The stubborn, ferocious Kyoko made a bang when she was introduced to the series, engaging the newly-transformed Sayaka in a life-or-death duel, coming close to killing the new magical girl. Though she opens up eventually as the series progresses, she remains the most vocal and Machiavellian of all the magical girls in the anime. With a personality as hot as the crimson hair on her head, Kyoko is one red-haired girl that one must never cross!

Lina is yet another fiery redhead from the classic Slayers franchise. A powerful sorceress with a pretty volatile personality, she actually garnered a reputation for being an evil magician who does not hesitate to use powerful spells to harm people. While she does have a tendency to overdo her destructive magic at times (especially when her temper flares up), she is still a good-natured girl at heart. As a redhead who has faced off against hundreds of men, monsters, and even mythical dragons, Lina is one girl that is quite impossible to forget.

Erica is the definitive face of the Paris Kagekidan. An innocent, somewhat clumsy, sweet-natured girl, she is an apprentice nun-in-training and a dancer to boot. She has a good heart, and she constantly strives to achieve the greater good. Her spiritual power took some time to awaken, but when it did, it was powerful enough to make her the captain of the Paris Kegekidan. With a head full of red hair, this good-natured, somewhat innocent girl definitely has a powerful side. I mean, come on, how many apprentice nuns can we see wielding a cross-shaped machine gun named after an archangel?

Despite being the anime’s poster girl and one of the biggest sources of fanservice, the passionate Rias is one of anime’s most notable redheads. Headlining the popular ecchi anime, she is one powerful demoness who hails from an elite demon family. In fact, she is so powerful, she can easily destroy objects both living and inanimate. However, she does have a soft side, showing it mainly to her perverted love, Issei. She may be capable of great destruction with the power that she holds within her, but she is also capable of great passion and love. For that, this red-haired beauty makes our list!

One of the magic knights summoned by Princess Emeraude to the magical land of Cephiro, the red-haired Hikaru is the Knight of Fire. Imbued with flame sorcery and the power to control one of the coolest mechs in anime, Hikaru is not someone you would definitely want to cross. As a girl, however, she is very passionate towards her friends, and she can be fiercely protective when the people she treasures most are put in danger. Though she becomes a bit shaken by the events of the anime’s first season, Hikaru matures and grows significantly during the second arc, becoming a wise young woman who is headstrong, uncompromising, and still irrevocably pure.

Among the girls in this list, Yona is arguably the one that grew and matured the most during the course of her story. Originally introduced as the classic example of the spoiled, kept princess, her world as she knew it came crashing down as her father was brutally assassinated by the man she is set to marry. Wielding a huge sniper rifle with deadly accuracy, the scantily-clad Yoko is arguably the most memorable female character in Gurren Lagann. Though quite young (she was 16 when the series started), she is portrayed nonetheless as a woman who is rational and experienced in battling Gunmen. She eventually falls in love with Kamina, who holds the place as one of the coolest male characters in anime in recent years. Level-headed, deadly, and immensely voluptuous, the alluring Yoko is one of the most notable redheads in anime, and she definitely deserves a spot on this list!

With a last name like Scarlet, Erza’s red-headedness is pretty much a given. Despite this pretty humorous connection however, Erza is one of the most powerful mages in the entire Fairy Tail universe. Heralded as an S-Class mage with powerful requip magic, she is one of the mages in Fairy Tail that that very few are willing to cross. Natsu, already a powerful fire mage, challenges her at times, to very little success. As one of Fairy Tail’s most respected members, she is quite strict, eve showing a tendency to knock people out when they do not provide her with an answer she considers satisfactory. She’s really close to her friends and very loyal to the guild, however, and she will not hesitate to put her life on the line for those she treasures the most.

Among the diclonii featured in the anime, Lucy is the one who is most notable, being considered as the “mother.” She is quite ruthless and somewhat sadistic, as shown when she tortures her victims before she disposes of them. She wields her vectors with deadly accuracy, and she never hesitates to use them when she feels that she is threatened. However, her deadly nature is mostly a result of the way she was treated by society, as shown when she was depicted to have snapped for the first time after a puppy she bonded with was cruelly murdered in front of her eyes. Lucy’s red hair is very symbolic to the amount of blood she shed and has shed during her years on Earth. Deadly, ruthless, and extremely intimidating, Lucy is arguably the most dangerous red-haired girl in this list.

Being the Second Child and the chosen pilot of Evangelion Unit 02, Asuka is the most vocal and most aggressive among the Eva pilots. Though she carries a lot of emotional trauma as a result of her mother committing suicide after experiencing a mental breakdown, Asuka tries her best to keep her fragile emotions in check. In fact, since witnessing her mother’s death, she has promised herself that she will never cry again. In battle, she is the most aggressive fighter among the Eva pilots, showing no fear when battling angels. In the fight with Zeruel, arguably the series’ most formidable enemy, Asuka kept on attacking the nigh-invincible angel until her head was cut clean off. During her final battle with the Eva series, where Unit 02 was mutilated and feasted upon after it lost power, Asuka never stopped fighting, to the point where Eva 02 reached a true berserker state. Dog Days takes place in the fantasy world of Flonyado, where the Republic of Biscotti is forced to summon forth heroes from Earth to aid them, as they face an invasion by the Galette Leo Knights. Leonmitchelli, or Leonmitchelli Galette des Rois to use her full name, starts off as the main antagonist in the series. As both the Princess of Galette and leader of their army, she possesses a strategic mind and incredible fighting prowess. Wielding an array of weapons, such as her giant battleaxe, she is also able to perform Emblem Arts – powerful magic-like abilities. Often speaking like a man and being possibly the loudest character in the series, Leo isn’t exactly a mysterious white haired beauty. But with her calm composure and quick mind, she’s got cool down to a tee. Along with that, it tells us of the surprising innocence she seems to be hiding behind that ferocious mouth of hers.

High School DxD’s plot centers on the Occult Research Club at Kuoh Academy, which despite appearances, is in fact a group of devils under the leadership of Rias Gremory. Despite how it sounds, these devils aren’t bent on destroying the world, and instead spend most of their time doing favors for the locals. Koneko, a white haired cat youkai, is one of Rias’ servants at the club and the Rook of their ‘family’. Koneko is one of the quietest members of High School DxD’s cast, spending a majority of the early episodes berating resident pervert protagonist Issei, for his ecchi advances. Always cool and calm, with a past veiled in mystery, Koneko is a perfect example of what to expect from a white haired bishoujo.

They come in all shapes and sizes at the Mages guild Fairy Tail, and Mirajane is no exception. As head waitress at the guild’s bar, besides serving beer and helping the newbies, little is said about Mirajane’s story, or why exactly she holds so much authority within the guild. But when trouble comes knocking, Mirajane goes from fan service sub character to antagonist-crushing bad ass in no time, and the shroud of mystery surrounding her slowly lifts. Rarely without a smile on her face, Mirajane is one of the most lighthearted characters on this list, which really helps her keep her composure when dealing with the mages that have had a few too many.

In the world of Prester, flight is everything, from warships, to the vanships the inhabitants use as their main means of transportation. As constant conflict between Prester’s two nations of Anatoray and Disith continues, the Guild, a powerful neutral party, carefully pulls the strings in the background, asserting dominance over all. Head of the guild, Delphine Eraclea possesses a truly cruel personality, reveling in the hardships of those below her and very much earning her title as the series antagonist. Delphine’s white hair demonstrates the coldness and ruthlessness of her character. Similar to many other characters on this list, it also suggests the innocence that is expected of a neutral party such as the Guild, however in this case the purity is only part of the mask she wears.

Madoka Magica really makes you think twice about whether or not being a magical girl is a great idea. After being granted a single wish and forming a contract with Kyubey, a beady eyed who-knows-what, the girls from Madoka are tasked with finding and destroying Witches – beings born of negative emotions. Not making her appearance until the final film in the series, Nagisa Momoe had a lot to live up to being part of such a popular series. Madoka Magica is tough enough to understand as it is, and Nagisa does not exactly help the situation by being one of the most unusual characters yet. Is she a witch, or a magical girl, or both? Nagisa’s white hair is representative of the mystery that surrounds her character throughout, and of the innocence of a young girl living in a world filled with hardships.

The Monogatari series centers on Koyomi Araragi, a part vampire who can’t help but go around saving girls from oddities, curses which are trapped inside them. Meganekko and seemingly perfect student Tsubasa Hanekawa makes her first appearance in the Bakemonogatari chapter of the series. But it isn’t until Nekomonogatari that we really get to hear the full story behind her and her oddity problems. Each evening, without her knowledge, Hanekawa transforms into a seductive, white haired cat youkai, who proceeds to wreak havoc around town. Although only her youkai half, “Black Hanekawa”, has white hair, she is very much her own character and plays a vital role in the Monogatari series. With her entire purpose being shrouded in mystery and enough power to take on a full blooded vampire, Black Hanekawa has very much earned her glowing white locks. Her cute speech pattern is pretty nya-ice as well.

After the war ended, Toru Acura had trouble finding meaning in his life. Being a retired soldier, it didn’t seem like there was much left for him in the new world. Enter Chaika, teenage sorceress-cum-sniper, who hauls around a coffin containing her Gandr, an enormous sniper rifle used for spell casting. Along with Toru’s adopted sister, Toru decides to follow Chaika in hopes of once again finding some meaning in his life. Chaika has a child-like innocence to her character, helped by her inability to form complete sentences, which paints her very much as the fresh start Toru needs. As expected from a white haired girl she also boasts specialized knowledge and remarkable prowess with magic, using her rifle-type Gandr.

You know when there’s not quite enough chairs for everyone, and you look at each other like “Err what now?” Well that’s Rokka no Yuusha in a nutshell. It is said that when the Demon God reawakens, six heroes will be chosen to defend the land, and seal him once again. So as you can imagine, when seven heroes show up, it causes some problems. Fremy, the Saint of Gunpowder, is one of the group of seven, and isn’t particularly happy about the unexpected turnout. Although seemingly cold and void of emotion, much like with any kuudere-type character, watching Fremy’s emotions show through the cracks is heartwarming and guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. Additionally Fremy’s sniper skills are not to be underestimated, and with a stunning, avant-garde character design to boot, she’s well worth giving a watch.

Deadman Wonderland, a horrific prison theme park where inmates are forced to fight each other for the public’s amusement. After being framed for slaughtering his classmates, Ganta finds himself fighting for his life, with little hope of ever escaping his miserable fate. Luckily, coming to his aid is the mysterious albino girl Shiro, who is determined to make sure that Ganta doesn’t get bumped off, and maybe discover who got him thrown into Deadman Wonderland in the first place. Shiro’s innocent and unknowing character is a perfect contrast to the madness that is Deadman Wonderland. Not just her hair, but her full white outfit lends itself to the sense of purity that surrounds the character. But as with all our white haired girls, Shiro isn’t quite the weak, frail girl she seems, which becomes all the more evident as her dark side comes to light.

Middle schooler Jun Sakurada finds a letter in his desk drawer with a single question written on it: “Will you wind?” Answering “Yes”, Jun receives the bossy and sometimes childish doll Shinku, the fifth of seven Rozen maiden dolls. As the last doll to awaken, Shinku’s appearance marks the start of the Alice Game: a battle between the Rozen Maiden to find “Alice”, the perfect girl. Suigintou, the first of the Rozen Maiden dolls, and Shinku’s main rival to the title of “Alice”, has no qualms removing her sisters in pursuit of that goal. Okay, so her hair is described as silver white, but I’m going to let this one slide. Suigintou is likely the most recognizable character on this list, with her white hair and black gothic Lolita style clothes being the inspiration for a mountain of fan art, going back to the anime’s release. Her hair portrays an innocence which isn’t immediately obvious until more of Suigintou’s story is revealed, but also speaks of the coldness of her character, in both her actions and her words. It’s this contrast that makes her character so fascinating to watch, as it turns into a guessing game thinking of what she plans to do next.

The main character of the Nadeko Snake arc of Bakemonogatari, Nadeko is scared of showing her emotions openly. She has a crush on the show’s main lead, Araragi, and enlists his help to rid herself of a curse. Though easily amused, she prefers to keep her calm and hide her emotions behind her bangs that cover her eyes. Nadeko’s innocence often means she gets easily flustered, especially whenever Araragi is concerned. Though she becomes slightly more upfront as the story progresses, she retains her habit of easily getting flustered, which is always endearingly adorable. With her incredibly adorable voice and timid nature, we rate her 10 on the list.

One of the part-timers at the family restaurant Wagnaria, Inami is a timid high school student. She’s best friends with fellow co-worker Taneshima, who’s above-average chest size tends to make Inami question her own underdeveloped one. Inami’s shyness comes mainly from her extreme fear of men. Her fear is so strong that she tends to be highly trigger-happy around them, often punching males that come close to her with extreme strength. But all you masochists, don’t get your hopes up. She’s actually quite the pure maiden. This redeeming quality of hers often causes her to get extremely flustered over even small encounters with the main male character, Takanashi. The transition from shy-and-soft-spoken Inami to “I’LL PUNCH YOU TILL YOU FAINT” Inami often provides much of the show’s slapstick humour. Because I’m not a masochist and that strength is slightly scary, we rate her at 9.

Hailing from Akita, Nana is the close friend of the female protagonist, Umaru. She becomes very timid with Umaru's brother and is always getting flustered around him. She tends to slip into using her accent whenever nervous, and the contrast between that and her timid nature is oddly adorable! One of the most lovable characters in the show, you could say she’s more popular than Umaru! With that personality, what’s not to like about her? We happily rank her at 8!

As one of the main characters of Nisekoi, she undoubtedly has a crush on Raku Ichijou, the male protagonist, and is also the only girl that Ichijou openly has feelings for (as expected of a harem anime). Unlike most dandere, whose sweetness is limited to their lovers, Onodera cozies up to many people. However, she still focuses on Ichijou, even taking care of him when he is wounded or ill. But this kindness also means that she often holds back her feelings out of consideration for others. If we had a kindness meter I’d bet she’d be near the top! Her timid nature and unquestionable waifu status places her at 7.

One of the smartest girls in the school and the country, Kotomi is an introverted lover of books. She always goes to the library to study extra materials, especially books in foreign dialects. Very timid and silent, she is initially shown to be hard to interact with. As she starts to hang out with the protagonist, her cold shell melts, revealing a helpless girl with a tragic past who’s actually just scared of being hurt again. Lovable and and strong with a heart-wrenching past, Kotomi takes rank 6!

One of the main characters of the show and a key member of μ's, Maki is 15 years old and a first year at Otonokizaka High School. Despite looking very mature for her age, she is still very pure and somewhat childish. In fact, she still believes in Santa Claus! A stubborn, guarded girl who has a hard time admitting her true feelings to her peers, she is part tsundere and part dandere, but still 100% adorable! Though she matures slightly as the show progresses, her child-like innocence and problems admitting her feelings remain, which is great news for us! Cute, pretty, and very smart, Maki earns a ranking of 5.

She is one of the main heroines who hails from a small port town in Japan. Sensitive and quick to panic, Megumi is a clumsy and shy student who will always try to do her best. She tends to sabotage herself, usually in a really adorable fashion, whenever distressed. Despite her weakness, Megumi is an honest student who does not lie about anything. She has a strong sense of determination, and as the story progresses, she starts coming out of her shell. But thankfully, she still remains shy and awkwardly sweet. YAY! Another character made of incredible waifu material, Megumi ranks at 4

As a princess, Julis prides herself in being elegant, righteous, and beautiful. But in actual fact, she’s hot-headed, stubborn, and extremely cold to those she is unfamiliar with. But as the story unfolds, we soon learn that she is an incredibly innocent girl, who’s uncertain about expressing herself. Part tsundere, part dandere, she’s easily flustered, especially when put into “ecchi” situations (which actually happens quite often). As a princess who likes the simple things in life like fast food, the contrast from her usual hot-headedness and meekness makes her peculiarly lovable. We crown this princess with a 3 on the list!

With the lovable girls of the light music club, K-ON! is a cult favourite! And we all know Mio as our beloved awkward blob of cuteness. Though seemingly mature and strict (especially when Ritsu is involved), she’s a scaredy-cat is who’s often helplessly and adorably incapacitated with fear when stories involving the macabre and horrific come up. A delicate and innocent beauty, she’s afraid of attention and becomes overly flustered whenever she’s under the spotlight. Just imagining herself in such situations turns her into a klutz. While mostly charming and heartwarming, the change in character is also very entertaining to watch. A potent mixture of cuteness and grace, we place her at No. 2 on this list!

Our main character, Naru, has no idea what she wants in life. She encounters Hana at the very beginning of the show, and the eccentric foreign transfer student with an odd love for yosakoi dance soon enlists her help in establishing a yosakoi club in the school. Naru is very much an introvert and blushes almost all the time, which is really cute! She is very easily disoriented, and that clumsy nature provides most of the show’s slapstick humour, which adds on to her charm! Initially resistant to change, Naru soon pushes through her own stubborn ways in order to experience her greatest dream, which is to achieve something "above the normal". Though clumsy, shy, and silly at times, her never-give-up attitude and the ability to power through challenges easily places her at No. 1 on this list!

A girl with almost no background history, Yoko first appeared at Jeeha Village and helped Kamina and Simon beat a stray gunmen. Over the course of the series, Yoko is a core member of Team Gurren who provides long-range support and is Kamina’s first love interest. She is skilled with her rifle and can pilot a gunmen. Yoko has very long red hair, amber eyes, large breasts despite her young age, usually wears scarf, a two-piece consisting of a flame-patterned bikini top and leather shorts with a large white studded belt.

Rangiku is one of the few people that can get your attention in a society filled with people wearing funeral garbs daily. Seriously, these people doesn’t understand fashion. It’s a Soul-less Society, if you ask me. *ahem* Rangiku is an easygoing girl who loves to drink and oftentimes slacks off to avoid tedious paperwork. Despite her gift of having large breasts and not being the most modest person around, she complains about them to everyone, often with embarrassing results. While she’s probably not the most charming girl out there and has a tendency to slack off, she is a formidable fighter and strategist. She’s not the 10th Division’s lieutenant and Hitsugaya Toushiro’s right hand for nothing.

Young, beautiful, and mature, Wakasa Yuuri is one of the survivors and president of the School Living Club. She manages everything from rationing food, water, power, staging some club activities and give out lessons. She is also the group’s mother figure providing moral and mental support. Yuuri has long brown hair reaching her waist, amber-brown-ish eyes and a beauty mark under her left eye. She rarely shows off her figure and the only time you’ll see her with less clothes is in episode 8.

Shibuki Ran is one of the three main characters in Aikatsu! She is a sexy-type idol and supermodel and she wears evocative dresses prepared by her designer at Spicy Ageha with butterflies as a main motif. She has long legs, long auburn hair that extends to her knees, and amethyst-coloured eyes. She has a no-nonsense attitude, is independent and a professional model. In the first few episodes she was very distant, almost lone wolf-like, and treated everyone as a potential rival at Starlight Academy. Her beauty and her professional attitude earned her the nickname “The Beautiful Blade.”

Brooding, serious, and determined, Fate is a scythe-wielding mage that was tasked with searching for Jewel Seeds and is the archrival of Takamachi Nanoha. Like every character in the series that took design cues from the Gundam franchise, Fate is the Char Aznable, the blonde archrival of Nanoha and her black barrier jacket and choice of weapon closely resembles Gundam Deathscythe of Gundam Wing.

Beautiful, smart, athletic, and rich, Sena is one of the most popular girls at school. The guys ogle her, and she is envied by her female peers. Due to her immense popularity among the guys and good looks, she has no female friends. Despite having everything a girl could want, all she wants is to have true friends, and so she joins the Neighbor’s Club. Sena is well-endowed, with long blonde hair, a blue butterfly hair accessory, and light-blue eyes. Her build is rather plump and with her large pair of breasts, she is often mocked by club member Mikazuki Yozora who calls her “Meat.”

Shinka is currently her school’s freshman year representative, as well as a cheerleader and is one of the school’s beauty queens. Due to her sweet and charming personality, talents and natural attractiveness, she is admired by everyone of both genders. Behind that charming personality, however, hides a dark secret from her middle school days — she’s a chuunibyou, or a youth with middle school syndrome. Shinka is a very attractive girl of an average build, with long light brown hair, a big pink hairclip on her bangs and orange eyes. While she’s a very popular girl, she is more concerned about hiding her chuunibyou sickness and keeping her public image as that of a normal girl more than anything.

Sakura is this obsessive girl who has the hots for female Senou Natsuru, and will go to great lengths just to get from first base to home plate, while completely having zero interest in male Senou Natsuru. Little does Natsuru and the rest of the Kampfer know that Sakura is more than what meets the eye. Sakura has long light brown hair with light blue eyes, an average build and cup size. Despite her happy and friendly demeanor, she is a proficient fighter and dual wields a sword and gun ash her arsenal of choice.

One of the very few survivors of Fujimi High School, Saeko is a third year student and the captain of the school’s kendo club. She teams up with a small band of survivors led by Komuro Takeshi as they struggle to survive in the zombie apocalypse. Saeko is a strong melee combatant, proficient with a blade due to her kendo experience, and is one of the most skilled and reliable fighters in the group. Saeko has long purple hair, purple (sometimes blue) eyes, very long limbs and is well-endowed (fans sometimes call her breasts “torpedo t**s”). Even though she has the qualities of a no nonsense individual trained to use blades, she is in fact a kind, caring, and reliable person.

Cthuko is a female Cthughan from the alien world Cthugua (imagine the name confusion) who takes the form of a soft-spoken teenage girl. Her main hobby is playing video games and her main love interest is Nyaruko, an alien of a different species. She mainly provides perverted comedic relief with Nyaruko involved. Despite her perverted and gamer-centric nature, she is a capable fighter and uses the power of fire. That alone makes Cthuko hot! Her true form is unknown, but she always takes the form of a slender human girl. She has long red twin tails, with red eyes. She’s sometimes seen with no clothes and her body is covered with flame-like marks.

Oh, it hurts me to put such a great character in the 10th position. Miyuki is well designed, and has great charisma. She’s a well balanced character, beautiful, and even part of the main cast! But sadly... in a really, really bad anime. Sorry fans. A quick review: Basquash! is an anime about robots playing basketball, no joke, really. It’s as thought out as that sounds. It has lots of black people who’re fans of basketball living in some sort of ghetto from the future. Worn-down graffiti-filled basketball courts, people talking in strange accents, police chases and the ending song... oh... the ending song had to be a terrible wanna-be of Beyoncé’s first albums. I don't know if they studied Afro-American culture to the point of wanting to capture it all at once or if it was a plain insult. Whatever the reason, I felt a little dagger in my heart seeing Miyuki be part of this, and honestly, I dropped this anime after the first 5 episodes and skipped to the end. But let’s focus on the character. Out of all the dark skinned characters in Basquash! I think Miyuki stands out the most because she’s literally, really black. No blue eyes, no cute fluffy attitude. She’s even matched with purple, pink and white! The colors that most matches dark skinned girls; I think the character designer really studied well to create her. She knows all about Bigfoots (the robots), fixes and modifies them. She’s a teaser; with double meaning conversations from the start, not only spicing up the basketball games but her advances on the main character too. In the end, she has very honest feelings towards Dan and she’s been keeping them to herself since her early puppy love days with him. In my opinion, this anime wouldn't have advanced if not for her.

So before you guys kill me for choosing her over Kuu Fei, let’s get something straight. Fei is Chinese, get over it. The real and accurate dark skinned one here is Mana because she’s half Puerto Rican! Ehm, no, this has nothing to do with me being linked to this in any way. Okay. She’s not so popular but she does hit the target; those who’ve met caribbean dark skinned people can agree. I mean, exorcist plus guns and lots of cash involved? You can't get more latina than that, haha. Her attitude can be cold and scary, but that’s accurate too. I read somewhere that she made a comeback in a manga called UQ Holder! and in some fan fiction called Kuro Arashi, but since I’ve never read those, I won't even go near that! I hope she’s doing good! As for the anime, she plays a supporting role in all of the Negima! metaseries. Negima! is about a 10-year-old boy who is a wizard and as his final test to obtain master wizardry status is to become an English teacher at an all-girls high school. Of course, these girls will make his life impossible. Why does this anime fall under Ecchi, Romance and Harem? Why does Maya always carry weapons? Guess you’ll have to see it now, huh?

Main character in Abenobashi, Arumi is Sasshi’s best friend. She is the daughter of the owners of a restaurant called Grill Pelican. The story starts to shape up with the news that the family restaurant is leaving Osaka’s Abenobashi shopping district for Hokkaido. Due to an accident with a sacred statue that had some sort of influence on the balance of reality in Abenobashi, Arumi and Sasshi are transported through different worlds. The strange thing about these worlds is that they look like something out of Sasshi’s otaku imagination! Arumi captures your heart from the start with her strange accent and her simple-but-cute ways. She’s always saying that having your health is the most important thing for people. She doesn't mind spending the day with Sasshi even though he’s a lazy otaku. She does seem to mind when he goes peep-perv with women and she hits him with the closest thing to her. Even if she looks so serene and calm, Arumi’s reactions are as funny as Sasshi’s.

One of the many girls living in the Hinata house. She comes from the Kingdom of Molmol and she has a special power known only to her people of becoming an adult for one night a year. Her appearance changes and her attitude as well; but we all love the hyper cuddle monster better anyway. This eighth-grader is wild, hungry and always seems to have something up her sleeve. She almost only wears her school uniform barefoot (unless she transforms). In the anime, she’s Shinobu’s friend and classmate. She serves mostly as a comedy relief but we’re always uneasy when it comes to her background story. She always makes it so obvious that she’s not Japanese; where on Earth is her country? Why can she transform? And why does a 13-year-old ask a grown man to kiss her? Her room is a jungle? What the hell could this girl be hiding? Watch this crazy girl in Love Hina and find out!

If you have seen Fullmetal Alchemist, you know who this girl is. Rosé is the girl the Elric brothers meet in one of their first missions in the city of Lior. She seems a very religious well-mannered girl that is madly in love with her boyfriend. Well, it gets freakier than that. To put it better, she is blindly following Cornello’s teachings because she was promised she could bring her dead boyfriend back. She sort of tried to kill herself but Al saved her. Seems like a round ending for this character... or so we’d wish. Oh Rose, the things you’ve done girl! If you want to find out what happens to her, you’d need to see FMA and Brotherhood. I promise you, her story will leave a little scar on your heart. In the second version of FMA, Rosé’s skin color is sort of white, what’s up with that? We all know she looks way better as a dark skinned gal! I don’t know if you’ve noticed the pattern between white clothes and tanned skin? Rosé’s clothes are of course, white and pink most of the time. Better go ahead and buy those purple shaded contact lenses, Rosé is our third character on the list with purple coloured eyes.

No other character describes ditzy like Mihoshi. This sexy galaxy police girl is a main character in all Tenchi Muyo! series. Going from the top ranks to an almost isolation state in the police, she is sent to do easier jobs as a demoted officer as punishment because of all her mess-ups. She still messes up her job and ends up being saved by Tenchi, then, by impulse she moves in with him. Her simple-mindedness causes causality to go on her favor which comes in really handy later in the series. This character is full of contradictions, she’s lazy and loves to sleep but she does the best house work and remarkable detailed field reports. She’s a klutz but also possesses the power to defeat the mighty Washu? What on earth is happening with this girl? ‘Ya better watch all the Tenchi Muyo! metaseries; her story changes or gets revealed little by little in all of them.

Another barefoot tropical girl. Choi is polite and kinds towards others but when it comes to Dera, she is rigid and bossy. She’s mad because Dera is fat and that comes in the way of her fortune telling. She’s a fortune teller that uses royal birds for her work; she plays a bird shaped flute and the bird is supposed to inspire or ‘tell her’ the fortune’s target, even if Dera is too fat for the job, her predictions are accurate. She comes to Japan in search of a bride for the prince of her land but secretly, she loves the prince. She’s so freaking moe and adorable! In her first appearance, for some reason we can see her exposed buns but who cares? Most of the time she’s wearing white clothes too! Though, that school uniform makes her look more obviously foreign than anything. Choi makes a comeback in the film Minami no Shima dera-chan where we can see how her daily life is with the Prince.

The eldest sister of the goddesses, well, half-sis. That would explain her skin color. She’s a mix of angel and demon, black and white… well you get it. Her devil side is more prominent, most times appearing more naughty and bad tempered than her heavenly sisters. In the anime she came down from heaven to break up the relationship of Belldandy and Keiichi but because of some troubles she ends up stuck on earth and flirting with they guy. She would never go too far with that flirting tease, because she loves her sisters more than anything and has a special connection with Belldandy. She looks more like a sex god than a holy one, and she knows this all too well with the way that she dresses and the things she suggests. And let's admit it, her skin color also plays a good part of that sexiness. In her demon form, Urd’s dress is as sexy as her regular form but I prefer her with the hair down and dark purple dress. The beauty of a goddess with a dash of demon attitude, yes please.

The tanned girl “Nikumi” really worked her way up in our top 10 list. At first I thought she was “that” character that would only show cleavage shots or that Erina follower we’d grow to hate. Due to her stubbornness, it took me by surprise that she turned into Souma’s friend and a sweet Tsundere so fast into the series. What I most like about her is that she’s American and black! And also, blonde and green-eyed but with a tropical touch. It’s like they took both sides of U.S. citizens and mixed it into an accurate character. I loved how she was named Mito, besides the “meat” part I wonder if her color has something to do with meat as well; like fried chicken or something. That or they just wanted to go with the fake tan thing. In my opinion she’s the female character that stands out the most in this anime. Besides her flashy clothes she really has a character going on. Talented, confident, competitive, cute and sexy... she’s too good to end up with Souma, someone please find her a real man!

From Unova region’s Dragon Village comes our first in the list, Iris. Her name is based on a flower native to Africa and North America, so she was bound to be dark skinned. She may not be sexy or as cute as the others but she is one of the best Pokemon characters so far. Besides having more screen time than the rest of the girls on the list, she is also a very popular girl among Pokemon fans, second only to Misty. She loves dragons and is already strong enough to become a gym leader despite her young age. She’s a gym leader in the Pokemon Black and White games and one of the best trainers of Unova tournaments. Her goals are set and reached, unlike the childlike Ash (Satoshi). Besides dragons, she likes berries and the wilderness (ugh, another “wild” girl) and dislikes Ice Pokemon just like dragon types do. For her attire, she has all the colors of the previous characters: white, pink, purple and yellow, but keeping her eyes brown; at least that part is realistic. Her trademark is hiding Pokemon in her hair and is the only person known to do so. In the series, she changes clothes many times, the best ones being her school uniform, shrine maiden outfit, or her green dress (the latest being a possible reference to the dark skinned Disney princess Tiana, who also wears a dress of similar colors and tiara). In Pokemon BW 2 she becomes the Pokemon League Champion. She looks older and her main clothes change to a pink shaded gown, which looks epic.

Let’s start this list off with a character from one of my all-time favorite shows, Angel Beats!. I am speaking about no one less than Yui, the aspiring member of the band Girls Dead Monster. It is hard to find the girl with long pink ponytails in a bad mood. Yui is known to be hyperactive, always talking fast and jumping around. Everything excites her and she wants to help and be involved anywhere she can. On top of simply assisting the girl band Girls Dead Monster she also wants to be an active member and contribute to their songs and live performances. Even though Yui’s personality might get annoying at times, she is still just a girl with a good heart. She respects and looks up to the people around her and never tries to harm anyone. Yui comes from a tough background and being able to leave her past behind makes her a truly special character.

Next up is a girl from one of the most recent anime seasons, Yuki from Gakkou Gurashi!. Even though Yuki is already a senior in high school, she acts and looks more like an elementary school student. She loves everything small and cute and even wears a hat with cat ears and animal hair clips attached to it. Her personality could be described as overly optimistic since she never sees anything bad in the world and only wants to have fun together with her friends that she deeply cares about. Yuki is the stereotypical girl with pink hair. She is innocent, clumsy and could never hurt anyone even if she tried to. Much to the despair of her friends she is carefree and often relies on their help when situations get hard. Nevertheless, Yuki is a sweet girl that you just cannot dislike. A suitable choice for this list!

You might have forgotten about her, but Nurse Joy is probably the first pink-haired girl many of you have encountered in anime. Do I even need to explain to you who she is? As the local nurse of every town, Joy is the one responsible for taking care of your injured Pokemon. She is caring and kind and will always welcome you with a smile. There is no better person to entrust your Pokemon with and it is no wonder that Brock falls in love with her over and over again. Nurse Joy shows the caring and helpful side of pink-haired anime girls. Unlike some other characters on this list, however, she is independent and can take care of herself. Every patient is treated with endless patience and love. Who wouldn’t mind having her as a nurse?

Up to this point our pink-haired girls have been rather quiet and caring, but now it is time to introduce a completely new personality with Saya Takagi from Highschool of the Dead. Don’t be conceived by Saya’s childish ponytails, because this girl gets the job done. Coming from a wealthy and well-known background, Saya already has the air of a born leader. She is a genius that contributes to the storyline of Highschool of the Dead by thinking strategically and logically. As the mastermind she likes to stay in the background, but that does not mean that Saya does not get what she wants. Saya is a fascinating character that hides a soft side underneath her tough outer shell. It is true that she is able to command the other characters around, but at times she can be self-conscious and lost. It is hard not to feel for her and she definitely deserves a spot on this list.

Fans of Shoujo or Magical Girl anime should already be familiar with the next girl on our list. If not, allow me to introduce you to Madoka Kaname from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. When it comes to anime girls that are caring, Madoka just needs to be mentioned. There is nothing that she loves more than being there for her friends and family. Her own needs are never her top priority and she will put everyone else before herself. Madoka is a thoughtful girl with gentle nature that thinks before she acts or speaks. Madoka is one of those characters that might annoy you at the beginning of the show, but will soon grow close to you. Her timid personality seems boring at first, but it is exactly the traits mentioned above that bring this anime to a beautiful and heartwarming ending. Madoka Kaname is the sixth girl on our Top 10 list.

Let’s move on to a beautiful yet deadly, intelligent yet impulsive pink-haired girl: Jibril from hit anime No Game No Life. It first needs to be said that Jibril is actually a more than thousand years old mythical creature belonging to the Flügel race. Her purpose and aim in life is to gain as much knowledge as possible, stored in the form of books at her library. At first, Jibril seems to be very polite, but it soon turns out that she is condescending towards other races and does not seem to have high morals when it comes to solving problems by killing other people. Jibril is the most mysterious girl of this list that hides a sadistic personality behind a calm face. Yet, she is not a bad person and turns out helping Shiro and Sora on their journey. When it comes to getting new knowledge she also shows an overly enthusiastic side that makes her irresistible.

You thought all pink-haired girls are innocent and harmless? Lucy from Elfen Lied is here to prove you wrong. Just like Jibril before, Lucy actually isn’t human. She is part of a new species known as Diclonius and as such possesses supernatural abilities. Lucy’s real nature is far off from what her looks might suggest - she has been tormented throughout her life and also developed a sadistic nature herself. In the blink of an eye she can kill all humans around her without feeling any regret or sympathy. Fans of the series will know that Lucy has a bipolar character and can also show another side. As Nyu she incorporates everything that pink hair stands for: innocence, purity and kindness. Lucy is a character that you will either love or hate and with her diverse personality she made it into the Top 5 of this list.

No one expected me to write this list without including all-time favorite pink-haired girl Inori Yuzuriha from Guilty Crown, right? Inori Yuzuriha’s personality is mostly a mystery at the beginning of Guilty Crown. The beautiful girl is quiet and does not show any emotions whatsoever. Only slowly, as the story progresses, does she warm up and start exploring her own feelings. Despite her quiet nature, she actually cares about people that have earned her trust and will care for them the best way she can. Seeing a darker and more monstrous side to this sweet and quiet girl is one of the many things that made Guilty Crown so popular. Not only is a fight between two opponents the main part of this story, but there is another war going on inside of Inori’s mind. She has captured the hearts of many viewers and definitely deserves a spot on this list.

When it comes to girls with pink hair, there is just one name that needs to be mentioned: Sakura Haruno from Naruto. Sakura has many faces; she can be full of joy like an innocent child, deep in thoughts or filled with determination. Overall, she is sensitive and understands well what is going on inside her and the people around her. Even though she fights hard to survive for herself, she still finds the energy to also care about her friends. Despite not being the strongest ninja, especially compared to her teammates Naruto and Sasuke, Sakura has found her own path in life and managed to succeed at it. She realized her strengths and weaknesses and used them to her advantage. It is true that she can become annoying at times, but all in all her motivation needs to be acknowledged and she can be a role model to many of us.

Our top choice is at the same time our ultimate proof that pink-haired girls are not always innocent and soft-spoken. Get ready to meet Yuno Gasai, the anime version of an overly attached girlfriend. The only thing innocent about this girl is her appearance, with her big smile and the pink ponytails. There seems to be only one thought on her mind, namely Yuki and her love for him. Everything that stands between the two will be eliminated without a second thought. Yuno can be feminine and sweet when she wants to, but deep down she is a ruthless killer without morality. Yuno Gasai is an amazing character that will shock you throughout the show. Her personality develops in a completely different direction than viewers might have expected and in doing so adds more suspense to the whole anime. With her cold-blooded, bipolar nature we just had to give her the first spot on our list.

Kagero is a ninja woman with the rarest skill. She’s the food taster for her clan’s master. As such, she has developed immunity to all kinds of poison. In fact, Kagero has assimilated so many toxins throughout the years that her own body is now poisonous itself. Poison is, as you may know, regarded as the weapon of choice of cowards; so she’s not very much respected in her clan. Of course, the fact that she’s a woman doesn’t help her much either. She’s a determined warrior however, always willing to prove her worth.

The Lavender Princess is one of the sweetest ninja girls on our list. She’s extremely kind, peaceful and merciful, as she refuses to kill her enemies. As the leader of the Iga clan, Oboro is highly respected but also loathed in secrecy for her apparent weakness. She is not a prodigy in the ninja martial arts but she does have a lethal special ability. Her eye-technique can deprive any ninja of their powers when they look at her directly. But she can do more than just neutralize her enemies. If she is angry enough, her eye-technique is capable of doing serious harm. So if you ever run into her, just try to avoid her gaze.

This cute little ninja girl is Yoshiharu’s adventure partner and the leader of the Kawanami group of thieves. Goemon is a skilled ninja and a strong leader, staying calm and confident even in the most dangerous situations. She’s also selfless and heroic enough to take a bullet for her friends. Just don’t thank her with a hug; that will really upset her. Probably, her most salient feature is her inability to speak fluently. She often bites her tongue or stutters while uttering long sentences. This makes her rather awkward but also kind of cute.

Sarutobi is an assassin trained in the ninja arts. She’s a deadly beauty with glasses, as she is severely myopic, often confusing people with inanimate objects. She is head over heels for Gintoki, so much that she even stalks him from time to time. As an assassin, Sarutobi is extremely deadly and skilled in the use of the kunais, being able to hit her target every time despite her terrible eye-sight. This ninja girl is a bit bipolar, since she behaves like a little girl around Gintoki but she’s a devil when she enters her killer-mode.

The weasel girl, Misao Makimachi, is a hot-headed warrior trained as an Onmitsu. She’s obsessed with finding her missing hero Aoshi Shinomori. She joins Himura (against his will at first) thinking he will eventually lead her to Aoshi. However, her hard training made her quite skilled in combat and she proves to be a powerful ally to Himura. She is a bit careless though, often putting herself in a dangerous position just for trying to show off her ninja skills.

What could possibly be simultaneously hotter and more lethal than a ninja girl? You got it! A vampire ninja girl! Seraphim is a lovely hot-tempered warrior serving Ayumu Aikawa. She’s quite rude and definitely not to be messed with, since she has a nice set of deadly skills. Seraphim is proficient in the art of Ninjutsu and in the Tsubamegaeshi Sword Style, which she regards as a superior form of combat. She has also many other abilities like teleportation and flying.

Lan Fan is Ling Yao’s personal bodyguard. Together with her grandfather, Fu, she aids Ling Yao in his quest for immortality and the title of Emperor of Xing. She is almost as skilled as her grandfather in ninja martial arts, just a little more reckless, which is only natural due to their age difference. However, she can be very unpredictable to her enemies as well as cunning and determined. This can be seen when she helps her master get out of King Bradley’s grasp at the expense of her left arm. Prince Ling would have never made it if she hadn’t lent him a hand (too obvious?).

As a self-proclaimed ninja, Shiina is a strange character with a mysterious past. She loves to hide in shadows and dark corners as the good that ninja she is. Shiina is constantly seen training. She has her mind set on improving her skills at all times, so we often get to see her balancing objects on her fingertips. Despite being utterly serious and uptight, she has a girly side. She is crazy about stuffed animals. This soft side often gets her into trouble, but her concentration is so strong that she can sense oncoming danger most of the times.

The Camellia Blossom, Tsubaki, is a Demon Shadow Weapon from the special weapon clan, the Nakatsukasa. She has the rare and special ability to transform into multiple ninja weapons such as the smoke bomb, the shuriken, the chain scythe and the uncanny sword. Tsubaki is very mature and peaceful, often acting as a mediator between her friends every time they get into an argument. She acts like an older sister to her friends in several occasions. She is undeniably adorable and charming since she always tries to see the good in everyone and everything. Her cuteness and unique abilities earn her the #2 spot in our list.

Out of the endless number of ninja girls in the series, Hinata is (to me at least) the most interesting one. I truly think Naruto chose his wife wisely. She is absolutely lovely and caring, and despite her apparent weakness she can be the most determined ninja girl out there, especially when it comes to becoming a suitable match for her beloved Naruto. Hinata hates fighting and hurting other people, which is mostly why she was deemed as an unworthy heir to the Hyuuga clan as a child. However, she proved to be a late bloomer, as she became really powerful and skilled with the passing of years and thanks to Naruto’s influence. I find Hinata totally adorable for being the serene and gentle ninja girl which you don’t want to mess with.

Akane is an inspector with the Public Safety Bureau. Originally a greenhorn on the field, the pressures of policing awakened the seriousness in her and she soon transforms into a cool beauty on the dangerous streets. Leading a team of latent criminals, Akane is quick to grasp the gravity of her actions in the dark world of criminal activities. Still pure at heart and wanting the best for everybody, Akane will have to balance her own principles as well as carry out her duty effectively. Her short hair keeps her looking sharp on the field and that also allows her to maintain her aura of being perceptive, analytical and overall just being a badass therefore placing her at number 10 on the list.

Riko is the analyser of Seirin High, a high school basketball team. Armed with both charm and wits, she can amaze anybody with her strategic thinking and allure. Seirin High is a basketball group consisting of players that are unheard of in the high school league. While of course being talented, the analytical capabilities of Riko are not forgotten as she always leads her team to victory by strategically placing the players at the position they play best. It is the natural talents of the individual players combined with the foresight of Rika that made Seirin High a rising force in the basketball league. Ranked at No. 9, she is a fan favourite despite being a supporting character. Unfortunately, she falls under the stereotype of short haired girls. She's tomboyish and prefers to keep her hair short. She is also not afraid to inflict physical punishment on her team if needed. Lacking feminine traits, she is also a horrible cook and is infamous in the team for being such a bad cook.

Minori exists as a weird character in a high school setting. She is flamboyant and speaks her mind and has many quirks as well. At times she can be silly and somebody you probably will not want to take advice from but she has her serious moments too, which shows that she is not just your typical klutz. Dedicated to her schoolmates, Minori cares dearly for her small circle of friends and is even affectionately called 'Minorin' by her best friend, Aisaka Taiga. Her personality is one of the reason she is popular not only as an anime girl with short hair, but also carries the title of the best few redheads in anime. Her hair is kept at shoulder length and is coloured a fiery red which reflects her personality of being in a state of perpetual hyper-ness. Another short hair characteristic.

What happens when you put personality into hair? It doesn't happen. With the exception of the monogatari series of course. The creators were creative enough to express the Araragi family's emotions to the movements of their ahoge. Her hair is almost like a bowl cut and complements her already round face which just make her all the more adorable and making you wanna cuddle her. Tsukihi is one of the younger sisters of Koyomi and she is just as adorable as the imouto typecast will allow. Always donning a kimono, she has a perfect Japanese imouto feel to her. The incest and ecchi tag is just a bonus. I swear! (/w\)"

Just because a girl suffers from androphobia , it doesn't lessen the kawaii factor in them. It shows that they are vulnerable and needs to be cared for. Inami works at a family restaurant and has the tendency to punch any male in sight on pure instincts, which is a major turnoff for many... It gotten so bad that her peers had to train her to be used to males by having a male escort her home holding a stick. However, give her time and allow her to open herself up to you and you’ll get a helpful serving of moeness. You will simply beg for desserts afterwards. Inami fiery orangey short hair reflects her impulsive nature to punch any males in sight and most males are afraid of her. However, the irony lies in the fact that Inami is a pure maiden at heart and not at all rash and tomboyish (except when it comes to punching). She is one of few short haired girls that goes against the stereotype. I am speaking on behalf of her personality that is...

This next character on the list is waifu material! Having mixes of being a tsundere and a kuudere, Maki just can't express her true emotions and is most of the time, shy. A talented pianist, she joins the group of 9. There is the sparkly Honoka, the adorable Kotori and then you have quiet and reserved Maki amongst the others. She is also quite intelligent as well, often doing well in tests as well as being a talented composer for the group. Dubbed the diva of the idol group, she shows you that you don't need long hair to be labelled as a cool diva. You go girl! Kept at shoulder length, Maki's hair is coloured a rich crimson, almost representing her undying passion in music as well as her being almost like a dainty and beautiful rose, placing her at number 5.

Nagisa of the famous series Clannad definitely deserves her spot here. This dango fanatic is a klutz and has a innocent personality and smile, almost childlike in fact. She often says out her favourite food in order to feel comfortable which was what made Tomoya-senpai notice her in the first place. The effort that Key takes in developing their characters is second to none as that is probably what made them famous. If we're talking lovable characters, Nagisa is definitely a must add on that list, so let's place her at No.4. Her short hair that looks like a typical middle school cut fits her perfectly as she gives off the vibe of a good girl and being of a timid nature, both of which she is which contributes heavily to her lovable personality.

Tuturu~ next on the list is Mayuri-desu~ With her signature catchphrase and greeting, she has charmed the hearts of many by her innocence. She is the simple sidekick to the mad scientist, Okabe Rintarou and also his childhood friend. While often not getting the complicated theories that he spouts, he is soon soothed by the gentle nature of Mayuri. There is a fad when Steins;Gate was at its peak, to set her catchphrase as a ringtone. That's how popular she is. Everytime she shows up, I instinctively reach for my phone. Who are you calling a weeb?!? Mayuri has short hair as well which fits well for her age of 16. She is supposedly the young childhood friend of Rintarou who sometimes act as his conscience. Her short hair gives her the looks of that innocence and the artist did a good job for conceptualising the uncorrupted and young character we all love.

Only my railgun is perhaps one of the most recognised anime tunes that every otaku has at least heard before. That is the legend of Misaka Mikoto - the railgun. Misaka is a hot favourite character and can also be described as: 'simply electrifying' or Biri-Biri for short. The popularity of this character is clearly shown when her series is more popular than the parent series - Toaru Majutsu no Index. Of course, credit is to be given as Index was a good anime as well but if you want more of Misaka, skip right ahead to her series instead. Misaka is your typical but lovable short haired girl. She is boisterous, loves a good fight and above all, a genuine tomboy by nature. Not wanting to appear feminine, she even wears safety shorts underneath her skirt. It does not change the fact that she is one of the most recognisable character in the anime world and the number 2 on this list.

Nagato Yuki is often left in the shadows due to her loud and expressive brigade leader - Haruhi. The air of mystery surrounding her could be the reason for her popularity. Despite having so many lovable characters in the series, Yuki is the one favoured by most. Yuki-chan has the typical quiet, doesn't say too much and mind her own business aura. When you add her glasses and the length of her hair, she is just your typical book nerd whose moeness level is over 9000! She even has her own spinoff Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu so there you have it! Even short haired girls can have their own spinoffs!

Also known as the Railgun for her powerful, often one-hit-kill move and also known as Tokiwadai’s Ace, Mikoto is a child prodigy who went from a level 1 esper to a level 5 through hard work, and she is a student with consistently high grades. She’s so proficient with her abilities as an esper, she donated her DNA to help people recover from a fatal disease. And since stories rarely go smoothly, her DNA was used for something else by the military. Surprise, surprise. Mikoto has a laundry list of traits, like that she’s ill-tempered, prideful, often shows improper attitude, is tomboyish, tsundere, and has a ton of insecurities. Despite all of that, she is easygoing and friendly. Which is normally rare because level 5 espers are usually d**ks and look down on low level espers.

Miou is a third year high school student, president of the Survival Game Club, extremely popular among the girls, is blessed with extreme fortune, and loves to shoot things with her dual desert eagles. I mean, she’s so lucky she can find a whole briefcase worth of money without even trying. If she’s unlucky, she’ll only find a wad of money around a few million yen. Yeah, that sucks for her. Miou is usually responsible for all of the club activities and since she’s from a very rich family, she sends her club to one of the most silliest and expensive activities she could think of. She tends to be the first to resort to violence when she finds no peaceful alternative. But seriously, even if there’s one, she’d prefer to fix the problem using sheer firepower. She is reckless and sometimes over-the-top, but there’s one thing is for sure: You’ll never have a boring time with Miou around. That’s assuming you survive the ordeal.

Haruhi is the founding member of the SOS Brigade with the purpose of finding strange phenomena and paranormal activities… really it’s just for finding aliens, time travelers and espers. And conveniently they’re right next to her. There’s a reason for that, because Haruhi has the power to change, destroy, and reshape reality, so if she gets into a mood swing, the universe is at risk. Basically, it’s god during her puberty. Haruhi is smart, athletic and energetic, but since she has fascinations of the unknown, she has no interests in interacting with normal people. She gets easily angered, she’s anti-social, stubborn and unpredictable. Thankfully with the help of Kyon, Nagato Yuki, Asahina Mikuru, and Koizumi Itsuki, she became more ‘stable’ and gradually interacts with everyone. And of course they keep her happy so she won’t destroy the universe. Imagine if Haruhi is your girlfriend and you cheat on her… Oh boy.

Miyazawa Yukino is the perfect model student. Smart, attractive, athletic, admired by fellow students, and admired by the teachers at school. However, her perfect exterior is just a mask to hide the fact she’s an attention w—*ahem* to hide the fact she only did it to receive praise and wants to be the center of attention. At home, she’s nothing but perfect—she’s a slobbish person and has no real friends. All things change when she meets Arima Sochiro. Yukino soon abandoned her fake ways, and slowly opened up throughout the series and eventually ended up making real friends outside Sochiro. Despite her deceitfulness, her skills are the real deal and people still admire her, with or without her mask.

Probably the most unfortunate girl on the list, but it won’t stop Homura from being one of the best school girls around. Cool, smart, and deadly, Homura Akemi was a typical school girl until she saw the unspeakable… multiple times. Akemi is a magical girl with the power to manipulate time and uses non-conventional magical girl weapons like guns, rocket launchers, explosives. After discovering the darker side of her powers and consequence of every magical girl who received the contract, she travels to multiple time lines to stop this end of the world event called the Walpurgis Night.

Where do I start? Well, she’s a mix of races, has a temper, she’s smart – as in so incredibly smart that she earned a university degree (quite honestly they really didn’t emphasize that enough) at a young age, she can speak fluent German, she’s extremely proud and is a formidable Eva pilot. Quite frankly, Asuka isn’t the best role model around. She’s impulsive, b**chy, tsundere, and has, well, let’s face it, like the rest of the crew, she has daddy problems. However she is energetic, confident, not afraid to speak her mind, very aggressive, and she’s a 14 year old who pilots a giant robot! Her fiery personality and attractive character design made her one of the most familiar faces in anime. Oh and if you love tsundere characters, then she’ll keep you happy… you masochist, you!

Mako may be energetic as if she had too many cups of black coffee every day and is a bit of an oddball, and sometimes lazy, but looks can be deceiving. Basically she’s smarter than she looks. On episode 7, Mako and Ryuuko started their own fight club for—SPOILERS—and since Ryuuko is bad at almost everything, save for fighting, Mako stepped in to be the club’s president. A lot of people underestimated her abilities, but after a few days, she managed to keep up with the meetings and paperwork and lifted her and her family out of the slums and into better living. Given at how demanding Honnouji Academy is, Mako pulled it off through sheer determination.

Ayano is the student council vice-president of Nanamori Middle School, a girl who is often not too honest with her feelings towards the energetic, often oddball-like, and rival Toshinou Kyouko. Aside from her extreme tsundere attitude towards Kyouko, she has a signature quirk of unintentionally making puns based on locations like Angkor Wat and Notre Dame. She is studious, responsible and seemingly looks like she’s doing most of the work, and while she oftentimes ends up with the short end of the stick (Sakurako ended up eating her favorite pudding), everyone respects and cares for her. And no, the school uniform is not a maternity dress!

Proud, stubborn, and passionate, Eri is one of the main characters of School Rumble and is arguably one of the most loved and memorable characters in the show. And she’s rich too. Unlike any other stubborn rich girls in anime, Eri doesn’t use her social status as leeway to get the things she wants. On the outside she looks like your typical role model — graceful, calm, beautiful, but deep down, she’s just like any normal girl — insecure, stubborn and oh so proud. They may sound like negatives, but they’re not. She’s a caring friend, a responsible student and a fast learner. What makes her stand out is her relationship with the school delinquent Harima Kenji. Eri’s interactions with Harima break her out of her shell to reveal what Eri is truly like. Quite frankly, Eri and Harima’s antics are the best part of the show.

Along with her best friend Hoshimiya Ichigo, Aoi passed the entrance exam to Starlight School and since that day, the two had become one of the most successful idols in Aikatsu! history. Unlike Ichigo being the cute type idol, Aoi is the cool type with Futuring Girl being her brand of choice. Aoi started out as a big fan of idols and then became an idol herself. After becoming something she admired since a child, she retained her fangirl habits and gets excited when there’s something unexpected. Armed with a camera that she carries all the time, Aoi never misses any rare moments. Aoi is one of the most talented idols around and earned a lot of accomplishments like passing the entrance exam with a perfect score, winning the Pon Pon Crepe Girl audition on her first try, she’s one of the idols who passed the acting audition of Bad Girl Detectives, became the main character of the spin off “Bad Girl Commissioner”, and is a member of the unstoppable three-idol group Soleil. Aoi is very smart, energetic and witty. She’s so good at gathering info and has the ability to remember every idol she sees, so she is given the nickname of “Idol Professor”. She is a natural teacher and given her success and passion as an idol, Aoi is a prime candidate to one day guide the new idols as Starlight Academy’s headmistress.

Eru is a girl who is just curious about anything. She usually drags other people around just so that she could sate her curiosity. Her catchphrase is literally "I'm curious" which is said in almost every episode. Eru has long, straight and flowing black hair to her shoulders with short and straight bangs in front. At times, she ties it up into a ponytail but leave a few strands of hair loose on the side. She dons a kimono on one episode which perfectly complements her hair. She had a refined look and for good reasons - her family is rich!

The world of Yahari is set in a club called the "Service Club". The club's purpose is simply to aid students with any requests they put forward. Heading this club is Yukino, a sharp-tongued but incredibly beautiful girl. She is also usually very sarcastic, much to the dismay of the main character - Hachiman, her only target. Yukino has waist length black hair which gives her the looks of a student president. While not a student president, she is still a president of the Service Club and gets along really well with the club counsellor. She has untidy bangs in front with a parting in the middle that makes both her sides and front hair length uneven.

Nico is a member of Muse, a 9 person idol group whose aim is to be the top idol group in Japan. In a group of 9, different personalities are sure to surface. Nico however is quite unique in a way too. Aside from the fact that she is too extravagant with her actions at times (to the point of attention seeking), she is just... Normal... Nico is quite highly ranked and widely recognised when the anime was at its peak. However, after looking closely at her as a whole, she possesses no outstanding qualities and has no other talents aside from her act like an idol gimmick. Nico has twin pigtails that are tied up with red ribbons giving the look of a loli. I suppose this fulfils the typical stereotype of a black character - normal and down to earth. Or it is one of those exceptional circumstances that go against the trope of a black hair character making them unorthodox. I can't tell! She's too mundane as a character to draw sufficient interpretation. Perhaps normalcy and being mundane is a quality itself and that is why she just grows on you.

Kurumi is somewhat of a maniac and a sadist. When she is appearing in her normal form, she can act normal and even reserved. In her spirit form however, she transforms into a bloodthirsty sadist with a very sharp tongue. She serves as the antagonist of the series as well as the wild card in the sense that she randomly pops out at times to cause trouble. She is one of the most lovable characters of the series. Kurumi's hairstyle in her normal form is super long and flowing with her bangs longer on one side which covers her left eye adding to the aura of mystery which also shows her reserved self. In her battle form, it changes to a twin tails with her right eye exposed with a red and black hairpiece. Her black hair also represents her enigmatic nature as she always appears at the most unpredictable time and her actions are unable to be comprehended at all. Therefore, we rank her at number 7 of the list.

Mikasa is a talented youth who joined the Survey Corps. Unlike her adopted brother, Eren Yaeger, she is amongst the best of the cohort with natural talents. She is often reserved and shows no signs of arrogance unlike some of the characters in the series. Mikasa has short black hair with a lock of hair falling out in front. Her hair colour reveals her down to earth attitude and the desire to be traditional and live normally. She doesn't speak much either, making her appear aloof. It is also worth noting that since her hair probably doesn’t get in her way, she is probably more battle ready than most female characters with hair covering their eyes adding to her prowess. This places her at number 6 on our list.

She is a trained assassin. Ever since her youth days, she is part of a special program that trains children to be cold blooded killers. Devoid of emotions and being able to kill without remorse, she represents the archetype of the assassin. Yet however, she cares dearly for her companions whom she calls her friends as well as being willing to sacrifice herself should the need arises. Akame is usually dressed in black. Her hair colour is black as well. Visually, it represents her dark temperament, being able to strike swiftly from the shadows and then blend right back in. However, her black hair on field also shows how awesome she can be. Her back hair is as long as till her knees and perhaps even longer while her side hair is up till her shoulders. Powerful as she is smart, she is known to take calculated risks before attempting a mission and don't usually act on impulse - typical of a long, black haired character. She ranks at number 5 on the list.

Rin is a highly adept mage with a serious attitude. She plans her actions carefully before executing them straight down to the finest detail. Rin is meticulous and that is why her plans are more often or not, successful. Rin’s has twin-tails up to her shoulder which she tied up with black ribbons. Rin's hair colour suggests that she is rational and a level headed thinker. It also shows her unfriendly side but most (if not all) of the reason is because she's a tsundere.

Sawako is feared for her menacing looks. She resembles the character from hit horror movie 'The Ring'. It doesn't help her at all that her name is Sawako, which is one character away from Sadako - the frightening supernatural entity in the movie whose long hair covers her entire face. As such, she doesn't have many friends. Beyond the fearsome look however, Sawako is actually kind, soft spoken and even a bit ditzy at times. She made a couple of new friends and even has a love interest. Everyone will soon agree that there is nothing much to be afraid of Sawako at all! Sawako has long, straight and black hair with bangs. To be honest, her hair if longer, does remind you of Sadako which is probably why everybody avoids her as Sadako has very straight long black hair that covers her entire face. At this length of however, she reminds you of your typical normal high school girl - the goody two shoes kind. You can even tell that she is docile and good at heart. She does represent the black long hair, gentle look kind of girl and as such ranks at number 3 on the list.

Coming straight from the depths of hell to exact your vengeance and standing at number 3 on this list is Enma Ai. She is an urban legend from the days of yore. Truly a figure of enigma, Ai speaks very little in the show but leaves behind a very poignant memory to viewers as her past is shown and her true nature revealed. Ai has very pale skin with straight black hair. While she is not someone particularly noble, she is still a folklore legend and as such, upholds the traditions and customs as a legend. Her enigma is depicted through her eyes and hair as she is shrouded in an aura of mystery and gloominess as it flows and blends in with the mysterious night sky.

Mio belongs to a light music club (K-on) and plays the bass. She is extremely shy but when it comes down to it, she is able to make good decisions for the club. Her reason for playing the bass is because she would not want to stand out too much and at the same time, be the underlying support for her friends very similar to the bass instrument. Mio has long black hair, which represent her delicate nature and shyness. She has a small centre parting which reveals part of her forehead. Her bangs are also long enough such that she is able to hide her eyes when she is shy, adding to her adorableness. She is also sensible and is usually the better decision maker in the group. These combined factors are what made Mio a popular character in the series and throughout the anime world as well. We will place her at number 1 of the list!

Mizore is an ice princess in more ways than one. Like many of the characters in the series, she’s infatuated with the protagonist Tsukune. However, her love is unrequited and her sorrows don’t end there. However, this isn’t the first time she’s suffered misfortune in romance, as the series later reveals. Mizore is a yuki-onna, a spirit that manipulates the powers of snow and frost. Her cold temperament is in keeping with her magical capabilities. She is quite a lonely character, primarily keeping to herself. Her face is often expressionless, and she is rarely seen smiling. She is certainly one of the most endearing sad girls in anime.

Yayoi is one of the protagonists of the magical girl anime Smile Pretty Cure! She controls the power of lightning and is an extremely kind, empathetic person. She is generally introverted, only opening up and sharing her thoughts and dreams with those she feels comfortable around. Yayoi cares deeply for her friends, and will protect them no matter what the odds are. Despite her inner strength, her emotional vulnerability leads to her crying quite a bit. Her tendency to be provoked to tears extremely easily earns her a mention here.

Hotaru Tomoe, also known as Sailor Saturn, is one of the youngest sailor scouts. For most of her life she has lived on her own, and because of this she hasn’t had a chance to make any real friends. Her life of isolation has left her with a mysterious, quiet demeanor that comes off as cold to strangers. In the series it is revealed that a large part of her isolation is due to the fact that she is very sickly. Because of this, her classmates didn’t accept her and she was forced into solitude. She is a sweet girl at heart, but the perpetual sadness in her eyes speaks volumes, putting her on this list.

Enma Ai is a spirit who always wears a sad, vacant expression. At the onset of the series, it would be easy to attribute her demeanor to her job. She has been tasked with torturing evil people and then ferrying each of their souls to hell. Who wouldn’t be depressed with that day job? However, this task is more than something she has been assigned – it is something she must do to atone for her sins, which are darker than one could possibly imagine. Her sinister past reveals a great deal more about her sadness, and her truly tragic origin story earns her a spot on this list.

Tsubaki is a villain in the Mirai Nikki series. Though young, she is the leader of a powerful religious sect and uses her powers to present the protagonists with a variety of obstacles. Despite her wicked nature, she is quite a tragic character that manages to provoke sympathy from the viewer. Physically frail, she was born with almost no ability to see. As a result of her handicap, she was used and exploited in unspeakable ways by her family and their religious cult at a very young age. Though evil, she is a very sad character, earning her a place here.

Princess Shirahoshi is a mermaid, and though she is the youngest of King Neptune’s children, she is a remarkable size for her species. Though this might make her fearsome, her disposition makes it impossible for her to be intimidating. How could you be afraid when she’s always crying? Shirahoshi is as big a crybaby as they come. This is possibly a result of the fact that she has spent so much time on her own. She is extremely emotionally fragile, and it only takes the drop of a pin to make her burst into a hysterical fit of tears. Her leaky eyes secure her a spot as one of the saddest girls in anime.

Hayami is forced to live on her own after a tragic accident leaves her with absolutely nothing. She is hated by everyone in her village because her family's wealth and greed earned her a bad reputation. Now she is homeless, and alone. After going through this kind of trauma it is understandable that she would be depressed. She is so defeated by her misfortune that when others attack her, she is unable to stand up for herself. Though her sadness improves with the help of the series protagonist Takuma, she still ranks as one of the saddest girls in anime.

Kikyo was a shrine maiden deeply in love with the protagonist of the series Inuyasha. Her appearance is deceiving as she is no longer alive - she was killed by a half demon, pretending to be her beloved. In order to sustain her physical form, she must use souls of the deceased as sustenance. Though being denied her beloved causes her deep pain, she remains cold, calm and calculating. However, it is apparent that underneath the surface she harbors a deep sadness. Though she can see the person she loves, she can never be with him. It is her tragic story that puts her in one of the top spots on this list.

Rei Ayanami appears so emotionless that other characters in the series refer to her as a "doll." Because she is so cold towards others, most of her classmates avoid her, and she is quite lonely. She retains an air of mystery about her, and is another character who almost never smiles. She isn’t completely devoid of emotion, however. It is eventually revealed that the main reason she is so detached is because she is an expendable creature, and is well aware of that fact. Throughout the series she carries this tremendous heartrending burden, putting her towards the top of this list.

The first impression Misuzu leaves is of an eccentric, quirky high school student struggling to make connections with her peers. However, it becomes clear that her inability to make friends has to do with much more than being a bit odd. Misuzu has been cursed with eternal pain. Every time she becomes close to someone, her mental and physical conditions begin to deteriorate. Despite this, she begins to forge a close connection with the main character, Yukito. Her desire for love ultimately proves detrimental to her, making her the saddest female character in anime.

Student Council President and Third Year student Ayase Eli is one of the last members to join the School Idol Group at Otonokizaka High School. Taking up the strict older sister role, Eli is one of the mature members of the group, not just in personality, but also her more bodacious, womanly figure. You can spot her along with the other girls in their wintry attire during the performance of maybe the series’ best known song, Snow Halation. On top of that, if you happen to be a fan of the Love Live mobile game, you can expect to see the return of the girl’s Christmas cards.

As the 3rd strongest esper in Academy City, it’s understandable why Mikoto Misaka is a bit full of herself. Famous throughout the city, her signature move “Railgun” makes use of her powers as an Electromaster to fire metal objects at incredible speeds, making her a serious force to be reckoned with. Although she still has a surprisingly easy time finding trouble, and hanging around local misfortune magnet Touma probably doesn’t help. The unusual mix of lady-like and tsundere personality types has caused Misaka to top popularity polls in Japan left, right and center, even earning her a spin-off series. Although not normally one for cosplay, Misaka’s incredible popularity has given rise to a good array of Christmas themed illustrations, often featuring an excited Kuroko trying to get a little too close for comfort.

Despite being First Princess of the Galaxy, Lala Deviluke isn’t exactly reserved or lady-like, and has a bad habit a walking around with a serious lack of clothing on. The girl’s got confidence, you’ve gotta love that. Unfortunately she’s quite unaware of her own feminine charms, and so is having a tough time convincing her crush Rito that she’s the girl for him. With a mountain of confidence, it’s no wonder Lala doesn’t mind cosplaying from time to time, which of course includes some stunning seasonal pieces. Along with a number of Christmasy illustrations, episode 9 sees Lala don full Santa gear, ready to dish out presents to her family and friends.

Fuyuki City, the stage of the Holy Grail Wars, where seven individuals are pitted against each other in the hopes of acquiring the Holy Grail itself, capable of granting the wish of its possessor. Adapted from the Fate/Stay Night visual novel, Unlimited Blade Works follows the route of Rin Tohsaka, a mage and only remaining heir to the Tohsaka household, in her attempts to win the grail for herself and her household. Between Rin Tohsaka and Saber, this was a difficult one, with both being excellent and incredibly popular characters. Though very dark at times, with top quality art and animation, Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works is an absolute joy to watch and includes some stunning female cast members character, Rin being but one of them.

In many ways Ikaros is a very fortunate angeloid, wielding unbelievable power and possessing a mind several times faster than that of a human. Unfortunately with all that power and intellect her creator found that there wasn’t quite enough space for emotions as well, but hey, you can’t have everything. Luckily her inability to feel, or even understand the concept of embarrassment has led to an interesting choice of attire, or lack thereof. With a good majority of her clothing designed around her overflowing bust, it’s easy to see why Ikaros deserves a spot on a list like this. Add to that a wardrobe of thigh-highs and short skirts, Ikaros’ armor might not be the most effective at deflecting blows, but it’s certainly nice to look at.

Studious, kind and reliable, Naru Narusegawa is the perfect girl in so many ways, though her quick temper and violent tendencies do put a bit of a damper on things. Despite her sweaters and thick glasses, worn to avoid the attention of guys, Naru remains one of the sexiest girls in the cast, helped by her womanly figure and of course by the awkward situations Keitaro gets her into. Love Hina is from a time before ecchi got quite as extreme, which in many ways is quite relaxing and enjoyable to watch – something warm and fuzzy for Christmas time. There’s also an excellent Christmas special, where you can see a whole lot more of Naru and the other girls getting into the festive spirit.

Living her life as the butt of every joke, Mikuru Asahina has a hard time getting by in the SOS Brigade. Admittedly it’s only Haruhi Suzumiya dishing out the abuse, but apparently letting her do as she likes is actually the safest option. Mikuru is one of the greatest examples of a big breasted, moe character, who despite her great figure, lacks the confidence to flaunt it. Luckily Haruhi is at hand with an array of embarrassing cosplay outfits, to ensure fan service is delivered. With maids and bunny girls ticked off the list it’s no wonder Mikuru ends up with a few Christmas outfits as well. You can see her donning the classic Santa outfit in both The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie and the series spin-off, The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan. She’s also been spotted dressed as a reindeer, it really is a hard life living under Haruhi’s rule!

A powerful pure-blooded devil, when not fighting gods and fallen angels Rias Gremory spends a majority of her time with her devil peerage in the Occult Research Club. As one of the most popular girls in the school, it may come as no surprise that Rias was also blessed with the body of a goddess, and we can only assume the school uniform bends reality itself, to contain her. But with great breas- power, comes great responsibility, and as such, Rias is always quick to act as a shield for her friends, although this often just gives her a good excuse to coddle her plaything, and protagonist, Issei. Rias looks great in just about anything, or nothing, and for that reason she appears in all manner of outfits and lingerie throughout the series. In fact as one of the most ecchi shows on this list, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to find her wrapped up in some nice ribbons under your tree on Christmas morning.

Hailing from the magical world of Mapleland, Isuzu Sento is the current (and quite terrible) manager of Amagi Brilliant Park. More suited to being the royal guard of Mapleland’s princess Latifa, Isuzu’s main talent is pulling a musket out of her skirt, which is mainly used for punishing the park’s lazy mascots. Despite being a stunning beauty, Sento unfortunately appears to be dead inside, much like a kuudere type but infused with a silent rage. At the whims of Princess Latifa and new park manager Kanie, Sento is forced into numerous sexy outfits throughout the series and outside of it, from bikinis to cute reindeer attire, all for the sake of Amagi Brilliant Park of course. Though it has to be said she doesn’t exactly put up much of a fight, which is down to either her dedication to the job or maybe she’s just secretly into that sort of thing?

You would think a popular, attractive blonde girl like Sena Kashiwazaki would have a pretty large circle of friends, but somehow she’s managed to end up as one of the loneliest girls in school. Despite the protests of its president Yozora, Sena has pushed and shoved her way into the Neighbor’s Club, made specifically so lonely students such as herself have somewhere to practice the art of making friends. With a nickname like “Meat”, you can imagine what her most prominent features are, both of them. Despite her angry and tsundere-like nature, Sena is very awkward and quick to embarrass. Add to that the fact that she’s gullible and here you’ve got a cute, sexy girl who’s easily tricked into dressing up. The Christmas themed art for Sena, both official and fan made is some of the best out there, making her the star on top of this Christmas list.

What better than to start Christmas Day next to the most childish girl in the world of Anime? The lovely Umaru-chan is an expert at always getting what she wants. Christmas time will be full of gifts with Umaru, so you’ll have the time of your life next to her. She’s also extremely kind and generous, so even if you don’t get what you wanted or as many gifts as you expected, she will surely share with you whatever it is she asked Santa for (which would probably be a bunch of manga comics, DVDs and videogames). And you get to play and rest with her in the warmth of her kotatsu. Pretty cool, huh?

Basically, any of the girls from Love Live! would be great to spend Christmas with. Rin just happens to be my favorite one and probably also the cutest, constantly acting like a cat and ending her sentences with nyan. OMG, she’s so cute :3 Wouldn’t it be great having a pop idol for Christmas just for you? She could sing some Christmas jingles and dance for you. You would have plenty of love and hugs from her and you could also spend all day playing sports on the back yard with her while you wait for Santa’s arrival. I’d really love to get a neko-chan like her for Christmas.

Aisaka Taiga may be known as the Palmtop Tiger for being overly aggressive and rude. Still, we all know deep down she’s a cute little girl who just wants to be loved and walk around with someone who cares for her. And isn’t just that what Christmas is all about? You can’t possibly watch this show without falling for this adorable tsundere girl. I would love to be the one dressing as Santa Bear (ep. 19) to stand by her side during Christmas Eve. Plus, she could sing “Holy Night” to me with that beautiful voice of hers, and who knows; maybe we could end the night under the mistletoe.

Christmas with Yui Hirasawa would be a very musical and cheerful Christmas. Yui could play the Christmas boogie on her Les Paul for you and whatever jingle you ask her. She’s also extremely sweet. As sweet in fact as the amount of candy she can have. She’s a sweet tooth, so you will have plenty of sweet treats on Christmas Eve. Yui would also be constantly holding your hand and hugging you since she likes to express her love in a physical way. You could also get warm under the kotatsu with her before or while you open your gifts. And what do you know? Maybe you get a brand new electric guitar for this Christmas.

Shiro is just another sweet little girl we’d love to share Christmas Day with. I bet Shiro gets plenty of gifts for Christmas and they would all surely be cool games. We’d get to play all day long with the game master girl. Just one thing, you’d probably like to team up with her unless you want to get your butt kicked every single time. This little girl is capable of beating the gods themselves, so you won’t stand a chance against her even if she plays using only her feet. But seriously, Christmas with Shiro would mean loads of gaming and loads of fun.

Winry Rockbell is that sweet yet tomboyish cute girl you’d love to be around at all times, but especially during Christmas time. She’s a bit tough and even rude at times, but she can be extremely sweet towards the people she loves. Winry proves to be extremely caring and she also bakes the yummiest pies. Winry’s warm personality would surely fill you with the Christmas spirit. She’s also good at handcrafting, so Christmas decoration won’t be absent. Besides, you just might get something far better than anything you’ve ever asked Santa for; a brand new automail body part! How cool would that be?

What if we could literally ask Santa for anything we could think of? I bet most of us would probably ask for a beautiful girl. In the world of Chobits, such thing is possible. Just imagine getting a gorgeous girl (persocom, whatever, it’s almost the same) like Chii for Christmas. Yup, that’d be your best Christmas ever. You would have a sweet and adorable girl by your side to follow your every order. Besides, she knows very little of our world, so you could teach her all there is to know about Christmas, the Christmas spirit, family, love and sharing. You could also watch together all those Christmas specials you’ve already seen a million times on your own, because she won’t know any of them. Also, if you’re lucky you just might get a bonus Christmas gift from her. ;)

How wonderful it would be spending Christmas Day at the Hinata Inn together with the gorgeous tsundere Naru and the rest of the girls. Christmas time would be the perfect excuse to draw Naru away from her books for once, and you could all decorate the Hinata House like one big family. The Christmas spirit should be more than enough to soften Naru for a while and let her express the warm feelings she’s constantly repressing. Besides, it is said (on Love Hina’s Christmas Special: Silent Eve) that if you confess your love on Christmas Eve, your dreams will come true. Plus, you’ll get to sleep in an all-girls dorm afterwards.

I believe that Christmas with Konata would be the one of the funniest Christmas ever. It would be full of jokes, fun and loads of food. She loves Anime probably just as much as you do, so you can sit and watch Anime Christmas specials together instead of watching “How the Grinch stole Christmas” for the millionth time. Plus, you’d be getting tons of cool stuff like ero-games, videogames and all sorts of games to play all Christmas Day long. You could also have the rest of the girls over for some Christmas cake and talks about Santa, girls’ bust size (ep. 11) and your favorite Anime shows.

I believe Asuna would be one of those people who are full of Christmas spirit. She is so selfless, kind and honorable that I can’t help but to think of her on Christmas helping the people in need and doing all sorts of charity work with the biggest smile on her face. It’s always nice to have people like that around you. Asuna is incredibly determined and she tends to take things very seriously, so I bet that she would do an amazing job at decorating your place and getting it ready for Santa’s arrival. One thing though, she’s not exactly the best cook in the world, so try to take care of the food yourself or have someone else do it for you.

Sango is one of the only one of Inuyasha’s gang to have no spiritual or supernatural ability. She succeeds just on her own physical skills, and that’s pretty inspiring. She comes from a village that are trained in fighting Youkai, so Sango’s pretty well experienced when it comes to combat. Probably the best thing about her is her unusual weapon, the Hiraikotsu, a giant boomerang made out of the bones of Youkai. Sango doesn’t really have any special attacks that she can conjure with magic, just a host of abilities, and skills that she’s pretty much mastered at a young age, and I think that’s pretty damn cool.

Maka Albarn is one of the main character’s of Soul Eater, and is arguably, the face of the series. The weapon she uses obviously is the soul of another sentient being, and one of the coolest things about her is her relationship with her weapon. It also helps that her weapon is a giant Sycthe, which is as cool as just about anything you can bring to a fight. Maka’s so endearing, because despite being so young, she takes an approach to everything that’s more serious and focused on thinking out of a solution or strategy, where other characters might just focus on brawns. All of these, plus her awesome design, make her a stand-out in Soul Eater.

Mikasa is regarded as one of Humanity’s strongest soldiers, second only to Levi, who was already a seasoned veteran before Mikasa even entered training. Even as a child, she was already strong, often getting into fights alongside Eren to protect their friend Armin. As a soldier, she has elite reflexes, speed, and the physicality to use the 3D Maneuver gear with such mastery. She’s one of the few soldiers capable of those spinning, Beyblade style attacks which Levi uses. She’s also a great character, full of drive, determination and love, as well as a desire to protect her friends, especially Eren. If titan’s can feel anything, they definitely don’t feel anything remotely good when they see Mikasa coming there way.

It’s sad how unknown this anime and this character is, because they’re equally tremendous. Balsa Yonsa is one of the great female lead characters of anime history. As a character, she’s stern, but not unfeeling, she’s strong, but averse to violence and she’s quiet, but not sorely lacking expression. She has depth and balance that make her feel like a fully fleshed out and realized adult character. As more is revealed about her, we see how much she’s changed as a character already, while already going through the hurdles that Moribito’s own narrative takes her. As a fighter, she can wield a spear like no other, and is capable of taking on multiple, elite-level foes all on at once. If you haven’t, make sure to give this show a watch and give Balsa the attention she deserves.

Sometimes, considering how Berserk plays out, it feels like Casca is seemingly a pawn in events too big for her, or almost any other human being, to comprehend, much less control. But despite this, she really is an admirable leader for the Band of the Hawks when it needs it. When Griffith is out of the picture, Casca steps up and is really the only thing which keeps it from splitting apart. Berserk is a tough, tough world, and not one that’s easy for a female mercenary to garner much respect in, but Casca earns it. At full strength, she can even go toe to toe with Guts, at least for a little while, and even that’s a major feat in itself.

There are many, let’s just say ‘mixed’ feelings to be had about Sword Art Online, but I think by far, Yuuki’s arc is easily it’s best part. One of the best things about it is seeing how the main character of the show, easily one of the most OP in recent Anime History, is actually revealed to be less skilled with the sword than Yuuki, which put’s her, in my mind, as the strongest in the whole world of SAO. Aside from her power-level, there’s so much to love about Yuuki. She’s sweet, she has a wonderful character design. I loved how when, she sought out challengers, claiming to be the best swordsman in the land, instead of a brolic, serious looking guy which the other characters were expecting, she was revealed to be a cute girl who was as tough as anyone.

Kiryuin Satsuki comes from an immense pedigree, as the daughter of Ragyo Kiryuin, that’s matched with an immense dedication, work ethic, and fighting spirit. She worked tirelessly to build her own strength and gather allies for a purpose she’s given herself so early in life. Though her methods are totalitarian, her intention is a noble one. She’s an incredibly strong fighter who can only be matched by Ryuko and Ragyo. Satsuki’s one of the few who can don a Kamui, and she’s an incredible opponent when she wears Junketsu. She’s the face of human excellence and her statement ‘ask not the sparrow how the eagle soars’ echo’s her own greatness.

Erza is the strongest and most intimidating in all of the Fairy Tail guild, much of it due to her serious and fearsome demeanor. She’s cunning, incredibly strong, exceptionally capable with a sword and is also an extremely strong mage. Her magic, re-equip magic, allows her to switch armor and weapons which fit the situation she’s in. For example, through the re-equip magic, the black wing armor she uses enables her to fly, or the adamantine armor gives her immense defense and armor. She has over 100 armor sets and 200 weapons under her command, and an amazing mahout-shoujo inspired transformation sequence!

Claire Started off as the weakest of the Claymores, but utilized her talents to far surpass her original strength. Her one initial strength is her excellent senses, which enable her to feel the presence of Yoma, the ghoulish enemies in the world of claymore, far before her compatriots. This sense enables her to read the attacks of Yoma before they even happen, and when she concentrates on this ability, she can defeat Yoma which outclass higher-ranked claymores, including the awakened beings. The further along in the series, the stronger she becomes and the more abilities she masters.

Saber is one of the most powerful Heroic Spirits in the Fate-Verse. As Artoria Pendragon, Saber was a fabled leader of men, who commanded brilliantly and always fought in the vanguard of a battle. As a servant, she’s near unparalleled at full strength. Unmatched in swordplay, she wields Excalibur, the famous blade of Arthurian Legend, which boasts extreme power. Saber has insane reflexes, lightning speed, resistance to magic and, though hindered in both the 4th and 5th Holy Grail war due to injuries or an incompetent master, she still is capable of going toe to toe against any other servant.

Kyouko is a sweet, teenage girl who dreams of being a princess and believes in fairy tail endings, which is why she followed her childhood friend, Shou, to Tokyo to help him follow his dreams. While in Tokyo, Kyouko has been working hard every day to support their lifestyle while she waits for Shou's career to pick up. One day, she overhears Shou bad mouthing her and calling her a boring wallflower despite all that she did to support him, so Kyouko swears vengeance and enters the entertainment world to accomplish her goals. Yes, the #10 creepy anime girl is Mogami Kyouko, who shines bright with talent and innocence. Why? Once Shou breaks Kyouko's innocent young female heart, we get to see Kyouko's inner demons swarm out with a desire for vengeance. Not only that but Kyouko develops a routine of cursing Shou, muttering to herself openly, and plaguing the public with her inner demons. It's a riot to see how Kyouko gets herself into trouble with her dark wrath and hatred, especially when she's the type who wants to be a princess. Maybe she can be a princess of darkness?

Doma Umaru is perfect in every way from her grades, athletic ability, beauty, and personality, but when she gets home, she's a hamster loving otaku with a love for junk food, video games, anime, TV, and cola! Her older brother Taihei always ends up stuck with all the chores. Umaru's camouflage is perfect, however, so when others see her in her "himouto" mode, they don't even know it's her. Motoba Kirie is a creepy anime girl who is often misunderstood as being a bad person, which often leaves her alone. Why is she creepy? Well, even if Kirie is technically kind at heart, she has been known to stalk Umaru home, worship chibi Umaru, and stare in silence for long periods of time, which could make anyone uncomfortable.

Due to his small size, Yukinari has always been terrorized by girls which resulted in his developing an allergy to girls that causes him to break out in hives if he is near a girl or touched by a girl. One day Yukinari is transported to Seiren, a city that orbits the Earth and is female dominated. Yukinari is terrified of the girls who chase him in Seiren, but there is one special girl, Miharu, whose touch does not give him hives. Kosame is one scary girl to do combat against, but watch out, if you beat her, she's the obsessive type. Throughout Girls Bravo, she’s constantly stalking Kirie, spying on her, and if she gets a chance, Kosame goes for the grab! Whether it's just an obsessive girl crush or full on shoujo ai, Kosame does not do things lightly, but it's her creepy antics that make Girls Bravo a fun anime to catch when you need a few laughs.

Itou Makoto falls in love with Katsura Kotonoha, a girl who rides the same train as he does. His new classmate, Saionji Sekai finds out about his crush and offers to help him. Although Sekai is successful in getting Makoto and Kotonoha together, deep down, she also has feelings for Makoto. When Makoto laments on how to repay Sekai for her kindness, she claims a kiss as her compensation and leaves him dumbfounded in time for his date with Kotonoha. Katsura Kotonoha ranks pretty high on the list of creepy ex-girlfriends which earned her a rightful place as a top 10 creepy anime girl. With her imaginary boyfriend Makoto, obsessive and psychotic behavior, and bloody solutions, Kotonoha is definitely one creepy anime girl that you should not mess with. Well, it's also thanks to her psychoticism that we have the beautiful ending that can only be School Days.

Tomoko's got decades of experience with boys but only in otome games. In reality, she's a teenage shut in who matches the definition of a "mojo" or gloomy girl. Tomoko thought that everything would change for her when she went to high school. She thought she'd make friends, be popular, and get a boyfriend, but once she graduated into high school, Tomoko found that nothing has changed. Now that she's in high school, it's time to take a look at herself in the mirror and fix the problem, but mirrors don't lie and what Tomoko sees isn't what she expected. Kuroki Tomoko is probably what ignorant people think of when they first imagine "female otaku". You'll find yourself constantly switching between sympathy and creeped out when you watch WataMote. Maybe it's her misconception about beauty, erotic dreams in school, or the way she giggles as she is verbally abused by a recording from her favorite seiyuu that makes Tomoko one of the creepiest anime girls, but it's what makes WataMote worthwhile to watch.

Kyouhei, Ranmaru, Takenaga and Yuki are living in a mansion for free, but what does this paradise cost them? They have to turn the landlady's niece into a perfect lady, except unbeknownst to them, Sunako is a gore loving, gloomy girl who lurks in the shadows. While they try to get her to come out of her shell, Sunako is blinded by their brightness and constantly faints with a nosebleed. Is Sunako going to become a lady first or is she going to die from blood loss? Sunako skulks the halls bringing gloom and terror to classmates and her roommates. Sunako is the type to seek refuge in the science laboratory with animals preserved in mysterious fluids and anatomical skeletons. She's the creepy anime girl whose best friends are anatomical figures and skeletons that she keeps hidden away in her dark bedroom! If that doesn't make Sunako creepy enough, Sunako cooks like she's in a slasher film and moves like Sadako. However, with all these traits, Sunako makes Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge a hilarious anime to watch. There are not many shoujo heroines out there that would choose a chainsaw as their weapon of choice.

Yukihara Soma has been working at his family's restaurant since he was little with the dream that he would be able to inherit the restaurant and cook better than his father, but one day, his father decides to close up shop to cook around the world. Soma is told to enroll into Totsuki Culinary Academy, a school with a 10% graduation rate, to hone his skills. Soma isn't expecting much, but when he arrives, he is surprised by what he discovers when he attends Totsuki, a school famous for its showdowns called the Shokugeki. The Shokugeki pits students against each other in a gamble to test their skills. Soma soon discovers he's not the only one with a talent for cooking and perhaps cooking school isn't as boring as he thought it was. There is no way you missed Nao in Shokugeki no Soma. She stalks Erina in the trees and secretly curses Erina's best friend and aide, Hisako. It's not just her stalking ability that makes her such a creepy anime girl, it's how she brings her personality out in her cooking. No one could concoct a foul smelling, black sludge and call it curry but Nao. You've never know if she was nourishing you or poisoning you!

Yoma wander the earth feasting on human entrails and then camouflaging into society by changing into a human form. To defend humans against Yoma, half-yoma half-human warriors known as Claymores for the swords that they wield or "Silver-eyed Witches" for their silver eyes are sent out by an organization to fight the Yoma. While humans need the Claymores to survive, they hate them and shun them from society. Raki, a young boy, loses everything to the Yoma and is saved by a Claymore, Clare. With no one willing to care for him, Raki runs off with Clare to join her on her journey and learn about the existence of Claymores, beings who are so hated by society but keep society alive. What makes Priscilla a creepy anime girl, and actually all awakened beings, is the fact that she can seem so coherent and sweet at one moment, and then murderously slay you the next. Combined with Priscilla's control of youki and skill, Priscilla is not a predator you want stalking you. It's truly her innocent demeanor that should really creep you out the most because it lures you in before turning into a monster that will be your demise, but that's also what makes her one creepy anime girl to love because she makes a worthy antagonist.

Megumi dreams of living it up big in the city in contrast to her quiet village life in Sotoba, where she looks forward to nothing but seeing the boy she has a crush on, Yuuki Natsuno. Things take a turn for the worst when Megumi dies in what is deemed a village epidemic, and Natsuno finds himself haunted by Megumi after her death. Meanwhile, Ozaki Toshio, the local doctor, questions the nature of the disease plaguing the village. Between Toshio and Natsuno, they attempt to save Sotoba from the evil lurking in the shadows. Aside from the fact that she's dead yet wandering the earth, Shimizu Megumi makes a name for herself as a creepy anime girl. She's barely even spoken with Natsuno, but after her death, Megumi becomes obsessive and deluded, believing that only she has the right to turn Natsuno into a vampire. Megumi watches Natsuno from the shadows with a fiery possessiveness and haunts him in his dreams. Make sure that when you visit Sotoba, you aren't crushed my Megumi's "crush".

Amano Yukiteru is a teenage boy who is timid and has a habit of communicating with imaginary friends on his cell phone diary. Somehow, Gasai Yuno falls in love with him and they are thrown into a game of survival involving the future and their cell phone diaries, all led by the God of time, an imaginary friend that Yukiteru thought he made up. In this game, only one can survive and become God. Gasai Yuno makes it as the top on our list of creepy anime girls! While her yandere traits add to her creepiness, it's her obsession, blind devotion, ability to kill without remorse, and twisted sense of justice that makes Yuno one of the creepiest anime girls. It's such a contrast to her cute appearance! Even her own future diary is a reflection of her personality: obsessive stalker, but she makes up for everything that Yukiteru lacks. You can't have Mirai Nikki without Yuno.

Chouchou inherited her father Chouji’s appetite as well as his body type. She is also surprisingly fast and has a large amount of chakra which gives her an edge over other Genin that even Chouji didn’t have when he was her age. Unlike her father, Chouchou doesn’t care about being called out on her weight and is in fact a very self-confident girl. She tries to lose weight for a little while in her teen years (like many girls do) but realizing her genetic predisposition, she seems to let it go. While she can be a little self-centered at times, she is also independent and has decided to follow her own path and do things her own way. She's at spot number 10 because out of all the girls on the list, she's the only one to ever try to lose weight and feel unhappy with herself.

Minori is a sweet country girl who's in love with her childhood friend Kosaku. Unfortunately for her, a recently retired idol he worships, Yuka, just moved to their farmland and enrolled into their school. Despite obviously not having a petite idol-like physique, Minori still stays positive and continues to pursue her love interest. She even makes sure to flaunt her full breasts to Yuka often to remind her she's the winner in that department! Physically, Minori is obviously fuller than the other females in the show, she's kind of a voluptuous tomboy tsundere, and all she wants is to settle down Kosaku. She's kind, honest, caring, not to mention strong as she does farm work often. She's a healthy, curvy country girl who knows what she wants!

Satsuki is an outstanding cook and even manages a restaurant. She’s a very hard worker and is the school’s dinning officer and is often praised for her cooking skills. Everybody likes her and she has the ability to break up fights between martial arts students. Her calm, positive personality and soft way of speaking makes the atmosphere calm and light whenever Satsuki’s around. Satsuki always dreamed of owning her own restaurant because she loves making people happy with her cooking. Being the motivated hard-worker she is, she eventually does end up opening branches of her restaurant in orbit!

Chieko is an otaku, just like everybody else who lives at her mother's apartment building, which she manages, by the way. Her particular love is that of traditional Japanese clothes and dolls. In fact, she herself looks like a doll with her round face and since she is always seen in a kimono. Physically, she has the aforementioned chubby face, and is clearly of a thicker build than other girls in the show. Chieko is also mature and clever as not only does she manage the apartment building but she is able to stay calm in stressful situations and get what she wants. On top of all that, because of her interest in traditional clothes, she is also a gifted seamstress. My favorite part about Chieko is that in a show where everybody gets a makeover, Chieko is the only one to reject it. Why? She finds that she is stylish enough as she is! You go girl!

Pine-Pine is definitely a BBW. She's tall and has all the right junk in all the right places! Her face is chubby and her pink pouty lips are decorated by a beauty mark just to the side. Her plump physique makes her look provocative no matter if she's in her work clothes or out for a night on the town! She's so self-confident that when she takes her co-worker, Scarlet, out to a cocktail party to help her meet a man, Pine-Pine is the one who ends up getting hit on by all the guys. Dandy even refers to Scarlet as “not particularly attractive” even though at first glance she fits the stereotypical tall-skinny hot girl mold. Though it doesn't help that she's always kind of depressed and in a bad mood, unlike Pine-Pine who is not only confident but always cheerful and positive. Men can't resist a self-confident curvaceous woman!

Yuriko is a 40 year old mother and housewife. As she puts it herself, she has the body (and stamina) of a 20 year-old. Stronger than even most men, she can work all day, carry all sorts of heavy things, cook amazing dinners, and care for her husband and son without batting an eyelash. She even continued her regular hard-working, heavy-lifting lifestyle during her pregnancy. She is also an amazing mother. Yuriko has raised Takeo to be an outstanding, respectful, kind and gentle man, traits which he’s clearly gotten from her, as she is always helping others and thinking of everybody before worrying about herself. In fact, when she was pregnant with Takeo, she carried another pregnant woman to the hospital!

Risley is a member of the Mermaid Heel guild. She is naturally quite plump and she owns it, wearing a bandeau top and low-rise skirt with side slits showing off just as much skin as the skinnier girls in the show. She is also very determined and confident in her abilities. Her magic powers can change the effects of gravity around her, her opponents and herself. This allows her to move along walls, jump high and even change her body size, sometimes becoming slim when she uses her powers. However, she prefers her natural, curvier size and shape and is seen in that state most of the time. She also warns her opponents “no to underestimate the chubby”! And she sure isn’t one to be underestimated!

Our list continues with another motherly figure, Ueshita Kamado who runs an orphanage and has been doing so for 14 years. She’s very caring and loves all children. She’s become involved in a life-or-death game as one of the owners of future-telling phone-diaries who must kill each other off in order to become the new God of time. Being the kind, gentle, pacifistic woman she is, she isn’t interested in being a God, and only wants to win so she can make the world a better place for children. Her sweet, round face and soft plump body make you just want to hug her and have her bake you cookies! All her children love her to death and though she won’t fight in the situation she is in, her kids will do anything to protect her.

While Sonico is made to fulfill all kinds of fan service, she's not your typical big-breasted anime cutie. Unlike most other well-endowed anime heroines, she has thick thighs, a bit of a belly and a thicker body overall. Not only that but she's usually spilling out of her (sometimes barely-there) clothes and is often seen with a bit of a muffin top or skin folds when she sits or gets in certain positions. Sonico really has more of a realistic body type of what a voluptuous sexy college girl would look like. And to top it all of, she's also a model, works at her grandmother's bar and a musician in a band! And while she's gorgeous, curvy, talented, and busy she's still a down-to-earth, somewhat clumsy, sweet girl. I'll be honest, the first time I ever saw a Sonico figure, I was very surprised and loved the fact that she had a very realistic body type. That's why, even though she was only a mascot for Nitroplus at the time, she became and still is one of my favorite characters!

It's starting to seem like a lot of chubby girls in anime are either motherly or sensual. Well, here's a girl that has the best of both worlds! Kazami Torino is a sweet, smart, generous and kind voluptuous woman who takes in girls who don't want to battle or have nowhere else to go on Mermaid Island. She really is like a mother to all the girls in the village and everybody loves her for it. Physically speaking, she is more than well endowed in the cleavage department and you can usually see where her clothes naturally dig into her hips, belly and breasts. And when you see her in a bikini (or less!) I'm sure you'd agree she's the most adorable plump MILF you've ever seen. And that's how she got to number 1 on our list!

Yuuko, the protagonist, is one of the most energetic anime characters that you will come across. She’s an interesting character, mainly due to the fact that bad stuff always seems to happen to her no matter how much she dodges it — though of course, not in a bad way! She loves sepak takraw, a Malay and Indonesian game that is essentially playing volleyball with your foot and a ball made of wicker! This is a testimony to the author, who had spent a few years in Indonesia. Not only that, but Yuuko’s catch phrase is, quite literally, anything she says in Malay, such as “selamat pagi” (good morning) and “terima kasih” (thank you). With a protagonist like this, you can’t get bored! Yuuko has light brown hair that’s graceful and somewhat supposed to reflect kindness, Yuuko’s hair is definitely a huge contrast from her actual personality — but that’s what we love about her! Although her hair is plain and in no way showcases the fact that she is the protagonist, it still very much suits her. It’s fairly short and not layered, and in reality, the chestnut-like color of her hair is what a lot of girls dye their hair to!

My Little Monster is a shoujo that revolves around Mizutani Shizuku, a brilliant straight-A student who despises the idea of dating. That is, of course, until she meets Yoshida Haru. Natsume Asako, an online blogger who seeks to make good friends with Shizuku, encourages Haru to get closer to her, while simultaneously pushing Shizuku closer to him. Because of her cute personality, Natsume had gained quite a considerable amount of followers. Although many girls at their school generally see Natsume as a threat because she’s so pretty, she is the sweetest character in the entire series! Natsume has brown hair that’s fairly long, that goes to the middle of her back, and it frames her face nicely with side bangs. From the roots, her hair is straight, cascades past her shoulders, but is always curled towards the ends. It’s not necessarily a different hairstyle than what some people are used to seeing, but it is definitely becoming a timeless hairstyle that goes with any outfit — as Natsume has proven various times throughout the anime, what with being an internet celebrity and all!

Hanji can be thought of as a “mad scientist”, since she’s so fascinated by the chemistry and biology of how Titans operate. As opposed to being afraid like most of the soldiers and the people, Hanji always uses it as an opportunity to further her understanding of the inner workings of Titans. When she was introduced to Eren, she wouldn’t take her eyes off him, until Levi, the corporal of the Survey Corps, stepped into the picture. On top of being a brilliant mind that helps lead the Survey Corps forward, she is also one of the only ones who is somewhat compassionate towards the Titans. Although it’s arguable that her treatment of the Titans is harsh, it’s important to remember that in the anime, Titans are not considered human and therefore do not experience the same threshold of pain that humans would. Another reason why Hanji is loved amongst her fans is because although in the anime she is perceived as a woman, in the manga she does not identify with a gender! It’s an interesting twist on representing people who are not commonly perceived in the manga and anime industry! We don’t actually know how long Hanji’s hair hangs off her head, since it’s always in a ponytail, but what kind of researcher and scientist doesn’t keep her appearances in check?! With large glasses and a messy pony tail, Hanji is the true definition of a brown-haired beauty that’s slightly insane. Although not the only brown-haired woman in the anime, she is definitely one of the smartest and one of the most obviously hopeful soldiers who trusts that humanity will prevail against the enemy.

Although Nanami is absolutely adorable, she is not the typical Mary-Sue anime character that some of us are used to seeing onscreen. With perseverance and integrity, Nanami proves to even her audience, that if you work hard enough, you will always be given new opportunities to prove that you are doing well, and what kind of person doesn’t want that kind of inspiration to do better? Determined and always willing to improve herself, it is not news that Nanami is one of the most radiant characters in this anime, which says a lot considering most of the characters are so beautifully portrayed and drawn. With long brown hair that suits her perfectly, we get a sense of warmth from Nanami that makes her seem unattainable, like the deity she is. While gods and deities are generally meant to be thought of as beautiful and revered, it’s important to remember that Nanami is a human, and yet esteemed spirits fall for her charm and the smile that she wears so proudly. Her beautiful brown hair only amplifies her wonderful features and attributes.

For a majority of the anime, Hiyori is in her spirit form, helping Yato and his Regalia, Yukine, to fight off spirits and demons. The gods and spirits that are close to her and Yato are aware that their relationship isn’t merely a friendship, nor is it merely platonic, either. However, there are those who are after her for the express purpose of hurting Yato and making him obey their orders, which sets up a whole new dynamic for Hiyori’s character. She is someone that’s caring and nurturing, particularly towards Yukine, whom she sees as a younger brother. Not only does she encourage fair behaviour to Yato by telling him to be honest, but she also shows to other spirits and gods that spiritually, she is strong. Someone who is outspoken but refuses to be ruthless is someone that definitely is loved! Hiyori is a highschool girl with the magical ability to slip in and out of her physical form. She has long brown hair, which makes her look a bit like a ghost but is no less beautiful for it, which compliments her personality in having a strong sense of right and wrong and is deeply loyal to the ones she trusts as she treats Yukine like a little brother. Her love for her friends Yato and Yukine is so strong she can’t even see a future without them. She always cares about the other gods and regalias and in turn they love her back and know how important she is to Yato. One noticeable physical characteristic is her eyes. They are a light purple and they seem to encapsulate you and are a feature that makes you look at her face, and with her brown gorgeous hair, you can’t look away for one second.

When we first see Sango, we immediately learn that she is a Demon Slayer. In this time period in the story, it is a respectable job to have, and there are a special set of skills that she possesses that can only come from her family. The first time we see her in action and take down a demon, we are, of course, immensely impressed. However, she also ends up losing her whole family, including her younger brother — whom she loves very much — and she discovers soon enough that Naraku, the enemy that all her friends are trying to destroy, had taken control of her dead brother by implanting a Sacred Jewel shard into him. Furious and heartbroken, Sango travels with Kagome, Inuyasha, Miroku, and Shippo, in order to seek justice for her entire family, and wipe out the enemy that took everything away from her. Not only is Sango a badass, but she is a beautiful young woman who cares for her friends and will protect them with her life. Given the time period that the Inuyasha anime started, it's pretty common that women in anime had long hair. Sango’s long brown hair perceived her as a badass woman that people loved seeing in action, and she was definitely a favorite. From the moment she’s introduced, Sango had long hair that was pulled into a high pony-tail with her fringe left out from her battles with demons. When she travels with Kagome and the rest of her friends, Sango’s hair is let down except for the ends that tied together with a ribbon so as to keep her hair from flailing about in the wind, which would be wonderful, really.

Not only is Otae protective of her brother, Shimura Shinpachi, but she is also a character that stands up for herself and those she loves. She also knows that despite what people might say about cabaret girls, she doesn’t allow disrespect on a man’s part and is a good role model in terms of teaching that it doesn’t matter how much someone feels they are entitled to you — if they do not approach you in a decent way, then they should be dismissed as unworthy. Although her role is to be the cabaret girl who’s also an older sister, Otae is certainly a badass in her own way; she can fight and prove her worth just as much as the other girls of Gintama can. For sure, even though some may say her looks are boring, her character is not one to be messed with! Otae is a beautiful woman with brown hair tied in a ponytail and brown eyes. Her beauty is so potent she is the main attraction in her workplace: Snack Smile. Her beauty also makes people underestimate her combat skills. Otae is very egotistical about her good personality traits and at the same time insecure about her bad personality traits. Despite being sweet and good natured, she has a quick temper and it a bit violent as well. Her bravery always makes her care more about her family and closest friends rather than herself. She smiles through every situation no matter how sad or hurt she is.

When Nagisa wants to open up the theatre club at school again, most people saw it as something ridiculous — why put in so much effort for something as petty as a club, when there were other things to do? Over time though, when we see how genuine she is, we can’t help but want to support her. Her manner of speaking to her friends is soft-spoken and although it is difficult for her to open up, once she does, it’s something that her friends fully support her for. Her relationship with her parents also contributes to why she is in this top 10 list, as it portrays an atypical Japanese family that causes her to stand out from the others. Not only is Nagisa sweet, but she also has a drive where, if she puts her mind to it, she will not give up on what she loves most. Nagisa is portrayed as a very sweet and innocent girl who is always caring for others. Her sensitivity makes her insulted easily. She’s also prone to getting sick and because of that she had to repeat her final year of high school because of an illness that lasted nine months. One noticeable personality trait is her lack of self confidence and her insecurity makes her seek help in order to motivate her to do things. She’s not exactly a sexy character but her beauty is more cute in a way, which makes you want to protect her. Her appearance suits her personality as it doesn’t make her overly sexy. Her brown hair is a soft color and darker than her more golden eyes, but the contrast itself is one that is subtle and yet, drastic.

For most of the story, we are led to believe that Aika was a mysterious girl who was killed for apparently no reason, that she was helpless and couldn’t defend herself in the end. However, Aika is an incredibly bright girl who had ultimately set up her own death for her brother and her boyfriend to find her, and have motivation to take revenge. While Hakaze is born for the good end of the spectrum, Aika was born for the opposite side. Initially, we are led to think she was evil, but the fact that she killed herself was proof enough that she wanted to be on the good end, and wanted to protect her brother and her boyfriend. In cases of setting up one’s own death, it obviously takes a considerable amount of thinking through and leaves absolutely no room for mistakes — and Aika, being as gracious as she is as well as adamant about what she wants, is definitely a girl that had tons of promise. Not only is Aika an interesting character, but she is one that possesses incredible beauty that amazes those around her. Her hair is layered and goes all the way down to her hips. In the anime, every time Aika moves, her hair follows her subtly and gracefully, creating an atmosphere of elegance around her that never seems to disappear, even though we are given bits and pieces of information about her that’s supposed to give us a holistic image of her. Although the first time we really see her is when she is draped over a chair after having been killed, her long, straight brown hair still frames her beautifully and continues to give her an air of gracefulness and elegance!

Fairy Tail is one of the anime that has many characters with crazy-colored hair, pink and blue and green alike. It’s almost strange to think that Cana Alberona, one of the members of the Fairy Tail guild, has normal brown hair. She possesses card magic and is rumoured to be a raging alcoholic particularly in times of victory. Outgoing and somewhat of a jokester, Cana is close to Lucy and teases her from time to time about her love life. Although we don’t see much of Cana’s potential in the beginning of the series, we begin to see shadows and glimmers of it during the Tenrou Island Arc, where members of Fairy Tail are tested on whether they are eligible to be S-Class wizards or not. Cana is smart, beautiful, and an absolute badass — a trope that never seems to get old! During the Grand Magic Games, we find that Cana’s brains definitely help her to get in the lead of the ranking of strongest members from each guild in Fiore, She is not a reckless wizard who uses all her powers at once, and only resorts to drastic measures when she has no other choice. In this case, she ended up having to use Fairy Heart, a secret weapon of the guild that was passed onto her by the First Master, Mavis Vermillion. When she showcases this special and secret weapon in front of the millions of viewers and her opponent in the Games, suddenly, Cana’s character is taken very seriously, and dubbed not to be messed around with! A member of Fairy Tail and potential S-Class mage, Cana is a character who is remarkably powerful and beautiful. Her one prominent characteristic is her love of alcohol and how it borders on addiction. Nevertheless, when she isn’t drunk she has a serious personality and hardly goofs off. Cana is also extremely loyal to Fairy Tail and it’s members regardless of new they are or what their background is. Her tenacious personality is also notable as she always stands up for her dreams of being an S-Class mage. Like most Fairy Tail characters who are female Cana is extremely attractive and her tanned skin gives off the impression that she works hard. Most of Cana’s attire shows off her body which means she is aware of how attractive she is.

Mayo Chiki makes a lot of fun about one of the staples of the anime medium and especially comedies as a whole. That is the sudden occurrence of a male character getting a nosebleed when in contact with an attractive female. Mayo Chiki’s protagonist, Jiro, has the unfortunate condition of torrential nosebleeds and blackouts whenever he makes contact with a female, a condition that entices the most beautiful richest girl in the school, Suzutsuki, to attempt to cure him. While the central story involves gender misidentity with Suzutsuki’s cute butler Kanoe, Suzutsuki takes on the role of mischievous deviant, complete with Lolita style attire. One group excursion in an attempt to ‘treat’ poor Jiro’s condition sees them hang out at a local out door swimming pool. Cute Suzutsuki shocking the blood straight from the nose of Jiro by suddenly appearing in a very low cute and revealing black bikini, in stark contrast to her usual ruffles and high neck lines. This is both attention grabbing and surprising but also makes logical sense in terms of the narrative. By exposing Jiro to attractive girls in a natural and non threatening environment, they hope to cure him of his affliction and allow him to move onto a meaningful relationship with the reserved Kanoe.

Monster Musume is a raunchy comedy anime that makes no attempt to hold itself back with its wild Ecchi humour and minimal clothing for all characters involved, protagonist included. In the bizarrely unique situation of having to house a number of stunningly attractive female/monster hybrids as part of a cross species cultural exchange, ‘Darling’ kun, as he is often referred, eventually rescues a mermaid of royal heritage in her home world. It’s not long after this that a giant pool is installed in his home by the government secret agent in charge of the home-stay, as otherwise she is often confided to a wheelchair while on land. The mermaid’s attire is what you would typically expect from a sea dwelling half human, a bikini. While most of the female monster characters and even the male protagonist himself are often physically exposed to provide comedy and light titillation, her revealing outfit is the only one that makes logical sense from a storyline point of you. If she was to wear normal clothing, it would be a ludicrous situation, only providing comedy for the repeated wet t-shirt moments. This bikini makes the list because not only does she looks fantastic and fulfils many a fantasy, but it also actually makes logical sense in the confines of the over the top story.

The world of School Live! is one of stark contrasts, on first impressions a cutesy moe teen comedy complete with ditsy female character tropes, it is instead one of the best psychological zombie stories told in anime. This is typified by the character of Yuki, who due to psychological trauma caused by the zombie apocalypse and witnessing the deaths of many close friends, acts as if every day is a normal day at school. She attends classes and speaks to classmates as if they are still alive while maintaining an almost sickening level of positive and ‘genki’ attitude. There are many shocking and upsetting twists and turns in the story of School Live!, however sandwiched between them is episode 9, where the four girls decide they need a break form surviving and hit the custom made roof top pool and bare their bikini’s for all the non existent world to see. While this could feel very forced in to meet the anime bikini girl quota, this is actually a much needed break from the upsetting emotional trauma, both for the audience and the characters. At this point Yuki is becoming aware of her delusions and just how dire her situation is, however she encourages the other girls to enjoy themselves and just act like teenage girls for one of the last times. This carefree attitude to wanting to enjoy your adolescence encapsulates Yuki’s character and how her positive attitude is essential to the mental health of her comrades. Yuki splashing and having fun in her obviously cute bikini is a welcome reminder that these girls are only teenagers and how cruel it is that they don’t live in a world that lets them act that way anymore.

Nisekoi is a fantastic modern love story, complete with Yakuza families and great comedy. Nisekoi focuses on male protagonist Raku Ichijou the son of a Yakuza kingpin, his childhood best friend/sweetheart, Koaski Onodera, and Chitoge Kirisaki whom Raku is forced into having a pretend relationship with due to a gang dispute. What follows is a charming romantic comedy, as Raku and Chitoge can’t stand each other but have to keep up appearances, while all 3 of the characters battle with the mixed emotions of a love triangle. Onodera is a rather shy and demure character who has a genuine love for Raku, and also for her close friend Chitoge, something that makes watching their pretend relationship an obvious burden. Throughout the series she is conflicted as to whether or not their fake relationship is developing into something real. The bikini scenes are poignant in Nisekoi, as it certainly helps to serve as a reminder that while she may not be as immediately glamorous as Chitoge but damn does she look great in a bikini. It is important for Onodera to have these moments of confidence and to notice the effect that this has on Raku to remind her of his true feelings for her.

Amongst the likes of idol sensation, Rise, and refined Japanese beauty, Yukiko, Chie fills the role of at crude but loyal tomboy. Fiercely protective of her friends in particular the demure Yukiko, Chie is the first to join Yosuku and Yu’s investigation team and enter the TV world to rescue their friend. Chie hasn’t had many friends previously, instead taking on the roll of guardian to Yukiko and accepting this as her primary identity. Throughout the investigations teams growth and the social bonds they form, Chie changes, from an angry adolescent into a budding young women. This is epitomized when the investigation team complete with mascot teddy venture outside of the confines of Inaba and travel to the nearest beach. While the focus may likely be on the beautiful Yukiko and the sexy Rise, Chie’s character development and the surprise shown by the males that, ‘hey, Chie looks kinda awesome in a bikini too’ makes Chie one of the best anime bikini girls. Always having to be tough and having others really on you can be a burden, and to see Chie acting as any teenage girl should and looking perfectly cute while doing so makes her the most honest and appealing female character in the show. While choosing which girl to date in the exceptional video game port Persona 4 Golden was always tough between Yukiko and Chie, I always ended up falling for the kung fu princess!

Long have the rumours and sightings of the fabled headless rider circulated the corrupt streets of Ikebukuro. Little do the average populace now that it’s real and is in fact a female spirit of Irish descent whose head was stolen by a mysterious organisation. Celty is ghoulish female black rider, whose wispy spirit scythe brings justice to any gang members that dare get in the way of her daytime job as a private delivery agent. Celty’s struggle is in fact very grounded and human, she cannot communicate through speech, only through text messages on her smart phone and she lives in constant fear of someone experimenting on her head, essentially ending her life. She finds solace and comfort in her long time friend and later lover Shinra. One of the most surprising bikini scenes in anime, for a short period Celty is seen in an alluring little black number, complete with missing head and wispy smoke escaping from the empty neck. This is almost too much for Shinra, who can barely keep his hands to himself until she punishes him for being too much of a perv. This scene is very crucial in the development of Celty as a character, as it is the first time the viewer realises that she is in fact a women rather than a sheer monster. Despite the fact she is missing her head, she is incredibly sexy. While she obviously chides Shinra for his lustful behaviour, it is also apparent how much she enjoys being desired by the only man that she trusts and loves in the search for her missing head.

Umaru from the perspective of other high school students or local residents is the perfect adolescent girl, flowing golden locks, striking beauty, intelligent and courteous to everyone she meets. However this façade is dropped the instant she returns home to her humble apartment shared with her older brother. Umaru morphs into a chibi version of herself complete with childlike tantrums, slovenly behaviour, and a love for all things otaku. While a constant strain on her brother, Umaru’s feeling that she must hide her true geek self from the rest of the world is one that can probably resonate with many viewers in particular female’s who are often judged more harshly for displaying such tastes. Towards the end of the season, Umaru has unwittingly formed a number of lasting friendships with other slightly odd ball classmates and has even let her mirage drop on occasion before quickly reverting back to her pristine well mannered persona. The trip to Enoshima Island close to Yokohama and Tokyo is a heart warming one, being the first time she has been on a trip to the beach with friends. Umaru of course looks impeccable in a bikini but to see her having natural fun with her friends without having to put up any barriers is perhaps even more appealing and attractive. The episode feels like a natural evolution of her character and a necessary plot point contributing to one of the summers best comedy/slice of life anime.

Asuna Yuuki is the famous captain of the Knights of the Blood Oath and one of the players responsible for defeating Akihiko Kayaba and releasing the other trapped players out into the real world and away from this death game. Asuna is also the primary love interest and person of support to series protagonist Kirito. If this sounds like a lot of responsibility then your right it certainly is, without taking into account her overbearing family life in Kyoto where she has little freedom to make her own life choices. Arranged marriage, schools, how she is to dress and style herself. All these things are decided for by her mother in a misguided attempt to give her a better life. This makes Asuna donning her exceptionally cute bikini in the virtual world of ALfheim Online all the more poignant. This is the only place in which she is free to be herself and relax with her friends she trusts and with the man that she loves, Kirito. Her mother would surely forbid her to reveal this much of herself in front of others in the real world, instead insisting she dress demurely and sophisticated so as not to embarrass the family. While SAO is certainly guilty of fan service to a degree, how happy and carefree Asuna appears during these scenes make her entirely more humans and also infinitely more attractive.

Haruhi Suzumiya is far from your average high school girl, something that becomes very apparent when Kyon discovers that the other members of the paranormal investigation club are all other worldly entities trying to monitor the girl who can alter the course of man kind. This in essence gives Haruhi the powers of a god, but she is entirely unaware of this, instead feeling constantly bored by a life that she feels is simply too normal. Perhaps it’s her obsession with the paranormal and wanting to meet aliens that has drawn them all near to her. In any case, Haruhi is incredibly passionate, bossy and downright crazy at times, with none of the care for her contemporaries’ opinions on her. The combination of attributes makes Haruhi one of the most intriguing and appealing anime girls in existence. During their summer vacation, Haruhi is so determined that the group will have fun and make the most of their time that an infinite time loop is created from her sheer will power alone. This means they live the same summer break, all be it from different camera angles and with differing conversations, repeatedly over a 9 episode ark. This is an unthinkable idea for any anime to attempt, but Haruhi pulls it off and looks splendid in her bikini throughout the pool side summer break. The fact that through her own intense desire they relive this pool scene up to 9 times throughout the series plus the fact that Haruhi is one of the most oddly attractive and unique girls in anime places her on this list.

Nami is the third member to officially join Luffy’s straw hat pirate’s crew after he aids Nami in her long term struggle with the leader of the fish men Arlong. Nami is an expert map reader and navigation specialist with a dream to map all of the seas beyond the grand line. Nami is a borderline kleptomaniac with a habit for stealing and betraying her friends. However, once she understands how far Luffy will go for his friends, Nami becomes a loyal and trustworthy ally. While rarely involved in combat early on in the series, Usopp eventually creates her famous weather rod so she can help her friends in battle without the need for any devil fruit powers. Nami’s design has undergone a number of changes throughout both the manga and anime series more than 10 year run. While she may have developed substantially in the chest measurement department since the first story arc, one thing remains constant and that is in wearing a bikini top as her primary costume. This is important for two reasons, firstly as it displays Nami’s unabashed confidence in herself, despite being embroiled in conflicts between a largely male pirate cast. So is it a little exploitative to have one of the primary female protagonists wear a bikini for the best part of 700+ episodes? Of course not, she spends her whole life on the high seas and visiting tropical paradises, wouldn’t you spend a lot of time in a swimsuit too?

Kurashita Tsukimi lives in an apartment complex that is females only. Tsukimi is obsessed with jellyfish and her friends who live at the dorm also have their own nerdy obsessions so they all get along in what they call the "Sisterhood". Tsukimi's life takes a turn when she meets Kuranosuke, a beautiful woman who is not as she seems. Don't count Chieko out just because she's a little strange! Chieko takes her kimono seriously and wears one on a daily basis, keeping in mind to take proper care of them. Unlike her other sisterhood sisters, Chieko acts as the resident "onee-san" and can be quite civil for the most part, though sometimes she just comes off as creepy with her love of disturbing dolls and the like. Regardless, Chieko pulls off the traditional wear just nicely and shows that she is the mature one amongst her sisterhood. Maybe the kimono makes the girl?

Mugen is a wild card while Jin is a quiet but strict ronin. These two cross paths when Fuu saves them from being executed for fighting, but she didn't save them for free! She wants them to help her find the samurai who smells of sunflowers. Now, they set off on a journey, but hopefully they don't kill each other first. You know how I said maybe the kimono makes the girl? Yeah, well, Fuu demolishes that idea. Like her rowdy cohorts, Fuu tends to make a mess of things no matter what, but you have to love her! Fuu is the balance between Mugen and Jin, yet that doesn't mean she's the level headed one. Fuu has shown herself to be quite the glutton and fool when it comes to love. She also gets herself into more trouble than not, but that's just what makes her a fun kimono girl, don't you think?

Higurashi Kagome is just an ordinary high school girl who ends up being dragged into a cursed well by a demon. Kagome is surprised to find herself 500 years in the past during the Sengoku period with the Shikon Jewel inside of her. The sacred jewel shatters after battling a demon so Kagome must work with Inuyasha, a half dog demon half human, to collect the shards before they fall in the wrong hands. Who could forget the little jewel that is Rin from Inuyasha? Rin is a little orphan girl who often wears a kimono and travels by Sesshomaru's side. She's got a childlike innocence despite all the grief she has been through and will always risk her life to save the lives of others. While Rin has no special powers unlike many of the main characters of Inuyasha, she has something special within her that allows her to change the lives of people like Sesshomaru. Rin is a darling little kimono girl with a big heart that you can't help but fall in love with.

Ayase Chihaya fell for the world of Karuta when she made friends with a boy in her class, Wataya Arata. Together with her friend Mashima Taichi, they played karuta as a team before Arata had to leave town, forming an unbreakable bond. Years later, Chihaya is still set on playing karuta as a team with her friends so she sets off to start a karuta club at her school! Chihaya is one beautiful kimono girl who has more interest in karuta than she does for her own well being. Chihaya is a crack up, though, because of her own single minded determination. She's hell bent on getting better and advancing forward, which sometimes seems to cloud her own judgement. Although Chihaya really doesn't have the right mannerisms for wearing kimono, she does wear it well and it gives her an air of elegance to the surprise of those around her. Just don't underestimate Chihaya because she will swipe every card right from under your nose! She's a fierce one, but that's what makes her a fun heroine!

Hinamori Amu has a reputation for being "cool and spicy" but in reality, she's really shy and loves cute things! Upon making a wish to be more open, Amu wakes up to find there are 3 colorful eggs in her bed, which hatch to reveal Guardian Characters: Ran, Miki, and Su. With the help of these Guardian Characters, Amu's personality changes and she finds herself joining the student council to seal the X eggs! Meet little Temari, Nadeshiko's Guardian Character and Shugo Chara's kimono girl! Much like her kimono suggests, Temari is a well-mannered and elegant character with a talent for traditional Japanese dance. Temari is a cute little Guardian Character with Nadeshiko's best interests in mind. Just don't make her angry because Temari can be quite vicious.

The Devil King, Sadao, is on the verge of conquering the world when Hero Emilia defeats him. Sadao ends up going to another world: Tokyo! The desire to conquer the world still runs in his blood so he has decided to conquer this new world, but first he must work at a fast food restaurant to survive! Suzuno is an adorable one who accidentally ended up being an anime kimono girl due to her studying about Japan from historical dramas, but the kimono look really does suit her! Suzuno is the serious type with a talent for assassination, so watch out for her! She'll cut you down fairly quickly. You'd never know that she was an executioner of the Inquisition. Yeah, Suzuno is not someone you want to take lightly...

It's been a year since the "The Black Rebellion" and the Black Knights have gone underground after the execution of their leader, Zero. Britannia has increased the oppression of the Japanese while the Britannians in Area 11 are at peace once more. One day, a Britannian student skips school to gamble in a game of chess, but it appears he is being followed by certain forces. It is on this auspicious day that is memories are unlocked and Zero returns to once more bring about the rebellion! Young Sumeragi Kaguya is an interesting girl who seems to live with the dream of being Zero's wife, while also realistically accepting the fact that Zero may be one who harem. Aside from that, she's a strong willed young woman with greater charisma than most of the members of Black Knights. Kaguya may be young, but that doesn't mean she can't hold her own as the headmistress of her family and fellow rebel.

As the title suggests, the whole anime revolves around mermaids. Akeno however, belongs to an enforcement unit of the mermaid society and she actually keep tracks of the mermaids to ensure that they conform to the rules and make sure that they blend into society. Having shoulder length front hair and a ponytail that reaches the nape of her neck, Akeno has a pine-like shade of green. Despite having a weak constitution, Asa doesn't rely on others like most of the weaker and sicker characters. She is cheerful and happy most of the time and loves cooking. She is one of the main heroines in this rom-com, so she is a bit shy with her feelings. Her short green hair, tied up in a ribbon and dyed a brilliant shade of chartreuse expresses her trait of rejuvenation. Despite being sick and frail, she does her best to herself and the people around her, happy. She is energetic and lively and also a bit of a tomboy as well. The main protagonist of the story, Eureka is a pilot of of the NirvashTypeZERO. Appearing distant and aloof at first as well being blunt with her words, Eureka eventually grows to communicate more with humans, being able to understand and express emotions as well. Eureka growth is similar to that of a robot learning the human emotion. Eureka is not fully human but more of a humanoid. She had a hard time at first dealing with interpersonal issues and even questioned them. Eventually, a revitalization of her character shows us a newer side to her, one that is more sympathetic and understanding towards others. Eureka has very short hair, her hair is pinned up in front and she has a very light shade of green

A bubbly singer, a hyperactive child, cheerful and optimistic is what describes Ranka. This positive individual brings joy to the world. Yet, she harbours a dark past and it can even be said that she wears a mask to conceal her true emotions most of the time. While her positivity and energy is merely a facade, Ranka is a highly developed character as much emphasis is placed in exploring her persona. She has short hair (and an ahoge!) and has a nice dark shade of juniper green. Like her green hair, she shows a calm, peaceful and happy exterior, but behind the foliage of a forest lies a hidden and dark secret. Nevertheless, she is still a lovable character!

Rarely speaking and having hawk like eyes, Minami is thought to be scary and unfriendly. However, she has a very kind side to her and cares deeply for just about anybody. Even amongst friends, she doesn't speak much and is easily embarrassed when others remarked about her kind nature. Minami plays the role of a loyal support. She won't leave her friends behind and would rather not be recognised for any of her kind deeds. Her warm personality brings comfort to the people around her especially her best friend in the series, Yutaka Kobayakawa. Minami has short and bright lime green hair

Simply known as Tsuruya in the series, she plays the support role in the anime and is the close friend of the popular Mikuru Asahina. Fun, bubbly, cheerful and hyperactive, her personality won her a fan base despite being a side character. In addition to her cheerful personality, Tsuruya also has a peculiar but adorable speech pattern by leaving a syllable out when she speaks some times. Tsuruya upbeat attitude shows the rejuvenating and refreshing side to the series. The side character's role after all is to add comic relief and provide light heartedness to the series after prolonged exposure to the same storyline. She has a darker shade of green, almost like a clover long, waist length hair which flows freely . This is the reason as to why we are putting her on Number 3.

Next on the list is the Sonozaki twins. During the course of the anime, if you are unable to discern between the two, don't worry, you're not alone. While there are much confusion, there is a way to discern between the two. Mion is the more tomboyish and rash twin whereas Shion is the more refined and shrewd of the twin. Due to the premise of the story, both twins have equal dark secrets to hide. Their green hair is a representation of the secrets they harbour and they both appear fun-loving and innocent. As the story progresses, their history and dark pasts comes to the surface which comes as a total shock to many of fans of the anime. Both of the twins have long bright mint green hair but while Mion keeps her hair tied up in a long ponytail, Shion keeps her tied up with at back with a ribbon.
