved than the others. Her classmates see her as a silent girl who doesn’t like to talk and is someone who stares them in the eyes, but in reality, Mayu thinks too much before she speaks, often ending up losing the opportunity to speak up. Regardless, though, Mayu is a happy girl with lots of friends in school, and surprisingly enough, her friends understand Mayu just by body language alone. Nothing much going on in this anime other than Mayu interacting with her friends without saying a word. While it’s typical slice of life, most of the jokes revolve around them getting way too close with some blushing on the side. With Morita being awkwardly silent to everything, like not reacting to something that’s intimate, the boys can only wonder if there’s something behind all that body contact. You can’t blame them, though. “Girls are nice… aren’t they?”
9. Kiniro Mosaic

Shinobu did a homestay in Great Britain when she was younger and developed a fetish for blondes, and an obsession on anything Western culture, despite her difficulty learning English. One day, Shinobu received a letter from Alice Cartelet, a very close friend who she was staying with overseas. The letter says: “Shinobu! I’m coming to Japan!” With Shinobu’s friend coming, things will start get interesting as she learns English… and ends up failing because she’s too distracted by those golden locks. You’ll start to notice a pattern here: If you make an anime with an all-girl cast, and it’s funny, there’s a 99.99% chance that you’ll see lots of subtext. Kiniro Mosaic is a prime example of this with the girls give off this lezzy vibe. Yeah, Shinobu’s attraction to anyone blonde way look borderline obsessive, but some of the character have genuine attraction to one another, especially the resident tsundere and love-stricken girl Komichi Aya and her fondness of her childhood tomboy-friend Inokuma Youko. Now come to think of it, Youko is the girl version of a clueless love interest.
8. Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? (Is the Order a Rabbit?)

Hoto Cocoa arrives at the cafe Rabbit House in a small Europe-esque town, expecting rabbits. Cocoa actually lives and works in that cafe, and along the way she meets new friends, new challenges and a brand new life. When it comes to the shoujo ai or girls love aspect, there are tons of it here like Cocoa who always dotes on Chino by being her big sister, and Chino, a silent-type girl who finds Cocoa’s incessant dotting someone troublesome or cute. Or Kirima Sharo, who has a huge crush on gun-otaku, Tedeza Rize. Though nothing romantic ever happens, it’s cute to see these girls interact with each other.
7. Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san

The story revolves around a timid girl, Nekoyama Suzu, who loves dogs and is overly friendly, and an air-headed girl, and Inugami Yachiyo, who loves cats. Upon their first meeting at school, they find themselves strangely attracted to each other, and with their everyday antics, Yachiyo’s friend, Hiiragi Aki, has to sometimes fix the chaos they’ve caused. It’s cute to see two girls attracted to each other mainly because they feel like the animals they love. The anime is more or less a rom-com type when Suzu is attracted to Yachiyo by sometimes going full tsundere, and Yachiyo hatching up plans to sedu—pet Suzu, only to be yanked by the collar by her friend, Aki. It’s too bad each episode is very short.
6. Strike Witches

Strike Witches is set in an alternate 1944, where the world found alien invaders instead of the Axis. These invaders are called the Neuroi, and mysteriously appeared before humanity in the year 1939. It is unknown where the Neuroi came from and why they are here, but it is a fact their relentless attacks drove people from their homes and countries. To combat the Neuroi threat, Humanity has devised a new type of weapon that harnesses magical energy, and in order for these weapons to work, they gathered every magic-using witches from around the world. These elite group of young witches are called the Strike Witches, and they are the first and last line of defense against the Neuroi threat. This may sound too serious and you’d be right, but Strike Witches is mainly a fanservice anime with lots of panty shots, butt shots, even nudity, and a good amount of yuri fanservice. There are lots of obvious couples in the anime too choose from. There are girls that are vaguely gay, but there’s no denying our lovable tsundere Frenchie Perrine H. Clostermann is the gayest girl in the cast. She’d practically give herself to her beloved, Major Sakamoto Mio.
5. K-ON!

Hirasawa Yui is a rather, uh, eccentric young girl who entered high school as a freshman and stumbled upon a poster for the school’s Light Music Club, and it sparked her imagination to sign up. Being such a carefree girl, she joined the club without any experience in playing an instrument and went to the club to explain. Disheartened, the current band members Ritsu, Mio and Tsumugi still wanted her to stay as member to prevent the club from disbanding. Yui’s imagination re-ignited once she tried out the guitar for the first time. This is the life of the Light Music Club. At first glance, Yui has taken a liking for Asuza, to the point of obsessive adoration, but over time the two became close that they’re more like sisters than anything. However, the biggest surprise in K-ON! is the interaction between drummer Ritsu and guitarist Mio. They didn’t know it, but the two get along very well, so well in fact that Ritsu found out in the most unexpected way. We won’t spoil it to you, but music can excite the emotions with just the right lyrics.
4. Anne Happy♪

Tennomifune Academy is not your typical high school, for they have a special class for helping fix the students with misfortune or overall bad karma. Hibarigaoka Ruri is one of these unfortunate girls, and with her friends Hanakoizumi An and Kumegawa Botan, they must work together and bring happiness to their unfortunate lives. Don’t be fooled at the rather gloomy story because Anne Happy is one of the cutest and incredibly funny anime that came out in 2016. What’s interesting about this anime (well, aside from the cute girls, and interesting story), is it quickly changed from a typical comedy slice of life into something yuri-centric. Around the 3rd episode, we are introduced to two supporting characters and the anime wasted no time in showing off that these two are so into each other. And it gets getting more intense in the next few episodes. Sure the anime is still ongoing, but what we’ve seen so far, Anne Happy will be something yuri fans will definitely love.
3. Candy Boy

Candy Boy revolves around the everyday life of very close twin sisters, Sakurai Kanade and Sakurai Yukino, living together in Tokyo to attend high school, and their rather clingy underclassman, Kamiyama Sakuya, who has a crush on one of the sisters. These sisters are so into each other, it hurts. This is one of the few anime that naturally convinces you to yell “KISS ALREADY!” because of the way they interact with each other, holding hands every single moment. And with the series ending without anything happening between the two is sometimes infuriating… in a good way. Eventually, things ended the way fans sorta wanted, but not enough for that “it’s finally official!” conclusion. Regardless if they’re a couple or not, Candy Boy is a sweet series about sisterly love.

2. Sakura Trick

Sakura Trick tells the love story of Takayama Haruka and Sonoda Yuu, and how they slowly build their newfound love for each other. Their love life isn’t really easy as they battle against a jealous big sister and hide their relationship from everyone… and Haruka is always finding ways to get a few smooches from Yuu. The anime has two established couples, but there is another couple that could potentially reach the official yuri couple status once one of them stops being clueless and realizes her best friend has a crush of her. We’re talking about Yuzu and Kaede, arguably the most popular couple in Sakura Trick. Why is that? Well, it’s simple because Haruka and Yuu, and Kotone and Shizuku are already couples, so there’s nothing much to expect. On the other hand, Yuzu and Kaede have lots of room to develop. Currently their relationship is rather unrequited, but who knows, things will development!

1. Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha)

Takamachi Nanoha is your typical third grader who happened to stumble upon a talking ferret who communicated with her telepathically. The ferret is actually a mage from another world named Yuuno, who accidentally scattered the mysterious Jewel Seeds around the city. Good job, Yuuno. Severely weakened, Yuuno convinced Nanoha to search for the Jewel Seeds in his stead by granting her magical powers to not only help him in the search, but also a way to stop monsters that are attracted by the Jewel Seeds. The monsters are the least of their worries because they’re not the only ones who are also looking for these seeds. The Nanoha series has been known to be filled with yuri undertones that any anime fan will immediately notice. If you could check a list of the most popular yuri pairings, Nanoha and Fate are one of the most recognizable couples in anime. Throughout the series, Nanoha has befriended another magical girl named Fate Testarossa, and ever since their fateful meeting, the two developed a bond that’s more than friendship. As these two grow, they end up living together sharing one bed and eventually adopted a child as their daughter.

Final Thoughts
The anime in this list represents Shoujo Ai, but also shows the vagueness of it. In the real world, Shoujo Ai and Yuri are just interchangeable, despite Yuri being categorized as pornographic in the West. If you ask someone what category Sakura Trick is at, chances are they’ll say Shoujo Ai. But if you ask someone else what category Sakura Trick is at, chances are they’ll say Yuri. You can use either term, but we just want you to know that one category was made in the West, while the other one is the true category Japan uses. So what do you think about the list and our rather brief lesson about Yuri? Please let us know by leaving a comment below!

With so much expectation placed on Tsuna’s shoulders, will he be able to grow into the greatness his family expects? Gamma is the wielder of the Fake Lightning Mare Ring, a tool which allows him to generate an electromagnetic shield powerful enough to block several attacks. He also uses electrified billiard balls which move at high speeds, ricochet and electrocute his enemies on contact!

Éclair and Lumiere are two operatives from the low C-Rank who wield incredible powers – Éclair boasts superhuman strength while Lumiere is capable of controlling any computer. Their lives go relatively simply until they begin to realise the darkness that exists within GOTT and the galaxy at large. Tweedledee is one half of a set of twins who work in the ES Unit like Éclair and Lumiere, in the high-ranked S-Class. She can control electricity, but boasts various other abilities which make her a formidable operative out in the field. 8. Pikachu – Pokemon

Pokemon are creatures of varying abilities and appearances. People known as Pokemon Trainers dedicate their lives to training the strange animals in order to get them to battle other Pokemon. The remaining Pokemon, the rebellious electric-type known as Pikachu became Ash’s new companion, proving to be a difficult challenge at first but soon the two became inseparable. Setting out to become the very best Trainer that ever was, Ash travels across various regions, meeting several characters and making many friends on his journey to becoming Pokemon Master. Pikachu is the well-known mascot character of the Pokemon franchise and Ash Ketchum’s (or Satoshi if you prefer) companion Pokemon. The two have an incredibly tight connection, initially having had issues with getting along. Pikachu’s signature attack is a lightning attack which it generates from its own body, making the Pikachu capable of intense electric shocks and high-speed attacks.
7. Budou – Akame ga KILL!
Night Raid is the assassination branch of the Revolutionary Army assembled in order to overthrow the evil Prime Minister Honest. Honest’s greed and power-hunger has caused many in the Empire to suffer the brunt of his corruption; however, Night Raid and the Revolutionary Army hope to use their experienced killers in order to bring hope to the empire, but they are aware that it won’t be simple. Tatsumi is a youth from a faraway village who came to the capital in order to join the Empire’s ranks and earn money to send back home; however, upon seeing the sheer depravity that permeates the capital and the Empire itself, he joins the ranks of Night Raid, hoping to free the people once and for all. Great General Budo – one of The Empire’s most feared and respected generals commanded immense respect. He was trained in combat throughout his entire life as he came from a celebrated family with many well-known generals. His Teigu, Adramelech, allowed Budo to use lightning attacks, but he was also very quick and witty with his use of the weapon. Adramelech’s nature allowed Budo to fly and even summon thunder clouds in addition to the weapon’s natural ability to generate and discharge electricity.
6. Sinbad – Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic

Around the world are several labyrinths hiding incredible treasures within. These labyrinths or “Dungeons” are said to be the handiwork of the Magi, a rare class of magicians who help people build their empires by patching them through to the Djinns, the supernatural beings that rule over the Dungeons. Successful conquerors of the Dungeons gain access to the incredible power of the Djinns, which choose conquerors to become potential rulers of the world. Aladdin is a young mage who spent most of his life isolated, but now he is eager to explore the world, accompanied by his mentor Ugo, the resident Djinn in his flute. After befriending Alibaba Saluja, a few unfortunate incidents cause Aladdin to destroy a merchant’s supply cart. Alibaba suggests that they conquer the nearby Dungeon in order to pay for the damages, a decision which changes their lives forever. Having conquered several Dungeons in his lifetime, the renowned ruler of Sindria, Sinbad, is in possession of a host of different powers bestowed upon him by the Djinns of the Dungeons he conquered. Baal is the Djinn that Sinbad obtained when he conquered his first Dungeon and it is the the Djinn which allows him to use lightning abilities, such as the Bararaq Saiqa, a technique which sees Sinbad drawing lightning from the sky into his sword, where it is then discharged to devastate any enemy in his path. The lightning manipulation that Baal bestows upon Sinbad makes Sinbad one of the strongest characters in the series, and this is before considering Sinbad’s varied talents in combat and strategy. Ruler of the Seven Seas indeed!

He then joins the ranks of the school’s Occult Research Club, learning to fight and survive the violent new world into which he has been thrust, all while keeping it a secret from family and friends. Ten years later, the Holy Knights staged their own revolt and became the new tyrannical leaders of Liones. Elizabeth, the kingdom’s third princess, sets out on her own to find the Seven Deadly Sins and ask for their help in order to take back the kingdom and restore justice to the Kingdom of Liones. Gilthunder is a Holy Knight of incredible power who was close to Elizabeth and Meliodas in his youth, who grew resentful of the Seven Deadly Sins due to the details surrounding their revolt and thus came to hate the very Meliodas he once revered. His magic is lightning based, and immensely powerful, not to mention the fact that Gilthunder is intelligent and adept in combat due to training he received from the leader of the Seven Deadly Sins himself.
2. Boruto – Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

Uzumaki Boruto, the son of Naruto, is a rambunctious child who has been heralded a prodigy and aims to surpass his dad. His desire and his father’s busy schedule has strained their relationship; however, such things take a back seat when a certain evil begins to bubble up within the village… Being the son of both Naruto and Hyuuga Hinata, Boruto boasts incredible potential and is well-versed in several forms of combat and such potential prompted his tutelage under none other than the enigmatic Uchiha Sasuke. He is capable of Lightning Release, an elemental ability allowing its user to generate lightning which can be manipulated for fast movement, piercing damage and can also be used with natural lightning, making it (and Boruto) that much more deadly.
Kaminari Denki – Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia)

Society in this world is different due to the emergence of special abilities in the human race. With 80% of the population exhibiting a unique ability or “Quirk”, the future of humankind is that of a superhuman society, where one of the most admired professions leaves the pages of stories and folklore and appears in reality: the superhero. Midoriya Izuku is one of a few people in society who does not have any kind of ability whatsoever; however, he desperately dreams of becoming a hero like his idol, the top hero, All Might. When it seemed hopeless, Izuku was given a gracious boost to achieve his dreams when All Might reveals to him that his own Quirk is transferable, and that he’s looking at making Izuku his successor! Thus begins Izuku’s journey through the hallways of U.A. High, the most prestigious hero school in the country! Kaminari Denki is one of Izuku’s classmates in class 1-A at U.A. High. His Quirk is “Electrification”, which as the name suggests, is an electric-type Quirk. It allows him to manipulate electricity, although using too much of his Quirk causes him to short-circuit! While Denki’s personality has been shallowly explored in the anime series, from what we have seen, he is quite the show-off who seems somewhat inept at times, but he has a fairly keen mind and abilities that rank him seventh in class 1-A.
Final Thoughts
Lightning users boast access to one of nature’s most destructive forces. The ability to manipulate lightning and electricity has consistently proven to be one of the most powerful elemental abilities and the characters on this list only reiterate that fact. Are there any other cool or powerful lightning users that we have left out? Drop a comment below and tell us about your favourite one!

By striking the drums on his back, which are named after thunder gods from different cultures, it produces lightning abilities for attacking his foes. That's enough power to destroy an entire island, which he does with ease. One Enel's strongest attack so far is El Thor, which can melt an entire rock wall. Crazy!
